There's a golf course in Pullman where dreams tend to get spoken into existence. That's where a young Luke Falk once told his dad, “I want to do what Wayne Dyer does. I want to write books, speak, and help people live to their full potential.”He hadn't even started a full season yet.Today's guest on Y-Option, fueled by 76 — keeping you on the GO GO GO so you never miss a beat, is Luke Falk — the former Washington State walk-on turned Pac-12's all-time passing leader and NFL QB, who's now the author of The Mind Strength Playbook. I have called a handful of games when Luke was the signal caller for WSU and as an ‘Honorary Coug' I've always felt like the edge that is curated in Pullman is something unique. Luke's edge was cultivated by Mike Leach and the style in which Coach Leach taught Luke left an imprint on the QB.When Mike Leach told him, “Play with house money,” Luke didn't fully get it.But Coach Leach was right — freedom creates flow. The moment you stop gripping outcomes so tight, you play loose again. You stop chasing approval and start trusting preparation. That idea anchors his new book, The Mind Strength Playbook: Master your Mind, Elevate Your Game, learning to train the mind the way athletes train their bodies. It's not therapy — it's prehab for your thoughts. He calls it mind strength — a daily discipline of clearing, visualizing, and forgiving so the real you can compete freely.Luke was an elite player, rising coach who has recently transitioned to his life's calling. Our conversation is one that will leave you curious, reflective and for the fans of Luke Falk over the years, extremely proud. For Luke, it's more than football. It's about the evolution from playing scared to playing free. From needing validation to giving yourself permission.Because when you stop playing for approval and start playing with house money, life — and the game — open up again. You can grab Luke's book, The Mind Strength Playbook, on Amazon or through his link supporting Hilinski's Hope.Much love and stay steady,YogiY-Option: College Football with Yogi Roth is a reader-supported publication. Tuesday's 9am hour of Mac & Cube kept on with Matt Zenitz, from CBS Sports, telling us why most names you hear in a coaching search are rumors at best, when injuries should start affecting Playoff seeding, and how Ty Simpson's prospects as an NFL QB have dramatically changed; then, the NBA gets underway tonight and the guys are pick who'll win it all; later, speaking of the NBA, Cole & Greg kick themselves for not becoming NBA players making NBA money; and finally, two truly unreal Bad Box Scores of the Day close out this Tuesday. The week in sports kicked off with chaos and drama across the NFL and MLB. The Bengals stunned the Steelers on a last-second FG, with Flacco and Rodgers lighting it up, though Rodgers lost it when an offensive lineman tackled him mid-celebration. Gio slammed the league's weak defenses, warning anyone can beat anyone, while the Broncos struggled returning from London. MLB action saw the Blue Jays even their series 2-2 with a Vlad homer, the Dodgers keep winning without Ohtani, and Scherzer refusing to leave the mound as the Brewers fall 3-0. Off the field, Cashman fired back at Jeter and A-Rod's digs at the Yankees, the Mets debate Pete Alonso's future. Jets face pressure this week with Justin Fields needing to deliver against the Panthers, and NFL QBs once again flop in New York only to shine elsewhere, much to Boomer's amusement that the Giants gave Dart time to watch before playing. The week closed with explosive leaked audio of Belichick getting micromanaged by Jordon Hudson and trashing the crew, Al & Eddie dropping a new Cam Skattebo song, and our revamped Week 7 NFL picks ready to shake things up.

In the early hours of Oct 4, 2025 in downtown Indianapolis, former NFL QB and Fox Sports analyst Mark Sanchez got into a confrontation with Perry Tole, a 69-year-old truck driver collecting used cooking oil. The dispute reportedly started over blocked access/parking near an alley. During the struggle, Tole pepper-sprayed Sanchez and then stabbed him multiple times, saying it was self-defense after Sanchez allegedly tried to get into his truck and attacked him. Sanchez fled and was later hospitalized with serious injuries. Sanchez was arrested and initially booked on misdemeanors; prosecutors have since upgraded to felony battery resulting in serious bodily injury (a charge that can carry 1–6 years if convicted). Authorities say parts of the incident were captured on video. Tole has filed a civil lawsuit seeking damages against Sanchez and Fox over alleged permanent disfigurement and other injuries.
