After 97 wins, crazy winning streaks and a win over the Cubs in the NLDS, the Brewers season came to an end after four frustrating games against the Dodgers. Brewers reporter Curt Hogg and host JR Radcliffe discuss whether or not the Brewers could have done anything against the high-powered (and high-cost) Dodgers rotation. If so, what was it? Why did they look so out of sorts? What roster moves could have precluded this from being such a blowout? What's up with Christian Yelich? Could this result really cause a greater likelihood of a work stoppage in 2027? There were some bright spots, namely Jacob Misiorowski, as well as Jake Bauers, Caleb Durbin and Jackson Chourio, not to mention an unreal double play in Game 1 that we'll never see again. They briefly discuss some future roster decisions, particularly Freddy Peralta ... will he get traded this offseason?

“What's the first thing that made you laugh today?”That's how Sandy kicks off this episode, setting the tone for a morning packed with unexpected stories, quirky trends, and laugh-out-loud moments. Joined by his quick-witted wife Trisha, Sandy dives into the chaos of “Fake Fall” in Texas, where sweater weather in the morning turns into heat stroke by noon. Their storytelling brings the scene to life, blending humor and empathy for the gorilla's “sad gorilla heart.” Trisha's background as a lifelong animal lover and zoo enthusiast adds depth and authenticity to the tale, making it a must-hear for anyone who loves wild animal antics. Other highlights include:The Pope's baseball loyalty: Hear how Pope Leo, a Chicago native, hilariously defends his beloved White Sox in Vatican City, roasting a Cubs fan with a quick-witted response.Pumpkin coffee trend: Discover the bizarre new craze at Starbucks—customers bringing hollowed-out mini pumpkins for their drinks—and why some baristas are not amused.Grubhub's snooze insurance: Sandy and Trisha debate whether college students should get a do-over meal if they fall asleep before their food arrives, and share their own stories about the high cost of food delivery.Diane Keaton's Hollywood connections: Learn the surprising link between Michael Keaton, Diane Keaton, and Woody Allen's classic film “Annie Hall,” including one of Sandy's favorite movie quotes.Notable Quotes:“Sweaters in the morning and heat stroke by noon. I get you, doesn't it?”“He was all very banging his chest, running into the room, grabbing the bowl. He did a little spin as he moved into the next room and then just full on peed in her bowl.”“Okay, we can walk to the curb from here.”Guest Insights:Trisha's love for animals and her knack for storytelling shine throughout the episode, making her the perfect co-host for tales of zoo drama and everyday absurdities. YDDDY InstagramShortya_official We set up at the Abilities Expo Chicago and sat down with Abad, a 23-year-old Chicagoan seeing the convention for the first time, to talk grit, gear, and the joy of sports. Doctors once said he wouldn't walk or talk; today he's walking short distances with braces, rolling long ones with a chair, making sports content, and using a backyard hoop as a meditation mat. It's a Speedcast with heart: the kind of conversation that jumps from all-terrain wheelchairs and grant options to Cubs optimism and the calm that only a clean jumper can bring. We dig into what sacral agenesis actually means day to day—how a missing tailbone touches movement, balance, and even the most basic routines—and why a broken power chair is more than an inconvenience. Abad opens up about playing wheelchair basketball and softball before the pandemic cut seasons short, then finding a rhythm again at home. He shares how posting sports takes on TikTok builds a community that understands both the box score and the backstory. There's purpose threaded through the plays. Abad's message is direct: your disability doesn't define you. He channels that belief into action with his brand YDDDY, directing proceeds to Free Wheelchair Mission to expand access to mobility worldwide. We swap notes on adaptive tech that widens the map—chairs built for sand, setups that reduce fatigue, smarter paths to funding—and celebrate the small routines that protect mental health. If you're into adaptive sports, disability advocacy, mobility tech, or just a great Chicago sports chat, you'll feel at home here.

We also discuss which of the free agent Kyles will be more in demand, try to break down all of the options in the Shōta decision, discuss David Ross' managerial prospects and much more.

Long series though! (19:20) The Dodgers are going with Blake Snell and then Yoshinobu Yamamoto in Game 2. Where is Ohtani? Well, the Dodgers have a plan for that. What about the Brewers? An opener? (31:30) Let's go back to that Phillies loss. A rushed errant throw by Orion Kerkering was it. A mental mistake for the ages. (36:00) What are the Cubs going to do with Kyle Tucker? Is he a longterm Cub? Is he leaving? (38:30) Review: Play Dirty. (45:00) It looks like Albert Pujols is likely to become the next manager of the Los Angeles Angels. Welp. (50:00) NPPOD.
