This week in our series Upside Down: The Secret to the Good Life, Pastor Wolfgang invites us to rethink mercy—not as something we reserve for the moments that feel easy, but as a way of life that transforms everything. Mercy is a piece of saying “Yes” to Jesus in every part of our lives, responding to others with the same boundless grace and compassion He's shown to us. In a world quick to cancel, divide, and hold grudges, Jesus offers us an upside-down way forward. He calls us to live in the freedom of mercy—a mercy that extends beyond our comfort zones, beyond our likes or dislikes, and reaches the hearts of others just as it reaches ours. Join us as we explore how saying “Yes” to Jesus through mercy invites us to live the life we've always longed for: full of love, compassion, and true connection with God and others.

In kids' sports there is often a “mercy rule.”If one team gets far ahead, the game is called. It seems only kind and fair to not embarrass or demoralize the kids who are losing so badly. In life it rarely works that way. There is no mercy rule, no rescue from your losses, your hurts, your failures. Today's word of the day is ‘inaction' as in no action as in lack of action as in Rob Manfred was in London and made some comments about the Oakland A's fans… again. Did he walk things back? Did he say sorry? Or did he double down? (10:00) What is wrong with Aaron Judge's toe? How bad was it? How bad is it? (23:20) Review: The Bear S2. (28:00) NPPOD. (30:20) Will we ever see a MLB team forfeit? Would the Rockies losing 25-1 to the Angels be a time where a Mercy Rule should be in effect? (38:10) It's time for MLB trade talk! What are teams thinking? Buying or selling? Taking on terrible contracts? Today feels like the most Monday Monday of all the Mondays! Wooof! Learn more about your ad choices. The Phoenix Suns and their big three absolutely crushed the San Antonino Spurs 133-95. Devin Booker, Deandre Ayton and Mikal Bridges were all pulled before the 4th quarter of this game thanks to their huge performances early on. Overpopulation, overconsumption, and overexploitation of Earth's resources go way beyond the realm of simple problems with straightforward solutions. Instead, they are dilemmas that require tradeoffs and difficult decisions. To guide such decisions, energy and sustainability expert Richard Heinberg explores big ideas such as the adaptive cycle, resilience theory, and prudent predator theory. Heavy topics abound, from death to extinction to societal collapse, but Richard proposes the "optimum power principle" to help humanity step back from the edge. And the good news is that we have a long history of deploying self-limiting tools (even ordinary policies like taxation and rationing) to curtail our overzealous quest for power. One school was limited to negative-8 yards last week in a 51-0 defeat; another school crossed midfield just once in its game; nine of the 17 games were played under the mercy rule of a running clock. The mercy rule comes into play when a team leads by 35 or more points. Painfully it is coming into play in the first quarter of some games. We discuss the lopsided scores and more on another edition of Prep Sports Now.

This week, we travel back to May 17, 2021, the day Yermin Mercedes swung on a 3-0 pitch from position player Willians Astudillo with his team up 15-4. Since then, we've seen many examples of hitters “running up the score”. Sometimes even against position players. The solution to this problem is obvious. Welcome to Have a Go's special daily coverage of the Tokyo 2020 Games. Many thought it wouldn't happen, but through sheer determination (and water-tight contracts) the IOC have fought off a global pandemic to muscle this thing in to existence.Sport is a microcosm of society - it gives us hope and dares us to dream... or some shit - but do the Japanese even want this? Meanwhile, the athletes are under strict orders not to engage in any coital activities in the Village. What's the point of winning Gold if you can't wear your medal out on the circuit to attract women? There's already been controversies - our equestrians are on the nose beers, our tennis players are getting COVID, our basketballers getting into altercations - while our softball team invoked the Mercy Rule in their hiding at the hands of a rampant Japan. Meanwhile, the Matilda's took a noble stand against racism... only to be outdone by New Zealand yet again. Finally, AOC boss John Coates is feeling bloody hot right now after landing Brisbane 2032. This Week +Donlon considers the need for Mercy in a world that seems to be losing the basic human sensibilities.
August in Heidenheim stattfinden. And what about the new dangers that lurk in our children's pockets? Too many parents are allowing the likes of Ted Bundy, Larry Flynt, El Chapo, every porn star and the rest of the seedy-side of town, not only into their own homes but into the privacy of their kids' own bedrooms without realizing it. My gosh, even our government won't let you pull the lever on a slot machine until you're 21, because of it's addictive nature. Today we speak with Kirk Cameron on his new film to find out how it can help parents navigate this endless barrage of digital stimuli that are affecting families today. Kirk Cameron is a television and film actor and producer, noted recently for his work in the family films Saving Christmas and Mercy Rule, the documentaries Unstoppable and Monumental, and the inspirational film Fireproof. He is also known for his memorable roles on ABC's Growing Pains, the Left Behind movies, and co-host of The Way of the Master television series. Kirk spends much of his time producing new television and film projects and speaking to people around the country, teaching them how to share their faith and live out a gospel-centered marriage and family. Kirk and his wife Chelsea are the founders of Camp Firefly, a camp for seriously ill children and their families. Together, they live in California with their six children. Kirk is also the creator of the recent documentary (now available on Netflix, Amazon Prime and more) called Connect. Connecting to Your Kids in a Digital World Kirk Cameron's new film, Connect, speaks to families about the newfound challenge surrounding being digitally connected. The topic in an of itself is a challenge. It's a constantly changing moving target. This whole topic really got sprung on us as parents. We are the guinea pigs.
