Tee Time For Pittsburgh 05/06/26 The Pittsburgh Penguins' 2025-26 campaign has come to an end. Eliminated in an overtime, Game 6 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers, the Pens overachieved and bowed out early. No harm, no foul. We all got extra hockey, the organization generated some playoff revenue from tickets, concessions, and merch, and after a slow start, we were all treated to some thrilling hockey in Games three through six. Jeff and Jordan recap the season that was, discussing - among other things - Evgeni Malkin's future with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Game Six: Balboa Penguins Force Philly Return 04/29/26 No one saw any of this coming, so each shift we behold - with Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and Kris Letang together in the Stanley Cup Playoffs - is a gift to Penguins fans around the world. And yet we find ourselves riveted by the drama, as number eighty-seven and his scrappy, resilient team pushes through the reedy swamp of the most unlikely of comebacks. The Flyers, after jumping out to a three games to none lead, have stumbled while the Pens have surged. Former Calder Cup MVP and Penguins net minder Arturs Silovs stood tall in games four and five, and heretofore absent elements to the Penguins' postseason game: Depth scoring, Superstars getting going, just to name a couple, have arrived at either just the right moment …or a little bit too late. Either way, we're being treated to a classic. A Keystone State Battle to write home about. Tonight the Penguins visit Philadelphia for what will either be their storybook season's final tilt or, as some die-hard Penguins fans assert and hope: one more salvo in the name of a reverse sweep. Make no mistake: The Flyers faithful are sweating this game. Enjoy the podcast - Jeff and Jordan are back with you for some spirited Penguins hockey talk. Also, special thanks to Hunter and Jacob, a couple of newly minted hockey fans who came in through the ‘Heated Rivalry' side-entrance. Jeff met them at a local coffee shop, spotting them in some crisp, new Rakell / Crosby jerseys and simply had to ask them for a quick chat. This week on Hurdle, I’m sitting down with Jasmine Caccomo, an entrepreneur and elite personal stylist who has spent over 15 years redefining the intersection of fashion and professional sports. Jasmine has built an incredible career styling some of the biggest names in the industry, most notably Alex Morgan, whom she’s worked with for the past 13 years. In this episode, Jasmine talks about how playing soccer from a young age instilled the discipline, accountability, and “figure it out” mentality necessary to navigate the world of entrepreneurship. We also chat about her early days working in the fashion closets of Cosmopolitan and Marie Claire, and the bold leap she took to establish her own styling business. Plus, she gives me the lowdown on how she handles high-pressure moments—like styling Hilary Knight for the Oscars just days after an Olympic season—and how she sets boundaries as a business owner and mother. Also: Why presence is absolutely vital for her to do both well, and the essential lesson of learning to ask for help. IN THIS EPISODE, WE DISCUSS: The Athlete Mentality: How her background as a hurdler and soccer player provided the work ethic for her business. The "Editorial Trenches": Realities of working in fashion closets and the 80/20 split between business and styling. Transitioning to Freelance: Taking the leap from a steady editorial job to building a personal brand. Styling Elite Athletes: The process of onboarding clients like Alex Morgan and translating an athlete's power into a wardrobe. Modern Athleisure: Defining "upscale athleisure" and why leggings will never truly be dead. The Glass Ball Theory: Managing the juggle of motherhood and entrepreneurship by identifying what can drop and what can’t. QUOTABLE MOMENTS: "I’ve always had that ‘figure it out on my own’ mindset. You have to figure out how to train that works for you." "It’s about bringing out that inner personality through, externally, their wardrobe." "There’s always something to be done, there’s always another hurdle to overcome, there’s always something bigger, something shinier that I want to do." “X” Men 04/12/26 The Pittsburgh Penguins are going back to the Stanley Cup Playoffs!! Needless to say, Jordan and Jeff are beside themselves with unadulterated joy, personified by the sign-offs you'll hear at the conclusion of today's episode. Sidney, Kris, Evgeni, Erik, Bryan, and Ben all sat and rested their weary bones for yesterday's 6-3 loss to Ovechkin and the visiting Washington Capitals, but the big boys will PLAY today as the Caps make their final regular season home-ice appearance. That's clunky writing folks, but it's Sunday afternoon and admin is heading to their part-time job. Florida Men 04/02/26 Nothing says ice hockey like FLORIDA, as for the past two NHL seasons no hockey club has been more successful than the FLORIDA Panthers. And if it's Florida hockey yinz want, then you're in luck - the Penguins tonight kick off a three-game stint versus the Lightning and Panthers. Tonight's game versus the Bolts will be played in Tampa, with the Cats curling up in Pittsburgh for a back-to-back residency at PPG Paints Arena on Saturday and Sunday. The Tampa team looks pretty darned dangerous and it's never wise to count out a reigning Stanley Cup champ, regardless of (the Panthers' mounting) ongoing injuries. Lords Of The Shootout 03/27/26 As we've been saying for YEARS, the Pittsburgh Penguins are the Lords Of The Shootout, striking fear into the hearts of any opposing team's goaltender.. etc, etc. We kid, we kid. Back-to-back shootout victories for your Pittsburgh Penguins are of course unheard of and downright unexpected - but the Steel City's flagship hockey club managed the feat nonetheless, besting ace goaler, Linus Ullmark for a massive 2-point party in the capital of Canada. As of today's posting (Fri March 27, 2026) the Penguins are in sole possession of 2nd place in the Metropolitan division. The podcast you're listening to was recorded the day before said game, on the heels of two epic home losses to the NHL's top teams, Carolina and Colorado. Unfortunately as we celebrate both the Men's and Women's Olympic Hockey gold wins, things have gotten quite political. Their accomplishments shouldn't have been diminished. Jerry Brewer, The Athletic joins Ian to react to the things we heard in the conference call as the Men's Olympic hockey team spoke with the President. We hear from Hilary Knight, who was forced to speak on and react to that - rather than speaking about the feat the US Team overcame in the Olympics. Shouldn't the Olympics unite us? Jerry weighs in on sports being weaponized when it comes to politics. He also talks about why he wrote the article he did. The Daily Power Play! Corbin Smith, Emerald City Spectrum tells Ian what Seahawks' deals need to be done ASAP and which ones might be able to wait just a bit. JSN is in the former category and it's probably better in the long run for the team when it comes to financial sense. Corbin takes us inside what happens at the NFL Scouting Combine.
