Through OSA Consulting, he has guided emerging companies in navigating challenges and achieving growth in competitive markets, working to send people and things to space. Previously, Chris served as Chief Strategy Officer at Rogue Space Systems, where he drove strategic initiatives and expanded the company's influence in the space sector leading efforts to launch the company's first satellite Barry-1 in 2023. As CEO of Exolaunch US, he established and managed the North American operations of the German-based launch reservation and mission management provider, overseeing business development, customer relations, and market expansion. His earlier roles include Corporate Counsel and Director of DC Operations & Legislative Affairs at Bigelow Aerospace, where he helped deploy the Bigelow Expandable Activity Module (BEAM) to the International Space Station in 2015.Chris holds a bachelor's degree in Mathematical Physics and Economics and advanced degrees in law and space studies, including a Juris Doctor in Air and Space Law (Honors). He is also Cofounder, Chairman, and Treasurer of the Space Court Foundation, a multinational nonprofit dedicated to the promotion of space law education and the rule of law offering global internship and research opportunities. Chris lives with his family in Maryland where he ran for office in Maryland's 6th Congressional District in 2018.

Marieta Valdivia LeFort is a PhD candidate at University College London. She works with the Space Court Foundation and the Chilean Space Association. This is in addition to work at Yale and other pursuits. We discuss her journey from growing up in Chile to pursuing an education and profession in space law and policy. We discuss environmentalism, colonialism, equity, commercial concerns and priorities, and other aspects of space that concern the Latin America and Caribbean nations. Pankaj Mehta is a Rapporteur on the Editorial Board with the Space Court Foundation, in his final year of law at Dharmashastra National Law University in Jabalpur, India.His interests lie in space law & policy. He's studied at UNIDROIT (International Institute for the Unification of Private Law) in Rome, Italy, where he focused his research on The Cape Town Convention on International Interest in Mobile Equipment and its Associated Space Protocol. He's a member of the Space Generation Advisory Council. He's served as Editore for the Journal of Intersectional Analysisand worked with the Jindal Global Law School, researching Health Law in India. He shares the state of Indian space law and policy, He also discusses some of his particular interests and concerns regarding humanity's future in space.

On this week's episode, I sit down with two space lawyers to discuss the legacy of colonization in outer space, the role that international treaties have played historically on this topic, and how we can commit to an anti-colonial mindset going forward.One of the guests on this episode is, Julia Malette, a life-long space enthusiast and a practicing attorney in the United States.  Julia graduated from the George Washington University Law School with high honors in 2019.  During law school, Julia was a finalist at the 2018 North American rounds of the Manfred Lachs Moot Court and interned at the FCC Satellite Division.  Julia has also worked with the Satellite Industry Association, as a consultant researcher with LMI Advisors, and is a member of the Maryland Bar.  Julia is also currently the Internship Coordinator for the Space Court Foundation.I was also joined by, Mclee Kerolle, a graduate of the International Institute of Air and Space Law at Leiden University where he wrote his Master's thesis on the regulation of commercial spaceports worldwide.  He also served as the Executive Secretary for the Space Generation Advisory Council and is currently an active member of the Diversity Action Team for (EAGLE) Effective and Adaptive Governance for a Lunar Ecosystem.  Mclee is the Program Director for the Caribbean Space Society, a working group of the Institute of Caribbean Studies that aims to establish a unified Caribbean Space Agenda.  In addition, Mclee serves as the Director of International Outreach and Diversity for the Space Court Foundation.Support the show
