Something waits beneath it,the whole story doesn't show.” –Andrew WyethStory Prompt: What is the promise your life holds for you now? What will you do to realize that promise? What are the stakes? This introductory episode of My Whole Story: More Than a Label explores why this series is needed right now. Joined by Kelli Eller, Vice President of Human Services, and Andy Dwonch, Chief Operating Officer, the conversation examines how people experiencing homelessness, poverty, immigration challenges, and other life barriers are often reduced to simplistic labels—and what gets lost when we stop listening to the full human story. This episode sets the foundation for a powerful series centered on dignity, empathy, and lived experience, inviting listeners to slow down, challenge assumptions, and see the person behind the label.

In a world of "theorizing" and filling in the gaps, we often forget that God doesn't leave accidental blanks in our lives. Explore the supremacy of Christ in Colossians and learn how to find peace in the truth that He is before all things and holds all things together.
While the topic of God's judgment can make many of us uncomfortable, it is a repeated theme throughout Scripture and in the book of Jeremiah. This week, we study one such passage and see that God's judgment is not only a necessary response to evil and injustice, but it is also a key way that we see the depth of His love for us.

The Bible—and the book of Jeremiah in particular—is filled with commands and warnings. Yet as Christians, we believe our reconciliation with God rests not on what we do, but on what Jesus has done for us. So what role do these rules play? Are they optional, or are we meant to keep them? And if obedience matters, how does that fit with Jesus fulfilling the law on our behalf? This week, we'll examine the purpose of the law, its limitations, and how Christ completes what we never could.
We've all been there, at the precipice of some decision. We knew what we should do, but we also knew what we wanted to do—and those weren't the same. We knew it was wrong, but we wanted it anyway. It looked so good, so enticing. So we went for it. And then we found out. While it might have been great initially, it eventually emptied us of joy, and in some cases, it hurt even worse. Such is the nature of sin. It's not only harmful to us, it's harmful to others, and it's harmful to the world at large. This week, we will look at some of the effects of sin, why it's so enticing, and how to escape.

Most women don't struggle with fat loss because they're doing something wrong. They struggle because they've been taught to judge progress using the wrong measurement. The scale reflects body weight, not body composition, and when you don't understand what drives fluctuations, it's easy to panic, overcorrect, and sabotage results. On this episode of THE CHASING CLARITY HEALTH & FITNESS PODCAST, we continue the conversation from Part 1 by breaking down why scale weight behaves differently in women, how the menstrual cycle influences day to day changes, and how to track progress accurately without letting a single number dictate your mindset or effort. If you've ever felt like you were doing everything right but the scale jumped up a few pounds overnight, this episode will bring clarity. Progress is never linear, and weight is only one small piece of a much larger picture.HERE IS WHAT WE COVER️HOW THE MENSTRUAL CYCLE IMPACTS SCALE FLUCTUATIONS️ WHY WOMEN SEE BIGGER DAY TO DAY SHIFTS COMPARED TO MEN️ HOW TO USE DAILY WEIGH INS AND 7 DAY AVERAGES TO TRACK TRENDS️WHY WEEKLY WEIGH INS CAN MISLEAD YOU️ THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FAT LOSS AND WATER WEIGHT️ HOW TO DESENSITIZE YOURSELF TO SCALE ANXIETY️ HOW TO TRACK PROGRESS BEYOND THE SCALE WITH PHOTOS, CLOTHING, PERFORMANCE AND BIOFEEDBACK️ WHY TRUE TRANSFORMATION REQUIRES MULTIPLE DATA POINTSIf you want to stop letting the scale control your emotions, your decisions, or your belief in yourself, this episode will teach you how to interpret the data correctly and stay consistent without second guessing every fluctuation.IF THIS EPISODE HELPED YOU, SHARE IT WITH A FRIEND WHO NEEDS IT.If you're ready for coaching that respects female physiology and builds results that last, apply for 1:1 coaching through the link in the show notes.WHERE TO CONNECT WITH ME:Follow Brandon on IG: https://www.instagram.com/brandondacruz_/For Info on Brandon's Coaching Services: https://form.jotform.com/bdacruzfitness/coachinginquiryEmail: Bdacruzfitness@gmail.comBrandon's Website: https://www.brandondacruzfit.com

In this episode, Pastor Gary teaches the final Sunday of Advent on love and how genuine love for God always leads to worship. Through the stories of the Magi and Simeon, we saw that Jesus is not merely someone to admire, but the King who calls for our obedience, surrender, and adoration. The Magi responded to Jesus with costly worship, traveling far and offering their very best. In contrast, King Herod responded with fear and self-preservation, reminding us that encountering Jesus always reveals what is in our hearts. Simeon, after a lifetime of faithful waiting, responded with praise and peace when he finally held the promised Savior, declaring Jesus as God's salvation.Pastor Gary challenged us to examine our own response to Jesus. True worship is never passive: it involves offering our time, resources, obedience, and lives to Him. As we are reaching the end of Advent, we are invited to move beyond admiration and respond to Christ with wholehearted worship, recognizing Him not just as a Savior, but as my Savior and my Lord!
In this episode of Midlife Revival, Dr. Taniqua Miller breaks down one of the most common—and most misleading—messages women hear in midlife: “It's just your hormones.”Using real patient scenarios, Dr. Taniqua explains why symptoms like fatigue, mood changes, poor sleep, and brain fog aren't always solved by hormone therapy alone. She walks through what perimenopause and menopause actually look like, why routine hormone lab testing is often unhelpful, and how stress, sleep disorders, chronic medical conditions, medications, and mental health play a powerful role in how we feel during this transition. This episode is a call for less lazy medicine and more whole-person care—where hormone therapy is part of the toolkit, not the entire solution. If you've ever felt confused, discouraged, or blamed when hormone therapy didn't “fix everything,” this conversation is for you.
If you've been told your thyroid is “fine” because one lab looks normal, this episode is going to mess with your certainty in the best way. In this Medical Disruptors conversation, I sit down with Dr. Alan Christiansen (Dr. C), a board-certified naturopathic endocrinologist and bestselling thyroid author. Dr. C reveals how subtle autoimmune activity often hides beneath “normal” labs, and why addressing iodine overload—not deficiency—might be the real solution for many. We don't just talk thyroid here—we talk agency. And once you understand the levers behind thyroid function, you'll never look at your labs the same way again. Basketball fans were robbed of a potential epic finish and a true head-to-head showdown in Rockets vs. Nuggets, as questionable officiating took over late — but was that the only reason the ending fell flat? ITL debates what really went wrong and what it says about the Rockets.
In this third week of Advent, Pastor Nate explores the theme of joy through the powerful moment when God reveals His glory and the message of Christ's birth; Not to kings or religious elites, but to ordinary shepherds in the fields. Drawing from Luke 2:8–20 and 1 Corinthians 1:27–29, we were reminded that God delights in using the overlooked and the humble so that He alone will be glorified and no one can boast in their own merit. We also reflect on how an encounter with God's glory produces lasting joy. This joy then overflows into witness, even in suffering, as seen in the life of Betsie ten Boom. True joy is not tied to circumstances but rooted in Christ, and it shines as a powerful testimony to the world.Never underestimate what God can do through a surrendered, ordinary life, and to ask Him to fill us anew with the joy that comes from encountering His glory. As Jesus reminds us in Matthew 5:14–16, we are called to let that light and joy shine to everyone around us!
If you felt whiplash reading recent headlines about estrogen and perimenopause—you're not alone. At the 2025 Menopause Society Annual Meeting, a research poster analyzing data from more than 120 million women unexpectedly ignited a media firestorm. News outlets quickly framed the findings as proof that starting estrogen in perimenopause prevents breast cancer, heart attacks, and stroke—sparking viral conversations that went far beyond what the data can actually support. In this episode of Sky Women's Health, Dr. Carolyn Moyers is joined by Dr. Rachel Pope, MD, gynecologist, menopause specialist, and mentor on the research team behind the poster, to slow the conversation down and bring clarity back to the science.Together, we unpack what the study really showed, what was lost in translation, and how women should interpret this information when making decisions about hormone therapy. Why This Study Caught Fire* The study used a massive electronic health record database of over 120 million patient records* It compared women who started estrogen: * during perimenopause * after menopause * or never used estrogen* It examined rates of breast cancer, heart attack, and stroke* Media headlines quickly implied causation—despite this being a retrospective, observational studyWhat the Data Actually Showed* Women who used estrogen during perimenopause (within 10 years before menopause) did not have higher rates of breast cancer, heart attack, or stroke compared with the other groups* These findings support the idea that earlier initiation may be safe and potentially beneficial—but do not prove protection or prevention* The results align with the broader timing hypothesis of hormone therapy, but do not settle the debateCritical Limitations That Didn't Make the Headlines* This study relied on diagnosis codes, not individual chart review* It did not analyze: * type of estrogen * dose or route * type of progestin* There was no breakdown by race, ethnicity, or other demographic factors* Because perimenopausal women are younger, some conditions (like breast cancer or cardiovascular disease) may simply not have occurred yet during the study's timeframe* Like all retrospective studies, it cannot determine cause and effectWhy This Still Matters for Women* Many women experience significant symptoms during perimenopause, often years before their final period* Hormone therapy can be life-changing for symptoms and quality of life* This study helps normalize thoughtful, earlier conversations—but it does not replace individualized medical decision-making* Observational data like this helps generate hypotheses and funding for future prospective trials, which we still urgently needThe Real TakeawayThis study doesn't mean everyone should start estrogen in perimenopause—and it doesn't mean estrogen prevents disease. What it does mean is that earlier use appears reassuringly safe in this dataset, and that women deserve nuanced, evidence-based counseling rather than fear-driven or headline-driven decisions. If you're navigating perimenopause, the most important factors remain:* your symptoms* your health history* your goals* your personal risk profile* shared decision-making with a menopause-informed clinicianResources Mentioned* The Menopause Society provider directory at Menopause.org for finding evidence-based menopause care
Start with a simple question: if investment drives productivity and growth, what happens to a society that keeps choosing consumption over capacity? We trace a straight line from Marx's core mechanics to Kalecki's equations, then use that line to cut through fashionable theory detours—value-form shortcuts, communization fantasies, and techno-feudal hot takes. The result is a clearer picture of why profits can soar while real investment sags, why the dollar's “miracle” masks fragility, and why printing more money can't manufacture machine tools, skills, or energy. We lay out four regimes that help decode the past 70 years: Fordist reinvestment that pushed productivity up, extractive reinvestment that scaled capacity through coercion, subsistence stagnation where neither investment nor exploitation rises, and neoliberalism's defining mix—low investment, high exploitation, and asset hoarding. From there, we unpack how U.S. trade deficits and financial inflows fed capitalist consumption while weakening the incentive to build. Debt and soft budgets smoothed the ride, but they didn't fix profitability on new capital or reverse the long slide in productivity growth. The numbers point to a coming snap-back to trend, not a new golden age.China's path raises the stakes. Sustained high investment, tighter discipline on capitalist consumption, and strategic upgrading are pushing the global cost curve down and forcing others to respond. That doesn't make China post-capitalist; it does show how targeted capacity-building can escape the stagnation trap. The practical lesson isn't romantic—it's logistical. Real constraints matter: inputs, machine tools, power, training, and time. Risk management beats magical thinking; autarky is a myth, but resilience is a plan. We argue for redirecting surplus toward compounding productivity, treating statistics as instruments not idols, and rebuilding the industrial backbone that reduces market domination over everyday life.If you're tired of theories that skip the engine room, this conversation connects the dials: profits, investment, productivity, debt, trade, and class incentives. This week's Advent message focused on how peace and courage are woven together in the Christmas story. Looking at Mary and Joseph, we saw that God's call often arrives with uncertainty, risk, and fear. However, peace grows when we choose obedience over self-protection.Pastor Nate begins by defining courage as the conviction that something matters more than fear, sharing a personal story of responding to God's call to missionary work in Juarez. That same tension shows up in Luke 1 when Mary, an ordinary young woman, is suddenly called to an extraordinary task, and then Joseph is blindsided by Mary's pregnancy until God intervened. Both had many reasons to hesitate, yet both said yes. This teaching emphasizes that following God does not guarantee smooth paths, but it does open the way to His peace. In contrast, Jonah's refusal to obey God's call led him into turmoil and inner conflict. Through his example, we learn that disobedience will steal peace far more than difficult circumstances do.The message closes with a simple Advent practice: signing your name at the bottom of a blank page—symbolizing a willingness to trust God without needing all the details. Peace comes not from certainty in our situation, rather certainty in the one who calls us and surrender to his will. When we say “yes” to God, like Mary and Joseph, we step into the very peace we long for this season.

They explain why the number you see every day doesn't actually tell you much about your progress. They talk about how your weight can go up or down for a lot of reasons that have nothing to do with fat loss. More importantly, they break down the four types of progress that really matter: outcome, behavior, internal, and environmental. They also share real stories from clients, funny moments, and personal experiences to help you stop obsessing over the scale. You'll leave this episode with a better mindset, more confidence, and real tools to track your wins in a healthier way.Chapters(00:00) The Square Thing in Your Bathroom(01:08) The Scale Can't Tell the Whole Story(02:23) Why So Many Give Up Too Soon(04:11) Diet Culture and Our Obsession with Weight(05:50) Why Outcome Progress Isn't Everything(06:31) The Importance of Knowing Your "Why"(07:54) What Does That Number Really Mean?(10:11) Behavioral Progress and Building Consistency(12:57) Why We Need to Focus on Lifestyle Habits(14:02) Focus on What You Can Control(15:25) Internal Progress: Wins the Scale Can't Measure(17:13) Getting to the Root of Emotional Eating(19:31) Handling Stress Eating and Creating Awareness(21:42) Environmental Progress and Setting Yourself Up(24:19) Why Motivation Fades Without Supportive Environments(26:45) Real-Life Triggers and Cleaning Up Your Space(28:31) Why the Scale Is a Dopamine Hit(30:57) Real Client Story: Four Weeks of Zero Movement(32:48) Zooming Out and Looking at Trends(34:31) The 60-Day No Scale Challenge(36:46) If the Scale Never Changed Again, Then What?(39:20) The Number on the Scale Isn't Your Value(41:24) What to Do If the Scale Didn't ExistSUBMIT YOUR QUESTIONS to be answered on the show: https://forms.gle/B6bpTBDYnDcbUkeD7How to Connect with Us:Chase's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/changing_chase/Chris' Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/conquer_fitness2021/Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/665770984678334/Interested in 1:1 Coaching: https://conquerfitnessandnutrition.com/1on1-coachingJoin The Fit Fam Collective: https://conquerfitnessandnutrition.com/fit-fam-collective

In this episode, Pastor Nate teaches on the first Sunday of Advent and the launch of our Christmas series, “Christmas: The Whole Story.” Our focus was hope rooted in God's promises and His perfect timing. We look back to the prophecies of Isaiah (Isaiah 9:2, 6), written centuries before Christ's birth, and noted how God's people waited through generations and even 400 years of silence after Malachi's final words concerning a prophet who would come to prepare the way of the Messiah. Yet in the apparent silence, God was working behind the scenes the entire time. The silence finally broke in Luke 1 with the announcement of John the Baptist's birth, showing again that God answers prayers at the right moment. Zechariah and Elizabeth's story reminds us that God is sovereign and we can trust that he hears us when we pray. Our teaching closes by reflecting on our own seasons of waiting. Advent teaches us to trust that:God keeps His Word.God is always present.God works even when we can't see it.As we continue through Advent, we hold onto the same hope Israel held: the God who fulfilled His promises then is still faithful today!

A few months after beloved son, Grant Solomon, dies in a freak accident 3 more grave plots are bought next to his. One for his younger sister Gracie.Another for the siblings' mother, Angie. And the last for the patriarch of the family, Aaron. All three whom are still, very much alive. In fact, Angie and Aaron, now divorced, are not only breathing but they're basically just busy hating each other. Would they really want to lay next to each other for the rest of eternity? And what about Gracie, Grant's younger sister who just entered her teenage years? She's most likely going to grow up, start a family of her own and be laid to rest with them…right? The Freedom For Gracie instagram posts about the 3 grave plots that were purchased far too prematurely. Apparently, the culprit is none other than Aaron. The patriarch. The father. The estranged ex-husband, who by the way, isn't new to accusations… Another glimpse at the Freedom For Gracie page provides some context: Did Aaron kill his own son Grant and is he trying to take down the rest of the family next? Police are at a loss, the public is at a loss, until five years later when the case flips on its head. Angie is the one sitting in prison facing charges of murder for hire. This is the case of the Solomon family. Full show notes available at RottenMangoPodcast.com Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Most people are told: "If you have thyroid antibodies, you have Hashimoto's. If you don't, you don't." In this episode, Dr. Eric Balcavage, creator of the Adaptive Thyroid Model™, revisits that idea and shows why antibodies are only one piece of a much bigger picture. Discover how: ✅ Th1 and Th17 T-cells, CD8 T-cells, and low T-regs drive thyroid inflammation and tissue damage ✅ PAMPs (pathogen signals) and DAMPs (cell-danger signals) can bind to pattern-recognition receptors [PRRs] on thyroid cells, triggering cytokines and interferon activity ✅ Antibodies may confirm Hashimoto's, but their absence doesn't rule it out (seronegative Hashimoto's is real) ✅ Addressing the drivers of immune imbalance — gut permeability, sleep debt, oxidative stress, nutrient deficiencies — can help restore tolerance and thyroid function Dr. Balcavage breaks down the latest research on how inflammation starts inside the thyroid, why the body isn't "attacking" itself, and what a true recovery plan looks like.
In this episode of the Red Delta Project Podcast & Live Q&A, Matt tears into one of the most seductive lies in modern fitness culture: the “hormone myth.” You know the story—fat loss is all about insulin, muscle gain is all about testosterone, and if you just follow this one magical diet or training trick, you'll “hack” your hormones and unlock perfect results. Matt breaks down why that ideology is scientifically incomplete, practically limiting, and usually just a clever way to make you work 10x harder for a fraction of the results. You'll learn why hormones like insulin, testosterone, and cortisol do matter—but are only one influence in a much bigger system that includes total calories, activity level, sleep, satisfaction, stress, and long-term habits. Matt also explains why obsessing over carb grams, heart-rate zones, or tiny hormone spikes misses the real game: consistently influencing the processes behind fat loss and muscle gain over weeks and months, not minutes and meals. In the Q&A, Matt tackles practical questions on partial range of motion vs full range, dips vs push-ups and pausing at the bottom, using ladders and “double tap” training for strength and hypertrophy, recovering faster when you're constantly sore, how isometrics can reveal (and fix) weaknesses, and why there is no single “best” exercise, program, or ideology—only what reliably moves your results forward with the least unnecessary stress.RDP Equipment and Gear: https://is.gd/5O5LLrAndrogen receptor study: https://www.frontiersin.org/journals/physiology/articles/10.3389/fphys.2018.01373/full
