Last week, the Senate Armed Services Committee held a confirmation hearing for the man President Trump has selected to be the Nation's top military officer: Lieutenant General John Caine. This warrior's replacement of Joe Biden's Joint Chiefs Chairman, General C.Q. Brown, couldn't be more welcome – or needed. General Caine, known by his Air Force pilot's call sign “Raizin,” was not only selected over myriad active duty four-star officers. He was also pulled out of retirement to take on this key job at a particularly fraught moment. In contrast to the previous chairman, he has focused on war-fighting, rather than promoting divisive, cultural Marxist “Woke” agendas. The Trump team of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Chairman Raizin Caine promises to provide the reboot of our military we urgently need. Let us pray they have time to reestablish the practice of “peace through strength.” This is Frank Gaffney.
AP Washington correspondent Sagar Meghani reports on the Senate confirmation hearing for President Trump's joint chiefs chairman nominee.
President Trump has providentially tapped retired general “Raizin” Caine to be the next Joint Chiefs Chairman. That extraordinary step was prompted by this can-do warrior's swift defeat of ISIS others insisted would take years. Such leadership and initiative is needed now regarding Mr. Trump's directive for a Pentagon plan within weeks to defend the American people with our version of Israel's “Iron Dome” anti-missile defense. The Pete Hegseth-Raizin Caine team could deploy a space-based “Titanium Dome” before the end of this presidency – especially if Elon Musk, with his record of audaciously and swiftly getting big things done in space, rides herd on the effort in the White House. Indeed, we could have had one thirty years ago had the approved “Brilliant Pebbles” program been placed in the High Frontier, albeit with far-less-capable technologies than are affordably available today. Let's roll! This is Frank Gaffney.

The Biden administration reportedly wants to put American forces on the ground in Gaza. Clearly, there's a desperate need for adult supervision, and urgent course corrections, regarding Team Biden's policy towards Israel and the war upon which her very survival depends. Israeli media quote the seriously deficient Joint Chiefs Chairman, General C.Q. Brown, as saying Washington seeks a “joint U.S.-Israeli command center in Rafah.” Best case, such an arrangement would embroil our military personnel in deadly fighting in that densely packed urban center. More likely, and by design, it would create a further impediment to Israeli efforts to defeat Hamas decisively. The Israelis rightly do not want others fighting their wars. Especially after last week's American betrayal at the U.N. and Team Biden's impending, insidious Trojan Horse port in Gaza, the job of defending the Jewish State must remain Israel's alone. This is Frank Gaffney.

If addicts are blessed, or simply lucky, people who love them will organize a life-saving intervention. Our informal Save America's Military Coalition intervened yesterday to expose, and help counter the effects of, toxic Marxist “Kool-Aid” many in our armed forces have gotten hooked on by the three Obama-Biden administrations. Twenty prominent veterans and other patriots conducted a telethon originally intended to encourage the U.S. Senate to understand – and address the damage being done to – the military's readiness, morale and deterrence capabilities by so-called “woke” officers like General C.Q. Brown, the recently confirmed incoming Joint Chiefs Chairman. It turns out the Senate itself needs an intervention. All other things being equal, senators seem likely to agree to the promotions of other champions of cultural Marxist divide-and-conquer strategies like Critical Race Theory and Diversity- Equity-Inclusion. Join us in intervening at SaveAmericasMilitary.org. This is Frank Gaffney.
Tim Scott has faced several questions recently about being single while running for President. Chad talks about how much marital status impacts a candidate's electability today before a conversation with Colonel David Hunt about the Abrams tanks arriving in Ukraine and General Mark Milley stepping down as Joint Chiefs Chairman.
Legend has it that, in ancient Rome, a mad emperor named Caligula marked the decline of its once-powerful Senate by making his horse a legislator. Today, the free-fall of the U.S. Senate is evident in the now-permitted slovenly attire of a mentally challenged senator. Far worse is mounting evidence that the Senate is no longer doing its job. For example, Senator Ron Johnson recently sought to require Senate approval as a treaty of any forthcoming World Health Organization accord that would destroy U.S. sovereignty. His amendment was voted down. And Senators just allowed a general involved in the disastrous surrender of Afghanistan, who has hollowed out the Air Force and believes America is a systemically racist nation to become Joint Chiefs Chairman. We need a Senate that is a real check on Joe Biden's wrecking operation. Can we get it back? This is Frank Gaffney.
Eleven U.S. Senators demonstrated commendable courage by voting yesterday against the nomination of General C.Q. Brown to become the next Joint Chiefs Chairman. By so doing, they performed their duty to serve as the Quality Control Officers overseeing military promotions and found the man currently serving as the Air Force's chief operating officer to be unworthy of further elevation. Such a finding would be partly justified by the hollowing out of that service on Gen. Brown's watch. It would be further warranted by his vociferous championing of what is, properly understood, a devastating cultural Marxist assault on our armed forces. Even though the eleven Senators did not prevail, they have encouraged our real warriors to reject Biden's politicizing that decries America as systemically racist, imposes toxic quotas and demands the military be preoccupied with social engineering, rather than readiness and deterrence. This is Frank Gaffney.

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute. Air Force Chief of Staff General C.Q. Brown warned his subordinates in writing last week about Chinese Communist attempts to recruit serving personnel and veterans. The reason given is the interest the People's Liberation Army has in honing its understanding of U.S. military capabilities and practices as part of what the service's Secretary, Frank Kendall, says are PLA preparations for war with us. Unfortunately, Gen. Brown himself may be encouraging U.S. airmen and women to be receptive to the Chinese Communist Party's temptations. After all, he has aggressively promoted Maoist cultural Marxist notions including, for example, that America is a systemically and irremediably racist nation. The next Joint Chiefs Chairman must not divide, demoralize and brainwash our troops with enemy propaganda – thereby encouraging them to betray a country unworthy of their service and sacrifice. Tell your Senators: RejectGeneralBrown.org. This is Frank Gaffney.
This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute. Air Force Secretary Frank Kendall is suddenly warning that the Chinese Communist Party is preparing for war and his service is not ready for what's in the offing. He's launched five separate task forces in an urgent – if not actually desperate – bid to restore our ability to deter such a conflict and, failing that, to prevail in it. But first, we need to know who is responsible for this perilous situation? Ultimately, that would be the Air Force Chief of Staff, who for three years has been charged with recruiting, training, operating and maintaining the force. His name is General C.Q. Brown. And President Biden wants him to be the military's next top officer – principally because Brown champions the administration's Marxist makeover of our armed forces. General Brown's malfeasance warrants a court-martial, not promotion to Joint Chiefs Chairman. RejectGeneralBrown.org. This is Frank Gaffney.
Alabama Senator Tommy Tuberville is best known for his years as a successful football coach. Today, he's running what may be the most important defensive play of his career. Coach Tuberville is blocking Senate approval of promotions of hundreds of military personnel over the Biden administration's politicization of our armed forces. Sparked by its federal funding for abortions, his “hold” is now addressing as well the longstanding Obama-Biden agenda of effecting a cultural Marxist “transformation” of the military. Consequently, the Senate has a chance to consider whether a general who champions that toxic agenda should become the nation's top officer. “Coach's” efforts have just been endorsed by presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, the latest in a growing number opposed to General C.Q. Brown's nomination to become the next Joint Chiefs Chairman – a stance everyone else in the field and the Senate should support. This is Frank Gaffney.
It's said that “Everybody talks about the weather, but nobody does anything about it.” That's basically been true of the so-called “Woke” cultural Marxist assault on the U.S. military, too. To be sure, the House of Representatives recently adopted several key amendments to the annual defense authorization act. But their fate in the final bill is uncertain and the radical Obama-Biden “fundamental transformation” of our armed forces is still moving inexorably forward. But an opportunity looms to “do something” significant about it. The U.S. Senate left town for six weeks without confirming a champion of the Marxist agenda to be the Nation's next top military officer. Our new, informal coalition called “Save America's Military” seeks to do just that by urging your vacationing Senators to block Air Force General “CQ” Brown's promotion to Joint Chiefs Chairman. Join us at RejectGeneralBrown.org. This is Frank Gaffney.
The House of Representatives voted last week to correct some of the most egregious examples of the Marxist-makeover currently afflicting our military men and women. The Senate will shortly consider its version of the National Defense Authorization Act. Tragically, Democrats in the majority there are expected to endorse racist, merit-crushing “diversity” priorities, “transgender” accommodations that imperil servicewomen's privacy and safety and illegal government-funding of abortion-related expenses. Fortunately, the Senate can demonstrate that it, too, wants the restoration of America's military greatness – not its further ravaging – by rejecting an exemplar of so-called “woke” in uniform: General “C.Q.” Brown, President Biden's nominee to become the next Joint Chiefs Chairman. At www.RejectGeneralBrown.org, you can tell your Senators to start returning our armed forces to their historic values, traditions and practices that are essential to deterring conflict and, if that fails, to prevailing in battle. This is Frank Gaffney.
Out of the blue, President Biden yesterday called up elements of America' military reserves. What's up with that? Ostensibly, it's to shore up our forces in Europe. But are they meant for a shooting war in Ukraine, without congressional approval or public support? Alternatively, are the reserves intended to paper over the military's acute recruiting crisis and its principal cause: Team Biden's deeply alienating, Marxist makeover of our armed forces? Or is this a cynical gambit to induce the U.S. Senate to confirm General “C.Q.” Brown as the next Joint Chiefs Chairman and rubber-stamp the promotion of other officers willing to sacrifice readiness and deterrence to so-called “woke” policies that undermine both? These possible motivations have one thing in common: They are likely to embolden our main enemy, the Chinese Communist Party, to believe it can wage war against us with impunity. This is Frank Gaffney.
Yesterday, the Senate Armed Services Committee politely thanked and gingerly questioned President Biden's nominee to be the nation's next top officer. It wasn't until two Senators broke what appears to be a taboo that the elephant in the room – namely, the radicalism of General Charles “C.Q.” Brown and his Commander-in-Chief's agenda for “transforming” the U.S. military – became evident. I was among thirty-one signers of an Open Letter urging that the prospective Joint Chiefs Chairman be questioned about the Marxist “woke” policies of racial preferences, political commissars and transgender accommodations that are crippling recruiting and harming readiness. Thankfully, Senators Mike Rounds and Eric Schmitt did so. Gen. Brown's responses showed that America and her armed forces urgently require another hearing, this time fully devoted to exploring the damage being done to our only military on the eve of a possible war with China. This is Frank Gaffney.
