For generations, the only sounds at a Major League ballpark were the crowd, the crack of the bat, or the slap of a ball smacking a glove. Then in 1941, we got organs, and an historical journey began. With music, fans were more engaged than ever... and in 1970, one woman joined the Chicago White Sox and brought her musical skill and razor wit to the keys. Thanks to Nancy Faust, inventor of the walk-up song, baseball changed forever. Learn with us, laugh with us, deal with fluctuating E with us. We get into Sinners and more in the MouthGarf Report... and of course, we play some I See What You Did There!Sources:https://www.wbur.org/onlyagame/2016/04/30/organ-mlb-historyhttps://www.mlb.com/cut4/the-complete-history-of-the-walk-up-songhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nancy_Fausthttps://www.mlb.com/news/organist-nancy-faust-returning-to-play-selected-games-for-white-soxPlease give us a 5 star rating on Apple Podcasts! Want to ask us a question? Jerry cannot believe they took David Peterson out in the 8th inning after having an easy 7th. The Mets have to go into KC and win the series going into the all-star break. It was an ugly day yesterday for them. Peter returns for an update and starts with the sounds of the Yankees comeback win over the Mariners. Aaron Judge talked about coming back down 5 runs after not getting a hit until the 8th. We heard the sounds of the Mets losing a double header in Baltimore. Keith Hernandez almost got hit by a foul ball yesterday and didn't realize it. We talked about bobblehead giveaways as the Dodgers are giving out 40,000 of Kobe instead of the usual 17,000. In the final segment of the hour, the Yankees have a giveaway involving a child author and a pigeon. Hour 3 - We started the hour with the news from Sports Business Journal that said for Subway Series viewing, SNY had 70% more viewers than the YES Network and we are trying to figure out why. C-Mac thinks the Mets fan has a deeper connection to Gary, Keith & Ron than the Yankees have with Michael Kay. Peter returns for an update and starts with the sounds of the Yankees coming back down 5-0 to beat the Mariners. We also heard the sounds of the Mets losing a double header in Baltimore. Evan Roberts doesn't seem to know that Steve Cohen's ‘Fab Four' reference was about the Beatles. In the final segment of the hour, we took more calls on why more people tuned into SNY over YES for the Subway Series. Hour 4 - We started the hour with talk of the Yankees win last night, which C-Mac thinks was their best win of the series. They were being no-hit until the 8th inning and were down 5-0 and won the game. Cal Raleigh said after the game their closer was tipping pitches, in particular his slider. After getting swept in a double header yesterday, the Mets have to take 2-of-3 in KC before the all-star break. Peter returns for his final update of the day and starts with the Yankees win including the sounds of Volpe's tremendous slide into home on the Judge sac fly. Stanton talked about his first career pinch-hit HR. The Mets lost a double-header in Baltimore. David Peterson was named to the all-star game. Kodai Senga will start tonight in KC. The Moment of The Day: Peter Schwartz is wrong. In the final segment of the show, Rick Springfield was on the Today Show and Al Roker's co-host yawned and he asked if he was boring them.
