This was a very chaotic! From the New York Knicks eliminating the Boston Celtics,to the firing of Brandon Hyde. Ok, the clueless Commissioner of Baseball washed his hands with the Pete Rose situation. He took Rose and Joe Jackson off the permanently banned from baseball list. What a coward! You gotta hear my thoughts on that. The 150th Preakness was held at Pimlico racetrack for the final time. In 2026, the race will be at Laurel racetrack, making it's return in 2027. I'm really disgusted with sports right now, check out the rest of this episode, to hear more. We will be back next week with Episode 270.
Draymond Green, acting like a fool again, but the racist slur wasn't cool. The Celtics had a very rough few games at home, but rebounded to get a win in The Garden versus the New York Knicks. Abdul Carter settled on wearing number 51, instead of 11 and 56. Retired numbers are retired for a special reason. We send out our condolences to former Detroit Tigers legend Chet Lemon. Chet passed away at the age of 70 this week. Happy Mother's Day to everyone. Have a great day and celebrate mom in a very special way. We will be back next week with Episode 269. Thank you again for your time and listening to this podcast. See you soon.
The Kentucky Derby winner is Sovereignty. He beat put the favorite Journalism to win the 151st addiction of the race. Congrats to the Denver Nuggets on kicking the Clippers out of the NBA Playoffs. The Clippers ARE A JOKE! They will NEVER WIN ANYTHING WITH HARDEN AND SIMMONS....HAHAHA
The NFL Draft is complete, the saga and drama of Shedeur Sanders is over, our questions has been answered on where Travis Hunter is going as well. Jack Bech was drafted by the Las Vegas Raiders, his brother was killed in New Orleans on New Years eve in a tragic car accident. The NBA Playoffs are absolutely amazing. The Oklahoma City Thunder broke out the broom on Memphis. The play that shocked the world was the dunk by Aaron Gordon to beat the Los Angeles Clippers. We had to say goodbye to the Pope and the TV show The Connor's. The GURU will see you next weekend and we will talk about the Kentucky Derby. I'm going with Journalism. Episode 267 next week. Later.
Ok, Aaron Rodgers is upset, again...haha. Give it up for the New York Jets for making a grown-ass decision on moving forward and dropping his ass like a bad habit. The NBA Playoffs are here and I'm not liking what I'm seeing from the Los Angeles Lakers. Please, don't let the Minnesota TWolves take another one from you at home. We paid homage to a former Milwaukee Bucks legend, Junior Bridgeman. We acknowledged his passing that was just noticed yesterday during the Bucks playoff game. The GURU staff would like to wish a Happy Easter to everyone. "He is risen" Matthew 28:6, let's celebrate or Lord, Jesus Christ.

We lost another giant in the world of acting. Val Kilmer was a cool, funny at times with a smooth style that will never be matched. Kilmer passed away this past Tuesday, of pneumonia, after a long battle with throat cancer. The first minutes was dedicated to his final screen appearance with Tom Cruise in Top Gun Maverick. We also listened to an interview with Larry King on the thoughts of another Top Gun movie. Rest in peace to Doc Holliday, Iceman and my personal favorite when he played Jim Morrison in the movie, The Doors. Alex Ovechkin is one goal away from the record that we all thought that couldn't be broken, Wayne Gretzky's record for the most regular season goals. Both are currently tied with 894 career goals. Today, history could be made. The NFL Draft is coming up in 18 days, as we get closer, we will talk more about it. The NCAA championships are here. Florida and Houston on the mens side and UConn and South Carolina on the ladies side. Good luck to all. We will be back next week with Episode 264. Enjoy the rest of your Sports Weekend. BASEBALL IS BACK! In America! We are glad the season has begun for all of the MLB teams. We are keeping an eye on several teams as the season progresses, no World Series predictions at this time. Walter Clayton Jr! I told you about this kid, and he showed why I was so hyped up over his game. Florida and Duke are the first teams to advance to the Final Four, the other two tickets will be punched later today. LEAVE JACKIE ROBINSON's MILITARY HISTORY ALONE! The GURU doesn't talk about politics, but this subject could not be ignored. DEI is something that has been in place for all Americans. We will be back next week with Episode 263, enjoy the rest of your Sports Weekend. The GURU will see you real soon.
George Foreman, known as the baddest man on the planet in his heyday, passed away this week. Foreman had the best career of any boxer after his final fight in the ring. He was larger than life during the sixties and seventies, but he was able to accomplish the unthinkable at 45 years old. On November 5th, 1994, Foreman knocked out Michael Moorer to claim the Heavyweight Championship, as the oldest champion in history. But, he was the spokesman for one of the greatest inventions, The George Foreman grill. With sales of over 100 million units sold, we all had one. Rest in Peace champ! OH yeah, the baseball season started...in Japan. Opening day in the US is this Thursday. St. John's is gone, UC San Diego is gone, how's your bracket? MINE IS CRAP! Enjoy the rest of the tournament, I still have Florida, Maryland and Tennessee left. Thanks for listening and enjoy the rest of your Sports Weekend. We will be back next week with Episode 262.

RJ Luis Jr. scored 29 points, 27 in the second half to lead St. John's to a blow out win in the Big East title game. Florida is another team that the GURU has his eyes on. On February 27, we received the very sad and mysterious news that the world had lost a movie icon with Gene Hackman and his wife Betsy Arakawa, and one of their three dogs. The Santa Fe police department is still investigating and the case is still not ruling out the possibility of foul play. Hackman will always be remembered as an actor that can fit any role and could make it Oscar worthy. From the tough 1971 tough cop, "Popeye" Doyle in The French Connection, which earned him his first Academy Award for best actor, to the evil sheriff Little Bill Daggett in his role in "Unforgiving" which he earned his second Oscar for best supporting actor. Hackman will always be remembered for always being a gentleman and one of the greatest humans as well. While at the top of his career, Hackman decided to walk away from Hollywood, just like some of the greats in sports, like Ted Williams, Barry Sanders, Jim Brown. The GURU TALKIN SPORTS podcast, salute Hackman and sends our deepest condolences to his family. We will be back next week with Episode 259.
I'm back, after a week off to watch that butt kicking Super Bowl by the Philadelphia Eagles. Well, the United States and Canada had a mini war last night in Montreal. Three fights in the first nine seconds of the game was AWESOME! I love Canada, but the GURU isn't down with the booing during the national anthem. That forced the US to score three unanswered goals, on their way to a four nations victory. This might be the first round between the two teams. Tyler Herro won the Three-Point Shootout, Matt McClung won the Slam Dunk Contest for the third straight year, without any of the big named superstars. Check out your television, and check out Paradise! This one is outstanding. Thanks for listening and enjoy the rest of your Sports Weekend. We will be back next week with Episode 257 of the GURU TALKIN SPORTS podcast.

We are hours away from the final CFP bracket release. ALABAMA IS OUT! Hopefully, the committee cannot put another SEC team in the field. Oregon and Arizona State were the only team's to win their conference in their first year. Arizona State was picked to be dead-last in the Big12. Pete Rose, you know that name, you know what he did, but now that he's no longer with us, we can always remember the man and the way he played the game. He was geared, and programmed to one thing, winning. Another year, another quick exit from the playoffs for the Baltimore Orioles. What needs to change for this team? It's not the managers fault, the players are on the field are not playing the way they should be. Also thanks to my childhood friends that I haven't seen in several years. Enjoy the rest of your Sports Weekend and enjoy the London game, between the New York Jets and Minnesota Vikings. We will be back next week with Episode 239. Until next week, stay safe.
The GURU has some very harsh words for the Commissioner of Baseball and the greedy owner of the Oakland A's, you both can rot in hell! This situation in Oakland shouldn't have happened. It makes me sad and angry to see this proud franchise and the community suffer due to the ignorance and stupidity of Manfred and Fisher! For any city to lose their sports teams is heartbreaking, but in this case it's just down right WRONG! This situation had an easy fix, but this is the worst part of sports, GREED! The GURU will always recognize the franchise as the Oakland Athletics. The GURU likes the NY Liberty and the Minnesota Lynx to advance to the WNBA Championship. Thanks for listening and enjoy the rest of your Sports Weekend. We will be back next week with Episode 238 of the GURU TALKIN SPORTS podcast.

We will be back next week with Episode 236 and have a great rest of your Sports Weekend.
Ok, I'm going to get a lot of hate and praise from this year's NFL predictions. I'm looking forward to the start of the season and hopefully there will not be another repeat NFC East winner. The GURU kept it real, and he did not predict anything from the heart, and he wasn't a homer, sorta. GURU and the Junior GURU's went division by division to break down of what to expect this season. Also, the GURU gave you his three games picks. Enjoy the rest of your Sports Weekend and enjoy the first week of the 2024 NFL season.
