Truthfully this episode is for me this week. After multiple setbacks my goals seem so far away. Ever feel like the more you try to make something happen, the more resistance you get? You feel like you are getting knocked down with one event after the other and you are tempted to quit... All the self sabotaging thoughts of your failures, past mistakes, or any memories of how you DID NOT finish the goal before flood in.. even if the goal you are working towards you have already achieved once... Isnt it crazy how the enemy knows all your weaknesses and can get you so tied up, confused, questioning everything and then on the other end of it GOD- can get you so UNSTUCK because he always gives you a way out. This episode is for all the people that are tempted to quit, throw in the towel or have ever quit something in the past and you are often tortured and reminded about your past failures... IT DOESNT HAVE TO BE THIS WAY! Lets dig into truth and scripture about what GOD has to say about suffering and why its NECESSARY in our growth journey. I truly think it will be a transformative work in all of us!Hope it is for you.. PS: Dont you DARE give up! What, you thought we were done with this? Well you thought wrong my friends because the Final Gambit Podcast is back and better than ever. On this week's show the boys invite their longtime friend Sam onto the podcast for some good clean family fun. The trip back to Iowa, old party stories, the worst hangovers, booze and wearing your shirt for too many days in a row is just a taste of what we have to offer you on this episode. So sit back and enjoy the show. Thanks for listening, we plan to be back more regularly from now on. At least we hope so. PS: Dont forget to drink 4 beers before bed, I heard it keeps the doctor away
Joining me for a Waffle this week is the Incredible Singer/Songwriter Daniel Etherton! He joins me to have a chat about his brand new single Disappear and the inspiration behind it! I could sit for hours talking about all things music and hearing how the song was brought to life, Dan has one of those instantly recognisable voices and you can hear how much passion is in his lyrics! I highly recommend checking him out as I believe his journey is just beginning so remember where you heard him first when he's playing Glastonbury in a few years! We also have a chat about the power music has and how it has the ability to take you away when you need a bit of space! Really hope you enjoy the episode and go show his Insta and his music some love, its insanely good! PS Dont forget to vote for The Waffle Shop in the British Podcast Awards!
It’s a debate as old as modern, virtualized computing itself: Which storage protocol(s) should you deploy in your infrastructure? Given decades of development, such as the speeds of Ethernet links increasing and the CPU/processing power growing in modern servers, you’d think the landscape would tilt in a particular direction so long after these debates started. However, in this episode of Data Center Therapy, our hosts-with-the-most duke it out on the storage battlefield to build their respective cases for their preferred protocols and practices. He's back! Tech Craftsmanship Coach Llewellyn Falco shares stories of his second visit to Amway. Some of the topics he touches on in this episode are:Anti-fragile: a systemic way of implementing things so that when they break, you get stronger. More resilient. If your system is dependent on discipline, it’s broken.Safeguarding: after an issue was resolved, the team reflected on these 3 questions to help them build more resiliency for the future: What allowed us to create this situation? What made it hard for us to discover what it was? What made it hard to fix?PS: Don't start safeguarding in the middle of a crisis; wait until it's over (but not too long). Learning through documenting: As you document something, it prompts new ideas for how the thing could work. Shared, isolated, mutable and non-mutable states: the only combination to avoid is the one that everybody chooses = shared + mutable. What the team did when multi-threading threw a wrench in their testing…Continuous improvement: stop worrying about how to improve faster, worry about starting. Make improvement an everyday habit, and speed will come later.

Here we are with another amazing episode of the podcast with non other then the very talented and artistic Josh! After my conversation with josh I thought about all the things we talked about and realized how much of a pure genuine artist he is. He has such a clear vision of what he wants and its all makes sense. Josh are up here in Los Angeles and although he wants to think of himself as a good kid when he was younger he did run into some trouble growing up. Josh was into graffiti and although he would get into trouble from time to time he was always very conscious about his decisions and the trouble he would be in if he were to get caught. His family was big on sports specifically Baseball and his family got him into the sport, eventually helping him keep busy and moving past the bad influences he had around. Josh had some tough decisions throughout his life but tells is so confidently you would think he knew what the outcome would be. After quitting school and his job as a security guard josh dove into the creative world launching his career in the arts he is so passionate about now! In the opening line of his novel The Go Between the writer L.P. Hartley famously quipped ‘The past is a foreign country; they do things differently there’. For me history is about attempting to visit this foreign country L.P. Hartley talked about and seeing what life was like. In this podcast I have trawled through eye witness accounts of travelers to early 19th century Ireland to give you a sense of what life was like in a past where they did things very differently. From bare-knuckle boxing to prostitution, from public transport to what people did for fun, this show takes you on the trip to the foreign country that was Ireland in the 1820s. In the people business, there will be times when customers/coworkers/partners/etc will voice their dissatisfaction with how they perceive a situation to be. The manner in which they voice that complaint will vary. Sometimes it may be calm and to the point. Often, it may be shrouded in emotion and include a lot of additional commentary that may or may not be related to the issue at hand.
