Andor Season 2 - Ep 345: We return to a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away while we cover the 2nd and final season of the Disney+ Star Wars series ”ANDOR” on Normies Like Us! @NormiesLikeUs https://www.instagram.com/normieslikeus/ @jacob https://www.instagram.com/jacob/ @MikeHasInsta https://www.instagram.com/mikehasinsta/ https://letterboxd.com/BabblingBrooksy/ https://letterboxd.com/hobbes72/ https://letterboxd.com/mikejromans/ Special Guest: Adam Bennett.
Frank and Thomas take on the powerful ending of Andor Season 2, reflecting on its emotional resonance, brilliant writing, and how it elevates Cassian's story to legendary status. They dissect key character arcs like Luthen's sacrificial role, Dedra's collapse within the Empire, and Kleya's haunting rise. From hallway fights to rebel politics, this finale proves Andor is one of the boldest Star Wars stories ever told. Timestamps and Topics: 00:00 Intro and reflections on the journey 01:30 Final three episodes overview 03:10 Luthen's arc and thematic payoff 07:00 Dedra's tragic fate and Empire hierarchy 13:30 Kleya's cold resolve and emotional closure 17:00 Cassian's mission, K-2SO's brutal debut 26:00 Rebel council confrontation and Mon Mothma's silence 30:00 Toast to the fallen rebels 38:00 Cassian's legacy lives on 41:00 Final thoughts, theories, and rankings Key Takeaways: Andor ends with a grounded, emotional finale that sets up Rogue One seamlessly. Luthen, Kleya, and Dedra each represent unique costs of rebellion and empire. Cassian's unwavering heart and actions make him a modern Star Wars icon. K-2SO's entrance redefines droid combat in the best way. The finale captures the shift from guerilla rebellion to organized resistance. Quotes: “Luthen is that dagger—ornate on the outside, forged for the fight.” “You die a rebel and become legend, or serve the Empire and get forgotten.” “The rebellion remembers their heroes around a drink, not in the history books.” “Cassian did more than anyone at that table and asked for nothing in return.” “This show is Star Wars without the myth—just people making impossible choices.” Call to Action: Enjoy the finale as much as we did? In this powerful episode of Challenge Accepted, Frank is joined by Jonathan to dissect the political, emotional, and action-packed core of Andor Season 2 Episodes 7–9. Together, they explore the tragic Ghorman Massacre, Mon Mothma's pivotal speech, the expanding spy network, and Cassian's next chapter. With deep analysis and personal insight, they reflect on how these episodes tie together classic Star Wars themes with real-world parallels—delivering some of the most compelling moments in modern Star Wars storytelling. Timestamps and Topics: 00:00 - Introduction and Jonathan returns 00:40 - The political horror of the Ghorman Massacre 02:00 - Set design of the plaza and video game comparisons 04:10 - Cassian's injury and introduction of the force healer 05:45 - Is the Force conscious? Free will and balance discussion 08:25 - Bix's emotional exit and its impact on Cassian 10:10 - Mon Mothma's political maneuvering and Bail Organa's sacrifice 11:40 - Syril's arc and tragic loyalty to the Empire 13:00 - Dedra's descent into darkness 15:30 - Cassian's confrontation with Syril 17:00 - Aftermath of the massacre and the consequences 18:45 - The bellboy's subtle help and hidden rebellion 20:00 - Ghorman's massacre as political propaganda 22:00 - Cassian's escape and rise of K-2SO 24:30 - Episode 9: Mon Mothma's speech and the spark of rebellion 26:00 - Rebels connection and broader context of the speech 29:00 - Rewatching the original trilogy with new context 30:45 - Hopes for a prequel about Luthen and Saw Gerrera 32:00 - Mon Mothma meeting Cassian for the first time 34:00 - Predictions for the upcoming Andor finale episodes Key Takeaways: The Ghorman Massacre is a tragic turning point, echoing real-world atrocities and highlighting the manipulative power of propaganda. The set design and realism in Andor immerse viewers in a grounded, lived-in Star Wars galaxy. The subtle introduction of Force healing adds depth without relying on Jedi tropes. Syril Karn remains a tragic figure—loyal to an empire that exploits him, destined to become a symbol of moral ambiguity. Cassian's trajectory continues toward heroism, setting up his Rogue One partnership with K-2SO. Mon Mothma's speech might feel underwhelming alone, but it serves as a crucial rallying cry across the Rebellion. This trio of episodes shows Andor at its most emotionally and politically complex—combining action, tragedy, and momentum. Quotes: “You have lived rent free in that man's mind for years. You don't even know his face.” – Frank “The Force isn't just about lightsabers and super jumps. It's an energy that pushes back when imbalance grows.” – Jonathan “Star Wars is at its best when it's echoing real-world horrors—this arc proves that.” – Frank “Her speech wasn't to sway the Empire. It was a signal to every rebel cell: it's time.” – Frank Call to Action: Love these deep dives into Andor? Empire propaganda is shown through chillingly realistic parallels to history. The show doesn't shy away from mature, dark themes rarely seen in Star Wars. Visual direction and character writing are among the strongest in the franchise. Quotes: “This isn't just Star Wars. This is storytelling that trusts the audience.” “The rebellion is messy. The empire is clean. That's what makes it terrifying.” “I wish you were drunk... That line hit harder than any explosion.” “Cassian's not just fighting the Empire. When adjusted for inflation, Star Wars is the second-highest-grossing film in North America (behind Gone with the Wind) and the fourth-highest-grossing film in the world. It received ten Oscar nominations (including Best Picture), winning seven. In 1989, it became one of the first 25 films that was selected by the U.S. Library of Congress for preservation in the National Film Registry for being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant". At the time, it was the most recent film in the registry and the only one chosen from the 1970s. In 2004, its soundtrack was added to the U.S. National Recording Registry, and was additionally listed by the American Film Institute as the best movie score of all time a year later. Today, it is widely regarded by many in the motion picture industry as one of the greatest and most important films in film history. First time you saw the movie? Plot:A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away... The intro crawl tells of a galatic civil war, how the rebels obtained schematics for the imperial death star and we join our heros trying to escape the empire. We then drop into a space battle over a planet. Inside the ship, droids and troops running around, preparing to be boarded. The door explodes and storm troopers enter, and kill all the rebels. Darth Vader menacingly enters and surveys the damage, and moves on. 3P0 sees Leia talking to R2, and they move on. Vader interrogates a rebel, killing him, as they search for the death star plans. Troopers find and stun Leia as the droids escape in an escape pod and crash towards the planet. Leia and Vader talk and Vader accuses her of being a rebel. They can't find the plans, and plan to scuttle the ship, and to track the escape pod thinking the plans are in there. 3P0 and R2 argue about which way to go, and split up. 3P0 thinks he sees a transport and yells for help, and R2 moves into a canyon and is being watched, then ambushed and taken by Jawas. R2 comes to in a storage room with a bunch of other droids, and finds 3P0 again. They're brought out for a line up with other droids and we're introduced to our hero, Luke Skywalker, and his aunt and uncle. 3P0 and R2 are bought and taken to be cleaned up. Luke complains about being on Tatooine, and they officially meet. Luke is working on R2 when he finds a holo recording on Leia asking Obi Wan Kenobi for help. Luke discusses the new droids, who they may belong to, and how he wants to go to the academy early, but Owen shuts that down, that he needs Luke for the harvest. Luke returns to find R2 has taken off, but it's too dangerous to go searching for him with all the sand people around. S:-This is going to be hard, because it's such a good, classic movie. Love the intro/opening.-Love all the classic wipes to change scenes, wasn't really done in movies at this time-What color is 3P0s leg?-Vader voice before being dubbed.-It's incredible how much of this was done practically, the ships and everything.-Luke starts off as a whiny bitch (wanting to go to Toshi station for power converters, complaining about the holo message)-Never realized Uncle Owen calls Obi Wan a "crazy old wizard"-The music when Luke stares at the double sunset... Epic. Just the music in general The next day Luke takes 3P0 searching for R2, and we see sand people tracking them. As Luke is searching for the sand people, he's ambushed, and they go through his speeder, before being run off by some strange noises, and a man in a robe, who checks on Luke and calls R2 out. Luke comes to and explains why he's out so far, and he tells Luke he is, or was Obi Wan Kenobi. They leave to avoid more sand people and Obi Wan then tells Luke about his father, totally altering what has come to be known as canon now... but regardless, then gives Luke his fathers light saber, that he took from him after cutting off his arms and legs and leaving him to die, which he conveniently leaves out. Luke takes one of the most dangerous weapons in the galaxy, and then points it directly at his face. Luke asks how his father died, and Obi Wan again lies to him, and then tells Luke about the force. He then activates the message from Leia, who asks him for help. Obi Wan asks for Lukes help, which he says he can't help, but offers him a ride... How generous. Aboard the imperial ship, imperial officers bicker about security as Vader and Tarkin enter and tell them the emperor has dissolved the remnants of the galatic senate, the last bit of the old republic. An officer questions Vaders commitment to the force, and Vader finds his lack of faith disturbing, as he force chokes him. You think vader ever force chokes himself? At least if he did, if he passed out, he wouldn't die like with a belt. Or does the suit take care of everything for him? Imagine having to take a dump with that thing on. Luke and Obi Wan find the Jawas that sold him the droids, slaughtered, and races home to find his aunt and uncle dead. Aboard the death star, Vader interrogates Leia using a droid. Luke returns to Obi Wan, and agrees to come with him, and learn the ways of the force. They go to Mos Isley for transport, and we see the first use of the force, when the storm troopers decide those are the droids they were looking for. In the cantina, Obi Wan is talking to pilots and Luke finds himself in trouble, when Obi Wan steps in and cuts an arm off... he's got experience doing that. We meet Han Solo and Chewbacca, pilots of the millennium falcon. They strike a deal for passage to Alderran and as they're leaving Solo is stopped by Greedo, and mercenary who is hunting Solo for Jabba the Hut; as Greedo is about to shoot Han, he's instead shot from under the table. On the death star, Leia is said to be resistant to the mind probe, so Tarkin suggests an alternative form of persuasion, and sets course for Alderran. Luke sells his speeder, and he and Obi Wan move to the hanger, they're being followed. In the hanger, Han has a discussion with Jabba about owing him money and they agree to an extra 15%. Storm Troopers show up and they take off. In space, they're being pursued by imperial ships, but make the jump to light speed. S:-Why doesn't Obi Wan recognize R2?-It's funny how much the cannon has changed, the back story about Vader, Obi Wan, and so on.-Still had the edit where Greedo and Han shoot at the same time. HAN SHOT FIRST. Also, what's with "muclunky"?-"ma klounkee" which translates to "it'll be the end of you." It's been said before in the Star Wars saga: Sebulba says it to Anakin in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace... So the prequel. The death star approaches alderran, and Tarkin tells Leia he's going to show the destructive power of the death star by destroying Alderran, she gives up the location of the rebel base, but destroys Alderaan anyway. Obi Wan feels the disturbance in the force, but tells Luke to keep training. Han gives his world view about not believing in the force, and being a huge poopy pants. Leia is shown to have given the empire bad intel about the rebel base, big surprise, and Tarkin wants her executed. Luke and the crew arrive to find Alderran no longer there, as they pursue a tie fighter, they're caught in a tractor beam and pulled on to the death star. After a search, no one is found; they're shown to be hiding in smuggling compartments. They get some storm troopers to come on board, and steal their armor. They infiltrate the communications room and determine how to disable the tractor beam, and Obi Wan takes off. R2 locates Leia; Luke wants to rescue her, and convinces Han to help by appealing to his greed... and promises of blowies. Not really. As they make their way to the detention block, Obi Wan is sneaking around and Vader can sense him. They spring their plan and take over the detention block. Luke gets Leia out of her cell, meanwhile Vader is telling Tarkin he senses Obi Wan. Troopers invade the detention block and they're trapped. They escape down a trash shoot... That's, weirdly, in the middle of a hallway in the detention block. In the trash, something pulls Luke underwater, but then lets him go for some reason...which we then find out is the walls start closing in, compacting. They call 3P0 for help, but he doesn't respond. When he remembers to turn the com link on, they have the compactor shut down and they're saved. Obi Wan, still sneaking around, finds and disables the tractor beam... in a cavernous room and a panel with no railing. As they start back to the ship, they're split up and chased by troopers. Luke and Leia are trapped without a bridge, but swing to safety with a kiss for luck *gross*. As they run, Obi Wan finds Vader waiting for him, and they duel. Obi Wan warns Vader if the strikes him down, he'll become more powerful than he can imagine. The duel draws the attention of the troopers guarding the Falcon, and they all move. Luke sees what's happening and Obi Wan sacrifices himself, disappearing and becoming one with the force. As Luke fires, he hears Obi Wans voice telling him to run, and they take off. Luke is upset, but has to help Han fight off the tie fighters to escape. They defeat the fighters and celebrate... but Tarkin reveals he had a tracking beacon put on the ship. S:-Why does a planet blow up like that?-After jumping down the garbage chute, why didn't the troopers just follow them?-Han shoots the wall then they first get down there, and it bounces all over, but when he shoots in the water at the tentacle around Luke, no bouncing.-Why are there such cavernous rooms like that in a ship? It's a huge waste of vertical space.-I still don't understand the orientation of the guns on the Falcon. They climb ladders up and down, but it looks like they're across from each other. They arrive at a rebel base on Yavin moon, to have the schematics analyzed to see if there is a weakness to the death star; but the death star isn't far behind. They find a small thermal exhaust port that leads directly to the core, and are told a direct hit with a proton torpedo will start a chain reaction and destroy the station. Luke explains how he was a sociopath back on Tatooine saying he used to bullseye wamp rats similar in size to the exhaust port, so the shot isn't impossible. Makes you wonder if he also wet the bed, and started fires, too? He does kill a lot of people, maybe he's actually a serial killer and he's feeding his dark passenger? Just a thought. The death star orbits the planet to destroy the moon in ~30 minutes. Luke finds Han packing up, and guilt trips him. Luke speaks with Leia, and is still mopy about Obi Wan; as he preps and takes off, he hears Obi Wan again, telling him the force will be with him. They take off and begin their attack mission. As they attack the ship, Luke continues to hear Obi Wan, and the tie fighters attack. The bombers start their run, but they're attacked by Vader and his tie escort and destroyed. Tarkin is told there is a chance of an issue, but he dismisses the threat. The x-wings make a run, and again Vader attacks destroying 2/3 ships. A shot is taken at the exhaust port, but misses. Luke tells the remaining pilots they're going in full speed... Wedge asks if he can pull out at that speed, which Luke replies, "I'm a man, not a couch. I don't pull out." He wants to make the death star his twinkie, not a toaster strudle. They start their run, and Vader again comes in. Picking off the ships, one after another, the move to shoot Lukes... as he approaches the exhaust port, he hears Obi Wan again, to use the force. Vader comments that he feel he's strong with the force, he switches off his targeting computer, the death star is shown in firing range of the rebel base, as Vader takes his shot, Han shows back up and saves Luke, who fires the torpedo into the exhaust port right as the station powers up to destroy the rebel base, and it blows up. Back at the base, they all celebrate, even though R2 is damaged. A ceremony is shown where Leia presents Han and Luke with medals... but not Chewie. That bitch. Probably upset because he got a red rocket one time around her, but he's a young wookie and can't help himself sometimes. Give the guy a break, damn. Oh, and R2 is shown to be fine. The gathered crowd applauds them and cut to credits. S:-As involved as 3P0 and R2 was in the prequels and other shows (Rebels and Clone Wars, how does NO ONE remember C3P0 and R2?!?!-Was there ever really any explanation as to why Chewie didn't get a medal? In Episode 4, special guest/George Lucas mega fan Francesca Cooper and host/Star Wars neophyte Annabel McConnachie take on the first half of the 1977 cult classic 'Star Wars: Episode IV (A New Hope)'. S3E7 - Assassin 3:48Tasked to protect Senator Padmé Amidala during a political mission to Alderaan, Padawan Ahsoka Tano is plagued by recurring visions of recently-deceased bounty hunter, Aurra Sing. Unable to clear her mind, Ahsoka worries that the stress of conflict is finally getting to her until her visions indeed prove prophetic. Padmé narrowly avoids death when Aurra Sing attempts to assassinate her. Together, Padmé and Ahsoka trap the hunter, and Ahsoka discovers the true villain behind the plot to kill Padmé: the incarcerated gangster, Ziro the Hutt.S3E8 - Evil Plans 10:42In the middle of a routine shopping trip on Coruscant, C-3PO is abducted by the bounty hunter Cad Bane. Bane is looking for information about the Senate building on behalf of Jabba the Hutt. Finding C-3PO devoid of useful information, Bane and his accomplices kidnap R2-D2 and extract the vital data, before memory-wiping the droids of the incident, and letting them on their way. S3E9 - Hunt for Ziro 16:37Cad Bane has broken Ziro the Hutt out of prison. The Hutt Council demands that Ziro tell them where he's hidden vital -- and incriminating -- information: a journal detailing the criminal activities of the Hutt families. Ziro makes another daring escape with the help of his estranged (and strange) lover, Sy Snootles. Bane is back on the Hutt's trail -- but he's not the only one. The Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi and Quinlan Vos need to find him too. A chase through the swamps of Nal Hutta leads the pursuers to Ziro's enormous mother, Mama the Hutt, who points them to Teth. It is here, in the secret grave of Ziro's father, that the fugitive Hutt has hidden the diary. When he retrieves it, Snooty reveals her true spots. S3E10 - Heroes on Both Sides 21:42When the Senate begins debating a bill that would eliminate government oversight of the Banking Clan's activities in order to fund the war, Padmé and Ahsoka travel in secret to the capital of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Amidala attempts to forge a peace agreement with the Separatists, while Ahsoka sees, for the first time, the people of the Confederacy. Padmé's friend, Mina Bonteri, spearheads the peace initiative, and convinces the Separatist Congress to sue for peace. Meanwhile, on Coruscant, Senators Lott Dod and Gume Saam conspire with Banking Clan representative Nix Card and Count Dooku to make the banking deregulation a reality. At Dooku's command, General Grievous engineers an attack at the central power distribution grid on Coruscant, carried out by Separatist demolition droids. S3E11 - Pursuit of Peace 35:14Padmé, Bail Organa and Onaconda Farr attempt to rally Senators in opposition to a bill that would appropriate funds for millions of new clone troops and have disastrous financial consequences for the Republic. Their opposition to the measure, however, soon makes them targets for intimidation and attacks by hired guns. After escaping two hired thugs -- Chata Hyoki and Robonino -- in a harrowing speeder bike chase, Padmé is able to sway the Senate with a stirring account of how the war has affected an everyday civilian, her handmaiden Teckla Minnau.S3E12 - Nightsisters 41:07Troubled by Asajj Ventress' growing prowess with the dark side of the Force, Darth Sidious commands Count Dooku to eliminate her. But Ventress survives Dooku's assassination attempt, and the jilted former apprentice vows to take revenge, enlisting the aid of her kinswomen -- the mystical Nightsisters -- in her sinister scheme. Mother Talzin, leader of the Nightsisters, veils Asajj and her fellow assassins in a cloak of invisibility, and they infiltrate Dooku's palace on Serenno. Though they fail to kill the Count, their use of captured Jedi lightsabers leads Dooku to mistakenly believe that the Jedi have tried to kill him. Interested in protection, he requests a new apprentice from Mother Talzin.

Hot Toys is known as the premier top-of-the-line figure retailer in the fandom space. A Very Heated Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker ReviewIf there's one thing all Star Wars fans have in common, it's passion. That passion often brings us together in ways that only cinema and Star Wars can, but it can also drive us to opposite ends when it comes to debating what makes Star Wars good, and what doesn't. The "sequel trilogy" of Star Wars films that we've all come to enjoy (to varied degrees) over the past few years of been some of the most divisive additions to canon of all time.Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, as the conclusion to the epic saga spanning 9 films and numerous decades, may prove to be the most divisive yet, and we, as many groups of friends are, find ourselves split right down the middle. However, that makes for a really fun show! Some of you may love it. Some of you may hate it. Either way, in episode 98 of ReelBlend, you'll find something to relate to.
