THE SHOW HAS ENDED THESE ARE PATREON EXCLUSIVE EPISODES COMING OUT OF THE VAULT! This special Sunday presentation of previously unreleased movie epidemic footage. The most wonderful time of the year, it's Garbage Epidemic the show where we break down the worst films ever made and boy do we have a doozy for you today. Neil Breen is a complete wild man making one of the most nonsensical things ever put on screen. Go watch it on pornhub. Back to our regularly scheduled programming, no festivals, no lists, just an hour of film criticism. We got two fresh netflix offerings, or maybe sour offering. Ones a doc called Athlete A and the other is a long winded Will Farrell comedy? I put a question mark because there is no jokes in it. We also watch a redbox original starring Kevin James as a neo-nazi in a movie called Becky. Finally, we agreed at some point that July was Denis Villeneuve month so we are kicking things off with Enemy.
This is our 300th episode special at glorious number 302. Buck and Chadley recap their personal top 50 films and reflect on if we were too mean to some of the movies we reviewed during the film festival. THis is a celebration of film, and I can guarantee there will not be another 300 episodes.
Well that's a wrap on CUFF 2020 and I do think this is the angriest Chadley has ever been about a movie on this podcast. A true achievement. We have Chad's favourite of the festival Nobadi, and the best Documentary of the fest with Narrowsburg. Finally fresh film has come back to... MOVIE EPIDEMIC. This week we are enjoying a new Spike Lee Joint, with Netflixs Da 5 Bloods. Can you believe Disney even allowed Artemis Fowl to come out in its current form. Pete Davidson and Judd Apatow bring us the new film King of Staten Island and finally we close out George Miller Month with his small section of Twilight Zone The Movie.
Simon Belmont is finally making his first appearance on Remember The Game? The fact that it took 101 episodes to happen is unforgivable, but we're gonna right some wrongs in the next hundred episodes. Plus, Super Castlevania IV steamrolled the competition and took down last month's Patreon Poll, so here you go. This game kicks some serious ass. I've always liked and respected the Castlevania games, but I never really put any time into finishing one until now. Thanks to my handy SNES Classic, I can say that I've beaten a Castlevania game, and damned if it doesn't make me want to add more to my resume. (Looking at you, Symphony of the Night...) Co-host of The Movie Epidemic podcast Bradley McCue was kind enough to give me a call and talk Super Castlevania IV, and if you like fast talking blowhards rambling on about kick ass video games from 30 years ago, get comfy. If that's all you're here for, skip to 18:00. Or eat all your dinner and listen to the entire show. We roll out a brand new segment this week! Which involves your reaction to the Playstation 5 reveal. I have a few thoughts about it myself, including the odd design of the system and the games that looked the most interesting to me. I also talk about the gaming blackhole I'm wallowing in while I wait for The Last of Us Part II. Just another day at Remember The Game? Industries. Enjoy the podcast!
Checking out the free to rent film Just Mercy with our boy Michael Basketball Jordan. The Paramount film that they pawned off to Netflix. We also got a Prime Original with The Vast of Night. Finally we talk Mad Max 2, The MF Road Warrior. Buck Hollywood has finally got the covid. We talk Black Lives Matter, and some movies. Netflix picks with The Wrong Missy and Have A Good Trip: Adventures In Psychedelics.Shudder is also still making movies so we got Blood Machines. It's also a new month so that means new Director, George Miller. Starting off with Mad Max.
Week 10 of quarantine and it just rolls on, we are taking some fresh Trank with Tom Hardy in Capone. We also have a brand new Netflix teen rom com that is hot garbage, and a Chilean arthouse flick Ema. David Fincher month comes to a screeching halt with The Social Network. Visit our Website: http://movieepidemic.com/ Find us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/MovieEpidemic Buck Twitter: https://twitter.com/lastcooldude Chadley Twitter: https://twitter.com/chadleythemovie Buck Letterboxd: https://letterboxd.com/lastcooldude/ Chadley Letterboxd: https://letterboxd.com/charliefox/
RIP another week in quarantine, and another set of films. This week we are talking the talk of the town Scoob! We also have the HBO film Bad Education and the Shudder series Cursed Films. David Fincher Month continues with The Game. Visit our Website: http://movieepidemic.com/ Find us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/MovieEpidemic Buck Twitter: https://twitter.com/lastcooldude Chadley Twitter: https://twitter.com/chadleythemovie Buck Letterboxd: https://letterboxd.com/lastcooldude/ Chadley Letterboxd: https://letterboxd.com/charliefox/
Everybody loves video games, well I don't but I hear people do. This is the video game movie episode featuring a way to long Mortal Kombat title, a Rockless Doom adaptation, and Uwe's finest offering. It's also david Fincher month so we can watch our one good weekly movie. Visit our Website: http://movieepidemic.com/ Find us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/MovieEpidemic Buck Twitter: https://twitter.com/lastcooldude Chadley Twitter: https://twitter.com/chadleythemovie Buck Letterboxd: https://letterboxd.com/lastcooldude/ Chadley Letterboxd: https://letterboxd.com/charliefox/
Long titles with people's names in them today, Brahms, John F. Donovan, Brittany, and Dragon. Not much going on in the world of movies so we are watching The Boy Sequel. We also got a amazon original directed by some random person that knew the subject of the film. We also got a fresh Xavier Dolan film hot off the presses The Death & Life of John F. Donovan. It's David Fincher month gang and we are talking the 3 hour mystery The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
We haven't shown the Game Boy Advance nearly enough love on this show. That's because I barely played mine back in it's prime, unfortunately. But one of the few GBA games I DID play (and love) is Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. If that's all you're here for, skip to 14:40. This bad boy launched the "Mario & Luigi Handheld RPG" series, and along with the Paper Mario games, is the spiritual successor to legendary Super Mario RPG. It's full of charm, fun battle mechanics, overworked puzzle solving, and of course, Mario & Luigi. I haven't played this game in probably fifteen years, and I still have a great fondness for it. It had a lasting affect on me, and it's generally considered one of the best games in the historic GBA library - for good reason. My guest this week is Bradley McCue from The Movie Epidemic podcast, and we had a great time talking about Mario & Luigi's quest to rescue Princess Peach's voice. And before we get into this week's game, I have to ramble, of course. This month's Patreon poll is live, and you have a chance to pick one of the games we'll cover in an upcoming episode! Also, more news has come out regarding the Last of Us Part 2 leaks, and I get mad about all you spoiler asshats again. I also rant about stupid kids on Reddit, and what life would have been like if social media had existed during the SNES/Sega Genesis wars. And Microsoft is giving us more info about the Series X this week! Where the hell is Sony??? Wash your hands, clean your controllers, look out for giant hornets, and enjoy this week's show!
Hey, Hey, Hey it's Movie Epidemic. We got a jam packed episode with 25 minute discussion on Blumhouse's newest atrocity Fantasy Island. Don't worry we also have good Horror from Shudder, with a bunch of famous children in Daniel Isn't Real. Ben Affleck is back in some sort of sports movie with a generic name with his big bloated red alcoholic head. Welcome to David Fincher month we got a classic with Zodiac, and it's long!
Having a rip snortin good time talking about some 90's nostalgia cash in movies. First you we have a new rotten entry to the View Askewniverse with Kevin Smith's Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. John Turturro makes a european s*x pest movie. Kristen Stewart is working hard this year with Underwater, and that's a wrap from Kurosawa month with the 1985 epic Ran. Visit our Website: http://movieepidemic.com/ Find us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/MovieEpidemic Buck Twitter: https://twitter.com/lastcooldude Chadley Twitter: https://twitter.com/chadleythemovie Buck Letterboxd: https://letterboxd.com/lastcooldude/ Chadley Letterboxd: https://letterboxd.com/charliefox/
Your deepest desire is to have a good quality zoom recording. Will we finally meet such a lofty goal. On this episode of the podcast we review a series, and this is a sacred show where we only review movies so this better be good. We also tackle Apple+ first movie The Banker. Harrison Ford is getting frantic, in The Call of the Wild. Kurosawa month rolls on with the pnly cannon Star Wars film we've ever reviewed The Hidden Fortress. Visit our Website: http://movieepidemic.com/ Find us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/MovieEpidemic Buck Twitter: https://twitter.com/lastcooldude Chadley Twitter: https://twitter.com/chadleythemovie Buck Letterboxd: https://letterboxd.com/lastcooldude/ Chadley Letterboxd: https://letterboxd.com/charliefox/
Gear up for another terrible Zoom recording. Please Covid end so i can get good recordings again, I simply beg. We talk Dolittle universal's most horrific offering, and the universal they shat out on to VOD Emma. Swallow is a very strange piece of film, and it's Kurosawa month so we watch Rashomon.
Even if you haven't played Megaman X3, you should still absolutely listen to this episode. Everyone has a played a MM game, so it's easy to follow along, and the music alone makes this worth your time. That said, I love Megaman. But I don't love Megaman X3. It feels like a frustrating (VERY frustrating) incomplete MM game. My guest this week is the Movie Epidemic podcast's Bradley McCue, and we go over the good, the bad, and the ugly of X's third adventure. Angry Adam pops up a couple times too, if you like him. Skip to 23:05 if you're just here for that. Or listen to the whole thing and hear me talk about: - Final Fantasy VII Remake comes out this week!!!! - Last of Us 2 isn't. In fact, we won't see it for a while... - The Messenger is getting a prequel, and it looks like Chrono Trigger! - People are scalping Nintendo Switches again!? And more!
Finally the ROCK has figured out ZOOM. That's right we have a clean record session while talking about s bunch of film that didn't really make it to theaters. Vinny Mac D in Bloodshot doing his Mark Sinclair impression. We finally get a look at banned film The Hunt and all it's terrible glory. Chadleys new favorite movie the Netflix original The Platform. It's Akira Kurosawa month and Buck brought one of the most underrated films he made to the table, it's High and Low.
We uh, are not too good at figuring out how to record remotely anymore. Hopefully it will be better next week! Today on the show we talk netflix original with the Mark Ballberg / Peter Bergy Team number 5 the Spenser Confidential. Doc March comes to a crashing conclusion never to be seen again. We talk Netflix Original Tell Me WHo I AM the most disturbing thing possible, and Amazon Original One Child Nation a milder but also disturbing tale. Billy WIlder month is done, with Kirk Douglas in Ace in the Hole
Quarantine special, Chadley very clearly has coronavirus. He is a breeding ground for the virus, he hasn't even showered in 2020. Since we are not allowed to go to the movies, we will be talking Charlie's Angels instead of the scheduled Bloodshot. It's also Doc March so we are talking Netflix originals. Obama made a documentary about Chinese Business, and we also cover the three part doc on Canadian Serial Killer Luka Magnotta. Billy Wilder month rolls on with intense courtroom drama Witness for the Prosecution.
Nothing comes out in March so the boys are forced to watch a Pixar film, YUCK. That's right we're talking ONWARD. We also get a special visit from Nicholas Michael Jacobs, returning to the pod with his brand new film Tales from Six Feet Under. It's Doc March so we're talking Netflix Original Knock Down the House, and Oscar nominated Doc The Cave. Billy Wilder month rolls on with the classic Noir Double Indemnity.
That's right gang it's Doc March where we do 4 straight weeks of documentaries. As always we cover the biggest new release, and that Blumhouses The Invisible Man. Will it be scary, or are the scares invisible? Documentaries this week include Oscar nom Honeyland, and Netflix Original Bikram yoga doc. March is also Billy Wilder month and it's a big hitter, with the largely parodied Sunset Boulevard.
On this supersized Nic Cagisode the boys talk about SEVEN brand new Nic Cage movies, this guy has been working since our last Cagisode! Featuring the legendary Richard Stanley's return to film with the Color Out of Space. We also talk about a few Johnny Generico Action Flicks such as A Score to Settle, Running with the Devil, Kill Chain, and arguably Primal. Not without it's oddities we also cover Grand Isle and Between Worlds.
Wow now this is a big hitter episode! Highly requested films like Sonic The Hedgehog, fresh off the presses. The most requested film of 2019 that we did everything in our power not to see, yes, it's CATS. The boys also went to premiere of Guns Akimbo in all of it's terrible glory. Don't forget about the Rock doing Devito voice in Jumanji The Next Level. We finish off Spike Lee month with his 3 hour epic, Malcolm X.
On this dire episode Chadley is a second away from death at all times. We do some Oscar talk. We went to an early screening of Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), then didn't review it for two weeks but it bombed so that's okay. Disney dropping a stinky sequel for baby brains and no wonder it bombed, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil. One of our big hitter bombs from last year was Terminator Dark Fate, we finally talk about it. Spike Lee month rolls on with Inside Man.
Strange days, strange movies on the pod this week. Absolutely nothing anyone has ever heard of but we are here to inform the masses. It's terrible horror season so let's dive in to the worst of the bunch with The Turning. Oscar nominated For Sama about the Syrian uprising. Shia LaBeouf's semi-autobiographical take on his early life Honey Boy. It's Spike Lee month with his semi-autobiographical take on his early life Crooklyn.
