Welcome to the Elevate Life Project. In this episode, host Michael Kohan sheds light on the fundamental aspects of motivating oneself to attain remarkable achievements in life. Kohan questions, what does it really take to motivate yourself? He points out a common conflict that many individuals face, the disconnect between planning and action. From setting goals to making plans and being excited, somehow procrastination sneaks in when it comes to actually implementing those plans. Kohan earnestly addresses this issue and presents ways for mastering this ability. Kohan suggests giving attention to things under your control, finding a purpose that inspires you, focusing on small wins, acting first, enhancing your mood, and monitoring your progress. In doing so, he says, you can enhance your motivation and achieve better results in life. He emphasizes the importance of focusing on the things you can manipulate and avoiding wasting resources on anything beyond your influence. Regardless of the task at hand, Kohan underlines the importance of focusing on what your contributions could achieve at the end of the journey. Furthermore, Kohan explores the concept of 'small wins' and the impact they can have on achieving larger goals. He argues that by breaking bigger goals into smaller, digestible pieces, success feels more attainable and exciting. This method subdues the feelings of being overwhelmed and enhances the motivation to pursue the goal head-on. Kohan encourages listeners not to wait for motivation, but rather to act first. He notes that studies have shown a connection between maintaining a positive mood and productivity. To conclude, he emphasizes that progress in a meaningful endeavor is the most potent motivator. We all know what it feels like–a sense of joy, contentment, and well-being. But what causes these feelings? And why do they vary from person to person?   There are many theories about happiness, but scientists have yet to come up with a definitive answer. However, some common themes come with happiness.   Here are five types of happiness that everyone can achieve with effort, time, and a positive mindset:   The happiness of accomplishment. This type of happiness comes from setting and achieving goals. It can be as simple as completing a long-overdue task of reaching a long-term goal, such as buying a house or starting a business.   When you set goals and work hard to achieve them, you build self-confidence. It can lead to a sense of accomplishment and happiness. How do you set achievable goals to improve your overall happiness and well-being?   First, you make a list of SMART goals. SMART goals are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound goals. Goals need to be specific. Otherwise, you won't be able to measure your progress.   If a goal is too vague, such as “I want to be rich,” it's difficult to stay motivated because you won't know when you've achieved it.   Your goals should also be achievable and realistic. Trying to lose 20 pounds in one week is probably not going to happen, and if it does, it won't be sustainable.   Relevant goals are important to you and your current lifestyle. A goal like “I want to buy a yacht” might not be relevant if you live in an apartment and can't afford the maintenance costs.   A time-bound goal has a deadline, so you can measure your progress. “I want to save $20,000 in the next year” is an example of a time-bound goal.   For example, a SMART goal might look like this: I will start my business within the following year. You can make it even more specific by pinpointing the type of business you want to set up. Also, include a revenue target for the first year of operation.   Remember, it's important to have short-term and long-term goals to keep you motivated and happy. A short-term goal could be: “I will research business ideas for the next month.”   Long-term goals could be: “I will start my freelance writing business within the next year and make $50,000 in revenue during the first year of operation.” When you break down your goals into smaller chunks, they become less daunting and achievable.   Create a detailed action plan for the next few months to highlight the most important tasks you need to complete to achieve your goal. It will help you stay on track and make progress toward your goals. Finally, don't forget to celebrate your accomplishments along the way!   The happiness of love and connection. This type of happiness comes from strong relationships with family, friends, and romantic partners. It's the feeling you get when surrounded by people you love and who love you back.   How can you achieve this type of happiness? The first step is to make time for the people in your life who matter most to you. If you're always busy with work or other commitments, finding time for your loved ones can be challenging.   Schedule regular catchups with friends and family members, even if it's just a quick coffee or phone call.   Make time for date nights or weekend getaways if you're in a romantic relationship. It's important to keep the spark alive and show your partner that you still care. Book a spa day with your partner and arrange game nights, romantic dinners, or movie nights.   It's also important to be supportive and understand when conflicts arise. Family members and friends are not perfect, just as you are not perfect. Be patient and try to see things from their perspective.   Last, don't forget to show your appreciation for the people in your life. A simple “thank you” or “I love you” can go a long way. A kind thank you note, a box of chocolates, or tickets to a theater show are excellent examples of how to show your loved ones how much you care.   The happiness of being in the moment. This type of happiness comes from enjoying the simple things in life and savoring special moments. It's being present and living the moment instead of looking to the future or dwelling on the past.   How can you achieve this type of happiness? One way to achieve this type of happiness is to be aware of your thoughts, feelings, and surroundings. It's about living in the moment and not letting your mind wander.   Another way to achieve this type of happiness is to savor special moments. When something good happens, take a moment to appreciate it fully. For example, if you're on vacation and have a great time, take lots of photos and videos to remember the experience later.   Also, live in the moment by focusing on the things you can control, such as how you react to situations and letting go of the things you can't control. Examples of things you can't control are the weather, other people's actions, and traffic.   Lastly, remember to enjoy the simple things in life. It could be something as small as taking a relaxing bath or reading your favorite book. The key is to take the time to appreciate the things that make you happy.   The happiness of personal growth. This type of happiness comes from a sense of progress and achievement. It's the feeling you get when you reach a goal or accomplish something difficult.   One way to achieve this type of happiness is to challenge yourself. If you're always doing the same things, it's easy to get bored and feel you're not making any progress.   Challenging yourself can help you learn new things and feel a sense of accomplishment. It can also help you build confidence and self-esteem.   One way to challenge yourself is to take on a new hobby or activity that you're unfamiliar with. Another way is to set higher standards in your current hobbies or activities. For example, if you're a runner, challenge yourself to run a longer distance or a faster time.   The happiness of charity. This type of happiness comes from giving back and helping others. It's the feeling you get when you make a difference in someone else's life.   One way to achieve this type of happiness is by volunteering your time or donating money to a cause that you care about.   Volunteering your time can help you feel connected to a larger community and make a difference in someone else's life. Donating money can also help you feel good about yourself while supporting a cause that's important to you.   Another way to achieve this type of happiness is to do something nice for someone else. It could be something as small as holding the door open for someone or giving a compliment. These random acts of kindness can make someone's day and make you feel good at the same time.   You can also achieve this type of happiness by being there for someone when they need you. If a friend is going through a tough time, offer your support. If you have a skill or talent that could help someone, offer your help.   Happiness is achievable. These are just a few of the many ways you can achieve happiness. The key is to find what works for you and make it a part of your life.   Experiment with different activities and behaviors until you find something that makes you happy. Then, make it a habit to do those things regularly. Soon, you'll be on your way to a happier and more fulfilling life.

When trouble comes your way, are you relatively good at bouncing back and finding your feet quickly? Or are you the kind of person who spends days, or even weeks trying to recover from the challenges that come your way?   Your resilience is a measurement of how well you can deal with difficulties in your life. While all of us struggle with upsetting events, like a death in the family or the loss of a job, resilience is what keeps us moving forward in the face of significant challenges.   Resilient people still get sad and stressed, but they're more able to maintain a positive outlook and cope with issues when they happen. Unfortunately, while some people seem to develop resilience naturally, others struggle with achieving the same levels of grit.   The good news is there are ways you can build your resilience to ensure you're ready for anything.   Build a Strong Network   Many people assume that being resilient means being highly independent and capable of managing anything without help. However, this isn't the case. Needing to ask for support from time to time doesn't make you any less resilient.   It simply shows that you know when you need to turn to others for help.   Having people you can confide in and lean on makes life easier. Whether it's your family members, friends, or a therapist you trust, you should have someone you can turn to when life gets tough.   While talking through your issues with another person might not make your troubles go away, it can help you to get some of the stress and pain off your chest.   Believe In Yourself   Many of us are far too hard on ourselves. We spend all of our time stressing over the things we can't do and don't dedicate enough of our attention to what we can do.   Having confidence in your abilities is a good way to develop your resilience. After all, if you lose your job but know you have what it takes to get a new one, you're much less likely to spend nights lying awake and worrying.   When bad things happen, list the characteristics you have which will help you to deal with those problems. It can also be helpful to replace negative thoughts with more confident ones.   For instance, rather than telling yourself you're a terrible girlfriend after a break up, remind yourself that you're a good partner and you just need to find the right person.   Embrace and Accept Change   Being resilient means being able to deal with sudden changes, no matter how worrying or complicated those changes might be. The unfortunate truth is that it's impossible to prepare for everything that might happen.   Your entire world can change from one day to the next, so you need to be open to the fact that you don't know what's going to happen. Embracing uncertainty and being open to change is a good way to ensure you are as resilient as possible.   Remind yourself that change isn't always a bad thing. Sometimes it can be an avenue taking you to wherever you're meant to be.   Be More Optimistic   Resilient people are often able to deal with challenging situations because they know how to look at the bright side. Although it can be difficult to maintain a sense of optimism during a dark period, learning how to look for the silver lining can be extremely helpful.   Even if you only tell yourself that the bad part will be over soon, it helps to boost your internal sense of strength and wellbeing.   Positive thinking doesn't mean you ignore problems when they arise. Instead, it means looking at the whole situation and being open to positive interpretations. For instance, if you lose your job you could tell yourself that it's an opportunity to seek out a career that will satisfy you more.   Learn How to Care For Yourself   No-one can effectively display mental and emotional strength when they're struggling with their health. If you don't look after yourself, you're going to have a much harder time dealing with challenges when they arise. As easy as it might be to neglect your own needs when you're stressed or overwhelmed, you should always make time to nurture yourself.   Set time aside for yourself at least once a week where you do something that's good for your mental and physical health. Whether it's just dedicating some time to relaxation or getting a good night's sleep, every bit of self-care helps.

In this episode, we explore how accumulating knowledge, daydreaming, and making grand plans may not necessarily lead to meaningful progress in life. We start by asking our listeners if they spend all their free time reading and gathering information or are self-help junkies that never seem to make any meaningful progress in life. We highlight the importance of taking action and watching life change before our eyes. We discuss ideas such as the fact that nothing happens until you act and that it's not what you can do that matters, but what you actually do that counts. We also discuss how beliefs, values, and thoughts influence our behavior and how the law of averages is ultimately on our side. We end the episode by highlighting how action creates potential and how things start happening when we start moving. We encourage our listeners to reflect on how they want their lives to change, what they can do to make it happen, and when they will get started. So, join us for this insightful episode as we explore why taking action is the thing that matters when it comes to achieving success and making meaningful progress in our lives. Show Notes   Do you spend all of your free time reading and gathering information? Are you a self-help junkie that never seems to make any meaningful progress in your life? Are you trying to take your life to the next level by using the power of your mind alone?   How is that working for you?   Nothing changes until your behavior changes. Sure, you might feel better about your life after all of your mental gymnastics, but is anything actually happening in your life from all of these intellectual efforts?   Take action and watch your life change before your eyes!   Consider these ideas:   You have to do something for something to happen. Nothing happens until you act. You can't wish or visualize your way to a plate of food, a fancy car, the partner or your dreams, or a successful business. Those things might make it easier for you to act, but you must still take action of some kind. Unless you're telekinetic, you can't even make a paperclip move across your desk without taking action. The more you want to accomplish, the bigger the action you'll need to take. It's not what you can do that matters. It's what you actually do that counts. The amount of capability you possess only increases the number of options you have available. Having options isn't the same as choosing one and taking action. Your beliefs, values, and thoughts influence your behavior. For example, if you believe that you're smart, capable, and good looking, your behavior will be different than if you believe that you're simple minded, incapable, and homely in appearance. Here are some more examples: Do you believe that failure is fine or to be avoided at all costs? Do you believe that most people are inherently good or inherently bad? Do you value safety or adventure? Do you have positive thoughts about your goals or negative? None of these things has any actual power in the world, other than that they can alter the choices you make and the actions you take. The law of averages is ultimately on your side. If your dream is to play the piano, you can certainly do it. You simply have to keep trying. A pro pianist might play a certain piece better than you do, but you'll most likely be successful eventually. When you take action, you get a result. You're bound to get the result you want eventually if you take action long enough. Eventually, the law of averages will pay off. When you do nothing, you always fail. Action creates potential. When you take action, you can learn from your results. When you take action, things change. New opportunities become available. You might meet a new person that can help you get what you want. When you take the first step, the next step appears. Things start happening when you start moving. Nothing happens while you're learning, scheming, and planning.   Things begin to change when your behavior changes. You've proven this to yourself thousands of times throughout your life. Your life changed when you started school, changed schools, and made new friends. Your life was different after you made permanent changes to your diet or started a new diet.   You can't just accumulate knowledge, daydream, or make grand plans. You have to DO new things.   When your behavior changes, your life changes. How do you want your life to change? What can you DO to make it happen? When will you get started?

It's much harder to find the first client than to find the 10th. If you have to lose 50 pounds, the second 10 are easier to lose than the first 10. It's just hard to get started when you're trying to change something in your life. It's easier to keep a boulder rolling than it is to get it started.   Try these ideas to start your momentum:   Do something worthwhile as early in the day as possible. Whatever your big goal in life happens to be, do something about it first thing each day. It's a great way to show yourself that you're serious about being successful. It's also a way to build a lot of momentum that can carry you through the day. For example, if you need to drop a few pounds, get out of the door ASAP in the morning and go for a quick walk.   If you want to write a novel, write one page before you even take a shower.   Are you interested in speaking Italian? Learn three new vocabulary words before you have your morning coffee.   A small accomplishment early in the day can motivate you to do even more later in the day. A bad morning usually drains your motivation, so ensure you have a great morning.   Make your bed each day. It might seem like a trivial act, but it can make a big difference. You've barely woken up and you've already accomplished something. You'll also appreciate it when you go to bed. Try it for a week and notice how much better you feel about yourself. Find a mentor that's doing better than you are. Even the most successful people can use a good mentor.  If you need to lose weight, find someone that's lost 100+ lbs. If you want to make 6-figures, find a mentor that's making seven. A good mentor will push you to be more than you're currently demonstrating. Be consistent. It's impossible to gain momentum without consistency. Each time you stop, it's necessary to get started again. That's the opposite of momentum. Get started and keep going. Consistent action is the key. Perform a 30-day challenge. Pick a habit you'd like to create and force yourself to do it each day for the next month. This is a great way to build momentum. When the 30 days are up, you should be able to continue. You've already been doing it for a month after all. What's another month or decade? Easy. Have a vision. A compelling vision for the future can be the motivation needed to get started and to continue until you experience success. Think about what you want to accomplish. Who do you want to become? What type of life do you want to live? Create an attractive vision of a future that fills you with excitement. Few people have a long-term plan for their life. Even fewer have a plan that excites them. Be one of the few.   Be action-oriented. Most of us do too much planning and spend too much time gathering more information. The people that accomplish the most are those that take action quickly, consistently, and aggressively. Focus on the actions you can take and actually take them. Momentum is the result.   With momentum, it's easy to believe that you can accomplish anything. Without it, everything feels impossible. There's no substitute for work ethic and perseverance, but there are plenty of things that can be done to create momentum. If you're feeling stuck, work on creating momentum and then fight to keep it going.

Show Notes   Finding Wholeness in an Overwhelmed World   In a world of uncertainties, it is still essential that we improve all aspects of our lives. Wholeness in life thus is the complete harmony of the mind, body, and spirit. It has become the biggest desire of all human beings. It considers physical, emotional, social, and intellectual completeness.   Is it that easy to meet wholeness, especially in a world where we can only talk about what happened yesterday and today with no idea of tomorrow? Certainly not! It demands a high degree of strategic planning and discipline.   The good thing is that it is achievable, although it may not be a smooth path. Many people get themselves stressed out in their pursuit of attaining wholeness. They invest a chunk of their energy into activities aimed at facilitating the complete well-being of all the aspects of their life.   This article examines ways of reclaiming your complete self. Do not be hit with the meandering flows of the issues of life. The search for wholeness is a lifelong pursuit.   Here are six tips that will guide you towards wholeness:   Avoid wasting time and energy. We each get the same 24 hours each day. You can decide how you want to spend yours. Most people spend too much time and energy on the wrong things: activities that are not in sync with their aspirations.   Give up on unrealistic expectations. In the quest for wholeness, people set non-viable targets for themselves. When they are unmet, depression, frustration, and disappointment set in. You cannot continue to harm your emotions. Avoid this by creating targets within your reach.   Do not try to live up to others' expectations. One mistake people make is to live to please people. That's unachievable. The expectations of others could be too big or little for your dreams. Set the purpose of your life and live to achieve it. Accept criticisms, but do not let them be the yardstick for your success.   Analyze your successes and celebrate them. Success is progressive and lies in the journey towards the bigger achievement.   It is a build-up of unique achievements that will snowball into a bulk achievement. Learn to celebrate the minor things to create a way for bigger achievements.   Spend time every day with yourself. This goes beyond being alone. Take a walk, visit the zoo or museum, explore nature, and feel the fulfillment it offers. This approach is very significant for growth and personal development. It offers you the advantage of focusing on yourself.   Do a routine self-assessment. Find time every day to ask yourself questions about your life. Find out where you have reached, what remains, what approach you will adopt, what kind of self-care you should explore, and similar others. This will bring focus to your dreams and ensure that you're always moving.   As we grow older, it is also imperative that we strive to maintain a lifestyle that will ensure personal development. Wholeness stems from self-love and acceptance. Tune into your mind, body, and heart and print a bigger picture of yourself: an image that brings out the good in you and helps you feel grateful for yourself.   The goal in life is to live to the fullest with all joy and completeness. You cannot depend on friends or family to achieve this. It comes from inside you. Peace, compassion, and joy are all within you. Activate it to your advantage and live to the fullest!

However, most people have never considered what their purpose is. It can be challenging to establish your purpose if you seem to spend all of your energy just surviving your day to day life. However, knowing your purpose can make life a lot easier!   It's worth taking the time to discover your purpose and to build your life around that purpose.   Consider these reasons why you might want to discover your purpose:   Knowing your purpose provides a foundation for making decisions. How will you make a decision that's right for you if you don't know your purpose? When your purpose is clear, your options become much easier to evaluate. Whether your goal is to attend Harvard Law School, run a marathon, or start your own company, knowing your purpose makes the best option for nearly any decision much clearer. When you know your purpose, you're more likely to persevere. It's easy to give up if you're not committed. Your purpose is the thing that you're committed to. When those inevitable obstacles pop up, you'll be in a much better position to overcome them. Life is short. Why go through each day mindlessly wandering around? You have a direction for your life when you have a purpose. Your purpose might be saving the albino zebras or becoming a horror novelist. It doesn't matter what your purpose is, but you can live a more meaningful life if you identify it. Knowing your purpose provides clarity. You know what's important and what isn't if your purpose is clear to you. If you're obsessed with making the PGA Tour, there's no reason to worry about politics or the fact that your neighbor isn't mowing his grass. You have bigger fish to fry. It minimizes distractions. Many of the distractions in your life are the things that interest you, but not enough to be a genuine purpose. It's the things that you like to dabble in that can be distracting. When you have a real purpose, these semi-serious interests get kicked to the curb. It all but guarantees success. With greater focus and perseverance, you're much more likely to be successful. It's very difficult to be successful at something you feel half-hearted about. Imagine something that you're totally committed to achieving. Now, imagine that it's also very meaningful to you, and it's also very interesting to you. How likely are you to be successful? Contrast that with something you're only mildly interested in that you consider to be rather meaningless. How successful will you be? The difference in your results would be staggering. It adds to your charisma. Someone with a purpose is much more interesting than someone who is just drifting through life. You're much more attractive to others when your purpose is clear to you. Think of someone you know whose life is committed to something. Now think of someone you know who seems lost and inconsequential in the world. Which would you rather be? How would you rather appear to others? When you know your purpose, life is more meaningful and easier to navigate. Decisions are easier to make. You're more interesting to others. Your much clearer on what you're trying to accomplish.   Your purpose is something that only you can determine for yourself. Think of all your interests, and then consider how meaningful you think each one is. Your purpose is somewhere in there waiting for you to find it. It's never too soon or too late to find your purpose!

Although everyone seems to understand the importance of this shift, most people still struggle with it.   Negative, destructive self-talk disrupts your productivity and life goals. You have countless negative conversations happening inside your head throughout your day, and these negative statements can leave you feeling frustrated, angry, defeated, or depressed.   It is normal to want to solve all of your problems, but self-criticism doesn't help.   If you catch yourself engaging in this type of negative self-talk, you can learn how to quickly switch gears and redirect your thoughts to more positive ones.   This process can take practice, but you will notice a positive difference in your thoughts and mindset if you try a little each day.   So what can you do starting today to help halt negative self-talk? These tips will help:   Take a deep breath. People resort to beating themselves up because they feel overwhelmed, have too much to do, or don't know how to change their thoughts. If this is you, take a deep breath.   It helps you momentarily slow down your thought process and realize that you are not in a position to change everything. Instead of thinking about how you can change your circumstances, try to focus on the things you can control at this moment.   Acknowledge your thoughts. Regardless of your negative self-talk stage, it's important to acknowledge it. It's very natural (and healthy) to have negative thoughts. Try not to ignore them. Instead, take them as a signal from your mind that change is needed.   For example, if you're feeling defeated, allow yourself to take a moment to give in to those feelings and realize that it's normal to feel disappointed in yourself and your abilities. Once you have admitted your feelings, you can refocus on what matters in your life.   Identify the cause. Take a minute to think about what's behind your negative thoughts.   Are your complaints and negative self-talk rooted in your inability to practice your strengths, talents, and abilities?   For example, if you have fantastic communication skills but keep letting your negative self-talk overshadow that fact, it's time you learned to harness your talents. There's a good chance you'll realize that your fears and negative feelings were all in your head.   Create a routine. Building a pattern enables you to take less time, thoughts, and energy in negativity. Working through your negative self-talk is the best way to get past your toxic feelings.   And you'll have an easier time working through them if you wake up to a planned day, with not much to think about with regards to how you're going to start your day. After all, negative self-talk overwhelms you with unnecessary stress.   If you rise at the same time, have the same breakfast, and exercise at the same time daily, you don't have much to overthink and get yourself worked up.   Consciously work to silence your thoughts. Your mind can power through negative thoughts by itself, but your mind doesn't want to. You have to give it a helping hand. When you notice you're about to indulge in negative self-talk, snap out of it.   Make a conscious effort to let the thoughts pass without acting on them. The more you practice this, the better you'll get at controlling your negative thinking.   Your mindset is the driving force behind all of your actions, so it's imperative to learn how to shift your thoughts when negative self-talk begins. You have the power to change your life by changing the way you think about yourself!   #lifecoaching #lifecoach #motivation #inspiration #selflove #selfcare #mindset #meditation #success #personaldevelopment #mindfulness #leadership #reiki #motivationalquotes #happiness #empowerment #healing

But many times, heavy job responsibilities steal that balance away. When that happens, both our work and home life can suffer unwanted consequences.   But how can you achieve that balance and still excel at your job?   Use these strategies to create the work-life balance you seek:   Avoid checking your work emails outside the office. While in the office, you'll probably check your work emails often to ensure that any meetings and deadlines are met. However, checking them when you're off work allows your work life to encroach on your home life. Set boundaries with yourself and your work colleagues regarding emails, so that you can take care of work communications only while at work.   Learn to say no. You may love your job, but it's usually unnecessary to be available to your boss 24/7. We all need a break occasionally, and there is nothing wrong with saying no once in a while. Especially outside of your allotted work hours.   Work smarter, not harder. Instead of working all hours of the day, with very little rest, work smarter. You'll actually get more done in a shorter period of time. Prioritize important tasks and do these tasks first each day. This way, the most important things always get done. Avoid unproductive activities, such as unstructured meetings or constantly checking your social media accounts.   Leave work at work. This may be hard, and may not always be possible, but when you clock off for the day, make a mental note that work has finished. Perhaps take a moment to acknowledge that work has finished by stopping and taking a breath before your commute home. The reason for this is to ensure that you are not bringing the work and any stress associated with it home.   You don't need to be perfect. Have you ever been on your way out of the office, only to turn back around because you thought of a way to make a report or task perfect? Sometimes, it pays to remind yourself that you and your work are good enough.   Focus on things outside work. For some of us, our work is our life, but what happens if one day we lose our job? Where does that leave us? It may be a scary thought, but it's important to have a life outside work. Develop some hobbies that interest you. Spending time doing something that you love reduces stress and energizes you while relaxing you and uplifting your mood. Add some “happy time” to your life!   Make your own rules. There has been a shift in work attitudes, especially among younger workers. More people - even bosses - are recognizing the value of work-life balance. Come up with your own ideas that will help you separate your work from your home life and run them by your boss. They might just agree!   Finding a balance between work and your home life can be difficult, but it's well worth the effort!   #lifecoaching #lifecoach #motivation #inspiration #selflove #selfcare #mindset #meditation #success #personaldevelopment #mindfulness #leadership #reiki #motivationalquotes # #empowerment #healing

This was an awesome conversation I had with Michael Kohan that I could have kept going for several hours longer. Now you may look look at Michael's name in the title of this post and wonder what the hell is going on and why there's another 'Eastern looking' name in there too. Well that's because Michael has dedicated a large portion of his life to extensive study and practice under world renowned Bhakti Yoga and spiritual teacher, Radhanath Swami. In 2013, Michael was officially initiated into Radhanath Swami's spiritual lineage and presented with the new name, Mukunda Chandra das. In other words, Michael has some pretty badass experience and knowledge when it comes to spiritual teachings. He currently operates as a life coach and yoga teacher where he shares his wisdom in any way he can. But, as tends to be a theme in these podcasts, it hasn't always been that way. In The Episode, We Talk About... Michael's story of going from overweight, miserable, money-driven NYC real estate worker to health-infused spiritual master. How a simple yoga class saved Michael's life. What Michael learned from dedicating years of his life to daily spiritual practices and study. How to apply ancient spiritual teachings to achieve happiness and inner peace in the modern day world. Why coming from a standpoint of love, as opposed to fear, is the happiest way. How to make 'happy money'.
