Despite their love for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, both Shawn Eastridge and Richie Pepio were less than enamored with Marvel's new Disney Plus series WandaVision. And while they originally intended to just let it slide, the insanely positive fan reaction and critical response threw them for such a loop that they just had to record an entire podcast episode devoted to complaining about it. Join them now as they examine the entire series, what worked (some of it), what didn't work (most of it) and how Marvel managed to distract viewers from their lack of compelling storytelling with a unique sitcom format that ended up being all style and no substance. Come for the great conversation, stay for the hosts' emotional and mental breakdowns.HOSTSShawn EastridgeRichie Pepio

X-Men: First Class. It's broken box office records and has even eclipsed 'The Dark Knight' on Rotten Tomatoes, but does it deserve such high praise? The trio discuss the story, characters, twists and turns, villains, the cultural importance of this movie and where next for the MCU.
X-Men. The superhero film landscape at the turn of the century was bleak and much of the blame can be laid at the feet of Batman and Robin, taking the camp factor too far and turning the genre as a whole into a punchline, luckily that would all change in the year 2000. In this episode of The 602 Club host Matthew Rushing is joined for the first time by Shawn Eastridge to talk about X-Men. The Shining (1980) a Halloween RetrospectiveThe Shining is 37 years old and is an absolute classic. But it wasn't always regarded as such. When it was released in 1980 it was met with mixed reviews and was not a financial success in the least. However, Father Time has been good to this Stanley Kubrick film. It's on many "best horror" lists including that of AFI's. John Mills, Shawn Eastridge, and Tristan Riddell meet up on this Filibuster to discuss this movie right in time for Halloween. Shawn and Tristan regard it as the masterpiece many believe it to be but John definitely has a differing opinion. What do you guys think of The Shining?
This week, Shawn Eastridge, Matt Hansen, and Philip Gilfus talk the brand new entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the second Spider-Man reboot, Spider-Man: Homecoming. Did the world need another Spider-Man reboot, and does Tom Holland pull off the duality of Peter Parker/Spider-Man better than his predecessors? What about Michael Keaton as the Vulture? How well does this new iteration work within the larger MCU? The boys discuss all this and more!
On March 15, 1972, Francis Ford Coppola's cinematic adaptation of Mario Puzo's best-selling novel The Godfather was released in theaters. The film was a huge hit, the highest grossing of 1972, and went on to be nominated for nine Academy Awards, ultimately winning three including Best Picture. Today, it is widely regarded as one of the greatest films of all time, if not THE greatest. And, wouldn't you know it, Missing Frames co-host Alex Beard has never had the pleasure of watching it. Shawn Eastridge joins Alex on the 45th anniversary of the film's release to watch and discuss this absolute masterpiece. HOSTSShawn EastridgeAlex Beard

George Orwell’s classic dystopian novel 1984 is one of Missing Frames host Shawn Eastridge’s all-time favorites. And though Michael Radford’s film adaptation (released in 1984) has a decent reputation thanks to Roger Deakins’ stunning cinematography and John Hurt’s esteemed lead performance, Shawn has avoided it out of fear that it wouldn’t live up to his expectations. But no more.Join Shawn and co-hosts Brandon and Lindsey Kendrick as they discuss 1984 and the risks that come with adapting a beloved novel to the big screen. And remember…Big Brother is watching you…NOTE: As if 1984 wasn't depressing enough, we got the news that John Hurt had passed away while we were recording this episode.
