The Martin Lewis Podcast is here – and it's a Budget 2023 special. Founder of Money Saving Expert, Martin Lewis reacts to Chancellor Jeremy Hunt's Spring Budget. Free childcare of 30 hours a week for working parents in England is being expanded to cover one and two-year-olds, but will only be fully implemented by September 2025. Currently, working parents with three and four-year-olds are eligible for 30 hours of free childcare per week. The plans are part of a government drive to encourage more people back to work to boost economic growth. The Chancellor is also scrapping the lifetime allowance on tax-free pension contributions, which is currently £1.07m, to stop people like doctors from retiring early. Plus the government will extend support for energy bills at current levels for a further three months. Typical household energy bills in Britain had been due to rise to £3,000 a year from April, but instead will be kept at £2,500 until the end of June. But a £400 winter fuel payment will not be renewed, meaning households' costs will still rise in the short term. The government also promised to bring prepayment energy charges in line with those for direct debit customers. This should save households about £45 a year on their energy bills from July. Elsewhere in the podcast, you Tell Us your top budgeting tips, how do you stick to a budget? Is it 'credit card in freezer' or spreadsheets? What's worked surprisingly well for you? Plus Nihal takes on Martin's Money Mastermind, and this week is quizzed on Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act. Producer: Isabelle Tudor

I want the time to get to know you and your business so that I can very honestly and transparently help you in making the best decision for your development. Let’s get down to business today and discuss a hot topic Tiffany-style. What the heck are business masterminds and should I join one?  No I’m not writing this as a self-serving post for you to join some mastermind I’ve created. The intention here to demystify this whole “mastermind” thing, so you can decide if it is something that would help you, plus what to look for and what to stay the hell away from. One of the benefits of subscribing to my podcast, ProjectME with Tiffany Carter, is I do all of the hours research for you and bring on the experts to answer your questions. Sometimes I am best expert on a subject, and when I’m not, I go seek out the best and bring them to you. I’ve had the pleasure of working with and developing friendships with many people who participated in Chris Harder’s For The Love of Money Mastermind. All of them in confidence with nothing to gain, shared their candid thoughts with me on his well-known mastermind. They raved about the connections they made, the collaborations, and it all being well worth their investment in time and money. So I knew I had to interview multi-millionaire entrepreneur and top podcast host Chris Harder, on the business and benefits of masterminding. After an 11-year career as an executive and partner in the banking industry, Chris experienced plenty of success, however he severely lacked fulfillment – and was completely burned out. Recognizing that a change needed to be made, he retired from banking in 2011 and partnered with his wife, Lori, and her brand, LoriHarder.com along with their 175,000 customers network marketing business. Chris now handles most of the business affairs and business coaching for their three multimillion dollar brands, and has found exactly the fulfillment and happiness he was seeking in a career. This hack is going to help you attract those next level people and relationships into your life, and be the person that others want to be around. Heck, this is the one hack that will even help you make more money. That’s right, I swear by it. So, what is this life hack? Always, always have solutions based conversations.   Question Highlights: I want you to think about the last 5 conversations you’ve had. Who have them with? What did you talk about? Have they been solutions based, or were they wildfire conversations? What is the difference between a solutions based conversation and a wildfire conversation? Which conversations do we tend to have more of? Why do I think this topic is so important to share with you all? Once I realized the types of conversations I was having, and decided to shift them to being solutions based instead, everything changed. Why do we default to wildfire talking rather that rise to a solutions based conversation? Simple, it’s easier to jump on the bandwagon.   So, what can we do? Be hyper aware of what conversations you are participating in. Try to turn the conversation around. Adopt a zero tolerance policy for wildfire conversations.   Quotes "There’s very few things you can talk about in life where you cannot offer somebody some great advice and make it a solutions based conversation." “It’s easier to just join on the bandwagon, join in on the gossip, join in on the complaining.” “We train people how to treat us, we train people what conversations we are willing to have, not by what we say, but by what we do.”   Follow me on social media @ChrisWHarder on Instagram and check out www.ForTheLoveOfMoney.com

Your Goals Are WEAK. You’re shooting too low…thinking that you’ll just take slow, incremental steps to wealth instead of really exploding!  Why not think bigger and set bigger goals? You’re not setting the bar high enough. And then when you do, just work backwards, and think out of the box.  So what kind of crazy, amazing goal are you going to set this year? Your Tribe ISN’T Helping You. While your tribe might be amazing, great people, but if they haven’t been to where YOU’RE SHOOTING FOR, then they have nothing to teach you.  It’s time to find a new tribe of people who you surround yourself with. You don’t have to tell your current one to “peace out” but you need to reach out to additional, different people who will up-level your tribe. You’re Too Damn Conservative. You’re probably placing too much value on your current “stability” and if you place too much focus on that, you will not be able to take the proper “risks” that you need to take in order to go to the next level. Make a radical change to get a radical new outcome! Take some risks when it’s smart. You’re Mentally Weak. I say this with the most love possible, honestly. You’re scared and afraid of what people might say if you fail or make changes. You’re afraid you might look silly. You’re not willing to push through the uncomfortable part and endure a short-term struggle in order to reach that long-term success! You’re not willing to turn off the tv and pick up a book to learn what you need to learn. Your mental discipline needs a good workout!   “These four reasons are why you DESIRE to lead a better life, but you are not yet leading an EXTRAORDINARY life.”   You see, these four reasons have been holding you back. And again, I say talk about these with some serious love for you. They’re the reasons that you DESIRE to lead a better life but you’re not yet living an EXTRAORDINARY life. If you can get these four areas cleaned up and corrected, just imagine what your life could look like in a matter of months! In This Episode We Talk about: Why your tribe could be holding you back Four reasons you’re not yet rich and how to make some changes in order to fix them How you’re probably setting crappy goals and don’t even know it   Resources: Now accepting applications for the 2019 For the Love of Money Mastermind as well as VIP Days and one-on-one coaching. Go to fortheloveofmoney.com/mastermind or drop Chris a line at chris@fortheloveofmoney.com!   Show Notes Today’s episode is all about setting boundaries – more importantly wealthy boundaries. First of all, setting boundaries in all areas of your is a very valuable thing, because when you set these strong, non-negotiable boundaries it naturally helps you achieve a stronger financial situation. So how and where do you set these boundaries? First and foremost, you must remember that: “Boundaries are set and kept, not by what you say, but by what you do.” You can’t expect people to respect your boundaries if you don’t respect them yourself.  “It’s only a boundary if you reinforce it.” When you’re able to follow through and actually uphold your boundaries, others respect it as well. When you only talk about it without following through, it’s just a wish, am I right?   The following are a few “Wealthy Boundaries” that are a good starting point:     Paying yourself first. Make a commitment to put away a certain amount of money weekly or monthly to build up your savings. My tip? Set up an auto deposit so it’s done without you having to even think about it.     Spending habits. What are you splurging on? How often? For me, I love watches and if I wanted to I could buy one whenever I wanted, but I’ve set this boundary. “I can never buy a watch unless it has a great story or accomplishment attached to it.”     Who you take advice or coaching from. You wouldn’t take financial advice from a broke financial advisor, would you? No. Make sure the person who’s doling out the advice is a proven expert and can actually help you.     Lending money to friends and family. This is so important, especially as you continue to create more and more wealth. It’s not saying you can’t loan money to friends and family, but be sure to create clearly defined boundaries.     Business budgets. These boundaries are often forgotten, but so important. Set budgets and stick to them, regardless if they’re monthly, quarterly, annually or by percentage.     Start and end of the work day. Make sure your start and end of your work day works for you and keeps you operating from a full cup. My day doesn’t officially start until 11 a.m., and while I have no “end” time, my day always ends with a non-negotiable family walk.     Giving. It is so important to give, but make sure you’re not giving too much or too little. It’s better to continuously give 10% of $100,000 than it is to give everything that’s left over. Remember, being left with nothing promotes scarcity, which only pushes abundance away from you.   I hope these wealthy boundaries have helped give you an idea of where you’d like more boundaries in your life! Regardless if you use the above or create new ones for yourself, always remember that boundaries only work when practiced and reinforced regularly. Good luck!   Follow me on social media @ChrisWHarder on Instagram and check out www.ForTheLoveOfMoney.com

In an effort to explain why I’m making such a profound statement, I’m going to tell you about a conversation I overheard the other day on a walk. There was a woman talking on her phone and I heard her tell the other person, “I can only afford to give you $20…I know it’s not enough, but I hope it at least helps a little.” First off, I want to commend two people for doing the right thing. One person is asking for help and another is offering help. But here’s the thing, it’s not good enough. How sad is it that one person only has an extra $20 to give a friend in need when she could be making more money. “We simply have to do better.” Now believe me, I’m not judging either one of these people because I’ve been the asker and the giver. We’ve all fallen on hard times. Of course, we can chalk it up to “life happened to me” when something goes awry, but I can honestly say in my moments, “I happened to me.” Do I believe bad things should happen to people – definitely not, but if this message stirs up something inside you, please hear it has a wake-up call. We have to do better. The woman I overheard is a good person but she wasn’t making good money. She was missing the tool of money, and while it may seem like a no-brainer, we need more money to help more people. How amazing would it have been if she could have given her friend $2,000 without batting an eye? Amazing, right? What if we ALL could do that? Personally, I know I can do better too. I would love to give away millions and millions of dollars like some of my friends currently do but I’m not there yet. But just imagine it, if we all made enough money to solve every problem out there what this world would be. Go to fortheloveofmoney.com/mastermind or drop Chris a line at chris@fortheloveofmoney.com!   Show Notes Today I’m going to let you in on a secret hack that I believe accounts for all facets of my success – in all areas of my life. “Seek the good in everything.” OK, I get it. This sounds really basic and is not a unique concept, but it’s a game-changer. Here’s a short story. A friend recently shared an article about a person who has given $10,000 to different people a handful of times. This particular instance showcased a waitress being left a $10,000 tip. Later the video they captured of the act was shared on YouTube to promote their brand. My friend told me, “what a shame that they’re using this for self-promotion.” Now, if you’ve followed me for a while, you know that I likely wouldn’t call this part out about the situation. What I would call out is the fact that these people gave someone who likely needed it, $10,000 because I tend to see the positive of the situation. My friend and I went back and forth on this, but what’s your take on it? Do you see the good in the situation or are you quick to find the potential negative?  “You have to intentionally seek the good in every situation in order to get good results.”  When something bad happens to you, do you go into victim mode (“Poor me, why does this always happen to me?”) or do you find the growth and education that can come from such moments? Now, everyone is free to think whatever thoughts they want, but I can tell you from personal experience that seeking the good will net more success in your life.  So let’s say you’re the person who does tend to see the more negative side of things. I challenge you, for 30 days, to try looking for the good. It is possible to re-train your brain to think positively. Here are a few tips to help: Decide you’re willing to try this concept to start seeing the positive. Come up with a mantra. Something along the lines of, “I seek the good in everything I come across.” Catch yourself when you gravitate toward a negative though and quickly reframe it! This is crucial in training your brain to see the positive.   I think you’ll find that once you’re able to see more of the positive, more success and opportunities in all areas of your life will follow.  “People want to lock arms with people who see the possibilities of the world – not the hurdles.”  If you accept the challenge, please be sure to let me know over on Instagram! I can’t wait to be blown away with all the positivity!   Follow me on social media @ChrisWHarder on Instagram and check out www.ForTheLoveOfMoney.com

Go to fortheloveofmoney.com/mastermind or drop Chris a line at chris@fortheloveofmoney.com!   Show Notes Today I’m speaking on a topic that is all too familiar to me and that is perfectionism. I’ve had so many missed experiences because I was so worried about what people thought and what I really should have been worrying about is getting results. I can’t even imagine how many opportunities I’ve missed out on just because it wasn’t “perfect” in my eyes. While I still experience small instances that pop up on occasion, know that everything I share with you is from my own personal experiences and will help you eliminate some, if not all, your perfectionism tendencies as well. I know it may seem difficult now, but I assure you that it’s not as bad as you think. Just take it one step at a time. “Your dreams are counting on you to get over your perfection and start taking action.”   Face and acknowledge your perfection. It’s necessary for you to feel the pain so you are spurred to take action. Declare it to the world – especially to those people who you’re afraid to tell. Declare that you’re going to change your habits. Heck, tag me @chriswharder so I can cheer you on! Start talking more out loud about your fears and mistakes. You’ll be surprised at the response of those who want to support you and also hear how you overcame any mistakes or learned from them. Choose to become more committed to action over perfection. And make sure to reward yourself – in a big or small way – for taking that action. Chart your actions even if they’re imperfect (that’s the idea). Make it your new, imperfect normal. Make a list of why you are epic just the way you are. Think of it as another form of gratitude practice. Do it daily, weekly etc. – but make it a regular practice so it gets locked in. Take it a step further by making a list of 20 people who you love or look up to in your life and next to their name, write a mistake they’ve made. Review and notice that you still love them despite their flaws. Read more biographies of big names who you look up to and you’ll realize that all of them have made a disastrous mistake one time or another and they still were successful. Give yourself hard deadlines. Get comfortable with releasing something – whatever it is – even if it’s not perfect. You can always tweak or make changes later.   “Stop getting ready to get ready.”   If you practice even a couple of the above habits consistently, I know you’ll be able to smash through the confines of perfection not only in business but in ALL areas of your life. Now, go take action!    Follow me on social media @ChrisWHarder on Instagram and check out www.ForTheLoveOfMoney.com

I’ll be honest with you, some nights it would be easier to shut down at 5, crack open a beer and Netflix and chill with Lori – and put my worries away until the next day. But deep down I know that I won’t be satisfied with that when I know I’ve got big things to do and lives to change. Building a great business is truly an act of love.   We don’t want to waste the gifts we’ve been given. This doesn’t mean that everyone should be an entrepreneur – trust me when I say that we need people with other gifts that usually support people like me. But being an entrepreneur takes sacrifice, and here’s four reasons why it’s also an act of love.   You’re building solutions people need. You’re improving peoples’ lives with your solutions. If you don’t provide these solutions that people need to protect your ego, time and energy, it’s actually an act of selfishness.   You’re creating jobs. All the supporters of your business? You’re creating jobs for them, showcasing their talents and giving other gifts along the way.   You’re creating wealth the world needs. You’re not just creating wealth for yourself, you’re creating wealth for others. Think of the trickle effect it has when you buy a house. Banks, title companies, builders, insurance etc. – the list goes on and on.   You’re inspiring others to do the same. When you build your business and share in your area of expertise, you’re showing others the way by example.   “You create an entrepreneur by being an entrepreneur.”   So you see, building a great business is an act of love – for yourself and others. Doing anything less with the gifts that you were given is actually an act of selfishness. Not sure about you, but I’ll choose love and inspiration over selfishness any day.     In This Episode We Talk about:   Why building a great business is an act of love Four ways that prove building a business is an act of love Why building a business inspires and creates wealth for others   Resources:   Now accepting applications for the 2019 For the Love of Money Mastermind as well as VIP Days and one-on-one coaching. One of the most popular questions I get is how Lori and I as a couple make financial decisions. It’s not surprising when you see everywhere just how stressful finances can be. So today, I’m sharing a few game-changing ground rules that will help you feel better about your and your partner’s relationship with money.   Set your ego aside. Regardless if you’re the sole bread winner or you both work, no ONE person is at fault. You should both have a strong interest in your financial goals. (If you don’t, this is your wake-up call to start!) This is a team effort and no one is meant carry the burden alone. Ensure there are no secrets, share your fears and keep those old financial stories out of it.               “Living in the now is the only way to have certainty of your financial future.”   Learn your partner’s communication style. This is imperative. Keep in mind that your partner will not hear you if your message is being given in a way they cannot receive. Trust me. When Lori and I first began working together, this took us 6 months to figure out.   Have a budget and set goals. Make it fun and dream together. If you’ve never had a budget, I recommend checking out Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University.               “Your budget is your financial roadmap to your goals.”   Schedule regular celebrations. Yes! Make “money dates” something to look forward to. Once a month shoot to go out and celebrate in your favorite way and take this time to acknowledge what went well, what mistakes were made and what you need to work on. Truly aim to air out any issues at this time unless it is more urgent.               “What doesn’t get celebrated won’t be repeated.”   In closing and in order for these steps to work, you must practice integrity when it comes to achieving your goals. Make sure you’re adhering to the above and your feelings around finances – especially as a couple – will lead to more harmony and abundance in all aspects of life.     In This Episode We Talk about:   Four tips that will change the financial game for you as a couple Why no one is at fault Learning different communication styles Why you need to schedule in regular celebrations   Resources:   Now accepting applications for the 2019 For the Love of Money Mastermind. This week's episode on the Purpose Driven Real Estate Podcast, Paige and I discuss the typically-overused term "mastermind." It seems like the word "mastermind" means different things to different people. Often times, a "mastermind" has a moderator. The moderator is a person running the "mastermind" group and providing value to the group in order to help the group keep each other accountable, share ideas, collaborate, and help make their businesses better and even their personal lives better. There are plenty of other definitions of mastermind, like... A group that gets together for lunch monthly, quarterly, or annually. A paid for group of entrepreneurs that is directed by a facilitator who arranges speakers topics, and content (most used version it seems like). An online version, meet up, or traveling mastermind. As simple as two people getting together brainstorming ideas and keeping each other accountable. My experience of being in Chris Harder's For the Love of Money Mastermind has truly challenged and changed my life both in real estate, as an influencer, a leader, and an entrepreneur. It has served a huge impact on my life because of the 30 entrepreneurs involved in this mastermind from fitness to technology to doctors to speakers to authors to network marketers to chiropractors. I’ve been wanting to talk about today’s topic for a while and am excited to dive in to whether or not the statement “Money is power,” is true. And if it is true, who should have the power? The good guys or the bad guys?   First off, I do believe that money is power because we all get an opportunity to “vote” with our dollars. The more money you have, the more say you have. People with more money are often looked up to more as a guiding example and they tend to have more of a responsibility with that power as well. They’re leaders and they don’t hoard their power, they share it. The only catch? We want power in the hands of good people who are going to do the above.   This same principle is shared in the book, “The Traveler’s Gift” by Andy Andrews. Here are a couple of his quotes that sum it up nicely and also mirror a good portion of the For the Love of Money philosophy, too   “To do great deeds, great power is essential.” – Andy Andrews   “If money is power, do not run from power. Gather it as you would the finest fruit. Power in the hands of a good person is like a drink of water on a hot summer day. It refreshes everyone with whom it comes in contact with.” – Andy Andrews   Andy goes on to describe that there are three different levels of power: Those who have enough money and power to get by Those who make enough to make things more comfortable for their families and sometimes a few others Those who make enough to change the world. They ignore what’s popular and do what’s right to lead hundreds and thousands of others toward the right thing.   We all have the capacity to do more, but so many of us fear it. I encourage you to stop being afraid to step out and grab that power! And similar to what my podcast says every week:   “Grab your power and use it for good!”     In This Episode We Talk about:   Whether or not money is power The book, “The Traveler’s Gift” The three levels of power   Resources:   The Traveler’s Gift by Andy Andrews http://a.co/d/447WBMI Aligned Enrollment opens soon! Has anyone ever asked you, “Why isn’t this good enough? You’ve already done x-y-z, so what do you want to do more?” Most often the people who ask have good intentions, but they don’t understand that you’re called to do bigger things. And this can be painful for others or make them feel threatened for a couple different reasons.   First, they may just feel threatened and afraid that you’ll move on and leave them behind. I just returned from the last leg of my two-month vacation and I feel recharged and freaking ready to go! So today I want to remind you to be grateful for your seed. What the heck do I mean?   You see, we all have special little seeds inside of us and that in turn becomes your business and eventually your wealth. Those little seeds could be a variety of things, such as a special talent or skill, an idea or some sort of innovation that no one has. Regardless of what it is, we all have them, but the problem is that we’re not grateful for them. We’re not grateful because that seed hasn’t turned into a full-blown crop/harvest yet and we’re comparing our seed to another’s crop (that yes, was once a seed).   Here’s where people need to step back and realize that only time and consistent effort will turn that seed into a crop. Don’t compare your journey to someone who’s already put that time/effort in or is in a completely different area of expertise.   “Your seed is unique to you and that’s why it’s valuable.”   Stop being pissed at the rainy days when things are seemingly putting your seed at a standstill and understand that we need those days to help us grow – literally!    When it comes to comparing – just stop!   “Look at each other’s seeds with admiration, not envy.”   It’s not a competition. Instead, figure out a way that you can help those who are already excelling (or maybe someone who’s not). I assure you that when you collaborate and help others, your business will grow faster and bigger as a result. Know that if you’re putting in the effort and taking care of your seed that it will eventually grow into a bountiful harvest – it just needs a little (sometimes a lot) TLC from you.   “Be grateful for what your seed is about to be, but also what it is today.”   Your seeds are unique to YOU so don’t deprive the world of its greatness. My goal is for us all to be happier, healthier and wealthier farmers reaping a huge harvest! Who’s with me?    In This Episode We Talk about:   Why time and consistent effort are essential when it comes to turning your seed into a crop Why we shouldn’t compare our seed to another’s The importance of collaboration   Resources: Now accepting applications for the 2019 For the Love of Money Mastermind. If you’re experiencing feelings of lack, scarcity or worry right now, I hope my message today helps free you:   “Your abundance tomorrow is not determined by what you have today.”   We all have these feelings at one time or another, whether we’re super successful or barely making ends meet – and that’s OK! But we must do our best to get back into an energy of abundance by taking one step forward (big or small).   Today, you may not have what you want, but I bet you have a great idea and some skillsets that could help you put it into action. You never know what tomorrow will bring… Maybe with the help of another thriving individual, you’ll put it into action and have a major breakthrough, but you have to keep taking action.   Because there’s only one thing that will create the abundance for you…and that’s YOU! It’s up to you to go just one more step further than you already have.   “Your future is in your hands.”   Take 100% responsibility for where you are today. Yes, the good and the bad. This may feel either frustrating or empowering, but by taking responsibility, you have control of your life. You receive the blame and the credit no matter what.   Sure I’m abundant right now, but Lori and I had our down-and-out moments too. There’s nothing special about me. I have a few talents and a whole lot of gaps to go with it. That’s why it’s up to the individual to fill in those missing gaps and take action to fill them.   We are all just one step, one moment away from finally creating the abundance we want tomorrow. It’s just up to us to go and grab it! Are you ready? While I never like to talk about my schedule being “too busy,” at the start of this week I was downright intimidated with mine. Fortunately for me, a friend of mine was in town and invited me out for brunch. That particular time is usually scheduled for my morning workout, but I’m so glad I chose an impromptu brunch instead.   This particular friend has a 100-million-dollar business and every time we’re able to connect, we have the best conversations and I wind up leaving with a ton of brand new ideas that will potentially help grow my businesses. This get-together was no different and as a bonus, it also reshaped my view on my schedule and what I get to do.   So if you’re looking for the fastest ways to up your game or become unstuck if you’ve plateaued, it’s time to find more tribe to connect with.   “Break bread with people who are doing better than you.”   Another way to connect with people? Charity events or galas. Lori and I attended a Pencils of Promise charity event on Tuesday evening and again, new ideas and ambitions were sparked while sitting next to and having conversations with multi-millionaires. These are the people who you want to spend time in order to regularly break through to new levels.   So I encourage you, go find those people or events. Do you ever wonder why some people succeed and connect with people right away, while others, when given the same opportunities, just can’t seem to pull it together? Over the years I’ve noticed one common trend that sets these people apart, no matter the kind of sales, business or opportunity – and that’s certainty.   “The most valuable thing you have is swagger.”   I was able to observe this same trait while at an entrepreneurial event this week with 15,000 people. Everyone at this event has the hopes of being really successful, but realistically only about 1,000 will actually see those results. So if all these people were offered the same products and opportunities, why isn’t everyone really successful?   It comes down to your energetic posture. When you approach someone, do you begin your conversation with confidence and excitement? Or do you tend to act shy and unsure of yourself while tripping over your words instead?   When you’re first meeting someone and/or presenting them with an opportunity, they want to look at you and see that you a.) Know where you’re going b.) How you’re getting there and c.) Know who you want to come with you. Sounds simple, but within that first 30-60 seconds of meeting someone, people are often already making the decision to link arms with you – or not.   “The surest person in the room wins.”   Now this isn’t to say that you won’t get nervous – we all have different areas in our lives that bring about that flutter, but it’s your choice to show up either big, confident and sure of yourself or small, meek and unsure.   “You don’t have to show up how you feel – it’s just a choice.”   So stop telling yourself that you can’t do x-y-z because you’re too shy or introverted. It’s just a story! Every single one of you can show up as the most certain and confident person you know you are at the core. And it doesn’t take years to do! Give it a few practice runs, get out there with certainty and it’s inevitable that your success will follow suit!      In This Episode We Talk about:   The No. 1 reason some people succeed and some don’t – even though they’re given the same opportunities The importance of energetic posture Putting a stop to limiting beliefs and stories    Resources:   Now accepting applications for the 2019 For the Love of Money Mastermind. Today I’m going to give you the answer to the question of why your audience might not be growing – regardless of what business you’re in. Brace yourself, it’s really quite simple.   The No. 1 reason your audience isn’t growing is because you’re not putting information and content – that’s shareable – out there. But was does it mean to be truly shareable? It’s about blowing the minds of your current audience so much that they are compelled to share it with their audience – and then their audience becomes your audience. See how this can turn into powerful ripple effect? Your content has to be so DANG good that it practically forces others to share.   Here are three ways to increase your chances: Start creating a better experience. This can happen simply by always having the posture and intent of putting something extraordinary out there. Do it more often. Create, create, create…share, share, share. Ask others to share and give them directions.   That last point may make you feel a bit awkward, but people crave specific directions and certainty. And besides, you likely won’t receive what you don’t ask for, right?   So here’s a little test… go over to Instagram, give me follow @chriswharder and share one of my posts, too. Make sure to tag me so I can send you a thank you! 145: An Amazing Story of Giving vs. Judging

The Chris Harder Show

Play Episode Listen Later Jul 26, 2018 15:00

Lori and I just wrapped up our trip to Europe and wow, it was one of our greatest experiences to date – not just enjoyment wise, but we learned so many things about ourselves and other people.   One particular story and lesson we’ve taken home taught us about perspective on how people think, but don’t take action.   While having lunch in a beautiful square in Spain, we overheard the conversation of a group of women on vacation at a nearby table. They were talking about another person they knew – someone who presumably had a lot of money. They were appalled that someone could buy a $60,000 watch when they could use that money instead to feed people. Of course, my ears perked up because this was clearly a money mindset issue.   But before I go further, please know that by sharing the following story my goal is not to brag; nor is it to judge these women. After all, we’re all on different journeys, right?   “Make a difference, don’t make a judgment.”   Their judgments all come down to perspective. So yes, a $60,000 watch is a great deal of money to an everyday family with an average income. But if this person has $100 million or billion, it likely doesn’t affect how they give. What if they annually give away $50 million? To this particular person, $60,000 may very well be a drop in the bucket compared to the impact they’re making already.   As these women continued discussing, suddenly a beautiful woman entered the square. She was a woman who I could tell was beautiful inside and out, but it was clear that she was mentally and physically challenged – and homeless.   A bit later, we heard this angelic voice sing one of the most moving songs we’d ever heard. We looked around and around and found ourselves looking at this same woman. Our minds were blown and I felt compelled to get up, walk the 500 feet to where she was standing (with a cup in hand for money), and give her 50 Euros. She turned so quickly she dropped the cup filled with coins. I bent down to help her pick it all up and place the 50 Euros in her cup. When she realized what I had given her, her face lit up with a smile so big I couldn’t contain my own, and it was in that moment, even though we didn’t speak each other’s languages, I could see the profound gratitude she felt.   The woman continued to sing and weave her way through the square and eventually made her way near us and toward the table of women. She stopped at our table, rewarding us again with a bright smile, and proceeded onward. With her cup extended for money, these women brushed her (as well as other performers) off. This was a clear example of people preaching and talking about how someone else should give, but when given an opportunity to improve someone else’s life, they didn’t.   I tell you this story to demonstrate that there are a lot of people out there judging, talking and preaching, but all of that adds up to nothing in the lives of people who actually need a handout. What does add up are the people who have a few extra dollars to give in the moment when someone shows up that could be given to.   So, do you want to be one of the talkers or the do'ers? I think you already know what my answer is.   In This Episode We Talk about:   What Chris has discovered on his trip to Europe Making a difference vs. making a judgment Understanding perspective   Resources: Now accepting applications for the 2019 For the Love of Money Mastermind. Today we’re talking about the huge difference between being abundant and financially irresponsible. You see so many people want to be abundant but they’re using abundance and increasing their financial thermostat as an excuse.   “Abundance without responsibility is stupidity.”   Sounds harsh, but here’s what I mean. If you’re living outside of your means, perhaps buying high-price items (homes, cars etc.) when you don’t have the secured money to do it, you’re not actually living in abundance. On the contrary, you’re likely attracting more lack, and you feel fraudulent and broke because you’re not ready to spend like that. And let’s be honest, when you’re broke it’s hard to feel abundant.   I can talk about this firsthand because Lori and I were once living this way. We had the house and the cars, but the recession it and we felt the complete opposite of abundant. It’s my hope that by sharing this that you’ll remember this lesson and avoid going through something similar.   So how do you know when to feel abundant and buy nice things, or when to hold back? It sounds too easy, but your soul knows. Your gut knows. Tune in and listen to what it feels like when you’re going to make a purchase.   To help keep it on your radar, I’ve come up with seven simple rules/steps that will help clue you if you’re ready to start spending more.   Set aside an emergency fund that covers one month of expenses. Work to stop buying anything with unsecured debt (credit cards) that you’re not going to pay off right away. If you have unsecured debt, start paying it off as quickly as you can. This is also the point where I believe you should start working in an occasional splurge (I don’t like the all or nothing approach). Focus on your savings by working up to 6 months’ worth of expenses Once you’ve reached a savings of 1 years’ worth of expenses – start funding your retirement. The 1-Year Rule. At this point, once you can buy and want a bigger-ticket item, wait ONE year, then buy it. Want to speed up the above process? Invent more income!   Once you start doing the above, I know you will attract true abundance and in turn do great things for yourself – and others!     In This Episode We Talk about:   The difference between being abundant or financially irresponsible Being aware of your financial patterns 7 rules that help you know when you can start treating yourself     Resources:   Now accepting applications for the 2019 For the Love of Money Mastermind. Picture it… You receive your monthly credit card statement, open it and find that the balance due is a quarter million dollars! You’d be blown away, right? Well, let me tell you... I sure was. At first, I felt instant feelings of anger, panic…and scarcity. Yes, I still have flashes of that money mindset belief, but this one knocked the wind out of me. I wasn’t expecting that balance – honestly, it wasn’t even on my radar. My range of emotions went from holy crap – $250K could buy me a nice home in my hometown of Green Bay, WI to how the hell did we spend that much money in 30 days? Were we spending irresponsibly? Will this be the new norm? Then, I slowed that train down and realized we had a lot of expenses last month. I hosted my mastermind group and we go ALL out. We spent two weeks away on Lori’s book tour with our team. Add to that social media ads for the book, a charity donation, international travel and more…well, I’d say we got an awful lot for that quarter million.  So I reversed that scarcity mindset and instead used it as a moment to practice abundance and celebrate it. It was up to me to take this opportunity and zero in on how fortunate we are to have the money to pay this bill and to see just how far we’ve come over the years. Not to mention how many AMEX points we’re getting out of this bill, too! ;-)   It was time to practice what I teach and turn this into a celebratory moment. While I had 30 days to pay my bill, I made the decision to pay it right then and there – because I could. I put on some happy music, poured myself a glass of scotch whiskey and paid it in full. Why put off paying it when it will only put out signals of lack and fear to the universe?   While some may be critical of my transparency, I didn’t share this story to be criticized. I shared it to demonstrate that we all still struggle with our money mindset beliefs. Will these beliefs ever go away? No, but you’ll learn to handle them more quickly and with more ease because you have the tools to walk you through them.   I hope this episode inspires YOU to celebrate each and every one of your wins – big and small. This week, while going through the decision-making process of buying a new car, I had a surprising moment of self-discovery... I still struggle with my money mindset. Let me know if you can relate.   Many of you know, that I previously owned a Ferrari, and it was a dream come true to own one. However, there were a couple reasons why this car just wasn’t working for me anymore.   Lori didn’t enjoy the Ferrari like I did. Being more of a race car, it’s not as comfortable, loud and just different to drive. She did like it and tolerated riding in it because she knew how much I loved it.   Full honesty, there were a lot of times where I just felt weird about driving it. You’d either have people yelling nasty comments or others who when stopped at a light snapped pictures like paparazzi. It was a lot of extra attention and it didn’t always feel good.   Here was my dilemma though, and where I still realized I struggled with money mindset. I had some resistance around letting my Ferrari go, because letting that go meant I was also getting rid of that attention because even though it sometimes annoyed me and I loved it, too. By parting with the Ferrari, I was letting go of part of my perceived significance and what it represented.   And that’s when it hit me. I wasn’t being unapologetic about wealth! I was letting what others thing influence my feelings – and this is exactly why I do a podcast around money mindset! You teach what you need help with the most, am I right?   “We are all significance-seeking machines.”   And this is OK! It doesn’t matter what significance we seek as long as it fits in with your moral compass and how you want to show up in the world. So if you haven’t mastered your money mindset yet, don’t beat yourself up – I haven’t either! No one has.   “Growth is the goal – not perfection.”   I obviously still have small money mindset battles in my head, but I’m learning from every one of them – and I know you will too.  In This Episode We Talk about:   How Chris discovered that he still struggles with money mindset Why we’re all searching for significance Growth over perfection  Resources:   Now accepting applications for the 2019 For the Love of Money Mastermind. Here’s one of the main reasons… they STAND OUT!    Full honesty, it’s hard to stand out today. There’s so much going on in social media and there are so many people doing similar things, so you need to find a unique way to get noticed.   “Crack the code and find out how to stand out to get your message heard.”   It’s all about grabbing someone’s attention by flashing something “shiny.” Lori and I sometimes call it the “bait and switch.” For example, Lori will show an image of herself that shows her abs, but instead of talking about fitness she’ll talk about self-development and what she’s passionate about teaching. It’s all about getting people to take noticed and then teaching or telling your message.   If you don’t want to be invisible, it’s imperative that you stand out. And this doesn’t just apply to social media, it applies to everyday life, too. Make sure what you’re putting out there not only gets you noticed, but supports your message.   “If you don’t catch people’s attention, your great efforts to create impact will not be seen.”   Here are a couple tips to help you get started: Get resourceful. This means ZERO excuses. It’s not about what you have, it’s about using what you’ve got. It’s about everything that makes you, YOU – your unique style, manners, sense of humor etc.   Stop being so humble! Nobody is SEEING you. Stop worrying what other people are going to think and share your message. The right people will see it – trust in this.   It’s time for you to stand out in order to stand up! Today’s topic can be a taboo topic to talk about because there are so many conflicting opinions out there as to why a person shouldn’t or can’t change their mind. While I completely agree that you can’t change your mind on a regular basis, I also believe that if you don’t like the path you’re on, it’s OK to change your mind and get off it. In fact, in this episode, I’m giving you “permission!”   There are a couple moments in my life when I did the unthinkable and changed my mind – and they weren’t small decisions at all. The first is my brief stint in college. I didn’t want to be there. I wanted to be out in the world and making money, but I also wanted to make my parents happy. So I stayed and sabotaged my grades by not engaging (Books? Who needs those?) and excessive partying. Needless to say, I was kicked out.   I share this story with you for two reasons… Don’t take the roundabout way. Take the direct route. I was right! I made it to the outside world and made $75K in small-town WI – 20 years ago!   Another impactful decision I made was to leave the small investment company I helped found. While we were very successful, it just never felt “right.” Fortunately, I learned from the past and had a talk with my partner and bowed out of the business. FYI – this business has since done billions of dollars in investments. It goes to show you that it’s not always about the money – it’s about what makes you feel the best, too.   “A lot of money in itself isn’t necessarily worth it – fulfilling money in itself always is.”   Be prepared though. When you change your mind abruptly you’ll likely have to change your mindset around different things as well. With big decisions often come many mini decisions to help support them. Whether it’s your spending habits, living situation or lifestyle… nothing is off limits. But if it’s keeping you on your path, it’s worth it.   “It’s OK to change your mind just for YOU.”   When you follow your intuition and what feels right, good things are bound to come your way. Wherever you’re stuck – be it in a relationship, your career etc., it’s within your power to change it. How empowering is that?   It is my hope that this episode gives you permission to change your mind when the path doesn’t feel right. Saying you need something comes from a place of lack, and we know that we don’t operate from that place, right?   We all have individual talents and abilities and we need to share them. Sure, there may be someone else or another company who’s doing something similar, but they’re not YOU. So before you let your inner dialogue run away with phrases of lack (I’m not good enough; no one wants what I have to offer etc.), realize that there are 7 billion possible takers in this world… The odds are clearly in your favor.   “There is more than enough to go around.”   Isn’t that empowering to think that there’s just people who haven’t found you yet? But don’t get lazy… it’s still your no. 1 job to find these people. Do the work, outreach, marketing and whatever else you need to do to make it happen.   In This Episode We Talk about:   Why people need you more than you think Why it’s your job to find these people Banishing the negative self-talk around your skill, product etc. Resources:   Now accepting applications for the 2019 For the Love of Money Mastermind.   I’m addressing another popular question today and that’s, “What do your mornings look like?” Let me start by saying that I think having rituals (whether they’re in the morning, mid-day or evening) are vitally important to a person’s success. These rituals are crucial to my and Lori’s self-care, and let’s be real, our sanity! Personally, mornings work the best for me.   “There is no easier time to take control of your day than in the first 30 minutes of the day.”   Think about it… the first 30 minutes of your day are the easiest to control. For me, it’s the first two hours, but that’s the time that Lori and I have carved out of our day as “protected time.” We put ourselves first so we can be the best versions of ourselves for others the rest of the day.   Here’s what the first part of the day looks like for me:   Wake up and immediately say my mantra: “I am happier, healthier, wealthier and more fit than I was yesterday.” 60-90 second prayer of what I’m grateful for. This list varies and is very child-like, but it really does set the tone of my thoughts for the day (hello, gratitude and possibility!). Pages before Swipes + COFFEE! OK, the coffee is optional, of course, but it’s mandatory in our house! ;-) This is my and Lori’s rule of reading a minimum of 10 pages before we hit our emails or social media. You never know what you will read or see that can send your day into a tailspin before it even gets started. This has been a game-changer! We used to do 20-30 minutes…or nothing, but recently realized that even 5-10 minutes is plenty to help visualize our day. Something is always better than nothing.               “What matters is the consistency, not the amount of time.” Moving my body. This is a staple of my success and every single day, there is at least one block of time where I’m going to get sweaty.   After we’re done working out, we get home, rinse off, and that marks the end of our “protected time.” We start our day. Final words...   “Dictate your day and your thoughts.”   Again, I realize that not everyone has the flexibility in their lives to commit to this same schedule, but aside from the workout, this is roughly a half hour of time that can help you start your day right. Don’t leave your day to chance. Wake up earlier, break it into multiple smaller chunks of time throughout the day – just do what you can to control your day.     In This Episode We Talk about:   Why the first 30 minutes of the day is the best time to sneak in morning rituals Chris’ morning rituals Chris and Lori’s “protected time”    Resources:   Now accepting applications for the 2019 For the Love of Money Mastermind. Today’s topic may be considered controversial by some and I may get judged for it. On the other hand, some may actually like it and have a breakthrough. Whichever reaction this episode sparks in you, I just want to clarify that my podcast is all about understanding how wealthy people think and giving you alternate ways of thinking when it comes to your views on money and how you want to embrace and pursue it. The following story is just one way to personify how wealthy individuals think and act vs. how the everyday person does.   So, Lori and I went surfing this past weekend to recharge. We drove down to the beach, unloaded our boards and proceeded to the parking ticket line. Because it was a weekend, you can imagine the line was long (about 11 people deep from our position). Quickly figuring out that it was taking each person around 5 minutes to get their ticket, I knew I didn’t want to waste nearly an hour to get ours. So, I walked over to the ticket attendant and asked what the fine would be if we didn’t have a ticket. He said $50. With a ticket price of $15, I made the decision to park the truck without a ticket and pay the extra $35.   Why? Simply put, the extra $35 wasn’t worth my time. Nor was it worth getting ticked off and potentially putting a damper on our day.   “Sometimes rules are just guidelines – depending on what your values are.”   Now I’m sure there were some people in line that saw me speak to the attendant and then park my car without a ticket, and thought, “what a rich asshole.” But the fact of the matter is, I was just making a decision based on the result of my time/money equation.   “Is it worth X amount of dollars for me to do Y?”   Time is the most valuable thing you have, so use it wisely. I would love to hear your thoughts on this lesson. Please share if you had a breakthrough or if you think I should have followed the rules. I love hearing all perspectives.      In This Episode We Talk about:   Chris’ parking meter story Placing a higher value on your time How wealthy people think and act vs. the everyday person   Resources:   Now accepting applications for the 2019 For the Love of Money Mastermind. Today, I want to tell you a story about a Ferrari, a landscaper and a dent. I normally wouldn’t call out the make of the car involved in this story, but the fact that the car is a Ferrari is of significance and represents all the hard work I’ve put in to own it.   This story was set into motion while getting my hair cut, like I do every two weeks. I park in the same small parking lot that has an attendant, but this time, the attendant had some bad news when I came back. Someone had backed into my car resulting in a dent and scratch.   Of course my first reaction to this was anger, but I quickly caught it and reframed. Amazingly, the attendant was super proactive and got the information of the man who’d backed into my car. He was a landscaper with an old broken-down truck. As soon as I got in my car, however, my struggle began. Who pays for this $2-3,000 repair? It wasn’t my fault, but this hard-working landscaper was likely not going to be in a position to pay it.   I called this man and he immediately took responsibility and wanted to pay for the damage. While speaking through broken English, he offered to pay cash. When I told him the amount though, he sighed. That was a lot of money to him, so he would instead need to make an insurance claim to pay for it.     So here’s the dilemma. It was his fault, but did I really want to put this burden to pay when it would put such a strain on him? And furthermore, if he did indeed file a claim, it would cost him at least $500-$1,000 for his deductible (and a premium increase) and cost me a ton more of my time and energy until the insurance company figured it out. So I made the decision to pay the repair cost because I can, and because I can do it so much easier than he can.   “Too many people are chasing pennies instead of using that time to create dollars.”   I don’t want to be one of those people. I don’t want to feel bad energy or waste any of my time while I can be doing other more, high-energy, money-making things.   “Do what’s right, not righteous.”   Maybe it’s not always easy, but it’s karmically better for you.   “I am in this position because I’ve always made decisions like this – even when I couldn’t do so as easily.”   And when you consistently create a pattern of decisions like this, you will experience wealth – in all forms – far beyond your wildest dreams. When have you given up the opportunity to be righteous and done what’s right instead?      In This Episode We Talk about:   Retraining your mind to have an attitude of abundance. There are many things that can hold you back from accumulating wealth, but today, I want to cross one of those off the list. I’m going to prove that if you have more, it doesn’t mean that someone else has less.   You know that saying, “your slice of the pie?” It makes it sound like there’s only so much pie and if someone gets a bigger piece, another gets less. Ok, if we’re talking literal pie, yes, this is true. But from a wealth perspective, wealth is NOT a pie. It’s a living, growing, shrinking and expanding organism. So comparing wealth to a pie doesn’t work. And if you think it does, it’s only going to hold you back from accumulating wealth because you’ll think someone else is getting hurt if you do.   “Wealth accumulation is not a zero-sum game.”   Hundreds of years ago, land was the biggest measurement of wealth. The more land you had meant that someone else had less or you bought it from them. But today, we’re so fortunate because there are so many different ways to accumulate wealth.   “Wealth is always being created.”   Here are a few examples of what I mean: There is always something to sell. Products, ideas, services etc. – you name it. Even your salary job. You’re selling your time/skillset for money and in return, you create something for your boss to then sell and make money. Events and eCourses. Let’s say Susy goes to an event or buys an eCourse for $500. Susy isn’t poorer, she’s actually gained value and could maybe further turn that value into $100K because of what she learned.   “Value is nothing more than an amount that we all agree it to be.”   At the end of the day, just know that there is an endless amount wealth available and your ability to create wealth determines how wealthy you’ll be. You are entitled to as much as you learn to create – without taking anything away from anyone else.   In This Episode We Talk about:   Different ways to accumulate and measure wealth How wealth is always being created Supply and demand and how it affects wealth   Resources:   Ready to turn your 6-figure income into a 7-figure income?   Today’s episode is all about busting through a limiting belief that you may not even know you have. In fact, this very belief may even be holding you back from greater success. Here it is… So many people think that we’re supposed to feel good ALL the time on the quest of entrepreneurship. OK, I’m not saying I want you to feel crappy about it, but here are my thoughts on it.   The journey of entrepreneurship isn’t supposed to feel good. I know it sounds crazy, but full honesty, a large portion of the time we don’t know what we’re doing, it feels clunky or awkward and we fail a ton! But unfortunately, we all live in the era of social media where we all see everyone’s highlight reels. I’m all for this, because I feel like I’m pretty happy most of the time, but I also know that I feel frustrated, under-motivated or have a ton of work to get done – and I try to share that with my followers as well.   “The wins are not the entire picture of reality.”   I feel it is so important to understand the full circle of entrepreneurship – the ups, downs and in-betweens. The problem is that we’ve all been conditioned to think that when we mess up or haven’t gotten it all figured out we think we’re doing it wrong. Hint… You’re NOT!   Reality check. Think of the person you love to follow on IG. If you think they have X followers, now cut that in half to get the real number. Don’t get discouraged! You’re figuring it out just like the rest of us. Go into things without abandon and try new things without fear of failure.   “If you’re not failing at all, you’re probably doing it wrong.”   Let’s go into 2018 by getting real and sharing all side of entrepreneurship. Use this mantra as a reminder!   “It’s OK to be silly, to feel silly and look silly.”     In This Episode You Will Learn:   Why feeling good all the time about entrepreneurship isn’t necessarily a guarantee for success What the reality of entrepreneurship really looks like Why we’ve been conditioned to think we’re doing it wrong.   Resources:   For the Love of Money Mastermind – 2018 http://Fortheloveofmoney.com/mastermind For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

Words are more powerful than we realize, but today I’m going I’m specifically highlighting eight words that may be crippling your success. We all use them without realizing it and often don’t even intend to use them. So let’s start 2018 right and kick the following words out of our vocabulary and watch as you see an uptick in your success.   TRY – You’ll either do something or you won’t. By saying “try” you’re already building in an excuse. Do or do not – those are your choices.   MAYBE – By using this word, you’re telling others that you have no intent on following through, which can lead to feeling overwhelmed. Make this the year of YES or NO – period.   SOON – This instantly puts something off until “later.” This word is also a wake-up call you’ve committed to too many things and you must cut what’s not serving you.   POSSIBLY – The word says, “if I feel like it, I’ll do it.” You’re not fully committed to anything and you’re feeling overbooked and stressed. Make a commitment.   IF – If means you’re putting a condition on following through and that doesn’t make you an ideal business partner.   “Nobody wants to be on the other side of your if.”   BECAUSE – This word acts as a justifier – and excuse. “I can’t meet with that person because…” You shouldn’t have to talk endlessly about why you can’t.   “YES and NO are complete sentences.”   WANT – This is probably the most important word to kick to the curb… The word indicates lack and if you’re a frequent listener, you know we shoot for abundance. Using this word means there’s a disconnect between what you want and what you desire.   “Things only appear once you know how to make them certain.”   LUCKY – Last but still impactful, simply put I don’t believe in luck, I believe in good fortune. And using this word puts you in a powerless position.   There you have it! Do you notice these words used frequently in your day-to-day interactions? If so, share with me on IG (@chriswharder) and let me know what you’ll replace them with!     In This Episode You Will Learn:   The eight words that we must eliminate from our vocabulary in 2018 Why being certain in your decisions makes you an ideal business partner And much more…   Resources:   For the Love of Money Mastermind – 2018 http://Fortheloveofmoney.com/mastermind   For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

Can you believe it? This is my last official quickie of 2017! What a ride 2017 was. And before I get into things here, and no matter what happened, I want you to acknowledge everything that happened – good and bad – and how it’s helped you learn.   Try to reframe the word failure, because it’s not always about winning or failing, it’s about learning or… learning. Yes! Can you we agree to take the word failure out of our vocabulary? As Nelson Mandela once said, “I don’t lose. I either win or learn.”   We need the contrast to help guide us where to go next. Personally, there we several things that I hoped to accomplish or have a different outcome within 2017, but it just made me realize that those dips and darkness were needed to amplify all the good things.   “The failures just tell you what to do next.”   And it was often the opposite of what I thought. Whether you lost a business, a friendship or a relationship, you learned. We are always learning and all the things we learn only help us live in our purpose. But here’s the thing, in order to realize all this, we need to find the courage to go against the grain. We need to say no. We need to do things that challenge what others say is the right thing to do.   You don’t need new goals; you just need to have the courage to say no to things that aren’t elevating your life. And trust me, it’s not going to be easy, but when you really dig deep and think outside the box, you can say truthfully that you lived a life that fully made you expand into the human you were meant to be.   “Step into your courage and into your truth.”   Wishing you abundance and bravery in 2018 – I cannot wait to see you rock your life!   -- In This Episode You Will Learn:   Why failures are part of our success How deeper courage won’t show up until you call upon it Why you don’t necessarily need new goals to live in your highest purpose   Resources:   2018 For the Love of Money Mastermind http://fortheloveofmoney.com/mastermind   Check out my website at loriharder.com. I don’t know about you, but I love when the end of the year approaches. I get super excited about the holidays (which many of you know), but what some you don’t know is that I get super stoked about sitting down with Lori on New Year’s Eve to go over the year’s highs and lows and planning out our yearly income for the upcoming year. It’s such a great practice and today, I’m going to share that exact plan that we’ve been using (with success) for the past several years. “Why leave it up to chance when you can call your shot, plan what you want to make and make it happen.” This year, I want you too to take control of your abundance, and part of that process is to pick your target income number. Full disclosure, Lori and I have never met our exact number, but we’re also consistently choosing a number that reflects massive growth over the year before. But don’t let that worry you… As they say, “shoot for the stars and land on the moon.” “When you have the number picked out and you’re serious about it then your actions naturally follow suit to ensure that you hit it.  Keep in mind that it is imperative to pick a number that challenges your current income. “By not changing your goals or plan, you’re automatically choosing by default your current situation.” Once that number is chosen, you’ll work backward to figure out how you’re going to reach it. As long as you’re committed to that number, you’d be surprised at all the different income sources that pop up. “There are so many ways to make money, you just have to commit to finding them.” Draw on your skillset to create products or programs and fill in the gaps. Whether it’s ebooks, podcasts, mastermind groups or affiliate programs, you can exceed your current income and reach your goals (or come pretty darn close to them). Here’s one example of how to get to $100,000 if you’re currently bringing in $60,000: Current yearly income = $60,000 You decide to create a coaching program that costs $100/week for one year. 4 clients = $20,000 The coaching was in high demand so you create an e-course which costs $99. You sell 202 e-courses over the year equaling $20,000 $60,000 + $20,000 + $20,000 = $100,000  YOU DID IT! Again, this is only an example. As I mentioned above, there are so many more ways to make extra income. But it just proves how essential your actions are if you want to reach a specific number. I firmly believe that “What you make next year is no accident – it is intentional.” Best of luck in 2018 – I’ll be cheering you on! In This Episode You Will Learn:   The exact plan that Lori and I use to map out our yearly income How to pick out your number and work backward to hit your goal How you’re already asking for the income you’re getting without asking About detailed hypothetical scenarios that can lead you to $100,000 or $1 million And much more…   Resources:   For the Love of Money Mastermind – 2018 http://Fortheloveofmoney.com/mastermind For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.
