San Diego Comic-Con delivered one of the biggest news weekends of the year, and we're digging into all of it on this week's AIPT Comics Podcast. We break down DC's latest Next Level announcements, including new ongoing series for Vixen, Static, Batman, The Demon, and Jonah Hex, react to Marvel's Predator vs. Punisher, unpack Christian Ward's newly announced Pandemonium, and even talk about Ryan Gosling's surprising Ghost Rider reveal. If it made headlines at SDCC, we're giving it the full AIPT treatment. After that, David sits down with Christian Ward to discuss Forever Home, his ambitious new Oni Press series with Sami Kivelä. Ward explains how the story grew from a simple yet unforgettable premise: a house that survives climate collapse by falling outside of time, where every 20 minutes inside equals a year in the outside world. The conversation explores the book's emotional family drama, its retro-futuristic design, climate anxiety, billionaire bunkers, and why Kivelä's storytelling elevates every page. Ward also reflects on balancing writing and art, teases what's next in his career, and shares why Forever Home is one of his most personal creator-owned projects to date. Visit our Patreon page to see the various tiers you can sign up for today to get in on the ground floor of AIPT Patreon. We hope to see you chatting with us on our Discord soon! Spider-Man Brand New Day Review Spider-Man is terug en hoe. This Week on the Toy Power Podcast; even though we are Celebrating our 10th Year of Podcasting; we unfortunately exhausted all our energy on the Previous SDCC Reveals & Announcements Ep. So we are giving you a ReIssue episode instead from the Vault. (Originally Posted as Ep #143 - from October 2019). Original blurb: It’s a very special ep as we’re joined by not one, but two of favourite guests in Davey Damaged and Scotty so that’s right – it’s a Homer episode! Trent takes us through a vintage retrospective look at The Addams family by Playmates. Perfectly timed for Halloween, we wonder what could have been with this short-lived line and look to the future of the franchise as a new movie approaches. What characters didn’t get made, which ones make the camera glow and where does MC Hammer fit into it all? We make the jump to Show and Tell as Davey tries to trump us all with a purchase so large, we doubt it will actually fit in his toy room! There’s some DC, MOTU and even Final Fantasy options to choose from. Frank gives a lovely tribute showing that sometimes, the value of a toy; lays in more than its sticker price. Then it’s Quiz time and with Davey onboard, anything is possible. To say this episode goes off the rails is putting it mildly – but on the plus side we learnt that Trent can’t hold his liquor, Ben thinks photos record sound, Space Jam was an event and Rick Moranis is Trent’s muse. So hold on for this crazy ride that also serves as a farewell for one of the team…Support the show: http://patreon.com/toypowerpodcastSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Grab your Comic-Con lanyards and punch your train tickets, because the studio is taking a trip to the underworld! This week on The Filmlosophers, Hosts Eddie and Spencer are joined by the ever-glorious Intern Manager/Managing Intern Amy for a massively packed episode discussing the latest in pop culture and a legendary Broadway hit hitting the big screen. The San Diego Comic-Con Aftermath Before the crew boards the train to the underworld, they unpack the massive, earth-shattering news that rocked their pop-culture hearts at last week's San Diego Comic-Con. With the dust settling from the ultimate nerd Mecca, Eddie, Spencer, and Amy unveil what hit them the hardest from the convention floor. The team geeks out over Marvel's historic Hall H presentation, buzzing over the massive announcements of Ryan Gosling joining the MCU as Ghost Rider and the highly anticipated confirmation of Black Panther 3. The trio also dives into the jaw-dropping Avengers: Doomsday trailer, dissecting Robert Downey Jr.'s terrifying debut as Victor Von Doom and what it means for the future of the cinematic universe. A Cinematic Journey to Hadestown Once the convention hype is unpacked, the team ventures far below to review their cinematic experience of the absolute box-office juggernaut, Hadestown: The Musical. The crew discusses the historic achievement of the professional live stage capture, which was filmed with the original Broadway cast in London and just shattered the theatrical record previously held by Hamilton. Eddie and Amy are Team Hadestown 100%, wholly celebrating the impeccable artistry, the breathtaking musicality of Anaïs Mitchell's score, and the phenomenal performances of stars like Reeve Carney and Eva Noblezada. However, things get a little heated as they try to understand Spencer's deep frustrations with the narrative execution of the century-old myth of Orpheus and Eurydice. While the entire table admires the sheer talent in every scene, Spencer reveals a few major reservations before he books his next ticket to ride this train again. Is this pro-shot a masterpiece of modern theater, or does the myth get lost in the music? It's time to raise a cup and find out! You can catch The Filmlosophers podcast now streaming on all major platforms!

Joe shares his initial thoughts and impressions, discussing the themes of artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and the intricacies of a dystopian future that the book explores. The other hosts chime in with their own experiences of reading Neuromancer, reminiscing about how it shaped their understanding of technology and its potential implications on society, as well as its relevance in today's digital age.The discussion then naturally evolves into a nostalgic recollection of the days when they would watch anime on the Sci-Fi Channel, a network that played a pivotal role in introducing many viewers to the world of Japanese animation. They fondly recall specific shows that aired during that time, the unique art styles, and the compelling narratives that captivated audiences. The guys share stories about their favorite series, memorable characters, and the impact that these shows had on their lives, igniting a passion for the genre that continues to this day. This leads to a broader conversation about the evolution of anime in Western culture, the growing popularity of conventions, and how accessibility to different forms of media has changed over the years. The episode closes with reflections on how these early experiences with anime and science fiction have shaped their current tastes and interests in the ever-expanding landscape of entertainment.Official Website: https://www.comesnaturallypodcast.comOfficial Merchandise: https://shop.spreadshirt.com/comes-naturally-podcast/iTunes: http://tinyurl.com/kqkgackFacebook: http://tinyurl.com/myovgm8Tumblr: http://tinyurl.com/m7a6mg9Twitter: @ComesNaturalPodYouTube: http://tiny.cc/5snxpy
