Former pro tennis player and current Tennis Channel commentator Bradley Klahn joins the podcast to recap the dramatic action at Indian Wells, where several players are stepping up and elevating their games. Klahn explains why Carlos Alcaraz remains his dominant self in Tennis Paradise, and why lefty power-servers Jack Draper and Ben Shelton might have the best chance of anyone in defeating the all-worldly Spaniard. The 2010 NCAA Singles Champ also reviews Daniil Medvedev's dominant performance in the fourth round, Holger Rune's ability to reign in his game, and Tallon Griekspoor's breakthrough at the start of the season. Klahn also dives into the women's draw, where Iga Swiatek continues to dismantle the field. The commentator discusses Mirra Andreeva's annihilation of Elena Rybakina, Belinda Bencic's incredible comeback season after becoming a mom, and what has propelled Madison Keys to sustained success at Indian Wells, in her first event back since winning the Australian Open. The action in the desert is reaching the final stages, and Bradley Klahn breaks it all down on The Inside-In Tennis Podcast. Hosted by Mitch Michals.

Journalist and tennis commentator Amy Lundy returns to the show to recap all the action from Indian Wells, where 24-time major champion Novak Djokovic has been bounced early yet again from the field. Lundy discusses Djokovic's form and next moves from here, as he looks to claim yet another grand slam trophy. The writer and podcast host also breaks down why Carlos Alcaraz is so comfortable in these California conditions, the reasons for Stefanos Tsitsipas' resurgence, and why players like Jack Draper and Tommy Paul have all the tools for a deep run in the desert. On the women's side, Lundy analyzes why Iga Swiatek is so brilliant at this tournament, and whether Aryna Sabalenka, Coco Gauff or Elena Rybakina can elevate their game enough to make a run at this title. Lundy also dives into Mirra Andreeva's standout start to 2025, Marta Kostyuk's aggressive playing style, and which players off the radar are dangerous at Tennis Paradise. And Lundy explains why Emma Navarro might just be the current talk of the tours! Hosted by Mitch Michals.

Tennis Weekly had an EXCLUSIVE scoop this week as we broke the story that tennis legend Venus Williams was NOT accepting the highly publicised wild card to Indian Wells after Chris and producer Alina attended an in person event with Venus in Denmark! Not only did the news story and Tennis Weekly catch the attention of tennis media WORLDWIDE but it also caught the attention of BNP Paribas Open Tournament Director Tommy Haas who after viewing our Instagram Story put out a statement to say he had been "informed" Venus wasn't accepting the wildcard. Interesting...In other news It was also another blockbuster week on the ATP and WTA Tours come to an end with Joel, Kim and Chris on hand to dissect it all at Tennis Weekly HQ. Mirra Andreeva came of age in Dubai with a string of sterling performances to crack the Top 10 for the first time. Andrey Rublev also rediscovered his mojo in Doha with his first 500 title since 2022 whilst Jack Draper also made the final on return from injury. Sebastien Baez defended his title in a raucous Rio where there were epic doubles scenes as Matos and Melo became the first Brazilian champions of the event infront of a packed home crowd (who said doubles was dead??).Off court, the fallout continues for both Jannik Sinner and Elena Rybakina. Novak Djokovic had his say on the Italian's doping ban and said 'favouritism' was at play whilst WADA said it was 'a million miles away from doping'. And the gang talk about the issue of safeguarding as Emma Raducanu was put into an uncomfortable situation in Dubai where she had to ask for a stalker to be removed during her match against Karolina Muchova. Quiet week in tennis? It will never happen. ATP coach Calvin Betton, The i Paper journalist James Gray and former tennis reporter George Bellshaw sit down to discuss a couple of weighty issues in tennis this week. Jannik Sinner has agreed a three-month ban with Wada after two positive test for clostebol last March. Wada re-stated their acceptance of his excuse, that a member of staff had used it, but would have claimed on appeal that he bore some responsibility for the actions of his team members. Stefano Vukov, somehow still coach to Elena Rybakina, has been handed a one-year ban by the WTA for "mental abuse", calling Rybakina stupid and telling her she would "still be picking potatoes in Russia" if it wasn't for her, as well as pushing her physically to the point that she got ill. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6035283/2025/02/11/stefano-vukov-wta-ban-report-elena-rybakina-coach/ Joao Fonseca has won his first ATP tour title in Buenos Aires Jelena Ostapenko didn't win the title in Doha but has cemented her place as Calvin's "absolutely rock star" of women's tennis Learn more about your ad choices. A blockbuster week on the ATP and WTA Tours concludes with the tennis world still reeling from World No. 1 Jannik Sinner's three-month ban from the World Anti-Doping Agency. Joel, Kim, and Chris break down the latest developments, the timing of the announcement, and the potential ramifications for the sport. On the court, Amanda Anisimova claimed the biggest title of her career at the W1000 event in Dubai, while teenage sensation Joao Fonseca continued his meteoric rise by capturing the title in Buenos Aires. The team also explores why Jelena Ostapenko remains Iga Swiatek's kryptonite, the ongoing drama surrounding Elena Rybakina and her suspended coach Stefano Vukov, and the swift return of Novak Djokovic to the tour in Doha—where he's set to play both singles and doubles alongside a retiring Fernando Verdasco (who, admittedly, we didn't realize hadn't retired yet!).Plus, the US Open shakes up the mixed doubles event with a drastic overhaul that has divided the tennis community, and Joel's game returns with a Canada-themed edition.SOCIALSFollow us on Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, plus email the show tennisweeklypod@gmail.com.MERCHPurchase Tennis Weekly Merch through our Etsy store including limited edition designs by Krippa Design where all proceeds go towards the podcast so we can keep doing what we do!REVIEWS***Please take a moment to rate and review the show on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or wherever you get your pods. Ben and Tumaini are back together again in Melbourne, teeing up a season that started earlier than ever before, and a first week that ended with a classic. We discuss the United Cup, which reached a peak in the final with Coco Gauff beating Iga Swiatek, turning what had been a hopelessly lopsided rivalry into an absolute thriller, a shift that could have major ramifications atop women's tennis. We also discuss the rest of the United Cup, a successful event that really seems to have found its footing. We also discuss Naomi Osaka's run to the final in Auckland, which ended in an abrupt injury retirement after winning the first set. We then cover Tumaini's trip to Brisbane, where there was a servebot renaissance and a chatty Novak Djokovic. On a more serious topic, we then cover the WTA confirming the existence of an investigation into Elena Rybakina's controversial coach Stefano Vukov, as reported by The Athletic. What do we know and—what don't we know—about the case at this juncture? Then to end with much more fun, Tumaini takes the "Z" Trivia quiz Ben recently wrote for Bounces. Thank you for listening!
