In this episode of In the Den, Jen talks with three dads of LGBTQ kids about their experiences and learned wisdom from raising their queer kids. Special Guest: Lance SweetenLance Sweeten holds a bachelor's degree in engineering and works as a façade designer in Salt Lake City, UT. He's a husband and proud father of four children. His oldest daughter is transgender. He serves as a board member and administrator for the FB group "Dragon Dads," an organization dedicated to educating and supporting fathers of queer kids. Lance works with Equality Utah and the ACLU of Utah, where he actively opposes anti-LGBTQ legislation in the state's house and senate. Recognizing the need for parental support, Lance established the FB group "Shades of Love," which empowers parents and caregivers of LGBTQ+ children. Special Guest: Pat WrightPat has been a part of the Dragon Dads for about five years.  He loves camping, hiking, and adventures all around the world.  He enjoys spending time with all his kids and helping them grow into adults.  He has six kids–four stepkids, two biological kids, one trans son, and one bisexual daughter.  He loves to participate in Pride and volunteer in the community.  Besides volunteering with Project Rainbow and LGBTQ+ group at work he also runs a not-for-profit called Utah Geek Events that puts on events for the tech community in Utah Special Guest: Ralf VonSosenRalf came to the U.S. from Austria in high school. He made his way to Utah where he earned degrees from BYU and the University of Utah. After marrying his high school sweetheart, they moved to the CA Bay Area where they raised four kids. When their third child came out as gay, it shook their conservative Mormon family narrative and launched them on a new journey that included the welcoming of their transgender daughter. South Africa dare not fail in securing future demand for its 'incredible' platinum group metals (PGM) endowment, the Hydrogen Economy Discussion heard on Wednesday. Anglo American Platinum projects and environment executive head Prakashim Moodliar outlined the widespread marketing effort under way to boost PGM demand as well as the hugely positive benefit of adoption of the hydrogen economy. Moodliar, a keynote presenter along with German Embassy deputy head of mission Enrico Brandt, revealed the considerable work under way to map South Africa's Hydrogen Valley further, while Brandt provided insight into the momentous acceptance of hydrogen in Germany. Moreover, Moodliar outlined how the building of the hydrogen economy in South Africa would enable significant job creation, reduce carbon emissions, support social change and drive economic development. Currently, the bulk of platinum group metals are used in catalytic converters to reduce emissions from internal combustion engines and the shift to battery electric vehicles therefore poses a risk to South Africa's PGMs industry, which employs 172 000 people, making it one of this country's largest private sector employers. "Considering that every employed person supports an average of ten other people, we dare not fail in securing future demand for this incredible natural endowment. "The significant growth forecasts for the hydrogen economy will offer significant demand opportunities for metals, including aluminium, copper, iridium, nickel, platinum, palladium, and zinc to support these hydrogen technologies. "This would include metal for renewable electrical technologies, and the electrolysis for renewable hydrogen, carbon storage for low carbon, nitrogen, or fuel cells using hydrogen for power transport. "We know that reaching the goals of the Paris agreement to keep the global temperature rise to well below two degrees would mean a quadrupling of mineral requirements for clean energy technologies by 2040," said Moodliar. A typical battery electrical car for example requires six times more mineral inputs than a conventional internal combustion engine vehicle, with metal supply and investment falling far short of what is needed to reach the Paris Agreement. A business plan has been submitted to South Africa's State-owned Industrial Development Corporation to secure funding from Germany's KfW development bank for Project Rainbow, which focuses on building a hydrogen freight corridor for trucks and buses. "Rainbow is also looking at localised manufacture and assembly of vehicles to support building a local supply chain," said Moodliar, who added during the discussion covered by Mining Weekly that Rainbow has been afforded strategic infrastructure project status. Brandt outlined Germany's commitment to hydrogen as part of its commitment to the Paris Agreement that calls for a fundamental shift away from fossil fuels and towards sustainable alternatives. "The transition will affect everyone and everything, our way of life, politics and business," Brandt said. "We're facing the most fundamental transformation of the global economy in our lifetime, comparable to the Industrial Revolution in the past," he added during the event chaired by mining luminary Bernard Swanepoel.

In 2023 state legislatures across the South and Midwest have introduced over 400 bills attacking trans adults, trans kids, and drag queens. This legislative session in West Virginia saw the introduction of more than 15 anti-trans and anti-LGBTQ bills. On Thursday March 9th, 2023 trans organizers held a rally at the Capitol Building in Charleston, WV in protest of House Bill 2007 which would enforce a total ban on gender affirming care for minors in the state. Over 100 people packed the upper level of the capitol building to protest outside the Senate Chambers where the bill was being discussed. The Philadelphia Experiment was a military conspiracy code named “Project Rainbow” by the US Navy at the Philadelphia Navel Yard on October 28, 1943.  The experiment involved the Destroyer Escort Ship SS Eldridge in an attempt to turn the ship “Invisible” to both the naked eyed and enemy radar. Through out the course of the experiments several things go wrong involving strange side effects to the crew and allegedly causing the ship to teleport across the country! For the past two years a predominantly LDS neighborhood in southeastern Sandy, Utah (known as "Autumn Ridge") has been flying an unusually large number of rainbow flags during PRIDE week to show their support for fellow LGBTQ community members.  Last week, a faithful, non-LGBTQ-affirming Latter-day Saint neighbor in this community sent a somewhat self-righteous, pretentious, and cowardly letter to his/her fellow LDS neighbors, questioning their faithfulness to the LDS Church due to their flying of these rainbow flags.  In response, a wonderful, faithful LDS Church member and neighbor named Cynthia K. Phillips penned a courageous, thoughtful response to this letter, which can be accessed here. Today we interview the two founders of the "Project Rainbow" initiative in the Autumn Ridge section of Sandy, Utah: Kristy and Willy Donahoo.  We also interview Cynthia Phillips, who is an active, believing member of her local LDS ward, and who fervently supports this initiative. Bios: Kristy Donahoo is a financial advisor and partner with Ray LeVitre, CFP™. Together, Much of Kristy’s career spanned over 20 years in executive management positions in Northern California/Silicon Valley with high tech and early internet companies. When she relocated to Utah, she was personally recruited by Utah’s Governor Michael O. Leavitt to lead the state’s hosting and business development programs for the 2002 Olympics. She later went on to teach in a highly regarded private Utah school prior to becoming a financial advisor. Kristy and her husband moved to Utah from California about 20 years ago. They enjoy Utah for its people, the four seasons and proximity to their four adult children. She and her family enjoy beach time in California and Hawaii during summers and snow sports during Utah winters. Kristy serves on the Advisory Board of the John Williams Encircle Home in Salt Lake City, a resource center for at-risk LGBTQ+ youth and their families. William Donahoo is an attorney with Donahoo & Associates and also handles case management and firm administration. William joined the firm in 2009 and specializes in prevailing wage cases, representing employee interests.  Cynthia Phillips has been a teacher and administrator in secondary schools for the past 35 years during which she has taught Latin, History, English Language Arts, and Ancient Greek. Cindy is currently a secondary teacher at the Weilenmann School of Discovery, a public charter school located in Park City, UT, where she also served as the Executive Director for many years. During her career, she has never allowed administrative assignments take her fully out of the classroom because teaching and students are her love and passion.  Prior to her administrative and teaching positions at the Weilenmann School, Cindy was an administrator and teacher at the Waterford School, a private school located in Sandy, UT. Cindy is currently a member of the governor-appointed Utah State Charter School Board, a member of the Utah Professional Practices Advisory Commission, a member of the Lone Peak Hospital Board in Draper, UT, and a former member of the Northeastern Utah Educational Services Board.  Cindy holds a BA in Latin from Brigham Young University, an MA in Classics from Tufts University, an MA in History from the University of Utah, and she is currently a PhD candidate in Comparative Languages and Cultural Studies at the University of Utah. Cindy and her husband, Greg, reside in Sandy, UT and Heber, UT. They have five children and fourteen grandchildren.

101# The Montauk project | stranger things, stranger than fiction The Montauk Project This Theory alleges there were a series of secret United States government projects conducted at Camp Hero or Montauk Air Force Station in Montauk, New York, Long Island for the purpose of developing psychological warfare techniques and other exotic research such as time travel, Alien tech and human experimentation for the goal of creating super solders and even mind control. The U.S. Navy destroyer escort USS Eldridge was claimed to have been rendered invisible (or "cloaked") to enemy devices. Men In Black They're the best-kept secret in the universe…or so the line from the MIB movie goes. But like most things the truth is stranger than fiction and many people believe the Men in Black actually exist in real life. The term Men in Black refers to those who are dressed in black suits with black shoes and a black hat. They seem to show up during mysterious occurances, most notably whenever there’s a ufo sighting or encounter. They're often described as tall male figures, bald with no eyebrows and red lips. Their job is to keep the alien phenomenon buried and will harass, intimidate and stalk witnesses and researchers into keeping their mouths shut. 3. HAARP Started in 1990, HAARP, which stands for High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program, has garnered one of the most persistent conspiracy theories since its inception. The main facility is located in the middle of the Alaskan wilderness. It’s a joint project created by the US Air Force, US Navy, DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) and the University of Alaska Fairbanks . On paper this is a research center that studies the ionosphere which is an area in the upper atmosphere. HAARP develops technology that could help "enhance technology for radio communications and surveillance." While that may a compenent of what they do, it’s widley believed that they are working on much more secretive programs and has covert capabilities that it doesn’t want people to know about. 2. The Philadelphia Experiment Also referred to as Project Rainbow, the Philadelphia Experiment involves covert experiments, disappearing ships and possibly even time travel. Accounts of it’s real purpose still varies, some say the original experiment was a way to discover if it's possible to make a ship invisible from enemy radar. That they were simply aiming for a cloaking device but somehow ended up getting de-materialization and teleportation instead. Moreover, the experiment was supposedly based on Einstein's Unified Field Theory for Gravitation and Electricity. It's believed that in 1943 the USS Eldridge was equipped with various experimental electronic equipment like massive generators, magnetic coils, RF transmitters, modulation circuits and other specialized equipment not normally found on an escort destroyer. 1. The Alien Existence Coverup One of the most famous conspiracy theories hounding the government is the existence of aliens and the great cover up’s they've been creating over the years. Many claim that the government and various top officials all over the world are aware of the existence of UFOs and aliens and that the truth has been kept from the general public. More than that, the Government of the Unites States is believed to be working closely with aliens as well. But why would the government not disclose something so significant? When it comes to this question, the panic that The War of the Worlds broadcast is often cited. So those were 4 CREEPY & STRANGE GOVERNMENT CONSPIRACIES It’s hard to say if these theories hold any truth to them or are just conspiries. But if knowledge is power then this would give those in charge a big advantage over civilians and give them the ability to further control humanity.
