Susan Walsh was a freelance journalist and writer who mysteriously disappeared on July 16, 1996, outside her home in Nutley, New Jersey. She had been investigating topics such as the Russian mafia and New York City's underground vampire community, which led to speculation about her disappearance. Suasan had a complex life—she worked as an exotic dancer to support herself while pursuing a degree in English at New York University. She had also struggled with substance abuse, though she had maintained 11 years of sobrietybefore her disappearance. To this day Susan's case remains unsolved, and theories range from foul play to voluntary disappearance. The Nutley Police Department continues to investigate Susan's case and anyone with information is urged to contact them at 973-284-4940 or the New Jersey State Police Missing Persons Unit at 800-709-7090. It doesn't matter how old your children get, whenever they go on a trip you're always dreading that phone call…The one that often comes in the early hours of the morning…The one with the solemn voice at the end of the line. The Nutley family of the Welsh village of Caerwent, received one such call in October 2004. James, who at 25 was the eldest son, had failed to return to his hotel after the first night of a golfing trip. His mother Catherine, wasting no time, immediately drove the hundred odd miles to the seaside town of Tenby, where the tournament was taking place. It's a drive she and her husband Jeff make twice a year to this day, a pilgrimage they have no intention of stopping, until they find out the truth about what happened to James that night… For more information on every episode from all five series visit https://themissingpodcast.org New episodes every Monday. If you have ever dined at one of Chef Jamie Knott's restaurants, you know the food, the cocktails, and the vibes are going to be second to none. What you may not realize is the winding path he took to get here. Born in Baltimore and raised in Nutley, Jamie had some things on his mind other than school and, in his words "when I wasn't breaking windows, I was breaking balls." At the suggestion of his father, he decided to attend culinary school and began a successful career working at some major restaurants throughout New York City. Over time his personal life started to catch up to him and after a few self-inflicted wounds he was forced to reset and reevaluate. Now he is the owner of 5 restaurants in New Jersey including the Saddle River Inn, Saddle River Cafe, Cellar 335, Madame, and soon to be open Kinjo in Newark. Personally this was one of my favorite episodes I've recorded. @knott.jamie@kinjo_nj@saddleriverinn@saddlerivercafe@cellar335@madamejerseycityThank you to our sponsors:Albert & Whitney CPAs: awcpasllc.comShanghai Jazz: shanghaijazz.comMayo Performing Arts Center: mayoarts.org/events-calendarNJspots: NJspots.comMurphy, Schiller, Wilkes: murphyllp.comContact the show: mike@greetingsfromthegardenstate.comSupport the show

Napoli are off to a flying start in the 2022/23 Serie A season after scoring 9 goals in 2 matches. Victor Osimhen gets his 2nd of the season as well. This begs the question: is this club headed in the right direction? Did ADL win back some of the approval of the tifosi partenopei? July 16, 1996. Nutley, New Jersey. 36-year old Susan Walsh leaves her son in the care of her estranged husband and says she needs to step out to make some phone calls, but she never returns to her apartment and is not heard from again. At the time, Susan had been working as a freelance journalist and an exotic dancer, but was also struggling with substance abuse and mental health issues. The investigation into Susan's disappearance explores a number of different angles – including Russian mobsters, underground vampire clubs, and an obsessive stalker – and even looks into the possibility that she ran away voluntarily, but there are no conclusive answers. On this week's episode of “The Trail Went Cold”, we cover a perplexing missing persons case which has remained unsolved for the past 25 years.
