This week on the "A Cup of Gratitude" podcast, we're having a special episode where I share with you about my new book, "Holy Plot Twists." This book is an overflow of the podcast. God led me to share vulnerable and pivotal times in my life when He came in and worked things out for good, when He turned things around and made them usable. God can take the sharpest, most broken pieces and put them back together in a way that allows us to reach others with our story. I've realized that the way we go into all the world is by sharing our story; it's Unique, no one else in the world has one like ours. It is the way that we can connect to other people and share God's story with them share his goodness and his character this special episode gives you a synopsis of the book explains where it came from and why I put the energy and time into it to give it as a gift to you I also talk about a special contest we're doing where anyone can get a copy of the book take a picture and send it to me and then come on the podcast as a guest this special episode is short and sweet but packed with goodness I hope you'll listen in and have a great day!Enter the Podcast Contest !!!Win a chance to be a Guest on a special episode of “A Cup of Gratitude” podcast

Earlier this week we released our tenth episode of All God’s Women. So far, we’ve studied some pretty amazing women. We kicked off at the beginning with Eve, a woman given a command, a choice, and consequences. Next, was Mrs. Noah who experienced the first quarantine. Sarah was a woman with a plan. Hagai may have felt alone, but she was not forgotten by God. Rebekah lied and lost. Rachel and Leah competed for the love of their husband. Two midwives chose life over death. Moses’ two moms each helped prepare him for the task God had before him. Miriam let pride lead to her fall. And the five daughters of Zelophehad took a stand for women’s rights. Have you caught each of these episodes? Did you miss any? To celebrate the release of our tenth episode, we're having a podcast contest. Hopefully you listened to them all because you’re going to need it to be able to answer the ten contest questions, one for each episode. They’re fairly simple, but if you’re not sure, you can listen again or you can use the scripture references to look them up in your Bible. To find the contest questions, and submit your answers, head over to Podcast Contest The first person to submit all correct answers will win a DVD. In addition, another winner will be randomly chosen among the remaining entries. Winners will be announced on next week's episode, so be sure to tune in.

Every year, Idaho high school students participate in Law Day, an event to help students better understand the law and our legal system. This year's event had a special project: a podcast contest for high school students.
In this bonus episode for the New York Times podcast contest, Shaun Karakkattu introduced Brecker Ferguson's project about evaluating cross-cultural valuations of lions, Sara Kandel's project about putting a period on South Asian menstrual stigma, Rashi Magiyawala's project about taking the fair out of lovely: colorism in South Asian beauty, and Maxfield Hohn's project about reviving anthropology in the modern museum. Thank you to all the guests who helped with the first season of Youthomatic, and a new season will be out in the summer of 2020.
For their entry into the NPR Student Podcast Challenge, the students at the Montessori Academy of Colorado chose to interview Terry Nelson at the Blair-Cladwell African American Research Library about the history of our school's neighborhood, Curtis Park/Five Points in Denver, Colorado.

I am writing these program notes before the recording -- later today at Mexican Festival. This episode needs to be posted tomorrow by 10am -- our self-imposed posting time. Well -- I could get up early, but I am inspired -- now.You know that SAT test analogy question -- THIS : THAT -- where the colon means "is to" and then you are given several choices of similar analogies, and you have to find the one that is the closest matches to the original -- and they all look right? That is the game we will be playing when we record today at the side bar at the Mexican Festival. OK -- that is the second time I mentioned the Mexican Festival. Why? We could not find a bar to do this week's recording. Our regular go-to bars were not returning our emails. So I called Mexican Festival and the manager -- who we know and have had on BCR -- said "yes," and then, she said, "None of your listeners have come by -- why is that?" And I mumbled something like, "We'll let them know. See you at 5pm." And she said, "We'll go over our promotions." BTW -- we are not sponsored or receive anything from Mexican Festival, and we pay for our drinks. We do like their margaritas and freshly made "guak."Last weekend, we attended a podcast conference -- MAPCON. We sat through hours of sometimes interesting presentations and some great networking. We love our fellow podcasters -- but this conference was a bit of a slog. BTW.2 -- our team won the Create-a-Podcast Contest -- for the second year in a row. [Listen to the winning entry on this episode -- Be Careful] AND ... it was held at the Ocean Resort Casino [ORC] on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City. AND ... it occurred to me as I woke up this morning that our efforts at podcasting are quite similar and entirely different than what we observed in AC as the "walking dead" moved around the enormous ORC in their red scooters. OK -- the "scooting dead."So here are my choices as the best analogy to the title of this episode:Gambling : Podcasting*Sponge Bob : A dishragDonald Trump : Any of the Democratic candidates.Jumping Jack Flash : A flash driveCotton Candy : My mother's Lemon Meringue Pie. Left : Left outOne more thing -- will all our BCR listeners who live on the Upper West Side get over to the Mexican Festival bar and restaurant and tell Lara you heard about the Mexican Festival on Bar Crawl Radio. It's really a fun bar and restaurant, and we recommend it. Thanks, Lara.Let us know what you think of our podcast -- barcrawlradio@gmail.com*Ans. - #4. We got some killer feedback about women getting married and working! Woah. Thanks Kris Interesting piece of feedback about trolls coming down on the new Lena Dunham podcast that hasn’t even launched! Trolls, trolls, trolls. Boo A baby bursts through Jess’s door with his car! We start the conversation into a Facebook post about podcasting tactics that was almost 5 thousand words. Goodness gracious “You are incorrect, muppet friend. You are adorable for life.” says Jess to Elsie Why we decided to dive into this insane post about podcasting hacks and getting THOUSANDS of downloads in the first few weeks of launching Why the worldview of POV of the advice you get is imporant before you accept advice on your podcast, or anything for that matter This post is for those that have invested significantly in business systems of time and/or money. This post will not have the same impact for those that are starting with limited resources either of time, money or influence The tips also assume that you are batch producing content Not overwhelming your audience when you launch with hours upon hours of content makes sense, no? Tactics are great, but they are not guaranteed, most of the time you are not able to measure what actually worked If you don’t have an interview show, you cannot apply any of the tactics that Nathan shares “Soft-sell them HOW. Soft-sell them WHAT? That’s not a tip!” via Jess Don’t use the day’s trending hashtag on Instagram! Be mindful about how you use hashtags OMG Jess makes a BOO BOO with Leadpages, she orders something she doesn’t want! We need to stop Jess from randomly ordering things while we’re recording Stop spamming the author field in iTunes or you will not be featured in ANY lists in iTunes. They will remove you Feedback request! What do you guys think about our comments on Nathan? Were we too harsh? Do you disagree with us? Links mentioned by Jess and Elsie!
