L'esperada cinquena edició dels Fosquets de Líthica arrencarà el 3 de juliol amb una proposta musical de gran arrel local i amb projecció internacional: l'actuació d'Anna Ferrer. Y así como en 1948 en San Isidro, Costa Rica, doña Andrea apagó el fuego de los fogones debido a que entendió mal lo que su jefe militar quería que hiciera, también hay quienes actualmente apagan el fuego del Espíritu Santo a causa de que entienden mal la voluntad de Dios, su Jefe espiritual. Hiper-conectados no podemos lograr nada. Hiper-ansiosos o psicóticos mucho menos. El sistema se alimenta de nuestras necesidades y desesperaciones y a cambio nos ofrece un maquiavélico placebo. Lo que no sabemos es que la pastillita virtual, día a día, se va desvirtuando. Y estamos siendo usados por los poderosos y violentos para perpetuar el régimen establecido. De tanto que vemos muerte... somos muerte. De tanto que scrolleamos (subimos con el dedito) nos scrollean. Y de tanto que los perros ladran, se conflictúan y amenazan... nosotros también ladramos, nos conflictuámos y amenazamos. Y así se siente el mundo desde adentro: como un estallido que rompe en pedazos cientos de ciudades y, claro está, no va ni vuelve a ninguna parte. Me duelen los ojos de tanto mirar. Pero voy a mirar todo igual. Recuerdo cuando era una niña. Quiero decir: hace lejos. Y sacábamos los colchones a la vereda y contábamos, hasta cansarnos, las estrellas. Ahora cerramos todo con veinte vueltas de llave. Y vivimos atemorizados por atacar o ser atacados. ¿En qué nos convertimos? ¿Realmente somos ésto? ¿Somos la boludez y el boludeo? "Desenchufen el mundo que me está haciendo daño" o "Paren el mundo que me quiero bajar". Ambas son, en simultáneo, el mismo grito de ayuda que pedimos cuando nos sentimos empantanados. Porque, claro, uno puede soportar muchas cosas. ¿Pero que el país se convierta en una cacería? ¿Que tu vecino se convierta en tu enemigo? ¿Que ya no se pueda reír, confiar y cantar? Me duelen los ojos de tanto mirar. Pero voy a mirar todo igual. Quizá porque sólo así sepa respirar. O porque nomás me han inyectado un cerebro en los vasos sanguíneos. Entonces pienso con la sangre y me derramo. Y realmente quisiera no sufrir, pero "es parte de lo crudo la crudeza". Entonces cuando se avecina el golpe, a esta altura, sólo pido que ya no duela tanto. Desenchufen el mundo que me está haciendo daño. Pongan algodones en el piso. Abran las ventanas para que venga la lluvia. Salten de la foto al "beso artesanal". Y si aún así nos prohíben soñar... pongamos la pava y hagamos lo primitivo: mirarnos a los ojos, hablarnos, sonreírnos.

The now-infamous (somewhat) personal Zoom Q&A state senator Elena Parent (D) and one of her constituents - Lena Kotler - got a lot of attention because of but a few minutes of the dialogue. Like most people, I heard it and focused just on that portion because of the mushy messaging Senator Parent exhibited with regards to the rights of the imprisoned who are trans. It's a party problem more than a "Parent problem," dating as far back as last summer. That's when Trump campaign attack ads tied former VP Kamala Harris to the existence of the right for trans prisoners to have gender reassignment surgeries using taxpayer dollars. Neither Harris nor did any Democrat(s) codify that right; it's a "Constitutional" thing, and that's the shortest, simplest response no one on the business end of the attack has embraced. Nonetheless, there's WAY more to that "Elena Parent v trans mom" conversation, and the senator deserves it to be heard. Frankly, Kotler was completely out-of-line, over-the-top and belligerent to an unruly degree. Her tone, tenure and language to Parent was beyond reproach and warrants an apology, but who apologizes anymore, right? I'm honestly stuneed Senator Parent stayed on the call as long as she did, and she's to be commended for that. Take a listen for yourself and tell me what you think.
