Its all over but the crying. In a very fitting, poignant last story arc we follow Cassian in the period just prior to Rogue One and find out what happens to everyone from this amazing series. We do our best to discuss some of theories, easter eggs, connections, and details of the final arc. We even take a victory lap for one of our predictions. Manny Bothans went foraging for Bib Fortuna at the Ring of Caffeine. It would be a shame to not listen to this episode. Note: This episode doesn't answer where he is, because we don't actually know yet in Star Wars canon. I hope it provokes your thoughts and for those unaware that Rotta exists...just know maybe we'll see him eventually. During the book of Boba Fett we saw the arrival of the twin hutts, Jabba's cousins. Now while I found it to be a little too convenient that they showed up around the same time Boba did and not during the last 5 years, I think I can theorize on a few things. I think while Bib Fortuna did take the throne of Jabba after his passing, he was probably just a puppet for Jabba's family. He was a place holder, just taking orders from the higher ups and keeping the seat warm. He was like the manager when the owner wasn't there themselves. Once Boba arrived, talk spread through the galaxy that he killed Bib, and obviously this wasn't good for business for the Hutts. So the twins arrived to stake their claim and tell Boba whatsup after their puppet died. So, speaking of rightful heirs to Jabba's throne, wouldn't it be Rotta? Jabba's son? We haven't seen him for about 25-30 years since the clone wars so where could he be? I think he's probably ageing slowly like Grogu, and while he might be 30, he's still a toddler or like a young child, not fit to rule Tatooine on his dad's throne. So until Rotta was ready, the twins had Bib Fotuna watch the place and essentially just be the errand boy until either the Twins came down to Tatooine or Rotta grew up enough to rule, himself. Now Hutts live to be as old as Yoda's species, or even older, well over a century, whereas Jabba died at the young age of just 600, his cousins and son will surely outlive him. So from here I think Boba needs the good graces of the crime leaders to take out the twins, and in order to do that, maybe he has to do a few odd jobs to win their respect. If he goes toe to toe with Black Krrsantan it's not going to be good for him, but if he gets Bossk on his side, then I can see this going in his favour. Ultimately I'd like for Boba, Fennec, Bossk and Black to become the new suicide squad going into Season 2. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away… Take some time this week to remember your original happy hour: Saturday mornings as a kid, waking up at dawn, jumping on the couch with a bowl of chocolate cereal, turning on the ‘toons, tuning out the outside world, and working your way into a sugar hangover before noon. This week, we celebrate May the Fourth Be With You and the sweet sounds of Star Wars with two GIANT guests, Supervising Sound Editor at Skywalker Sound and actor MatthewWood (Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, The Book of Boba Fett) and composer JosephShirley (CreedIII, TheMandalorian) Landing the apprenticeship of his dreams with sound effects legend and Oscar winner Ben Burt, MatthewWood took to sound editing like a Mon Calamari to water. And, like the snap hiss of a lightsaber or the twangy ripple of an Imperial blaster Matthew hyper-jumped to Star Wars royalty with sound supervisor credits that include a ton of Star Wars AND some quality character work as the voice of “General Grievous” and the modern physical embodiment of our favorite majordomo, “Bib Fortuna” among many more. And if that isn't enough to milk your moof, we sat down with composer JosephShirley at WonderCon2023 to talk about landing his Star Wars dream job and scoring, what we declare, as the greatest Star Wars scene of the Disney era. You don't want to miss this! Join Grim Shea, Jimmy The Gent and Marke as we beep, boop, pew, pew and Wilhelm scream the heck out of this May the 4th! MTFBWY!

Hyperspace Theories podcast returns to the realm of Star Wars storytelling with this month's episode, in which Tricia Barr and B.J. Priester discuss The Book of Boba Fett. In addition to its seven chapter, we also consider insights from the Disney Gallery episode exploring the development and production of the Disney+ series. We begin with the titular character. The first four episodes of The Book of Boba Fett portray two sets of events in his life: his experiences from his escape from the Sarlaac Pit until his appearance in “The Tragedy” chapter of The Mandalorian season two to reclaim his father's armor, and his return to Tatooine to establish himself as “daimyo” upon the throne previously occupied by Jabba the Hutt and Bib Fortuna. Each of these storylines contains some interesting ideas for Fett's character development, but both fail to meet the potential of those ideas. In addition, the series at times relies heavily on homages to famous cinema (like Lawrence of Arabia or The Godfather) and references to previous Star Wars material (including comics, books, and videogames) without challenging or subverting some of the damaging tropes frequently found in those sources, particularly in the thin characterization of the female characters and the fate of the indigenous Tusken tribe that welcomed Fett into its community. Although the finale episode delivers exciting Star Wars action sequences, it ends on a meta-referential note: Fett himself wonders aloud whether he should have been pursuing the objective of becoming daimyo in the first place. Even more jarring, the fifth and sixth chapters of The Book of Boba Fett barely even include him at all. Instead, the focus on events that we would have expected to appear in season three of The Mandalorian, including Din Djarin's return to the Armorer's covert, his acquisition of a new starship to replace the RazorCrest, and his paternal caring for Grogu. Another appearance by Ahsoka Tano delivers unexpected emotion for Din in doing what's right for Grogu, as well as for the audience with dialogue overtly linking her current role in the galaxy to her past with the Skywalker family. A surprisingly lengthy appearance by Luke reveals more about Grogu, while also testing both Luke and Grogu in their commitment to the Jedi path. Directed by Bryce Dallas Howard and Dave Filoni, respectively, these two episodes offer far stronger Star Wars storytelling than the rest of The Book of Boba Fett. The after credits scene at the end of The Mandalorian shows Boba Fett sitting on Jabba the Hutt's old throne with Fennec Shand seated next to him. This statue captures that moment beautifully. Watch the unbox video to see what I think about this statue. Product Summary Sideshow and Iron Studios are proud to announce the latest from the Art Scale 1:10 line - Boba Fett & Fennec Shand on Throne Deluxe! This Star Wars Collectible Art Scale Statue is limited edition and comes with a detailed hand-painted base. In the past, Boba Fett was one of the most feared bounty hunters in the galaxy, working for both the criminal underworld and the Empire, thus becoming a legend. After a long time, when many thought he had come to an end by facing Luke Skywalker and falling into the fearsome Sarlacc Pit on Tatooine, he resurfaced in the series The Mandalorian, recovering his armor and taking from Bib Fortuna the throne that once belonged to the deceased Jabba. With Fennec Shand at his side, he became the new big gangster boss in the galaxy. The bounty hunter sits on a throne decorated with monstrous bronze heads, which meticulously replicates the minimum details of the post-credits scene from Season 2 of the series The Mandalorian. Thus Iron Studios presents its statue "Boba Fett and Fennec Shand on Throne Art Scale 1/10 Deluxe - The Mandalorian - Iron Studios". This Star Wars statue features the iconic Star Wars mercenary in his restored Mandalorian armor, with his classic blaster rifle resting on the left arm of the concrete throne, and also features his lethal ally sitting on the right arm of the throne, holding her blaster rifle. The statue faithfully reproduces the features of the Chinese-American actress Ming-Na Wen who plays Fennec. The scene is a preview of The Book of Boba Fett, another Star Wars spin-off series scheduled for late 2021. During the Republic Era, another legendary bounty hunter named Jango Fett was the genetic donor for the creation of the Clone Troopers, soldiers genetically altered at birth for fast growth and loyalty, and submission to the army of the old Galactic Republic. Fett demanded to receive for the donation, in addition to a sum of money, a single unaltered clone of himself, which he named Boba Fett and raised him as a son. After seeing his father killed in combat by Jedi Master Mace Windu, Boba, unsuccessful in his quest for revenge, was imprisoned on Coruscant. After serving his sentence, he followed the same professional path as his father, working with several other hunters. Elite mercenary and assassin Fennec Shand had her first appearance in the fifth episode of The Mandalorian series, in which she was hunted by Mando and his ally Calican, being saved by Boba Fett in the 14th episode of the series, thus becoming his partner. She helped Boba Fett retrieve his armor and later rescue Grogu (Baby Yoda) to honor a deal. At the end of the mission, she follows Boba to Tatooine, where he takes control of the remnants of the Hutt cartels. One more release from Iron Studios, in its The Mandalorian line, which already features figures from Mando, Moff Gideon, and Bo-Katan. Product Specifications License: Star Wars Product Type: 1:10 Scale Statue Manufactured by: Iron Studios Product Size: 9" H (228.6mm) x 10.6" W (269.24mm) x 6.7" L (170.18mm) Product Weight: 7.5 lbs (3.4 kg) SUBSCRIBE to watch more videos like this one! Tune in for Arthur's dissection of The Book of Boba Fett, the Disney+ Star Wars spinoff series that takes place after the events of Season 2 of The Mandalorian. For the first time ever, fabled bounty hunter Boba Fett is in the lead role as he—with the aid of assassin ally Fennec Shand—endeavors to take control of the criminal empire that had once been ruled by Jabba the Hutt and then Bib Fortuna. Yep, this means more time on the desert planet of Tatooine. In addition, Arthur touches on the 2022 Oscar nominees, gripes about TBOBF pulling a Ulysses Klaue, and gets some amusement out of trying to figure out what a “gonk's scomp jack” might be. Created by Jon Favreau, The Book of Boba Fett stars Temuera Morrison, Ming-Na Wen, David Pasquesi, Jennifer Beals, Sophie Thatcher, Jordan Bolger, Matt Berry, Carey Jones, Stephen Root, Danny Trejo, and Thundercat/Stephen Lee Bruner. On the January 12, 2022 episode of /Film Daily, /Film editorial director Peter Sciretta is joined by /Film editor Brad Oman and Star Wars expert Bryan Young to have a spoiler-filled discussion about The Book of Boba Fett Chapter 3 “The Streets of Mos Espa”. In The Spoiler Room: The Book of Boba Fett Chapter 3 “The Streets of Mos Espa” FeedbackMatthew F wrote in: Last episode the question was asked why it took so long for Hutts to get involved again with Tatooine after the death of Jabba. In the Star Wars comics there has recently been a crossover event called "War of the Bounty Hunters". This takes place between Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi and in this story, Darth Vader kills all of the Grand Hutt Council except for Jaba. … I imagine it took some time for the Hutt family to sort itself out from this huge power vacuum and that there was likely some jockeying for position among the Hutts. Perhaps, Bib Fortuna was working for the Twins or wasn't working with the Hutts but considered too low priority compared to getting other things sorted out. Matt also speculated that something bad would happen to the tuskens in this weeks episode and boy was he right but also that he thinks the “Tuskens will be eventually seen in the "present day" part of the episode. To use a Dune reference, I think the Tuskens will be Boba's "desert power".” James h writes in to point out that Before they changed the setting of the train heist in Solo: a Star Wars story to Vandor, it took place in some kind of desert and the concept art in the art of book looks almost exactly like what we saw in last weeks episode. Jabbas palace shot was repurposed: The shot of the hallway 37 seconds into Chapter 1 is a zoomed still frame of Luke's entrance into Jabba's Palace with smoke added and a pan across the frame. Nathan C writes in: “Remember in chapter 9 of Mandalorian when Cobb Vanth (Timothy Olyphant) had drunk that coconut looking thing? I think it's that. I know that Cobb Vanth made it look disgusting whereas Boba Fett drank it like normal water. Boba is also desperate for water.” Baz McAlister pointed out: Out of the top-billed cast of five in that first ep, the youngest is 47 (Matt Berry). The rest are late 50s/early 60s. And two non-American born POC. Alexandria from California: So in the scene in the street when Boba and Fennec are surrounded by the people with shields, Boba and Fennec are getting pretty heavily beat up until the Gamorrean Guards show up. I kept wondering during the scene why Boba wouldn't use his jet pack to get out of the ring of shields. Do you think there is a reason for this?” DR-MR How did Bib Fortuna and Max Rebo escape the destruction of Jabba's barge? Pablo Hidalgo explains “There's always been a certain amount of time between when first deck gun blast and the final explosion otherwise the good guys wouldn't have escaped either. In the ‘90s EU books there are plenty of survivors, including Max Rebo, Bossk and Bib Fortuna, so it's not a new idea. I figured the second those shutters close on Jabba's lounge and everyone runs away screaming (leaving Leia alone to strangle him), all those folks were running *somewhere*… Whiphids and children first.” Jakob, Anders and David from Sweden: Regarding the theme song. Ludwig Göransson seems to be heavily inspired by this song “The Mattis and Borka song” from the 1984 swedish children's fantasy movie “Ronia, the Robber's Daughter”. Growing up in Sweden in the 80s he most definitely saw this, but I wonder if he acquired the rights for it, or if he just copied it. Slashfilm wrote an article about this. Chris: Would have been cool if the storm trooper in the Sarlacc pit was a Clone Trooper, half devoured after decades, but still alive. Boba takes the Clone's helmet off to get access to his gear, looks into his eyes and finishes him off as a mercy kill. Some people have complained about Jango's helmet clearly being empty, well, actor Daniel Logan pointed out on twitter that you can actually see the shadow of the decapitated head in the movie flying away from the helmet. Joseph Scrimshaw from Force Center points out that the three main Tusken Raiders in chapter one are the young boy, the warrior, the leader, two roles Boba Fett has played in his life and critically a role he wants to have in the future. The leader sips the water, which is everything on this planet, it's life and the economy, it's a power for the leader to take or give. Does The Boba Fett Show Have A Boba Fett Problem?I absolutely love that Boba Fett isn't coming into his new role as crime boss just slaughtering everybody left and right, but I'm kind of perplexed as to why he was portrayed as being so kind-hearted in these post-"Return of the Jedi" flashbacks. Even Mando has to go from ruthless bounty hunter only interested in upgrading his armor to big-hearted adopted daddy to Baby Yoda. That's a significant arc. What is Boba Fett's arc going to be? He goes from guy who doesn't want to fight to ... guy who doesn't want to fight? The only thing I can see happening that gives Fett any kind of growth at all is a darker path than I expect to see from a Disney+ "Star Wars" show. It feels like the only way the character changes at all is if he gets more ruthless, not more kind. That's the Michael Corleone from "The Godfather" route or Walter White from "Breaking Bad" path. Would Disney go that far? I doubt it, but who knows? Welcome to your in-depth! Today, Jacob and Evan begin talking about the new Disney+ show: The Book of Boba Fett! Taking place shortly after the Mandalorian and revisiting moments before then, they follow Boba Fett as he tries to claim the position of Crimelord in Mos Espa, taking over after Bib Fortuna's death. In this episode, they discuss various horror themes in star wars and right in line with it, how exactly does a Sarlacc work? How does it digest? The answer is disturbing. Cass and Tommy are taking a quick detour from The Clone Wars because... It's. Time. For. Star Wars: VISIONS. We've been WAITING for the drop of Visions, a new anthology series showcasing the talents of a variety of Japanese animators as they create brand-new stories for the Star Wars universe. In this episode, we dive into Episode 1: The Duel, a unique and inspired look at a familiar Star Wars storyline - a Force user abandoning their Order and doing what needs to be done. We also talk Episode 2: Tatooine Rhapsody, which follows the galaxy's first pop-punk band! (Spoiler, we loved BOTH episodes and can't wait for more.) (Also - there's a bit of audio weirdness in this episode. Our apologies! We've gotten it corrected and it will be stellar for episode 4!) Am Ende waren es noch ein hobbyloser, faltiger Imperator, ein nach Kellerwand riechender Gouverneuer, ein nach Gouverneuer-Hinterteil riechender Admiral mit merkwürdig, konsistentem Haargel und einem schmollenden Elitesoldaten, mit dem niemand mehr "The Floor is Lava" spielen möchte.

Was, fragt ihr? Ganz einfach.

Bib Fortuna is back! Trent and Collins sit down to recap The Mandalorian Season 2.
Mandolorian Chapter 16: “The Rescue”Summary: We’re gathering up our Grogu rescue posse, including Boba, Fennec Shand, Bo-Katan, Koska Reeves and a not-particularly-reluctant Dr. Pershing. After the crew intercepts Pershing and commandeers his Imperial Lambda Shuttle, Boba and Koska trade a few blows on an unnamed refinery planet before establishing yet another hasty alliance. The plan: Mega-Mando Team Up! Mando gets Grogu, Cara gets Moff Gideon and Bo-Katan gets the Darksaber, while Boba uses Slave One as a decoy. Jumping out of hyperspace, Boba will give the appearance of a chase, with the rest of the crew looking to sneak aboard Moff Gideon’s Light Cruiser using Pershing’s stolen shuttle. Helder and Edward on Twitter: @heldermira @edwardodellIMPORTANT FOR FRIENDS OF THE SHOW:We’re planning a post-season recap show! We want to invite as many of you on as can reasonably be managed, so, rather than one, giant, impractical Zoom call, we plan to do sessions either one-on-one, or in small groups, then edit it together. IF you’re interested, hit us up either in the DMs, or snitch tag us at the show’s main account: @sopretentious2Notes:Chapter 16 delivers on the much anticipated season two finale with some nice, big payoffs in terms of action and pathos. Spoilers were dropping like crazy on social media on the day of the premiere, and if you aren’t aware that the Jedi who comes in to save the day is Luke Skywalker, well, all we can say is you’re listening to the wrong Mando-recap podcast. This is a superb way to cap off what has been an excellent season for Mando. Favreau, Filoni and Director Peyton Reed delivered in a way that was emotionally strong and poignant without going entirely over to cloying sentimentality. Kudos to the entire cast and especially the production staff. Most of the criticism seems to focus on the practical matter of Mark Hamill’s casting-via-CGI, which was wisely kept to a minimum. It didn’t maintain the suspension of disbelief for everyone:https://www.thewrap.com/the-mandalorian-that-cgi-character-luke-skywalker-was-really-weird/ Temuera Morrison’s Boba Fett makes this season finale an “all-helmet” event, though not before popping Bib Fortuna straight in the dome in the post-credit sequence:https://www.looper.com/298550/the-mandalorian-chapter-16-post-credits-explained/Interesting Tweets:@MingNa talking about The upcoming Book of Boba Fett:https://twitter.com/MingNa/status/1341063828130332672?s=20
The season finale is here! Travis, Alex, Dustin, and Ryan join Mando and the Star Wars Avengers on a mission to rescue Baby Yoda. Do they succeed? Why must the Darksaber be won in combat? This week Dave Maier joins us as we wrap up season 2 of The Mandalorian with a full break down of Chapter 16 - The Rescue. We dive deep into questions and theories like: Why didn't they leave the bridge to go look for Mando? Did any of us cry when a certain Jedi showed up? Was his likeness an uncanny valley situation or did it work? What will Mando do in Season 3? How did Bib Fortuna take over Jabba's Palace? All this and more, including Temeura Morrison's job security, the theory of Dark Baby Yoda and some of your emails in Maul's Bag. Oh and we GIVE AWAY THE DARK SABER! Stay tuned to the end of the show for that and thanks to all who entered. We will have another giveaway soon. Please check out Dave on his show Podcast without Bounds. Bib...well, Wil has been starting startups since before the internet was a thing. He’s got 20+ years of experience founding multiple companies, much of that experience he shares today. We talk about why it’s not smart to try to do too much at once, what building an internet business was like before your grandma knew what a startup was, and we humanize the inner emotional battle we each go through while working on our companies. Enjoy and check out his podcast, Startup Therapy!
The first show of 2019 arrives with all four of the crew present, delivering a packed show. Darren Mcaleese joins Stuart and Richard for the main interview this month, the larger than life character discusses a host of topics from events and the community to Trilogo Madines and modern with some wonderful tales in between. During Rebel Briefings we look at a host of topics and items that the team have been tagged in over the last few months but sadly couldn't have fitted into earlier shows before we discuss the Bib Fortuna blog on SWCA and Toploading bubble protectors. Newest Acquisitions is full of guests as Evan Hoyt Wasserstrom chats about his Huffy Speeder Bike, Andrew Norton drops by to tell us about his ROTJ T-Shirt he found at a toy fair and Steve Savory tells us how he has completed a MOC run in which the final piece he has been looking for for 3 years! Alongside this we look at a 12 back with 32 back sticker, a graded Luke X-Wing Pilot MOC, Canadian Colour and Shapes on Cassette, whilst looking at Carl Dennis's top work on Yavin. As well as all this the team finish with a look at the Rancor monster, Richard proves what a mad man he is as he states it's the worst of all the creatures and the Vintage Alliance drop by to blow us away with more information on the caged beast than we could have hoped for. Pete continues the Rancor loving by going further into other lines, in particular a Vintage Bootleg Soft Vinyl Model Kit is the pick of the bunch. On top of all this we have the usual quizzes, a Celebration update, as well as discussing bubbles that get damaged in transit and where the liability lies. All this plus much more on The Vintage Rebellion. Enjoy the show!!!
