July 28, 2026Today's Reading: Acts 20:27-38 or Romans 8:12-17Daily Lectionary: 1 Samuel 13:1-18; Acts 23:12-35“For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, ‘Abba! Father!'” (Romans 8:15)In the Name + of Jesus. Amen. Were your ancestors slaves? Believe it or not, everyone should say yes. It doesn't matter who your parents are, or your family lineage, or where your ancestors came from. All people, since the Fall into sin, were born as slaves of sin. Just as a child born to slaves on a plantation was also a slave, so a child born to sinners is also a slave to sin. And that means everyone except Jesus. You included.A slave does the will of his master. In the case of sin, the slave continues to sin. Willfully, intentionally, or simply because he can't help himself, the slave to sin feeds his sinful nature and sets his mind on the things of the flesh. That includes pornography, revenge, sinful pride instead of humble helping of others, rebellion against proper authorities, and self-righteousness. One cannot set his mind on doing such things and live before God. He is a slave, chained to his sin, and gladly serving it.Jesus, however, came to set slaves of sin free. To do this, He first had to break the chains of sins. He had to live as the substitute in the place of sinners, and yet give up this perfect life to suffer the punishment for all sin. Christ Jesus has taken your place in death, which your sins deserved, and now is risen from the dead and proclaims you right with God. This is not because of how deserving you are, but simply out of God's great mercy and love to redeem sinners, a mercy rooted in Jesus. To set slaves free from sins, Jesus also sent the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit brings Christ's righteousness to us and creates faith in the heart that receives this righteousness. From faith in Christ, the Holy Spirit also leads and compels believers to what the Lutheran Confessions call “the new obedience.” Yes, we are to do good works. The phrase “good works” is not inherently bad. We just realize that good works are the fruits of faith, not the cause of faith. The Holy Spirit given to us allows us to set our minds on the things of the Spirit, which includes all of faith and a godly life. Therefore, we are adopted by God as His dear children, whom we cry out to in our prayers. What slave to sin can do this? But you are not a slave to sin. Therefore, set your mind on the things of the Spirit. In the Name + of Jesus. Amen.Though He giveth or He taketh, God His children ne'er forsaketh; His the loving purpose solely To preserve them pure and holy. (LSB 725:4)Rev. Robert Mayes, pastor at Immanuel Lutheran Church and Zion St. John Lutheran Church, Beemer and Wisner, NE.
The Texas Water Development Board doesn't have enough information about data center demand to include it in our resource projections, and they seem okay with that. A new college admissions test that emphasizes ideology over academics is approved for Texas' public universities. South Texas appears primed for a seismic shift away from Trump and the GOP, while Democratic nominee Bobby Pulido's chances to unseat his Republican opponent appear strong. The Katherine Massey Book Club @ The C.O.W.S. hosts the GRAND FINALE (Session 12) on lyin' Michelle Alexander's *The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness*. Alexander has a living White mother and a deceased Black father. Despite 15 years of institutional celebration for her work, Gus T. anticipated this title being one of the "5 Worst Books Ever." History shows that racists generally do not promote literature that provides an accurate understanding of the System of White Supremacy. This week, we drop the final Mario Elie "Kiss of Death" three-pointer on this text, permanently closing the casket on a 15-year academic hustle. We open the final chapter, *Obama: The Promise and the Peril*, and interrogate the absolute peak of her biographical dishonesty where she explicitly labels Affirmative Action a "racial bribe" that Black people must surrender to play academic "games of chicken" with their own survival. We back up our 12-week forensic media audit by deploying a devastating 14-minute custom audio track from our own 2010 CREE archive and 2016 public media slips. We let the Pusha T, Kendrick Lamar, Ray Charles, and Neely Fuller Jr. audio do the talking because Michelle Alexander has officially fouled out of the game! THE 15-POINT FORENSIC AUDIT SUMMARY: 1. The Manufactured "Underdog" Narrative: Claims she launched to half-empty rooms to conceal the massive institutional "push" that put her on C-SPAN, NPR, and Democracy Now within 5 months of publication. 2. Systemic Deception by Omission: Completely erases COINTELPRO, Jon Burge's torture ring, Attica, and the Black Panthers to bury earlier, more accurate structural work on the Prison-Industrial Complex. 3. Hidden Biographical Motivation: Willfully conceals her multi-ethnic background to hide her personal family defenses under the guise of objective scholarship. 4. Centering White Trauma: Explicitly argues that White women who chose to have interracial relationships under Jim Crow were primary, injured victims of a racial caste system. 5. The Fraudulent "Bribe" Thesis: Claims White people must be "bribed" to practice Racism, belied by a System of White Supremacy where whiteness automatically requires total domination. 6. Reckless Statistical Manipulation: Arbitrarily changes her state prison violent offender statistic from 33% to 52% between editions with zero data reconciliation or explanation. 7. Specious Claims as Fact: Drops massive, sweeping assertions straight onto the print page with absolutely zero footnotes or supporting empirical documentation. 8. The 1980s Progress Myth: Asserts that by the 1980s, the vast majority of White people opposed the practice of Racism—a completely ahistorical claim unsupported by any evidence. 9. Pathologizing Defense Mechanisms: Labels Affirmative Action a "racial bribe" for Black people, telling the victims of state terror to disarm while the system keeps its weapons. 10. Erasing the Real Beneficiaries: Refuses to inform readers of macro-data showing that White women have historically benefited most from Affirmative Action pipelines. 11. The "Accidental" Absolution: Labors mightily to frame the White power structure as ignorant, well-meaning, and "accidentally" racist to shield calculated state intent from exposure. 12. Coddling Whites, Targeting Black Institutions: Sweeps away structural White guilt while using print space to aggressively scold the CBC, the NAACP, and Bill Cosby. 13. Minstrel Linguistic Framing: Selectively quotes Black interviewees in broken, stereotypical English to frame them as inarticulate and implicitly deserving of incarceration. 14. Double-Dipping the Carceral Ledger: Hides that her husband Carter Stewart profited as a federal prosecutor caging Black bodies, while she profited off the fake literary outrage industry. 15. White-Identified Pronoun Usage: Deploys a slippery use of "we," "us," and "our" to identify with White spaces and lump the victims of Racism in as equally culpable for the system. The Israelites' journey from Egypt to the Promised Land serves as a powerful blueprint for our spiritual journey today. Before reaching their destination, Israel tested God ten times through complaints and lack of faith, culminating in their failure to enter the Promised Land at Kadesh-Barnea due to fear of the giants. The Red Sea crossing demonstrates that God's timing and methods are perfect, even when we feel trapped with no way forward. When the Israelites faced Pharaoh's army with the sea before them, God parted the waters not just for escape, but for their spiritual baptism and growth. Faith doesn't deny reality but trusts God's promises despite obstacles. Just as Israel sang the song of Moses after their victory, we too can experience deliverance when we trust God through our own Red Sea moments.
Even though the Lord Jesus Christ made it abundantly clear that he was the Son of God, many are still willfully ignorant of that truth and remain in their sins.

It may hurt but it's true! There are millions of ignorant people in this world who are ignorant of free will. I mean willfully ignorant people are the ones who choose to stay ignorant when there's millions of resources to learn and educate yourself. Instead of being educated people live a life of parroting and regurgitating what they've heard even when it's untrue! That mindset keeps people mentally enslaved. If you choose to remain ignorant you can't grow, won't grow, and you'll be easily fooled into believing a lie! Not only that, willfully ignorant people are also immature and because of it will make choices and decisions against their best interest. Change starts with you, the mindset is everything!Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/relationships-and-relatable-life-chronicles--4126439/support.

Delphi Case Twist: Did Prosecutors “Willfully Ignore” Evidence That Could Clear Richard Allen? What happens when investigators get so locked into a theory that they ignore everything else? The case against Richard Allen in the Delphi murders might be the perfect example of investigative tunnel vision gone horribly wrong. His defense claims key evidence that could point to other suspects was withheld—intentionally or otherwise. Is this incompetence, a small-town prosecutor playing by his own rules, or something more insidious? FBI behavioral expert Robin Dreeke joins Tony Brueski to break down the psychology behind bias in investigations, the power of external pressures, and the red flags surrounding the prosecution's handling of this case. With crucial evidence conveniently “misplaced” and shifting stories from those in charge, it's hard not to wonder: Is this just a case of bad policing, or has justice been deliberately derailed? And what about the newly released full-length bridge guy video? Does it actually reveal anything new, or is it just more smoke and mirrors? If the suspect was a complete stranger, why did the victims seem to comply instead of running? Could they have recognized their killer? With so many pieces missing, one question lingers: If Richard Allen isn't the guy, why does the prosecution seem so afraid of looking anywhere else? #TrueCrime #DelphiMurders #RichardAllen #HiddenKillers #CriminalInvestigation #BehavioralAnalysis #JusticeOrInjustice Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? Here's the AI generated discussion of this post. I discovered a lot about AI in listening to this discussion. Reflecting back on this article, I realize at least what we are currently seeing in AI is often Stupid. They assemble words, based on tokens, on something of which they know nothing about. And it doesn't recognize it is Stupid. And we sometimes miss this, the responses we get "sound smart," but they are actually Stupid, stumbling on truth accidentally. There is so much wrong in this discussion, but it actually vividly illustrates much of what I am trying to discuss in this article. The one redeeming thing is, at least for the present, these tools have no reasoning capability. So it cannot be Willfully Ignorant. If only for the irony and subtle comedy, enjoy this discussion. Sexual assault fits this pattern. Thus, across the disparate populations studied, researchers consistently have found that approximately one-half of all sexual assaults are committed by men who have been drinking alcohol. Depending on the sample studied and the measures used, the estimates for alcohol use among perpetrators have ranged from 34 to 74 percent (Abbey et al. 1994; Crowell and Burgess 1996). Similarly, approximately one-half of all sexual assault victims report that they were drinking alcohol at the time of the assault, with estimates ranging from 30 to 79 percent (Abbey et al. 1994; Crowell and Burgess 1996). It is important to emphasize, however, that although a woman's alcohol consumption may place her at increased risk of sexual assault, she is in no way responsible for the assault. The perpetrators are legally and morally responsible for their behavior.https://mol.im/a/14327087Florida principal arrested after more than 100 kids are found drinking at her homehttps://mol.im/a/14326909Revealed: Beloved rock climber's tragic final post before she fell off steep Nevada cliff to her deathhttps://mol.im/a/14215165The dangerous new trend that's claiming the lives of youngsters: 'It's like Russian roulette'https://mol.im/a/14326985Tragedy as Ohio woman freezes to death while taking her dog outsidehttps://mol.im/a/14294031Former Biggest Loser trainer Jillian Michaels SLAMS Ozempic: 'Try anything else'https://mol.im/a/14318535NASA ends DEI programs that 'wasted taxpayers dollars and resulted in shameful discrimination'https://mol.im/a/14312163Nuclear fusion breakthrough: China's 'artificial sun' reactor sets a new world record by generating a steady loop of plasma for 1,066 seconds - taking the world closer towards limitless clean energyCredit to:https://unsplash.com/@grianghraf for cuffs

The focus of their discussion is the tragic case of a young girl placed in harm's way by the very individuals supposed to protect her, leading to fatal consequences. The case serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by individuals with a history of sexual offenses and the critical gaps within our legal framework that allow such predators to evade detection. The episode delves into the perplexing decision-making process of the girl's guardians, who, driven by a misguided sense of redemption, welcomed a known danger into their lives. Brueski and Coffindaffer explore the complex motives behind this decision, questioning whether it was a simple case of naive faith in rehabilitation or if darker, more self-serving interests were at play. The narrative unfolds to reveal a scenario where good intentions are tragically misaligned with the safety and well-being of vulnerable children. Coffindaffer provides expert insight into the criminal mind, emphasizing the recurring nature of sexual offenders' behaviors and the inadequacies of a system that allows for significant loopholes. One such loophole, a critical point of discussion, is the failure of the sex offender registry to capture individuals who have committed sexual offenses but have not been convicted of the specific acts that would ensure their inclusion on the registry. This gap in the law not only facilitates the reintegration of predators into unsuspecting communities but also emboldens them with a sense of impunity. Further, the episode critiques the judicial system's propensity for plea bargaining, which often results in reduced charges and sentences for serious crimes. This practice is highlighted as a fundamental flaw that undermines the protection of the public, especially children, from sexual predators. Coffindaffer argues for a reevaluation of the judicial process, advocating for stringent, non-negotiable penalties for sexual offenses to prevent recidivism and ensure community safety. "Hidden Killers" does not shy away from the uncomfortable truths of our criminal justice system, pushing for accountability at all levels, from the judiciary to the guardians of at-risk children. The episode calls for a systemic overhaul, emphasizing the need for reforms that prioritize the safety of the most vulnerable over the rehabilitation of those who have demonstrated a capacity for heinous acts. Through this thought-provoking discussion, Brueski and Coffindaffer not only shed light on a singular tragedy but also challenge listeners to reconsider the balance between forgiveness and safety in the context of sexual offenses. A scathing special counsel report released laid out in detail how President Biden's mishandled classified materials. The report includes photographs of documents, showing them kept under his TV in his Delaware home and classified documents about Afghanistan barely stored. However, the special counsel concluded the evidence does not establish Mr. Biden's guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, therefore prosecution would be unwarranted. Also, Colorado's 2024 presidential ballot will likely include Trump after the Supreme Court heard oral arguments in the case. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
The special council looking into some classified and top-secret documents found in President Biden's possession will not be filing charges in the case. Robert Hur's report on the matter came out yesterday. While he clears the president on one hand, with the other, he indicates the president is forgetful. In not charging President Biden, Hur reasoned it was because he would present to a jury as an elderly man “with a poor memory.” That may hurt in an election year where age is becoming an issue. Michael Shure will be along to talk politics. We will lighten things up with mega-9ers fan and Bay Área dude, Kevin Pollak. Plus fun with Friday Fabulous Florida and the Culture Blaster, Michael Snyder.
Scot Bertram discusses news and headlines
The Justice Department declined to prosecute President Biden for his handling of classified Obama-era documents found in his former office and at home. In a 345-page report, special counsel Robert Hur wrote, "We conclude that no criminal charges are warranted in this matter." Geoff Bennett discussed more with Oona Hathaway, a Yale Law School professor and former special counsel at the Pentagon. PBS NewsHour is supported by - https://www.pbs.org/newshour/about/funders
In Judaism, there is an expression called the dope toe vote, which means good personal characteristic traits. And that's what each of us are called to demonstrate. And those good personal characteristic traits are the traits that God Himself has. We are called to be like him to be imitators of the living God. And when we do that we are truly demonstrating faithfulness. Sadie has been waiting for this conversation since she was 18 years old and was given a copy of Dr. Alicia Britt Chole's "Anonymous" — a book which Sadie says is the BEST book on social media. Alicia is a wife, mother, author, and former atheist who had an "unbelievable encounter with God" when she attended her first church service with a friend and says her beginning in Christ came from Him pursuing and finding her. Alicia encourages any singles out there to look for a man much like her own husband who has the fruit of the Spirit in his life, plus why we should value the "unseen" people in our lives just as much as others — don't mistake "unseen" for "unimportant!" Sadie and Alicia discuss what it means to "practice the presence of God" and how the truth that God is near to us is worth repeating to ourselves and others throughout our day. God IS near — He's not behind a curtain, He's not paused somewhere waiting for a certain thing, and He loves us before we "do" anything for Him! Plus, how differently would we live out our faith if we regularly confronted the weight of our sin and how we WILLFULLY sin against the Lord? And why we ALL need a mentor — but if you can find someone you can regularly meet with, that's an incredible blessing, so go after it! https://nativedeo.com/whoa — Get 20% OFF your first order with code WHOA! https://give.cru.org/whoa or text WHOA to 71326 — Get a free copy of Sadie's book "Live on Purpose" with your gift! Jase wishes people believed that God is the one who makes the seeds grow — not "Mother Nature" — and Phil points out that God is also the one who can prevent things from growing. Zach says people who don't believe are willfully ignorant. Jase highlights how different Jesus was than the messiah the Jews expected — they were awaiting a messiah who would conquer Rome and bring an end to wars, but Jesus ate with tax collectors, healed people, raised people from the dead, and challenged the Pharisees. Zach says our problems in the world do not need a political fix. Jase warns us all to remain open-minded and to stay away from any traditions or groups of people who don't focus on Jesus and his grace. And Phil and Jase compete over who had the lowest grades. https://www.40daysforlife.com — Get your free quarterly magazine, podcast, and essential updates from 40 Days for Life. https://faithfulcounseling.com/unashamed — Get 10% off your first month! - Learn more about your ad choices.
