Hour 1 covers a wide range across the sports landscape as the Heat roll past the Bulls with the NBA trade deadline looming on Thursday and Giannis rumors continuing to swirl. With Super Bowl week underway, Joe circles back to a familiar theme: the Dolphins' never-ending search for a franchise quarterback in a league facing a true QB shortage, as the new Green Bay-influenced regime begins cleaning up a messy situation. The Panthers continue to battle injuries, including the irreplaceable Aleksander Barkov, while several players prepare for the upcoming Winter Olympics. The Dolphins also hire Sean Duggan as defensive coordinator, prompting discussion about new coaches bringing in familiar faces and why head coach Jeff Hafley will ultimately be calling the defensive shots. The hour wraps with broader NFL talk, including the possibility of an 18th game and coaching diversity questions.

Listen to hour 2 of Fan After Dark, where Fred and Blake debate Sam Darnold as a top 5 NFL QB, Blake It Or Leave it is back!
Jason explores whether Mike Vrabel, Mike Macdonald, Sam Darnold, and Drake Maye drove a stake into the heart of NFL black worship and idolatry. In the year of the black quarterback in professional football, white coaches paired with white quarterbacks dominated the NFL. Look no farther than Sunday's AFC and NFC Championships. Twelve NFL teams featured white QBs paired with white coaches. Of those 12, only the Cincinnati Bengals and Indianapolis Colts (with injured QBs), had a losing record. The combined regular-season record of those 12 teams was 134-70. Across football, it was a bad year for black racial idolatry. Deion Sanders went 3-9. Penn State fired James Franklin. Sherrone Moore torched his personal life and career at Michigan. Mike Tomlin exited Pittsburgh without a press conference and amid nasty rumors about his personal life. The regular-season win-loss record for black NFL QBs was embarrassing. And media race-baiters Stephen A. Smith, Cam Newton, Ryan Clark, Jemele Hill, and Josina Anderson made utter fools of themselves. Jason argues that "black culture" has baited too many black people to abandon winning Christian values for the losing values of racial idolatry. It's an amazing episode of "Fearless," with Steve Kim. -Dirty's Daily: Texans TAPE-DROP Tues with Our Former NFL Quarterback! -Can Indiana's Now National Champ QB Fernando Mendoza be an NFL Franchise QB -The GLARING, Clear-Cut, #1 Problem for this Houston Texan Offense..
Yeah, we probably like our quarterback more than other people around the country, but the narrative circulating in the national ranks yesterday was just plain lazy- no, Sam is not a liability for the Seahawks in the playoffs. 14 interceptions and 6 lost fumbles- that's all anyone focuses on, not the fact that his team is winning and Sam is doing his part to help them get there. He was only 20 years old when he came into the league and he went to a crappy team, so it's highly probably that he wasn't getting what he needed to grow as an NFL QB in NY and Carolina. :30- Bad news anti-analytics people: if you want King Felix to get into the Hall of Fame, you're going to have to support the analytics, because that's how he will get there. Yesterday was very promising for Felix Hernandez as he saw the biggest jump in vote percentage from year 1 on the ballot to year 2 since 1967 going from 20.6% last year to 46.1% this year. :45- Walker's workload has been kept fairly low all season long as he split carries with Zach Charbonnet, but now, that's not an option with Charbs out. How many carries should Walker get on Sunday? A lot more! See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Welcome to a high-octane episode of Running it Back, where the lessons of sports leadership meet the chaos of the 2026 NFL postseason. Host Mike Palmer is joined by Tarlin Ray and Isaac Tellechea to break down the systems, the carousels, and the "crocodile tears" defining this year's quarterback drama. QUICK CHECK-IN Tarlin gives a brief update on his upcoming hip replacement surgery. He is navigating a five-day prep window—which includes boarding his dog, Chia, to keep the recovery environment germ-free. QUARTERBACK CONTROVERSIES AND LESSONS LEARNED The episode's namesake harkens back to Terrell Owens' infamous defense of Tony Romo. The crew uses this lens to examine today's leadership dynamics: THE SUNK COST OF TUA: The Dolphins' season is a "train wreck," leaving Tua Tagovailoa as an emergency third-stringer despite his massive contract. THE SYSTEM VS. THE TALENT: The crew debates if organizations fail quarterbacks more than the other way around. BRYCE YOUNG AND DREW BREES: Tarlin draws a parallel between Bryce Young and a young Drew Brees, arguing that elite "closers" need the right offensive coordinator to unlock their potential. THE CALEB WILLIAMS BLUEPRINT: In Chicago, Ben Johnson is credited with "speeding up" Caleb Williams by forcing faster decision-making. DURABILITY IS THE TOP ABILITY: Mike emphasizes that while talent is great, durability is the ultimate asset, comparing the "horse" that is Josh Allen to the injury concerns surrounding Jaxon Dart and Tua. 2026 PLAYOFF AND SUPER BOWL PREDICTIONS With heavyweights like Mahomes and Burrow out of the mix, the path to the Lombardi is wide open. Who do we got? Listen in to find out... "Josh Allen is like Jon Snow pulling the sword out for the big battle *Battle of the Bastards),. If you extend that analogy, then, clearly Matthew Stafford is clearly the Night King." — Mike Palmer. TIMESTAMPS 00:00:00 - Intro and Tarlin's medical update. 00:08:00 - The "That's My Quarterback" origin story. 00:15:00 - The Tua Tagovailoa tragedy in Miami and "Kafkaesque" Giants. 00:27:00 - John Elway, Drew Brees, and the importance of QB development time. 00:33:00 - The "Ben Johnson Effect" in Chicago. 00:39:00 - Super Bowl picks and Josh Allen's legacy.

Joe and Hollywood break down the thrilling Fiesta Bowl, including the controversial no-call on the final play, ultimately agreeing it was the right call. The segment praises Malachi Toney's performance, debates whether Carson Beck projects as an NFL QB or more of a game-manager, and lauds UM president Joe Echevarria for his leadership. Joe and Hollywood also weigh in on Lane Kiffin's legacy after leaving Ole Miss for LSU just before the CFP, and comment on the overblown media reaction to the game's final moments.
