It is Cancel Me, Daddy's fifth anniversary! This week, former co-host Oliver joins Katelyn and Christine to discuss all the panic around cancel culture. Oliver and Katelyn pinpoint how they defined cancellation when the podcast started in 2021 and what has and hasn't changed about it over the past five years. Some of the very same “cancellation grifters”—Bari Weiss, Dave Chappelle, and J.K. Rowling—from the show's earlier days are still profiting from their so-called cancellation[s]. They've evolved into what Katelyn and Christine call “media villains,” which exist within the show's increasingly focused media and politics lens. Oliver, Katelyn, and Christine scrutinize the cancellation-to-grift pipeline with the show's trademark wit. Come celebrate five years of thoughtful analysis and verbal shitposting! Tone sits down with comedian, actor, and creator Brian Moller — aka B Mo the Prince — for an honest, thoughtful, and funny deep dive into his career, creative process, and perspective on comedy in the digital age.Brian breaks down how he actually answers the question, “What do you do?”, versus what he really feels his work represents. He explains how his viral sketches — often built around generational differences, faith, and human behavior — come together, and whether he starts with the joke or the observation. They dig into how much of modern comedy is about timing vs. understanding internet culture, and Brian names his biggest inspirations in comedy, writing, and acting. He also opens up about how he measures success at this stage of his career and how he protects his mental health while creating in a world that reacts in real time.In the 4th Quarter, things get fun and Boston-heavy:☘️ Start, Bench, Cut: Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics
Remember Robin Hood: Men in Tights from 1993? We do… or at least we thought we did. It's been a long time since we last watched this one, but c'mon, it's Mel Brooks. Starring Cary Elwes, Dave Chappelle, Richard Lewis, and Amy Yasbeck, and directed by the iconic Brooks himself, this should be a slam dunk, right? As we revisit what would become Mel Brooks' penultimate film, we find ourselves asking an important question: Does Men in Tights still fire off laughs like a well-aimed arrow, or does it trip, fall, and land in a deeply uncomfortable, “wow, that really looked like it hurt” faceplant?

Comedy Central once defined what mainstream comedy looked like.In this episode of Why Are You Laughing?, we break down the rise and fall of Comedy Central — how the network became the center of stand-up comedy, political satire, and boundary-pushing television, and why that dominance slowly unraveled. From Chappelle's Show and South Park to The Daily Show, we examine the shows that made Comedy Central essential viewing and the cultural moment that allowed them to thrive. We also look at Comedy Central's stand-up and roast catalogs, how the network shaped comedy careers, and why its influence over stand-up, political comedy, and pop culture began to fade as media habits changed. This episode isn't just about a network declining — it's about how comedy itself moved on.TIMESTAMPS3:39 Origin of Comedy Central5:51 Bill Maher & Politically Incorrect12:06 South Park from Trey Parker and Matt Stone19:29 The Daily Show with Jon Stewart31:46 Comedy Central Presents & their stand-up comedy cataloged40:27 Dave Chappelle & Chappelle's Show49:09 Comedy Central Roasts56:23 Tosh.0 + The Downfall1:00:55 Tough Crowd w/ Colin Quinn1:05:29 Norm MacDonaldFOR ALL THINGS BLIND MIKEhttp://blindmike.netFOR ALL THINGS CRAIGGERShttp://www.verygoodshow.orgFOR ALL THINGS HACKRIDEhttp://hackridethedemon.comFOR ALL THINGS DJ ELECTRA FRYhttp://djelectrafry.com

Hey everybody, welcome back to Myopia Movies. This week we're tackling an action-silly Nicolas Cage classic: Con Air. And honestly—if you've never seen it before, I almost want to tell you to stop and watch it first… but our discussion is good enough that you'll survive either way. Fair warning: this episode got chaotic. So chaotic, in fact, that our newly married editor and panelist, Nur Chernnet, had to cut nearly 15 minutes of material. We went completely off the rails. What you're hearing is the best of what survived. We hope you enjoy the wreckage. As always, keep listening, keep subscribing—and now for some big news. If you're listening to this when it drops (mid-January 2026) and you're in the Metro Atlanta area, make sure you follow CineProv on Facebook. At the end of the month—the final Wednesday—we're launching a brand-new regular CineProv show. Even better, Keiko and Jeremy, two members of the Myopia crew, will be debuting their first show that night. Go support them. It's going to be great. One last thing: attached to this episode is a link to our Amazon Wish List. If you pick a movie from the list, not only will we cover it on the podcast (thank you for the support!), but we'll also record an exclusive, personalized riff just for you—attached to a DVD so you can watch us tear into the movie specifically in your honor. Check it out, see if anything grabs you, and as always—thanks for listening. How will Con Air hold up? Host: Nic Panel: Candace, Jeremy Directed by Simon West Starring: Nicolas Cage, John Cusack, John Malkovich, Colm Meaney, Mykelti Williamson, Nick Chinlund, Renoly Santiago, Ving Rhames, Dave Chappelle, Rachel Ticotin, Steve Eastin, Steve Buscemi, Danny Trejo, M.C. Gainey
Wayne Brady opens up about the surprising reality that despite his career as an improvisational powerhouse, he considers himself a quiet recluse who never actually aspired to be funny. He breaks down how he approached comedy as a science rather than a natural personality trait and shares the deep work ethic instilled in him by his grandmother in Orlando. We also get a candid look at his "get in where you fit in" philosophy and learn how he thrived as part of an ensemble by scratching the itch to perform whatever role was required. The conversation takes a vulnerable turn when he recounts the terrified moment he blanked during his audition for Hamilton in front of friends Lin-Manuel Miranda and Thomas Kail. He explains how he recovered from that stumble to land the role of Aaron Burr in Chicago and why he actually finds more comfort in the structure of a script than in the freedom of improv. We also discuss his current role as a talking horse in All In and why he loves playing grounded characters in absurd situations. Wayne Brady is a multiple Emmy Award winner and Grammy nominee known for his work on Whose Line Is It Anyway? and as the host of Let's Make a Deal. His extensive television credits include How I Met Your Mother, The Masked Singer, Black Lightning, and Chappelle's Show. On Broadway, he has starred in Kinky Boots, Chicago, and The Wiz, and played Aaron Burr in the Chicago production of Hamilton. He is currently starring in All In on Broadway.
