We sat down with Anthony Russo in the mezzanine section of the iconic Radio City Music Hall in NYC. As soon as we shook hands, I could feel an authentic, hungry energy from Anthony. The night we recorded this episode, Anthony would be taking this historic stage to open for G-Eazy. You can hear the vibrations from G-Eazy's soundcheck as Anthony and I dive into intricate aspects of tour life, songwriting, the creative process, and other meaningful topics. What does it feel like to be in the midst of writer's block? What was running through Anthony's body the moment he shook G-Eazy's hand less than 24 hours after moving out to LA? What does 'sodash' mean?!? We take you through it right now on Auxoro: The Voice Of Music Artists. A special thank you to Anthony Russo, his family, the management team, and the fine folks at Radio City for making this podcast possible. In this episode we explore the power of moments in our lives. Moments are the way we remember our lives, they define us, and yet we don’t have a coherent way of thinking about and understanding them. Can you engineer the defining moments of your life? Can you create more moments that are powerful and impactful? We discuss that and much more with our guest Dan Heath. Dan Heath is a Senior Fellow at Duke University’s CASE Center where he founded the Change Academy. He received his MBA from Harvard Business School and is the co-author of several New York Times best sellers. Are you a mitochondriac? If you don't know what that means, no worries. You will be after this episode. Today's guest, Dr. Jack Kruse — neurosurgeon, mito-hacker, and author of Epi-Paleo Rx: The Prescription for Disease Reversal and Optimal Health — joins me on today's episode as we delve deep into the science of light, water, and magnetism. Today's episode is long and dense. And the show notes... are even longer and perhaps more dense. Jack and I talk water quality, electromagnetism, and why light — or better yet — human photosynthesis — may be more important than food. But I think my favorite part of this episode is when I hit Dr. Kruse with a not-so-brief round of rapid-fire questions hidden near the end. So be sure to stick around. Full disclosure: I forgot to plug in my fancy-pants podcaster mic and the sound quality isn't what it should be. But sue me. What was I going to do? Tell Jack to start over? I don't think so. But in today's episode you'll learn: Why the time of year and the light you eat under may make food toxic, How WiFi effects carbohydrate addiction, The three essential pieces of equipment Jack recommends everyone buy, and... Saxophonist Ben Wendel grew up in a loud household and he had to fight to be heard. Maybe that’s why it’s so important to him to be heard clearly. Born in Vancouver and raised in Los Angeles, by the time he left the west coast to attend Eastman School of Music, he had already been informed by a community of players and mentors, along with his cohorts in the Leimert Park scene. He carried the openness of that atmosphere with him to Eastman, then back to Los Angeles, and eventually to New York. In college he connected with a group of like musicians and they formed Kneebody, a band that proudly defies category, but that lives in what Wendel refers to as “jazz adjacent” territory. Ben works regularly as both a sideman and a leader. His 2015 video series “The Seasons” featured 12 original duets dedicated to (and featuring) 12 different musicians and released over the course of 12 months. How does working in a visual medium change the way he thinks about making music? What’s happening in LA? What was it like to work with Snoop Dogg? Is it important to swing? How do you learn style and sound? Can it be taught? www.third-story.com

This is a podcast about television writing and becoming a TV writer. It is for people like us--working their way into the business from the ground up--who aspire to be TV writers (whether drama or comedy). It is also for everyone interested in the television industry and everything around it. We'll be alternating every episode between two threads vital to being a successful TV writer: the business side, and the writing side. On the industry end, we'll be discussing things like meeting people, networking, finding work, being an assistant, and the television business itself. On the writing front, we'll be tackling anything related to our craft. Writing TV pilots, TV specs, taking notes, structure, theme, working in a writers' room, in a writing team, and so much more. Our first few episodes aim to give you a basic step-by-step guide to getting yourself established in LA, armed with a basic understanding of TV writing, and giving you the tools needed to start your journey to the writers' room.
