Yup we decided to give Star Wars Anime another try. This time we're going much deeper into each episode and give this show the respect it deserves. This week we talk about Season 1, Episode titled, "Tatooine Rhapsody". A band with big dreams must save one of their own from Jabba the Hutt and Boba Fett. We're taking a quick hiatus (the Season 2 finale of The Bad Batch did us in...) but we'll be back in May to talk #StarWarsVisions Season 2. In the meantime, enjoy a stroll down memory lane with a look back at Season 1! In this episode, we dive into The Duel, a unique and inspired look at a familiar Star Wars storyline - a Force user abandoning their Order and doing what needs to be done. We also talk Episode 2: Tatooine Rhapsody, which follows the galaxy's first pop-punk band! (Also - there's a bit of audio weirdness in this episode. It was our 3rd episode ever, sorry! We've gotten it corrected and sound sultry and smooth now!) Be sure to follow us on Twitter @DistantEchoesSW or Instagram @DistantEchoesSW. What do you do when your very brief career as a Jedi Knight apprentice comes to a screeching halt cause the Empire wants to execute you? You turn your broken lightsaber into a microphone and start a fucking rock band!!This episode of Visions was truly a fun watch. Angsty teen dreams of rock-stardom and winning over the hearts of your adversaries with your music; needless to say, it was very relatable to our infamous podcast hosts and warmed their hearts with feelings of nostalgia. That being said, the music wasn't very "Star Wars" but it was certainly enjoyable. All the themes for the band of protagonists were great and fit the characters really well. They were just so short. We wanted more!Without further ado, time to join in the adventurous feelings of rock n' roll youth!Final Rating: 3.75/7YouTube Playlist: AN-34: Star Wars Visions (Tatooine Rhapsody)Instagram: @animenoisepodcastTikTok: @animenoisepodcastYouTube Channel: AnimeNoiselinktr.ee/animenoiseCashApp: $emberbbCheck out our merch on Etsy! We discuss our thoughts and feelings of the series overall before diving deep into several of the episodes. What did we love and what did we love maybe a little less? WHERE'S THE SOUNDTRACK?! And we discuss the importance of breaking out of the Star Wars box! Don't put Star Wars in a box! There's so much I loved about this series and the implications is has on the future of Star Wars storytelling. Good stories don't have to be Canon! And we shouldn't care so much about Canon! We are OKAYYYYYY today on Roger Roger!! We're talking Star Wars: Visions again today, the second episode - Tatooine Rhapsody. Listen in as we breakdown this rock opera about a space opera.
Star Wars: Visions got off to an inspiring start with the first episode, but LucasFilm let Studio Colorido take Tatooine to a rock opera. That might be oversimplifying things, but Tatooine Rhapsody does feature some very different music from what we're used to hearing in the Star Wars universe and there was a tragedy in the making when a Hutt got hunted down and taken from his misfit band of bandmates. Steve recaps this short episode, tells listeners how to find the Filmmaker Focus featurettes, and hints at how the placement of this episode might have been strategic since it followed such a strong first showing. Cass and Tommy are taking a quick detour from The Clone Wars because... It's. Time. For. Star Wars: VISIONS. We've been WAITING for the drop of Visions, a new anthology series showcasing the talents of a variety of Japanese animators as they create brand-new stories for the Star Wars universe. In this episode, we dive into Episode 1: The Duel, a unique and inspired look at a familiar Star Wars storyline - a Force user abandoning their Order and doing what needs to be done. We also talk Episode 2: Tatooine Rhapsody, which follows the galaxy's first pop-punk band! (Spoiler, we loved BOTH episodes and can't wait for more.) (Also - there's a bit of audio weirdness in this episode. Our apologies! We've gotten it corrected and it will be stellar for episode 4!) Today again, Dustin breaks down episode two of Star Wars Visions on Disney Plus! This episode of Tatooine Rhapsody was a fun light hearted episode that didn't really have a lot of plot but was a fun little story about a Rock Band in Space, which is different but not the worst thing to come from Lucasfilm.
