The time has come! TSR All-Star Tage Bushman joins us once again to help us solve the riddle we largely made up for ourselves: which is the supreme single rider line in the Disney Resorts? Which will win? A slot car racing attraction? A fancy video game? Some sort of Yeti-focused experience? Most importantly, how angry will Dan get at Tage's final decision? Come along with us as we explore these extremely vital issues. Then maybe visit Tage's other shows: https://www.thehubcrawl.com/ https://www.dlweekly.net/ ---------- Want an awesome theme song you can use while walking around the neighborhood? It's that time of year again! Because we can't say March Madness because we will get sued...wait....' Anyway, it is the time of year where we create the brackets and decide the best thing in all the 4 parks or some variation of that theme. This year, what is the best single rider line in the domestic parks? The intent of this episode was to break down all the single rider lines and get to a top 16 so we could debate for the final episode in March with a special guest host from DL Weekly Podcast, Tage. However, upon further investigation, Disney did it for us because while there are officially 9 at Disneyland, there are only 4 at Walt Disney word. So, while we also discuss other items I.e. price of the parks, general hot takes etc, we land on the elite 8 and determine the brackets for this year's challenge. I swear we are not becoming haters on the parks, Jimmy just posed the "is it too expensive" question and like the rest of the arguments of this show, it just depends. http://www.attractionchecklist.com - Join John B. deHaas and I as we brave the Matterhorn mountain and ride Disneyland's Matterhorn Bobsleds! Recorded on July 27, 2018. TRANSCRIPT: Welcome to Attraction Checklist. Let’s head to Disneyland to conquer one of the park's many mountains! It’s time to ride the Matterhorn Bobsleds. The Disneyland website describes this attraction by saying, "Careen through a snow-capped mountain on a speeding alpine sled while avoiding the clutches of the mythic Abominable Snowman." Guests must be 42” or taller to ride and Fastness and Single Rider options are available for this attraction. The thrill level describes the Matterhorn Bobsleds as being a Thrill and Water ride with Small Drops that is Dark, Loud and Scary. Before we begin our mountain climbing adventure, here are five fast facts about Disneyland’s Matterhorn Bobsleds. 1. The Matterhorn Bobsleds opened at Disneyland on June 14, 1959. Located on the border of Fantasyland and Tomorrowland, the Matterhorn Bobsleds was not officially a part of any land until the 1970s, when the attraction became a permanent part of Fantasyland. 2. The Matterhorn Bobsleds holds the distinction of being the first tubular steel roller coast in the world. 3. The ride’s famous Abomidable Snowman was given the name Harold by Disney Imagineers when he took up residence in the mountain in the 1970s. 4. On January 5, 2015, the ride began an extensive refurbishment to install new new effects and updated animatronics for Harold. One of the original Harold figures can now be spotted in the Collectior’s Collection at the Guardians of the Galaxy Mission Breakout attraction at Disney California Adventure 5. Yes, the rumors are true. There is a basketball hoop inside the Matterhorn. While not a regulation sized half-court, there is a basketball hoop and playing area in the attraction that is said to have been used by the mountain climber who scaled the mountain regularly to wave at guests down below. And now, let’s ride the Matterhorn Bobsleds. Along for the ride is John B. deHaas and after we ride, we’ll give you our initial thoughts on this classic attraction. This is a binaural recording so if you have headphones, put them on now as we are about to experience, the Matterhorn Bobsleds at Disneyland. We are headed to Walt Disney World to ride Disney's Hollywood Studios' Rock 'n' Rollercoaster starring Aerosmith! The attraction audio recorded for this episode is available exclusively to the Saturday Morning Media Patron Patron. Support the show and get fun Bonus content over at http://www.patreon.com/saturdaymorningmedia INTRO TRANSCRIPT: Welcome to Attraction Checklist. This episode we cover one of my favorite attractions, Rock ’n’ Rollercoaster Starring Aerosmith. Located in Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World, Rock ’n’ Rollercoaster starring Aerosmith is described in the guide map as follows: Blast coffin a stretch limousine through the streets of Los Angeles to the rockin’ tunes of Aerosmith. Guests must be 48” or taller in order to ride and the thrill level describes the attraction as being a Thrill Ride with Big Drops that is Loud. Fastpass+ and Single Rider lines are available. Before we head to our super stretch limo, here are five fast facts about Rock 'n' Rollercoaster starring Aerosmith. 1. Though there were soft openings, this attraction officially opened on July 29, 1999. There was a special, invitation only party and attendees got to ride the attraction with members of Aerosmith! 2. The rollercoaster has a track length of 3,403 feet. It features 3 inversions and reaches top speeds of 57 miles per hour. And at the start of the ride, the trains accelerate to 57 miles per hour in 2.8 seconds. 3. The attraction features a fleet of 6 ’super stretch limo’ roller coaster trains. While at any given time, one of the trains is kept in refurbishment, the other 5 can be identified by their unique license plates. Not only are the license plates different, each of the five working trains have a different soundtrack of Aerosmith. 4. Aerosmith recorded special versions of some of the songs that have new lyrics for the ride. For example, Love in and Elevator became Love on a Rollercoaster. 5. The reason the music sounds so good on the attraction is because each train features a 125-speaker, 24 sub-woofer, 32,000 watt audio system. This is all in addition to the 820 speakers in the show building and the launch area. It’s now time to ride Rock 'n' Rollercoaster starring Aerosmith at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I’m a Single Rider this time so after the ride audio I’ll give you my thoughts on this attraction. This is a binaural recording so if you have headphones, put them on now as we experience Disney’s Hollywood Studios’s Rock ’n’ Rollercoaster starring Aerosmith.
