"No, I know; you did send me back to the future. But I'm back - I'm back from the future." This episode we return to a set of films that we hold dear, the Back to the Future Trilogy. Once again we find ourselves in Hill Valley in a multitude of time periods with good old Marty and Doc. The first instalment was a very high score from both of us and you can find that in the back catalogue under episode 88. Will this film be as beloved as the first in our opinions or should it be ditched in a back alley like Jennifer was? Put down Wild Gunman, grab a Pepsi Perfect and find out. As always, thank you for listening. Please share with anyone who is a fan of these films and the 80's in general. You can get in touch with us on the links below. Cheersy! Photo-realism in video games is commonplace now, but for decades, storage and technology limitations meant blocky figures were the best we could get. But as the tech evolved, the use of actual video started to enhance the game experience. In this Backtrack, we look back at the rise and legacy of FMV: full-motion video games! Light gun games are one of Matt's favorite generes to play! The passion started in the arcade of course, but as time went on, these games became better and better to play at home on your console and a good old CRT of course. Then we get into a new segment called evolution of a franchise and we chose Prince of Persia to kick things off! Enjoy! #arcade #retrogaming #retrogames #playstation #xbox #nintendo #sega Brief history of light gun games according to an AI! FUN!: Light gun games, also known as shooting games or target shooting games, have been around for several decades and have evolved greatly over time. Here is a brief history of light gun games: 1930s: The first light gun game was created by Sega in the 1930s. It was called "Periscope" and was an electromechanical game where players fired a gun at moving targets. 1960s: The first video-based light gun game was created in the 1960s. It was called "Duck Hunt" and was a simple game where players shot ducks on a screen using a light gun. 1970s: In the 1970s, light gun games became more popular with the release of games like "Wild Gunman" and "Shootout". These games used a CRT monitor and a light gun to simulate shooting targets. 1980s: In the 1980s, light gun games continued to evolve with the introduction of games like "Operation Wolf" and "Laser Ghost". These games used more advanced technology, such as digitized graphics and sound, to create more realistic gameplay. 1990s: The 1990s saw the release of popular light gun games like "Time Crisis" and "House of the Dead". These games used 3D graphics and were often played in arcade cabinets with mounted light guns. 2000s: In the 2000s, light gun games became more commonly played on home consoles like the PlayStation 2 and Xbox. Games like "Time Crisis 3" and "Virtua Cop: Elite Edition" were popular among console gamers. 2010s: The popularity of light gun games continued to decline in the 2010s, with fewer new games being released. However, some popular franchises like "House of the Dead" and "Time Crisis" continued to release new titles. Overall, light gun games have been a staple of video game history, offering players a unique and exciting gameplay experience. While their popularity has declined in recent years, they remain an important part of gaming history and continue to be enjoyed by many players today. Today I thought would be a short show. I talked a little about Wild Gunman video game and the 1974 game it was based on. I mentioned this video - but this video show better how the 74 game really was. I also went over a few notes before doing a deep dive on full movie cast list on IMDB. Turns out this this my longest episode of the year! Caffeine is a wonderful drug.
What is February 1st if not the afternoon of Thanksgiving persevering, am I right? If you couldn't follow the thread on that incredibly niche joke, today we're hosting a dog show! Spend your Tuesday the way suburban families spend their post-Macy's parade afternoon as Debate This! asks, who is the goodest boi in gaming? Take a nostalgic trip back in time as Matt brings up video games' first bully. Andrew brings a back-flipping dog who kills gods to the party. To answer your question, yes he's talking about Final Fantasy. Also, the sentience of Kyle's dog makes us all a little uncomfortable. More arcade ports for SG-1000? Say it ain't so! These titles aren't especially well known in the U.S., since they've never seen a proper console release here (outside of maybe some collection that doesn't come immediately to mind), but both merit a close look. Taito's Chack'n Pop may not impress quite as much on the technical front as the more familiar Famicom version, but it features better level design... albeit with an absolutely unforgiving difficulty level. Sega's own Bank Panic plays like a clever attempt to capture the spirit of Nintendo's Wild Gunman without the use of a light gun, and the results end up being quite a bit more successful than you might expect. Production note: SG-1000 footage in this episode was captured from a combination of Sega SG-1000 II with (with Card Catcher; RGB amp mod by @iFixRetro ) and @Analogue Mega Sg with card adapter module and DAC. Video upscaled to 720 with @Retro Tink 5X.

This week Earl and Jurek practice their sharpshooting skills as they play 2 light gun games on the NES! First up is everybody's favorite zapper game: Duck Hunt! This game is an absolute classic! Fun on all accounts! The only thing it lacks is some engaging music, but that's easy to look past. What's not easy to look past is that frickin' dog laughing at you all the time! Then the guys pop in Wild Gunman and have some old west style duels! This game is not quite as fun as Duck Hunt, but the guys discover Gang mode is where it's at! Come have a drink with us! Cheers!
