Podcast Overview: Will, Walker & Royce discussed the uniqueness of Dirtybird and its impact on the music industry, the unpredictability of track success and the impact of self-help. Who are Walker & Royce: Walker & Royce started when Sam and Gavin, having known each other in and out of the dance scene for years, finally began working together in 2011. Crosstown Rebels boss Damian Lazarus noticed one of their very first releases. The result was the Crosstown Rebels EP "You're Not Welcome" and with that, Walker & Royce was launched into the dance music spotlight. Around the same time, Walker & Royce released a track on OFF Recordings that went on to become a house anthem: "Connected". The song became a mainstay in Solomun's performances and with that set the stage for a diverse range of sounds from the pair. Their EP on Moda Black entitled “Sister” was picked by Pete Tong as his Essential New Tune, and their chart toping remix of Baunz' “Out the Window” on Pets Recordings garnered support from many of the biggest artists in electronic music. Most recently the duo has joined the ranks on Claude Vonstroke's seminal Dirtybird Records with the release of the “Boy” EP and “Hit Dem Draws” and Green Velvet's legendary Relief Records with their chart toping release “Peep This Cat”, and “3 4 Shake It” with fellow Dirtybird artist Will Clarke. Having solidified their unique sound, you will hear Walker & Royce's music in many of the top DJ's from around the world! From Sasha to Adam Beyer, Maceo Plex to Gorgon City and Eats Everything to Locodice, they continue to break down the genre barriers and turn heads....Join for updates: https://laylo.com/willclarke⏲ Follow Will Clarke ⏱https://djwillclarke.com/https://open.spotify.com/artist/1OmOdgwIzub8DYPxQYbbbi?si=hEx8GCJAR3mhhhWd_iSuewhttps://www.instagram.com/djwillclarkehttps://www.facebook.com/willclarkedjhttps://twitter.com/djwillclarkehttps://www.tiktok.com/@djwillclarke Hosted on Acast. The music world became aware of Vincent Floyd with the release of "Your Eyes" on Dance Mania Records in 1990. Serene and thoroughly musical, "Your Eyes" left no doubts about Floyd's talent as a writer nor his production prowess. Vincent would explore this musical territory further on “Cruising (Long Ride),” released on Resound Records, the label he started through a P&D agreement with Gherkin Records. Inspired by long drives up Lake Shore Drive, the road that runs along Lake Michigan for almost the entirety of Chicago, the 12 minute long track is hypnotic and mellow, wrapped in dreamy pads and laced with whirling pitches and heavenly leads. In 1992, Floyd went on tour as a keyboardist with Larry Heard AKA Mr. Fingers, then on MCA Records. Vincent kept amassing unreleased tracks. Some eventually found their way onto EPs for Cajmere's Relief Records, Mindfood, Rated X and Subwoofer. After obtaining a Bachelors in Music from Chicago State University, and a Masters of Arts degree from Roosevelt University, Vincent worked as a music teacher for Chicago Public Schools. In 2014, after Vincent Floyd met Antal Heitlager, head of Dutch label Rush Hour. Antal set in motion an ambitious reissue campaign that includes an entire album's worth of previously unreleased material called “Moonlight Fantasy.” Vincent came back to make up for lost time and, in 2016 he released his first EP on his own Dawn Notes Records. Floyd is currently Djing, recording and remixing with clubs and record labels around the world.

True House Stories Podcast with special guests by Lenny Fontana
TRUE HOUSE STORIES W/ DJ SNEAK SPECIAL SHOW 2021 #001 - PART 2 DJ Sneak (born Carlos Sosa; November 5, 1969) is a Puerto Rican born American DJ and record producer raised in Chicago, Illinois, United States. He is noted as being one of the second wave of Chicago house producers, (alongside Derrick Carter, Cajmere/Green Velvet, Gemini, James Curd and Paul Johnson) as well as a member of the vanguard of late-1990s United States house producers. In 1983, Sneak moved to Chicago from Puerto Rico, where his early musical experiences and influences were rooted in salsa, merengue and Latin orchestras. In Chicago, Sneak found inspiration in underground house music, warehouse parties and "old school" mix tapes from the early pioneers, Farley Jackmaster Funk, Ralphi Rosario, Steve Hurley and local radio station shows played on WBMX. Sneak earned his nickname rocking graffiti-tags and began working at retail stores as an airbrush artist. His development as a DJ came while working regular mobile DJ jobs and local nightclubs. Sneak focused on his music production and started his independent label - Defiant Records. In 1994, while still working at local store Gramophone Records, Sneak met Cajmere (Green Velvet) owner of Cajual and Relief Records. Cajmere released three of Sneak's catalyst tracks, which helped bring him international recognition. In Ibiza, Sneak has participated in several events with Ministry of Sound, Cream, Manumission, and Miss Moneypenny's. Sneak currently resides in Los Angeles, California, US. Lyrics by DJ Sneak are featured in the Daft Punk song, "Digital Love", from their 2001 album, Discovery. In 2001, Sneak launched a new record label Magnetic Recordings, where he has been releasing new music, with compilations to come, along with the introduction of new musical talent. Source: Wikipedia

Booking: http://www.timesartists.com/oliverdollar The past few years have seen Oliver Dollar’s star rise to be a recognisable staple within house music. But it was 2011 when this Berlin-based producer gained the attention he deserved in the form of his first Beatport #1 “Doin’ Ya Thang” – released on Play It Down; Made To Play’s sister label. “Doin’ Ya Thang” remained at the #1 spot for an astounding 5 weeks and continued to sit in the top ten selling over 40k downloads to date, also topping the Resident Advisor chart. This success was quickly followed up with monster-cuts ‘Granulated Soul’ and ‘Hoes’, both again on Play It Down. 2014 was another huge year for Oliver, dropping the ‘$’ sign to become simply Oliver Dollar. He released his biggest smash yet as he reunited with Swiss Jazz House aficionado Jimi Jules for their much- hyped ‘Pushin’ on’ released on the mighty Defected. Not only did it give Dollar #1 status on Beatport again, it was also a huge cross-over hit featuring in the UK charts (peaking at #15). After the tracks’ on-going success Oliver Dollar and Jimi Jules continue to work together on various projects including a remix of Freaks’ Wake Up on Rebirth Records. Other notable Collaborations in 2014 included releasing with Cajmere on his label Cajual and also being part of his Green Velvet album on Relief Records ‘Dance To My Beat’ which was a huge success. He also remixed Romathony’s ‘Let Me Show You Love’ for Glasgow Underground which turned heads, and the ‘Made For The Night Compilation’ with Jesse Rose soon followed, which was accompanied by a world tour and global shows with Defected. 2015 saw Oliver continue to fly as he launched his own label ‘Industry Standard’. The first release ‘Shout Away’ was a collaboration with Chuck Daniels, a dark-disco club-ready track that was made in Detroit. Of the label Oliver comments ‘I always wanted to do a label…The vision is to have crazy quality control, I don’t want to put out a release every month.” Other highlights in 2015 included his debut at the much-respected Movement festival in Detroit, a remix for the mighty Matthias Tanzmann on Moon Harbour records and a fresh collaboration with legendary Robert Owens and fellow German Tensnake. The Dollar wasn’t any slouch in 2016, with a heavy international touring schedule he has still put releases in the right places remixing Green Velvet’s legendary cut ‘Flash’ for Relief Records, an original releases titled ‘Go Down’ on his home label base Play It Down, and a collaboration with Kenny Dope titled ‘Muggin’ on Kenny’s legendary Dopewax imprint. Then 2017 saw a selection of releases & remixes on Play It Down, Yoruba, Arms & Legs, Kling Klong. Finally, his much-anticipated debut album is due to drop in 2018 which will deliver a selection of killer cuts that he’s been crafting for well over a year, featuring some formidable collaborating artists. With an album world tour being scheduled from the release you know Oliver will continue to keep pushin’ on another day for another dollar!
Avenue Red was started in July 2013 with the intention of creating a good, steady platform for passionate music collectors, DJ's, artists and label owners who we found to have something special on their music pages, yet were flying far below the radar of mainstream press and hype. We are here to showcase the good, friendly people who we find not to be trying to play some stealthy game of music scene politics with hidden agendas, gimmicks, sideshow fads or any other holographic projections of inflated egos. Instead, we aim to showcase those content with their low underground profile - tasteful diggers and purveyors dedicated to filtering wheat from chaff to distill the sweetest, most enjoyable and educational mixtapes. In these 5 years to date Avenue Red has featured a diverse range of 86 talented DJ's/artists from around the world, from Russia to the USA and from Peru to the UK. Thanks to all of you for contributing such great works over these years! To celebrate this milestone we will be releasing 5 separate mixtapes in a mini-series over the coming weeks, which will draw focus on our most frequent and outstanding contributors so far. To get this party started we welcome the magical master technician from Istanbul... step up Rubsilent!! "My path crossed with Alec's and his Avenue Red podcast series 3 years ago after exchanging messages via Soundcloud over the Relief Records tribute mix that I recorded in early 00's and shared online after recovering the recording from a MiniDisc. Rest is history... When it comes to electronic music I believe in no barriers between the genres, which comes from my being hooked on this approach in the 90's with the likes of Laurent Garnier and Derrick May as role models. I have recorded five mixes over the years for Avenue Red and this is my 6th contribution. Some may lean towards a certain genre but in order to entertain myself first I tried telling different stories on each session by travelling thorough different moods and styles. This 5th year anniversary contribution is reflecting a more positive, house-y side of me here. Lots of USA house from places like Chicago, Detroit as well as European sounds from past and present... I was recently reunited with a box of 50 of my records after 11 years apart (all from my time living in Chicago), so naturally I was keen to drop some of those records in this session. I'm humbled to be asked to return back to Avenue Red with this special 5th year anniversary selection. Many thanks to Alec for his hard work and to all the listeners throughout the years. Happy Birthday Avenue Red! Many happy returns." He started mixing different kinds of electronic music at the age of 14. After multiple years having residencies on Thursday and Fridays in Belgium’s house & techno underground scene and playing thousands of hours all over, moving along wicked eastern European countries & Russian federation resorts FRED HUSH decided to work on his production skills. Since, he released multiple times on Green Velvet’s Relief Records, as well on Tronic Soundz, Sonar Kollektiv & the infamous Rushhour Records from Amsterdam. Fred just released a new ep on ]FºKªLM[. Acid Techno pioneer Emmanuel Top his new record label. A deeper techno acid sound as Fred used to grow up between techno labels like Missile and Primate Records in the 90’ and is going back to the source of that sound in combination with recent material and futuristic unknown retro sounds. All this together with a lot of edge, twist & dirty disco if necessary. There are very few artists who can be said to have seen the lifespan of house music in its entirety. Born in Chicago, 1967, Boo Williams is arguably one of the most influential figures in club music: past, present and future. Alongside the likes of Glenn Underground he has become one of the definitive figures of the Chicago sound and has released records on legendary labels such as Relief Records, Moods & Grooves, Rush Hour and far too many others to name. This summer he will play at Odyssia Festival in Greece. We are honoured to be able to welcome him on to the site as part of our Ransom Note Mix series.

Deep House Australia would like to welcome its newest crew member and podcast resident, Juliet Fox (http://bit.ly/JulietFox-SC). An Aussie, originally from South Australia, Juliet has recently come off the back of a 12 month world tour, through North America to Ibiza, and is now residing in London. With little rest between tours, she's off again soon, heading through Thailand in January on her way back home for an Australian tour in February. If that wasn't enough, Juliet is heading back to Europe for the northern hemisphere summer & another stint in Ibiza! Not only is Juliet an amazingly accomplished DJ, but she has taken her production skills to the next level over the past year or so. Notably she's teamed up with Green Velvet on Relief Records (http://bit.ly/1cOMyBy), plus she has a forthcoming EP due to hit the shelves on Cajual Records 13th January (http://bit.ly/1cYkoIY)! Check her SoundCloud page for more of her productions >>> http://bit.ly/JulietFox-SC Now have a listen to her DHA Podcast - Ibiza & All That, which is one of the most impressive mixes we've heard in a while. Well thought out, Juliet doesn't fall into the DJ-trap of simply playing a bunch of tracks one after the other, but rather she's taken control of the mix and uses the music to tell her story. Enjoy! 01. Maksim Batyunin – Rene (Original Mix) 02. Anthea & Cellar Playmaker (Dyed Soundorom Remix) 03. Panos & Sentenza - French 75 Feat. J Expo (Leftwing & Kody Remix) 04.
