    Lindy Boone is the second of four daughters to legendary singer and entertainer Pat Boone and Shirley (Foley) Boone. She has worked in the fitness industry as a group fitness instructor and personal trainer for 25 years. She currently resides in Southern California with her husband of 38 years, attorney Mike Michaelis. She has three adult children: Ryan, Jessica, and Tyler. In 2001, her son Ryan Corbin stepped through a skylight and fell three stories onto a cement floor. Because of this, he had TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) and was expected not to survive. However, through the miracle of faith and prayers, Ryan did survive, and Lindy uses her platform to speak on TBI. Since Ryan's fall, Boone has learned a great deal about traumatic brain injury and has come to a new understanding of the faithfulness of God and the power of our words during times of deepest needs. In 2003, the Boone family established a non-profit in Ryan's name called Ryan's Reach to help survivors of brain injury and their families and has been providing funds for TBI survivors to receive therapy ever since.     7 years a journey with Barb Dixon

    Barb Dixon, at the time of her head injury was a stay at home mom and professional freelance makeup artist. In May 2016 at the age of 38 she incurred her injury in an unexpected way, a wheelbarrow that was hung up in her garage, fell striking her on the top of her head with the motion of a hammer strike. Knocked unconscious for an unknown period of time before coming to, crawling into the house was all she could manage. She didn't know it then but that moment would stretch into 7 years of recovery. Barb suffered with PCS and the psychological, physical, mental, and emotional turmoil that PCS entails as well as late diagnosed PTSD. She had to, once again in her life be her own champion and advocate. With the support of her loving family and with dogged determination while enduring a long list of impairments, Barb continued to seek answers and find the help that no one seemed to have for her, and she did. Her journey is, as we know with brain injury recovery, a constant work in progress. Now that she is well through the darkest valleys of her PCS recovery, she wants to share her story with others who find themselves where she once was.     Carly Cauley is a speech-language-pathologist and group facilitator for MnCAN (Minnesota Connect Aphasia Now), a non-profit providing support and programs for people with aphasia and their families. Aphasia is a language disorder that affects the ability to speak, read, write, and understand what others are saying. It is caused by stroke, brain injury or some progressive neurological disorders. It does not affect intelligence. The inability to communicate can cause devastating isolation. In addition to facilitating conversation groups, she is also MnCAN's Communications and Outreach Coordinator. She has a Masters Degree in Speech Pathology from the University of Minnesota and a BA in Speech and Hearing Science from the University of Iowa. Her areas of interest include aphasia and adult neurogenic communication disorders and AAC. She has supervised and trained graduate students in conducting speech therapy, aphasia conversation groups and cognitive rehabilitation since 2013. As a speech-language pathologist, Carly has worked in a variety of settings including a transitional care unit, outpatient rehabilitation and public schools.     Tricia Desrocher joined Northeast Rehabilitation Hospital Network in New Hampshire more than 35 years ago. A Physical Therapist by Training, Tricia also has a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration and specialty certification in Stroke Rehabilitation. She has dedicated her career to the organization, its patients and to advancing brain injury care. This included providing patient care and staff mentorship at all four of the Network's acute inpatient rehabilitation hospitals, serving as the Director of Program Development for the Brain Injury program and overseeing The Joint Commission Disease-Specific Care Certification in Brain Injury. All four hospitals initially achieved this certification in 2013 and have achieved recertification at every review since then. Corrigan, PhD, is a Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Ohio State University and Director of the Ohio Valley Center for Brain Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation. For the past 40 years he has treated and studied long-term outcomes of persons with traumatic brain injury. Dr. Corrigan is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Head Trauma Rehabilitation. He has been the PI and co-PI of the Ohio Regional Traumatic Brain Injury Model System since 1997 and chaired the Executive Committee of the TBI Model Systems Project Directors from 2007-2017. Since 2013 he has served as the Director of the Ohio Brain Injury Program, which is the designated lead agency in the state of Ohio for policy and planning related to living with brain injury. This position has provided a platform for translation of evidence on long-term outcomes to public policy.     Long COVID and Post-Concussion Symptoms with Arianna Kaminski

    Arianna endured a concussion during her junior year of high school. Through persistence and determination, she recovered during 5 long years. She was 95% back to normal when she contracted coronavirus and everything changed. Today, she is still dealing with long COVID symptoms that are eerily similar to her post-concussion symptoms. While it is hard, She has a hopeful outlook for the future. As she was healing from my concussion, she needed a way to get out her emotions. she turned to writing. she wrote poems nearly every day.
