High School is hard, so hard … in fact, it’s so hard that Lesbian couples persuade a Texas high school to get rid of homecoming kings and queens, and replace them with gender neutral names.  Ever wondered where your state ranks on the “sex-crazed” scale?  Well, thanks to Four Loko, you can find out … and according to the results, size doesn’t matter. “Archer” voice actor H. Start your weekend right with Nick Vicious and Rob Rotten, who are the Dudes From Dallas … giving you all the news and funny you need to get your weekend going. We start with a collective nerdgasm, as more details of the Patrick Stewart-led new Captain Picard series for CBS All Access. #MeToo has hammered CBS hard as of late, and Les Moonves resigned from his leadership role within the company … and now the hidden enemies from the eyeball network are making their voices heard.  A producer from the hit show “Designing Women” comes forward to recount what Moonves did to her back when she was working on the show. Moonves’ wife, Julie Chen, who is the host of Big Brother and now a former co-host of The Talk, is standing with her man and stating it publicly on the air by saying something she’s never said in her career. President Trump is in the news, as always, but we’re not going to beat you over the head with all the heavy stuff … however, he’s making millions of dollars a year while in office … but not from a salary, but from his resorts and golf courses. Nike boycotts have backfired in epic ways, as the company’s stock continues to climb. Elon Musk is still a douchebag, and now he’s under federal scrutiny and it may cost him his government contracts.  He’s proof that the government has not moved on from smoking weed, as Musk did on Joe Rogan’s podcast. Would you want to bring people back from the dead?  New research is yielding results that could very well “reboot” the brain in brain dead patients.  Where’s the line to playing God? The Dudes think that if you’re going to have something like that, we want it in an Umbrella Corporation vile. Rob Rotten makes a push for Glenn Beck to become Colonel Sanders … he certainly looks the part. A Wisconsin university is under pressure to change its official ice cream, because it’s not inclusive enough for students.  You may think one thing, but when you get the details, you may change your mind. It’s Humpday, and the Dudes are back with more goodness for your ears. Willie Nelson has pissed off conservatives in Texas, but not for what you would think.  He has decided to play a show for Senate candidate Robert Francis O’Rourke. Rob Rotten is not a fan of the candidate, but could care less about who Willie performs for.  The Senate race in Texas is going to be a dogfight between O’Rourke and Ted Cruz. Revisionist history is becoming a problem in Texas, with people wanting to remove Hillary Clinton and Helen Keller from Social Studies classes, and the big issue is people wanting to change how the defenders of the Alamo are viewed by history.  Texas History teaches that the people who defended the Alamo are heroes of Texas, as their struggle rallied the troops to win the war for independence. However, people want that changed, insisting they were anything but heroic. The problem is, Texas History is different from other history courses. Nick Vicious shocks everyone by actually agreeing with Texas Governor Greg Abbott on an issue.  It’s not an issue you would expect, but it’s an issue that we can all find to be important to our everyday lives. FEMA is testing a new Presidential Alert System, and the Dudes break down what it is, how it’s supposed to work and attempt to alleviate any concerns that Trump will be using it to blast fake news. It’s Friday, and the Dudes have some very important lessons for you heading into the weekend. One event we all will have to attend at some point in our lives is a funeral.  It sucks, but it’s how life is.  It has come to our attention that people don’t know how to behave themselves at funerals anymore.  It’s almost like Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson and Will Ferrell ruined funeral etiquette in the movie Wedding Crashers.  Bill Clinton eye f-cks Ariana Grande while a pastor feels her up at Aretha Franklin’s funeral, while Meghan McCain spews Trump hatred at her father’s funeral and Trump people complain about their seats. To show what we as humans should be like, the Dudes tell the story about Caleb Hammond, an 11-year-old racing fan who was overwhelmed by response to request for stickers to cover his casket.  Caleb has been fighting B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia for two years, and he and his family have decided it’s time to stop treatments.  But Caleb had a wish, and that was to have his casket covered with stickers from race teams.  Various drivers and teams from NASCAR answered the call and shipped far more than his family could handle.  Nick Vicious tells a story involving weed and Arizona police.  Did he go to jail?  Listen to find out. It’s Humpday with the Dudes From Dallas … and in that spirit, we’re going to be talking a lot about humping.  Sadly, it’s not the good kind … But don’t let that discourage you, because you’re gonna like what we say about the aforementioned humping.  It’s a bad week for religion, Uganda police arrested an American man, who claimed to be in the country doing missionary work, after reviewing a video that showed him striking out at hotel workers and using racial slurs.  He blames an illness, but could it be more?  We’ve all heard and read about the Pennsylvania Catholic Priests and the situation there.  However, there are some details that you may not be aware of, details that involve a “Bat-signal” of sorts.  Pennsylvania’s two-year investigation into sexual abuse within the Roman Catholic church revealed myriad disturbing details of abuse by hundreds of priests going back several decades.  Among the more horrific examples was a “ring of predatory priests” in Pittsburgh who shared victims among themselves, produced child pornography within rectories and parishes, and marked their victims as potential targets for other clergy by giving them gold crosses to wear.  If that wasn’t enough, the Catholic church has now become a hotspot of the #MeToo movement.  Several Nuns have spoken out to the Associated Press and revealed they too have been the victims of sexual abuse at the hands of priests.  The sisters are going public in part because of years of inaction by church leaders.  Sexual abuse, abortions and blaming the victim are all apart of this story.  We, as a society, are headed towards a meltdown.  Consider this, in Australia, COLES stores around the country were closed for more than three hours one morning due to a technical glitch affecting the supermarket’s cash registers.  It’s understood the issue was nationwide but not all stores were closed. Coles did not inform customers of the store closures through Facebook or Twitter, and because of that, people all over the country lost their minds, venting frustrations online.    Be sure to visit our sponsors, get free and discounted stuff: go to gameflyoffer.com/dudesfromdallas and get a free 30-day trial subscription to play video games on any console and handheld you desire.  If you wanna save money on nerdy stuff, go to trylootcrate.com/dudesfromdallas and use the promo code bridge10 to save 10% on a new subscription.  Pick your crate and save money.  Tell your friends and help them find the show on Stitcher, iTunes or Google Podcasts. Be sure to follow Dudes from Dallas on all the social media platforms and share with all of your friends. Auto racing is a dangerous sport, and that was on display this last weekend at Pocono Raceway where the Verizon IndyCar series was in action.  Driver Robert Wickens has a scary crash that left us wondering if he had survived.  A few weeks earlier at the same track, a NASCAR rookie had his own scary moment at the tricky triangle, and we break it down. Driving race cars professionally is dangerous, but so is driving your regular family car on the highways.  In Sacramento, a car crash on I-5 leads to a fight and deaths of both drivers.  The details are insane. Rob Rotten is not a fan of the DC Comics movies, and Warner Bros.’ refusal to get it right enrages him more.  The upcoming Batgirl film may have found their leading lady, and it’s a terrible choice. Don’t agree with him, tweet him at @TheRobRotten. Strip clubs could soon be a thing of the past because lap dances are now considered violence against women. Our idiot of the week is professional video game player Douglas Martin for dumping his smoking hot weather girl girlfriend Yanet Garcia.  Look her up, she is the absolute hottest weather girl in the world. A lingerie company is running ads featuring disabled models.  Does a woman in her underwear showing a colostomy bag sexy to you?  That’s not to say that we disapprove of people needing those, but it doesn’t exactly equal better sales for your brand. It’s the middle of the week, and the Dudes are back with some laughs and some commentary to carry your load through Friday.  What do you get when you combine one of the most iconic bands of the grunge era with the lead vocalist of the most mocked band in modern history?  If your answer is anything but a train wreck, you would be wrong.  Truth be told, someone has started a Facebook campaign aimed at getting the surviving members of Nirvana to reunite in January with Nickelback singer Chad Kroeger on the mic.  Luckily, it won’t happen, as it was a prank.       Facebook has banned everyone’s favorite conspiracy theory nutjob Alex Jones from its platform for 30 days.  Texas Senator Ted Cruz calls it a First Amendment issue, but he would be wrong.  This is part of Facebook’s unbalanced attack on what it calls hate speech.  In this case, the Dudes agree with Mark Zuckerberg, despite him being one of our favorite targets to mock. Speaking of Facebook, Wall Street has pulled Mark Zuckerberg’s panties down and spanked him on the ass to the tune of the company losing $119 billion after missing user registration goals.  Papa John sues Papa John's.  The Papa claims the company is performing a coup and he’s not gonna take it.  He’s using the classic “Bob Newhart Defense.”  What is the Bob Newhart Defense?  You’ll find out.  While we’re talking about poor decisions, cities are banning plastic straws, let the mocking begin.  Rob Rotten may end up in jail when he travels to Los Angeles next week, as he plans to being his own straws.  Finally, famed comedian Gilda Radner is being remembered in a new film, and the Dudes take you through the comedy legend’s story before her death from Ovarian Cancer. Time to start a new week, and the Dudes want to help you get through Monday with some knowledge and some laughs.  The New York Daily News publishes a cover featuring President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin on the back of a horse, and members of the LGBT community are outraged.  The Dudes tackle people being professionally offended and the outrage people are looking for on purpose.     Ricky Gervais is back at it, and this time he’s being called out for telling jokes about rape and talks about people being outraged at things he tweets.  The Dudes offer an insight, people are taking too many things personally, as if the world revolves around them.  Remember, you can control your reactions to things that may upset you, and despite the notion to the contrary, the universe doesn’t revolve around you. Animal House is turning 40, and the Dudes talk about how a movie like it cannot be made today.  A lawyer for former Stanford University swimmer Brock Turner argued this week that his client's attempted rape conviction should be overturned because he was practicing "sexual outercourse," which the lawyer described as a form of "safe sex."  Nick Vicious feels some sympathy for the kid.  Kids can ruin their lives very quickly, and they should think about things before making stupid decisions.  Be sure to visit our sponsors, get free and discounted stuff: go to gameflyoffer.com/dudesfromdallas and get a free 30-day trial subscription to play video games on any console and handheld you desire. Dudes From Dallas PSA: Don’t let politicians and people in general put you in boxes by trying to label you.  If you’re a conservative vegan, or a homosexual gun owner who loves the NRA, own it.  Be you and don’t let anyone try to tell you how you decide to live your life is wrong.  Rob Rotten shares some dumb criminal stories.  A woman in the Netherlands had a creative way to get back at the woman who was sleeping with her husband.  Let’s just say it left a special burning feeling.  Also, a man in Arkansas called the police on himself after throwing rocks at a school.  His reasoning for making the call is certainly a surprise, so he can avoid the temptation of drugs and alcohol.  The Dudes take a moment to commemorate the passing of radio legend, the real life DJ from “Good Morning Vietnam”. Humpday is upon us, we’re halfway through the week and the Dudes are back with a packed show.  We try to push you out of your comfort zone, playing just the tip, just for a second to see how it feels.  Nick triggers Rob by introducing a teaser clip of Disney’s next live-action adaptation film, “Christopher Robin.”  Rob is not amused, but the movie stars Hayley Atwell from “Agent Carter” and Marvel Cinematic Universe fame, so that makes him happy.  Otherwise, Rob Rotten is not a Disney fan, saying they’re unoriginal and prefer to buy out their competition.  We then revisit what will surely be a great movie, “The Happytime Murders.”  The movie featuring muppet-like characters showing what life is like after Sesame Street.  Dudes From Dallas PSA: A Japanese man died after his friend blew air up his anus using an air compressor in a ‘prank’ gone wrong.  So don’t use air compressors in any type of prank.  Asia Times suggests that the frequency of such ‘accidental’ incidents in Japan may have something to do with the childhood practice of ‘kancho’ – where children poke each others’ butts as a prank. A statue of late Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell is to be erected in his hometown of Seattle.  The Dudes take a look at the idea of erecting a statue dedicated to a person who committed suicide.  The hope is that it brings awareness to mental health and suicide, and doesn’t just lift the person up based solely on their contributions to the arts.  Bill Clinton says every US state should return to 'some sort of paper ballot system' to stop elections from being hacked.  Nick Vicious is on board, while Rob Rotten thinks Bill Clinton is merely out petitioning for the paper ballot to ensure a Hillary victory in 2020.  They break it down as only they can. It’s Monday, the start of a new work week, and time for another Dudes From Dallas episode.  Monday’s watercooler talk focuses on the funny, or lack thereof on college campuses around the country.  VICE News on HBO ran a segment about the growing number of comedians who will not play college campuses because students, or professional student employees can’t take a joke.  “The kids that I’m programming for are not cis-het dudes. And we intentionally program towards that,” Kat Michael, the program booker for Simmons College said. Michael went on to explain that certain jokes about transgenderism and sexual assault could lead to a performer’s microphone being turned off. Additionally, it could lead to the comedian not being paid for their performance. The Dudes break down the VICE News piece and offer their take on what comedy is and what it should be.  To help illustrate their point, the Dudes rely on the comedy musings of George Carlin and the talentless hack Amy Schumer.  It becomes #SettledLaw that our generation wins. Nick Vicious struggles and checks his moral compass in Rob Rotten after reading a 19-year-old father in Arkansas smothered his infant child before trying to revive her by shocking her with a live extension cord.  Should we feel bad for the young father?  Did he have an adequate support system around him to help raise his child?  The Dudes tackle America’s “Labor Shortage Epidemic”, which is not what you think it is.  Employers are willing to do anything to fill jobs, except pay people more.  The Dudes talk about the toxicity of the job market and how people are not going to be willing to take it anymore, seeing as they can probably earn more on welfare than some of the wages employers are forcing on employees in order to continue bank rolling investors. Finally, Walmart wants to start recording employees and customers in their stores, both visually and audibly.  Rob suggests they can merely go to people of Walmart to see what goes on in their stores.  Nick shares a story about a recent Walmart visit, and Rob recounts a summer spent working for the company.  They’re both quite entertaining. ‘90s Musical Acts Return in Unexpected Ways: There is a saying: what was once old is new again.  And there is nothing that gets people worked up more than a pair of ‘90s musical acts coming out with something new. The Spice Girls have been teasing their fans for years about a possible reunion.  Justin Timberlake is transitioning into country music, using a one-of-a-kind music video with Chris Stapleton as the launch pad. Justin, as you may recall,  was active with the boy band N’Sync from 1995-2002. Timberlake and  Stapleton teamed up for the video to the hit song “Say Something” and used a sixty-person choir inside the historic Bradbury Building. The Dudes answer an important question ... What in the hell is a XENNIAL? While the Dudes were talking about this months ago, other media outlets are finally catching on to the new term.  The Dudes explain what Xennials are, and link the whole thing to porn, because really, it usually comes down to porn. Nick rebuilt a porn found on the side of the road, and Rob bought a VCR with a BIG surprise in it... Welcome to Wednesday … Dudes Style.  New episodes drop every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. There’s a lot of fake outrage out there, and actual outrage to go along with it.  Have you tried to express opinions on social media only to be shouted down by those on your friends list?  We talk about the discourse and the inability for people to talk to one another in respectful ways, especially when they disagree with each other.  Trump Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders gets kicked out of a restaurant, people rejoice.  Unfortunately, those same people were the ones who were angry when a bakery refused to decorate a cake for a gay couple.  The double standard leads to a lot of hostility and anger amongst the masses.  As a country, we need to have discourse, but we need to be able to communicate our differences in constructive ways.  The Dudes illustrate that mantra by pointing out that Nick tends to be more to the left, while Rob more to the right … yet they come together to discuss and find that middle ground.  Nick Vicious makes his feelings about Hillary Clinton and political dynasties known … hint, he doesn’t care for them.  Propaganda is everywhere, defend yourself with facts.  Remember, stupid used to hurt.  Stormy Daniels and Bill DeBlasio went to the border.  The New York Mayor was denied entry and started whining about it.  Rob lets him know just what is wrong with his presence there, and how Texas feels about New York.  The Dudes share some perspective on social media arguments gone bad, and offer their respective takes on the issues.  With all of the discourse and arguing going on out there, the Dudes feel it’s important to remember one very important thing … there’s no need to be calling people Nazis … ever.  Unless you know what the true history of the Nazi party, don’t pull that card.  Name calling immediately shuts down the ability to have a conversation and reach the substance of one’s position.  Don’t let people bait you into falling into the muck, rise above. It’s Friday and the Dudes are back with more of the less filling, more taste format.  That means three episodes a week for you every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. It's our 20th episode!  Who would have thought we'd make it this far.  If we had known we were hitting that milestone, we may have put a lot more effort into the show.  But, we promise you, we'll make up for it in episode 21. Today Rob tries to celebrate Nick getting his car back from the shop, after spending a lot of money and a lot of man hours, working overtime and then some.  Of course, Nissan isn’t doing anything about it and is taking no responsibility for their faulty transmission.  Since we’re talking cars, Rob Rotten takes a look at the dumbest trend for cars ever imagined: Vanity Plates.  You know those plates, the ones with cute words or sayings, perhaps a name or whatever it is people come up with.  The Dudes discuss the expansion of toll roads and how ridiculous they are.  Nick talks about an issue in his home state of California, the possibility of the state breaking into three smaller states.  The reasons behind the desire to split are numerous, and the insight the Dudes provide will surely help you around the water cooler.  We also take a moment to celebrate, albeit belated, a special day for Sci-Fi nerds. It’s a new format for the Dudes, the more taste and less filling variety.  Be ready for new episodes to drop every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. It’s a heavy start to the week, but we promise you it’ll get lighter as the week goes on.  Sometimes things happen in the world that you have to stop and talk about, regardless of how uncomfortable they are.  This week Nick Vicious and Rob Rotten discuss the passing of Anthony Bourdain and Kate Spade, both from apparent suicide.  The Dudes examine what could drive someone as successful as them, as well as others like Robin Williams and Chester Bennington to end their lives in such a fashion.  We get a surprisingly good answer from Terry Crewes on the matter.  And the Dudes implore people to reach out and actually communicate with people face to face, as opposed to merely through social media.  Another public figure that is facing the end of his time on this Earth is Fox News contributor and Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer, who has only weeks to live after his aggressive cancer came back.  He left readers with a note explaining his absence for the past 10 months and what’s been going on with him.  And while we have political leanings and may not agree with what he says and writes, one must take the time to admire the grace for which he faces the end for him. IHOP is changing their name to IHOB … leading everyone to wonder what the B stands for.  Many people think it’s Breakfast, but according to one reporter, it’s actually Burgers.  So International House of Burgers?  We disagree.  Nick tries to convince Rob Denny’s is better, but Rob ain’t biting.  If the B does indeed stand for burgers, look for the Dudes to start eating at the Original Pancake House.
