My buddy Chris Jenkins just got back from ETHDenver, and he's buzzing about the convergence of crypto and AI.He's the head of operations at the Pocket Network Foundation, and right now, they're gearing up for their biggest protocol upgrade ever: Shannon. What they're doing is wild — opening up full permissionless access to decentralized data, from blockchain RPC calls to AI models, Tor nodes, and everything in between. We talk about agentic systems, LLMs, censorship-resistant data delivery, and why the future of open infrastructure needs crypto tokens to work at all. We also get into what it takes to build B2B tools that feel like B2C, why content creators (like podcasters) should be thinking about data licensing, and why the days of centralized APIs and broken bridges may be numbered. This one's nerdy, future-forward, and full of practical examples for how it's all being built right now. This episode contains strong language.

Meet Lora and Chris Jenkins of Southern California. They are parents to three children and also have two grandchildren. Lora's journey with pancreatic cancer began very abruptly in the fall of 2022. Despite feeling in great health, an intuitive voice in her head told her to get checked out one day in October 2022. She visited her local emergency room, where they found a mass on her pancreas. She was diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer, and it was then that a doctor estimated she had 3-9 months left to live. With this bleak news and doctors not giving her any hope to hold onto, Lora and her husband Chris felt the lowest they've ever felt. However, Lora's self-advocacy and Chris's ability to handle the insurance headaches and support Lora through this turned things around for their family. She did not accept the doctors' negative outlook on her prognosis. Instead, she sought out additional opinions from doctors at other hospitals. Although this was the first time she or anyone in her family had experienced pancreatic cancer, genetic testing did reveal a genetic mutation that likely was the cause of her pancreatic cancer despite her healthy lifestyle. Lora and her husband share their experiences as a patient and caretaker pair and how they took on Lora's treatments as a team. They also discuss the alternative medicines they used throughout her journey and the positive effect they had in keeping up her strength and pain tolerance. Fortunately, a year after her diagnosis, she connected with the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, and was able to undergo a clinical trial from which she saw significant positive effects. Eventually, after some time on the clinical trial regimen, her condition made her a candidate for surgery. This past January, she underwent the long-anticipated surgery that ultimately saved her, with double clean margins and a very successful surgery outcome. The couple also share a lot about how they relied heavily on their faith in God during this trying and tumultuous time with pancreatic cancer. Today, Lora is declared no evidence of disease and lives every day to the fullest, knowing that if it weren't for her clinical trial, she might not have had such a positive outcome in this disease. 2 Cor. 10:4,5. Spiritual warfare is a reality that all Christians, and perhaps missionaries in particular, will encounter. However, not all spiritual battles involve open power encounters with forces of darkness. Though these may receive more attention the more pervasive conflict takes place in our minds. What is the example Paul uses? To gain spiritual victory in this one area would be worth learning the lesson he teaches. But it is just one example of the war we are in and if we are able to recognize and win this battle we will find greater freedom to carry out the mission God calls us to. Session recorded on Friday, November 10th during Session Block #3 at 1:00 PM EST ; speaker: Chris Jenkins Session webpage: https://www.medicalmissions.com/events/gmhc-2023/sessions/spiritual-warfare-and-the-mind-the-unseen-battle-that-affects-your-walk-and-service-with-the-lord

Hey everyone, Charlie Shrem here, and you've just tuned into another epic episode of The Charlie Shrem Show. Today, we dove deep into the world of blockchain and cryptocurrency, exploring the incredible potential and challenges of innovation in this space. We started the conversation by discussing how blockchain technology solves complex problems, yet we often see creators complicating the user experience. It's a paradox that we're all too familiar with in the crypto world. Today's guest was my good friend and colleague Chris Jenkins from Druid Ventures, who also co-founded poktpool.com. We chatted about the importance of decentralized node infrastructure and how it's crucial for maintaining the integrity and security of blockchain networks. We even touched on the historical 51% attack on Bitcoin and how a robust node network can defend against such threats. We reminisced about the early days of Bitcoin, the block size wars, and how the evolution of blockchain has led to innovative solutions like roll-ups and side chains. It's fascinating to see how far we've come and the lessons we've learned along the way. Our conversation also ventured into AI and its intersection with blockchain. We pondered the challenges of ensuring that AI benefits users rather than controlling them and the importance of regulations that foster innovation while protecting privacy. As we wrapped up, we had the pleasure of speaking with Dr. Danny Lim, founder and CEO of MarginX. He shared insights on the impact of Bitcoin ETFs in Asia and the exciting developments in the regulatory landscape that could open the floodgates for traditional finance to embrace cryptocurrencies. We laughed, learned, and looked ahead at the bright future of blockchain and crypto. On November 1st, 2002, Steve and Jan Jenkins were at their home in Burlington, Wisconsin, waiting for their daughter, Sara, to visit, when they got a call from Ben Kroon, their son, Chris' roommate at the University of Minnesota. Ben was calling to tell Chris' parents that Chris had attended a Halloween party at a bar the night before, and no one had seen or heard from him since. Chris Jenkins, 21, was kicked out of the Lone Tree Bar at around 1 am for reasons no one was really sure. He was not that intoxicated, but he left the bar and headed in the direction of his apartment. Almost four months later, in February of 2003, a woman was taking her daily walk over the bridges of the Mississippi River. She looked down and saw something strange floating in the river below. It was Chris Jenkins, and he had been dead for months. So what had happened? Did he have a horrible accident, or was he met with foul play. Drop me a note to somuchpingle@gmail.com. This one is a Noah Fields two-fer, a mashup of two separate recordings.  I recently spent a couple days hanging out with Noah and his girlfriend Kaitlyn, during their first visit to Snake Road.  We had a pretty good time and I recorded just a ten-minute session with Noah, to get his thoughts on the whole Snake Road experience.  My aim was to talk with some other folks as well, and then put together a full episode.  But that didn't pan out, mostly because I was concerned about over-saturation of the subject, because – I was a recent guest on the Orianne Society's Snake Talk Podcast, and the subject was Snake Road. Chris Jenkins does a great job with Snake Talk and I'm featured on episode 89. Anyway, after my Snake Road business was concluded for the year, I headed down to Georgia for yet another attempt to see a Southern Hognose Snake, Heterodon simus.  Hogtober baby! And I got to hang out with Noah for a couple days on his home turf, so to speak.  We recorded the second and larger session sitting around a campfire, and while hognoses and Hogtober were covered, we stray into some other subjects as well.  FYI I had an issue with my microphone about 42 minutes into the recording, but I managed to recover my audio from Noah's microphone track (two mics, two tracks).  So be warned, the sound quality is a little warbly for about 8 minutes.  Warbly is a technical term.  No warblers were actually present. Thanks for listening everyone! And as always, please keep the comments and suggestions coming, and please take time to rate the show on your podcast platform! October 31, 2002. Minneapolis, Minnesota. 21-year old university student Chris Jenkins celebrates Halloween by going to a local bar with friends. After he is ejected from the establishment, Chris vanishes without a trace and his body is found in the Mississippi River four months later. While police initially believe that Chris' death was an accidental drowning, his family uncovers disturbing discrepancies to suggest his body was not in the river the entire time he was missing and that he was a victim of foul play. After four years, the Minneapolis police chief reopens the investigation, reclassifies Chris' death as a homicide, and issues an apology to the Jenkins family. What actually happened to Chris Jenkins after he left the bar? Could his death somehow be connected to the infamous “Smiley face murder theory”? If you were a vibrant, accomplished college senior who mysteriously disappeared, would your family trust that the police would launch a full-scale investigation? On November 1, 2002, Steve, Jan, and Sara Jenkins discovered that their son and brother, Chris, had not been seen since the previous night. They also learned that the Minneapolis police would not initiate a search until seventy-two hours had passed because Chris was over eighteen years old. With exceptional candor and shocking detail, Chris's mother Jan wrote Footprints of Courage - the first look inside the tragic and untold saga of the Chris Jenkins murder investigation undertaken by the family who loved him. Chris's parents and sister took extraordinary measures to force the truth into the light, including securing the assistance of global leaders in water rescue and recovery, appearing dozens of times on local and national newscasts describing how Chris may have died, even analyzing autopsy and recovery photos for clues - the list of steps they were forced to take on their own initiative is endless.Chris's disappearance captivated a city, and then a nation, when the public learned that dozens of young men in the preceding twelve years had met a similar fate. While pushing to unravel the mystery of his murder, Chris's courageous family paved the way for federal involvement in the possible serial homicides of more than seventy victims.Never leaving one of their own behind may not have been the easy path; but for Steve, Jan, and Sara, it was the only path. The Jenkinses passionately hope that Chris's legacy and their struggle for justice will inspire others to trust their instincts and stand up for truth.5 years ago #chris, #courage:, #ed, #face, #family's, #footprints, #inside, #investigation, #jenkins, #justice-, #killers, #murder, #murders, #opperman, #our, #report, #smiley, #struggleBuy the book https://amzn.to/3r6RMwEOppermnan Report seriously needs your support during this seasonal low in radio broadcasting. You can join Pareon at https://www.patreon.com/oppermanreportOr Paypal a dobnation to Oppermareport@gmail.comDonate button with other options at oppermanreport.comThis show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/1198501/advertisement
