Silvana and Tegan are joined by their good friend and fellow podcaster, Sophia from Where's Beverly, for Season 4, Episode 20, "Entity". This is Sophia's favorite episode! She "must preserve!" Silvana dares Tegan to write the next fan fiction. Sophia explains why this is the best episode of Stargate. Sophia and Tegan discuss the medical inaccuracies in this episode, despite their onsite medical advisor. What would Stargate have looked like had Samantha Carter's body died and brought her back in a different body or used the robot Carter? Where have we seen that before... Check out our instagram and other links on our linktree. Where's Beverly Instagram Previous episodes with Sophia: "It's Equality"
TW: Suicide/self-harm Silvana and Tegan watch Season 4, Episode 18, "The Light". Once again, there is a strong need for a therapist on base, but there is not one! There's not even a trigger warning for this episode... SG-1 is challenged by a planet that has a narcotic effect on anyone that visits it. They meet a teenager named Loren and rescue him from this planet - to never be seen again. Silvana asks the most important question of this episode: Where are they defecating? is Teal'c an honorary Jehovah's Witness? Was there a Little Finger gao'uld equivalent? Check out our website, socials, and tier rankings on our Linktree.
The Fries discuss Stargate SG-1 Season 4 Episode 7, "Watergate," and why it just doesn't.... hold water. The Fries will be at Shore Leave 44 in Lancaster, PA from July 26-28! Come say hi to us! And, you know, I guess you should stop by Amanda Tapping and Teryl Rothery's tables too. Want to watch us podcast live? Silvana and Tegan are joined by guest star, Eric, for Season 4, Episode 17 "Absolute Power". In this episode, the Harsesis Child arrives at the SG-C to make Daniel fall asleep and dream of an alternative reality. The three discuss the child actor chosen for the Harcesis Child. Tegan finds it weird that this is back to back with "2010", since neither results in much change in the overall storyline. Will absolute power corrupt Daniel Jackson? Absolutely. Is breakfast a conspiracy? Join the discussion on our socials.

It's an acting master class from Michael Shanks (and Teryl Rothery) as Daniel Jackson gets a dozen other consciousnesses downloaded into his brain in Lifeboat. Also, the actor who plays Pharrin does an absolutely incredible job. Would it have worked if all the members of SG1 had also had passengers downloaded into their brains? As much as we do love this episode, SG1 is always at its best when it's The Team vs. The Problem. This episode is definitely one that we would have liked a better wrap-up for. Tegan and Silvana are joined by their friend Jade for a very special bonus episode. Are there no nurses in Stargate? What's the difference between a nurse and nurse practitioner? Jade will tell us! Check out "Witches, Midwives, and Nurses" for more information about the Catholic Church, witchcraft, and the early years of medical licensing. Jade and Tegan share some of their experiences and impressions about sexism in the medical profession. Why is the Broca Divide one of the worst episodes for medical professionals? What should Janet Fraiser be doing if the Stargate program was real?

Vancouver actress Teryl Rothery brings deep-seated humanity to every role she takes on, whether she's playing a kind and capable military doctor (Stargate SG-1) or the sexy actress in a Northern California town who sets her sights on the town doctor (Virgin River). Teryl's lengthy filmography includes memorable roles in dramas (including Chesapeake Shores and The Good Doctor), Christmas movies, cartoons, superhero shows (like Arrow), and sci-fi and fantasy (including Travelers and The Haunting of Bly Manor and – of course – Stargate SG-1). In this revealing conversation, Teryl pulls the curtain back on where she comes from and what propels her forward, and reflects on the life and death of Dr. Janet Fraiser on Stargate SG-1, how she ended up in a Babylon 5 wedding, and Virgin River's Muriel. Also: COVID-19 coping strategies, a rousing round of Favourite Things, and a burning question from another Stargate doctor: Paul McGillion (Stargate Atlantis' Dr. Carson Beckett). What we cover: “A fall doesn't have to be perceived as a fall. It can be a trip. Or a stumble." – Teryl Rothery This week’s Guest Titan is flipping amazing. I first met Teryl Rothery, about 18 years ago – I’ll tell you how I know it was a long time ago – I was an ad copywriter at an agency here in Vancouver, and I’d written some radio scripts for a national telco. And the product we were advertising was – wait for it – the Yellow Pages. Like, the hard copy, yellow pages phone books. One of the voice actors, we hired for the scripts was Teryl Rothery. That’s how long ago I met Teryl – we were still in the days of advertising the arrival of phone books at our doorsteps, letting people know that they were on their way. And I am going to post that radio spot in the show notes – because why not?! Go to MJDionne.com, click on the podcaster tab, and you’ll see Teryl’s show notes banner there. Easy! In between Seasons One and Two, I took the summer off from recording Tea with a Titan episodes. And it’s a good feeling to know you miss something, because I missed it. And I am so happy to be back. But one of the things I’m committed to doing is shortening my introductions, so that we can get right to the meat – or the tofu – of the episode. Which in today’s case, is my chat with Teryl. In a nutshell, to set the stage, Teryl played the role of Dr Janet Frasier for 7 seasons of Stargate SG-1. She was Grace Sherman alongside Andie MacDowell for 3 seasons of Cedar Cove, and truth told, her filmography on Wikipedia is – and I tell her this in our conversation – exhausting: X-Files, The Outer Limits, Super Natural, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules, Best in Show with Christopher Guest, Arrow, and, she’s also part of ABC’s new medical drama, The Good Doctor – which premiers on September 25th, 2017. Which very well could be yesterday, if you’re listening to this on the day we post. Teryl is instantly likeable, but more than that, she’s just got a wisdom to her that I’ve always admired. Acting is a profession that has a built-in level of “the unknown” to it – and no matter the field or path we each pursue, wrapping our heads around being okay with uncertainty is a skill that would do us all a fair bit of good. The reason I started this series, is so that my two daughters, Majella (who we call JouJou) and Burgess (who we call Birdie) will have an inventory of inspiring conversations with paradigm-busters to draw upon for those times in their lives when they feel stuck. Each conversations give me the gift of at least one perspective shift – a new way of looking at the situation. And I want to thank Teryl for reminding me that a “fall” doesn’t have to be perceived as a “fall”. We can perceive it as a trip, or a stumble. How liberating is that?! MJDionne.com

Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) investigate a string of suicides committed by people with little in common other than the identical, grisly method of death – slow, self-administered disembowelment. All of the victims were members of a Catholic church and had recently given confession, leading the brothers to suspect the priest (guest star Stephen Daniel Curtis) is somehow involved. Meanwhile, when Crowley (Mark Sheppard) captures Olivette (guest star Teryl Rothery), the leader of the Grand Coven, Rowena (guest star Ruth Connell) pleads her case to be allowed to practice magic freely again. John Showalter directed this episode written by Brad Buckner & Eugenie Ross-Leming (#1016).

The Starling Tribune: An Unofficial Arrow TV Show Fan Podcast
Starling Tribune - Season 2 Edition – Broken Dolls The Official Arrow Podcast of the Gonna Geek Network In this edition of the Starling Tribune the reporters Wing, Jay and Stargate Pioneer discuss the third season of season two titled “Broken Dolls.” The reporters mention how aptly named the episode is because several major female characters are “broken” including one who we do not even know who she is yet! And the Dollmaker is so evil he shakes all three reporters to the core. Reporter SP doesn't know who The Black Canary is (still) and it's up to Jay and Wing to give him the knowledge that he is sorely lacking, ESPECIALLY since he hasn't even starting reading the episode credits yet. While Jay and Wing do have background comic knowledge of The Black Canary and the comic references to the newly introduced ship's name Amazo, none of the reporters have background knowledge of Sin but the reporters have some interesting theories to share. There's even a brief diversion into Aquaman. Reporter SP also is stuck on dead bodies apparently now in both the DC and Marvel Comic Universes thanks to Captain America: The Winter Soldier and the Arrow pilot. Roy continues to be extremely reckless and is in sore need of training….as is Detective Lance apparently Mr. Starsky and Hutch. The Detective might need to learn police tactics in the 21st century but apparently everyone must listen to his names since “Arrow” catches on like wildfire. Oliver might have a new vigilante name but it doesn't help him run his company any better and it apparently doesn't help him sleep at home anymore either since the Queen Mansion seems to be a set of the past. Reporter SP gives a big shoutout to Stargate SG-1 alum Teryl Rothery who comes into Starling City as Moira's attorney and Reporters Jay and Wing geek out about the big reveal that Ra's al Ghul will be involved in the Arrow TV universe. The trio of reporters break down their weekly Bat Checklist and Reporter Jay gives a huge shoutout to listener Adam.
