Episode 9 features long-time friend Scott Gazzoli (host of the Causing the Effect podcast) and is all about faith and courage as we oscillate in and out of clarity through the process of our growing awareness. A fun and down-to-earth discussion about embracing the process of revealing what we already are in preparation for the moments wherein we realize that's all we have, the dangers of pursuing self-improvement rather than opportunities for self-expression, and the importance of recognizing that freedom isn't the absence of ego but the continuous acceptance of it's limited and divisive nature with awareness and empathy. Topics include (but are not limited to) alcohol, psychedelics, synchronicity, insight, and much more. Join us for live group discussions every week on Patreon!

For August Paul interviewed Scott Gazzoli of the Causing the Effect podcast. He's a wealth manager in Brooklyn who has been through a long and harsh spiritual journey. We touch on fitness and the psychology of achievement and spend the most time talking about the deceptiveness of material goals--money, sex, physical pleasure--how spiritually and psychologically they turn out to be deceptive and destructive. In this episode I speak with comedian and host of the podcast “Causing the Effect Podcast” Scott Gazzoli. Scott and I talk about why we have an interest in the mind, consciousness and personal development. Scott tells us the path he went down to find out more about who is and live with more authenticity. Scott talks about balancing spirituality and personal development. We talk about the balance of “doing” and “being” and the importance of having both to find fulfillment in our society. We talk about the feeling of lack and insufficiency that everyone feels and how we deal with it. Scott tells us about his life growing up with his dad being a part of the mafia and going into the witness protection program. He tells us the story of growing up being groomed to be a part of the mob. He tells us a bunch of lessons he got growing up in that environment and how he got out of it. Should Have Listened To My Mother Podcast (SHLTMM) is now available on YouTube @: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCoUWxgQECqrMqI1ylVH9Dpw It wasn't until two years ago that my guest, Scott Gazzoli, now 32, learned the truth about why his father suddenly disappeared back in 1995. When Scott was 5-6 yrs old, his dad suddenly vanished, leaving his mother, Caroline, to raise Scott and his younger sister Sable by herself in Brooklyn, NY. Caroline did everything possible to give her children what ever they wanted and needed. One could say, even if it meant using the Robin Hood Effect.Scott Gizzoli is a successful financial advisor and podcast host of "Causing the Effect," a show covering philosophy/ psychology and helping others try and find their true self. From his own personal experiences, Scott has learned about the downfalls of always doing what others want you to do, whether it's regarding your education, career choice, personal relationships, etc. He's done so many wonderful things, accomplished so much-above and beyond most of his contemporaries, however, he's learning now that he wants to live his own life and do what makes him happy and not what others want. "Being our true self is one of our biggest gifts we can give ourselves," say Gazzoli as he shares about his podcast and the special guests he has on the show. "No more living by other peoples expectations and perceptions."Scott and his sister Sable, were fortunate to have a hard working Mom taking care of them. I can't wait for you to hear this interview and get to know their mom, Caroline.Scott is a Managing Director with the Quest Organization, a boutique advisory firm that caters to the needs of High Net Worth Individuals and Families. Scott Gazzoli and I discuss the misunderstanding of how the mind works to help us see how the mind really works (not how we are conditioned to believe the mind works). We don't need to lose alot of money or have a family crisis to see that our wellbeing and coping abilities (or lack thereof) has nothing to do with our outside circumstances. We temporarily lose sight of the fact that we are experiencing thought and not our outside circumstances. There is nothing outside of us that can make us feel any way in particular. You can thrive in the middle of a health crisis. You can thrive amidst financial hardship. We are just one thought away from thriving and wellbeing.

The host of the Causing the Effect podcast, Scott Gazzoli, is definitely on my failure wavelength. He dives deep and shares readily with not only his more troubling times as he found his career path but also what he's learned to help better ground yourself during tough times. As he says in the episode, "be ready for the failures to get thrown in your face, because that is where your growth lies..." We also get into meandering discussions of addiction, past mistakes, and even discuss the greatest pro wrestler there ever wasn't: The Great Scott!
The kind and helpful Scott Gazzoli, a fellow podcaster, joined your host, Kara Fernstrom, for this episode to talk about facing your fears, psychology, and the challenges and benefits of changing your life when you need to. This captivating conversation covers a bit of Scott's incredible story, how he got into podcasting, and some tangible advice for others who want to dive into a life better suited to them. One more cool thing I want to add about Scott and his show is that he has almost the exact same mission as us, here at the Conquest of Bliss! He aims to empower people to be their best selves, knowing that the more people that are happy and fulfilled, the better society is for all of us. I can't recommend his show enough! In this episode I had the unique opportunity to speak with Scott Gazzoli, successful entrepreneur, Brooklynite, and host of the Causing the Effect podcast, a top 25 mindset podcast on Apple. Scott takes us on a colorful journey from growing up as a young kid inside the mafia to recreating himself over and over again until he found real success and contentment not just financially but in his heart, mind, and soul.
Another outstanding pod-swap with The Host of the Causing The Effect Podcast Scott Gazzoli who joins this episode to talk about: Taking a break from the rat race of New York City. Having two sisters that are NYC Police officers and a mother who is on the Healthcare frontlines and checking on them daily. Discovering what worked and what didn't in his life and business. How it feels to be a native New Yorker now. The women in his life that are tougher than him. Playing High school football, being recruited by many Division 1 schools and suffering a knee injury. The deeper meaning of his podcast and the podcast's three components. The correlation of the consistency of podcasting and football and focusing on the wrong pieces of a podcast. This week's adventure is taken in the company of Scott Gazzoli, whose podcast – Causing The Effect – Taylor has guested on. The pair talk about how the quest for money and wealth generation in the corporate world wasn’t as fulfilling for them as providing knowledge and help to people in the same position they were a few years ago as well as Scott’s entry into the world of stand-up comedy. KEY TAKEAWAYS For billionaires money is infinite and there are always people wanting to take from them. What they don’t have is time, so I give them that by doing what they need done, whether that’s MNA financing, buying baseball teams, recruiting, etc. Talking to my workforce and making sure everyone’s happy is important, you don’t have to be a tyrant to run a business. Incentivise people on an individual basis. Fear is an attempt to avoid danger that, ironically, prolongs the exposure to the danger. Who would you be in 5 years’ time if you just did what you wanted to do at the time? You have to take action. You start caring about what people think of you in high school, it’s where I got stage fright for the first time. I always wanted to do something in self-expression, all three of my jobs are in self-expression. The tools I’m learning through these are going to help me in whatever I want to do in the future. Meditation is important, 2 hours a day in the morning. Yoga also helps with control. But if you’re trying to get somewhere through meditation you won’t make it, because you’re focussing too hard on it. BEST MOMENTS ‘I try to learn from every challenge that’s thrown at me’ ‘Money doesn’t make you anything, it just amplifies who you already are’ ‘You can tell how somebody treats people by how they treat a waiter’ ‘You’ve got to go to the places that scare you, that’s where the learning is’ ‘I needed to go through everything I went through to get to where I am’ VALUABLE RESOURCES The Adventures Of Self Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/the.adventures.of.self/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/The.Adventures.of.Self ABOUT THE GUEST Scott Gazzoli is the host of Causing The Effect. I had a fantastic conversation with Scott Gazzoli, the host of the popular podcast Causing the Effect. Scott's podcast is focused on the true exploration of your mind and body and it was a blast picking his brain. In our talk, he offers advice to help me with my meditation and exercise struggles, we discuss our cannabis and psychedelic use, love for heavy metal, rage issues, and much more. Check out Scott's podcast Causing the Effect - https://www.causingtheeffectpodcast.com/ (51:58) Also includes the short story "Four Percent" taken from 25 Perfect Days and narrated by David Thompson.

Scott Gazzoli is a regular listener of The Speaking Club and he is just starting out on his journey as a stand up comedian and podcaster. When he reached out to ask me to come on his show, so he could pick my brains for himself and his audience, I checked him out and then said a big fat “yes”. He's a guy who's transitioned from being a financier to embracing his creative side, and he is going all in. Although he is primarily asking the questions in this show, he also has some great insights to share based on the breakthroughs he's experienced along the way. If you want to hear a bit more about my own journey, my experiences and struggles as a speaker, entrepreneur and performer, AND get some tips to help you on yours then listen up... What you'll discover: The parallels between comedy, speaking and storytelling. Why you put your best material first as a comedian and why speakers need to take the same approach. The mindset traps you can fall into as a speaker. The importance of persona and how your blind spots can be the best way to find yours. The secret weapon for escaping your comfort zone. The coaching tips I gave Scott to prepare for his first comedy gig in front of 200 people. And lots more! Enjoy!
