What sets Christian business owners apart from the rest? Should we follow the standard business advice out there, or should we be doing things differently? We know as Christians we are called to live lives set apart–that look different from the rest of the world. But what does that look like practically in our businesses? It can be hard to navigate the implications of that calling, so I'm here to shed some light on the topic and give you some practical tips to guide you as you craft a business as a faith-based entrepreneur. Have you ever struggled to lead effectively when either growing and/or managing a large team? Is it hard for you to delegate tasks to your team, because you'd rather have control over the bulk of the material you're responsible for? This episode starts season 10 of the Christian Woman Business Podcast. Thank you so much for being with me up to this point! Since I recently moved and have taken a full-time job (read about this on Instagram), I am not going to be creating new content for this show for the next few months. So, for the duration of season 10, I've selected some of the best business focused episodes from my other show, the Christian Woman Leadership Podcast, to share with you! In episode 115 of the podcast, you'll hear a conversation I shared with Simple Pin Media Owner and Founder Kate Ahl, who shares how she has grown her business substantially over the years while learning how to let go of control, and delegating tasks to her team. She shares tips on how to let go of that control, how to help your team members work in their strengths, and how to stay in your own lane rather than falling into the comparison trap. Are you tired of hearing how a 6 figure income would change everything for you? It feels like so many people in the online business space are doing whatever they can to hit that idealized number, but what does it mean for you if that isn't exactly what works best for you right now? Over my 7+ years of building a business online, I have seen dozens of programs, courses, and masterminds that are targeted to helping you reach 6 figures, 7 figures, and beyond. Many of these programs are great. I know of some of them personally that truly do provide support, guidance, and coaching to help you reach those particular business goals. There's nothing wrong with having a financial goal attached to a program in terms of the results that they are promising. However, I have intentionally decided NOT to have my upLIFT Mentormind be a program that is focused on helping you reach a particular revenue goal. And in episode 112, I'm going to tell you why. Have you ever had a goal, or something you wanted to accomplish, but you just didn't know how to get there? Maybe you knew some of the things that needed to be done, but you couldn't seem to put it all together. It's like trying to do a puzzle without having the cover of the box available for you to see what the final picture looks like. You might be able to get the puzzle put together eventually, but it's a lot harder when you don't know what it's supposed to look like. I recently experienced this when trying to get my home ready to sell. I needed help and a strategy, so I called a friend over to help me strategize and organize my home to get it prepared for the sale. Once she came and helped me the first time it got the ball rolling, and I was able to move forward with the tools and suggestions she had given me on how to tackle this huge project. I was able to then go on and continue doing a lot of the work on my own. And this is how it is sometimes in our businesses. Sometimes we need the support of others to help us get started on things that seem way too massive or challenging to start alone, or if we do it takes us way longer than it might have if we took advantage of the support we could have. Therefore, episode 111 of the podcast talks about 4 problems that a faith-based mastermind might help you overcome. What does it look like to leverage your expertise? What are some of the practical ways you can do this? Perhaps you've heard me talking about this topic in the last few podcasts, and you're wondering what it looks like in real life. In episode 104, I want to share with you my own journey of leveraging my expertise so that you can see some of the possibilities for yourself. If you have an expertise and you are working with clients in a 1:1 setting, there's only so many people you can reach. You are somewhat limited by time and the number of clients you can serve at one time. But as you develop and grow in your expertise, you may find that you want to expand your impact and grow your income. In episode 104, I share with you a bit of my journey and the various ways I have done this over the past 7 years. Looking back, I can tell you that this is a bit messy. I was doing some of these things at the same time. Some of them worked really well, and others took longer to see results. Do you ever struggle to see yourself as an expert in your field? Do those doubts, fears, or imposter syndrome creep into your thoughts? Maybe you are wondering if you should even listen to this episode or read this blog post where I'm talking about this concept of leveraging your expertise. What do you do if you feel this way? What do you do if you are trying to build a business online and you don't consider yourself an expert? In this episode, I'll share with you a four-step exercise that will help you move forward, no matter what. The other day I was on a call with a bunch of women who are all part of the same mastermind. We were having a brainstorming call and we were discussing upcoming presentations that several of us had. In the midst of the discussion, a theme rose to the top: many of these brilliant women were concerned that their presentations would not be valuable enough. They didn't want to look stupid as compared to all the other people presenting at the same event. As I listened, all I could think was: but you are all so smart! You're all experts, and none of you are going to look dumb! The truth is, many times we don't see our own brilliance. We don't recognize our own areas of expertise, even when others do. What if this year was the year that you decided to leverage your expertise? What if you could embrace the way God has gifted you and the knowledge, the experience, the training, and the investments you've made that have led you to where you are today? And what if you stopped holding back on how you're building your business, and you really decided to leverage what you've accomplished up to this point and stepped into that expert status? I believe that you have the power to impact and influence culture. As Christians, I believe it's not just our opportunity, but it's our responsibility to do this. Instead of just going along with the things that culture is throwing at us and that the world around us accepts as normal, such as the practices and business strategies that are out there, we as Christian business women can actually create, innovate, produce things, and do things differently than the world does around us. I think it's so important to hear the real truth about someone's business in order to get the whole story and the full picture. I did this last year and I know that most people enjoy hearing a bit of the “behind the scenes” kind of content. And as you know, I am pretty honest about business and don't want you to get false ideas about what it's like building an online biz. I know a lot of the stories that we hear in the online space are all about the wins and celebrations, but I also think it's important for people to be honest about the hard work that they put in, the money that they invest, and all the other things that go into running a business online. So today I'll share what worked, what didn't work, some lessons I've learned, and what's going to be both changing and staying the same in my business this coming year. If you're a regular listener of the Christian Woman Business Podcast, maybe you've been wondering what happened to the show? You might have noticed that I released episode 99 on Nov. 3rd, and then I have been MIA since. Now, this is a seasonal podcast and I have taken breaks in the past. In the meantime, I want to share with you a couple episodes I recommend that you check out, especially as we are currently in December of 2022 and preparing for a new year. What do you do when your business has grown and you are maxed out on time? How can you take the process and the transformation you offer as an individual consultant, service provider, or coach and serve more people? Listen in to this strategy session for some ideas you may not have considered. In this strategy session, you'll hear from my friend Laura Howe. Laura is the founder of Hope Made Strong, and she has a consulting business working with churches. She came to me with an issue in her business, and we sat down to work it out together. We talk about what to do when you've gotten your business to the point where you're getting clients, but you're running out of time. Without more time, you can't really serve more people, but you would like to potentially earn more, or at least free up some of your time. She and I hash out what the options are when you're in this sort of situation, and some practical steps for moving forward with a solid game plan. If you enjoyed my conversation with Laura and want to know how you can join my upLIFT Mentormind that she mentioned was so helpful to her, head to https://upliftmentormind.com/ to check out your options for joining! I'd love to have you. If you're interested in a 1:1 strategy session like you heard with Laura, head here to check out your options. The space on these is incredibly limited because most of my time is spent serving my clients in upLIFT and other programs, but I encourage you to check out the link to see if this might be a good fit for you. Have you ever felt like you have to sell your soul to social media in order to grow your platform? Or dreamed of what it might be like to sustain your biz while kissing social media goodbye? In this episode of the podcast, I talk with podcaster Stef Gass about what it takes to grow a business without social media. She shares vulnerably about her rise to network marketing success, her journey to hitting a rock bottom of sorts, and the way God used that challenging time to bring about a thriving business for Stef. She chats all about the ins and outs of creating a business by surrendering everything to God, and shares the importance of trusting Him with all aspects of your business. A major aspect Stef trusted God with in her business was removing social media from her business. While she still has a team member post weekly updates, she has completely removed herself from the process. Now Steff is passionate about exchanging the 1:1 platform usage of social media to a 1:many approach through podcasting. Throughout our conversation, she shares the depth and richness that podcasting can bring to a business and how it's not only possible, but is an essential way for business to grow and thrive. Her knowledge, insight, and lessons learned have proven Stef as an expert in the podcasting arena, and I am thrilled to share her tips and stories with you! She's certainly an inspiration for what your business could look like if you find yourself burnt out and tired of the social media hustle these days. Even if you're not, you're sure to find inspiration from her stories and ways of doing business! For the full show notes for this episode, head to estherlittlefield.com/95. Does it make sense to invest hundreds or thousands of dollars to attend an in-person event when you can now participate in most of them virtually? And is there an ROI on attending something in real life, rather than staying at home and participating online? In this episode, I'm sharing why I think in-person events are absolutely a valuable investment for your business. I'm going to give you some specific reasons why I think they are worth the money, even though you can participate in so many amazing events online. I am a huge proponent of building connections and relationships online, but there's still something unique and special about gathering in person. Do you ever wish you could earn more, but you don't want to give up more of your time? If you've maxed out your time, or don't want to take on more clients, but want to increase your revenue, listen in for 2 specific strategies that may help you do so. In this episode, I want to chat with you about an issue that many of the clients and students I've worked with have and one that I have faced in the past too. At the beginning of my business, I was a VA offering all kinds of services. I had website design, Pinterest services, tech services, social media support, graphics, and more. It was A LOT. I had hired a couple of subcontractors to help me because I couldn't keep up with it all myself. But even with the subcontractors in place, I still was working nights and weekends many times. I was at a point where I wanted to grow my income, but I really had no more time to give. I couldn't take on more clients unless I added to my team, and I wasn't really sure I wanted to do that. I had to figure out a way to do so without adding to my workload. In this episode, I'll share the 2 strategies that I implemented and some tips for doing so yourself! These are not things I came up with myself, but many times when I talk to my clients about these ideas, they find them incredibly helpful! What comes to mind when I say the words ‘passive income'? Do you picture yourself on the beach sipping a cold beverage while reading a favorite book? Do you think about things like ‘making money in your sleep' or spending a dollar and making two? In this episode, I want to share with you the truth about passive income and what you might need to pursue instead. If you've been around in the online space for more than a minute, you've probably heard the term ‘passive income.' You may have even dreamt about this glorious sounding dream of bringing in money overnight, making sales in your sleep, and having enough income to go on a month-long vacation to the Bahamas while your business runs along seamlessly at home. This episode will bring some truth talk about this idea of passive income, and share with you a few things I've learned in the 7+ years that I've been building an online business. AND I'm going to share with you another option that might be better for you to consider depending on your stage and phase of business. If you don't currently have recurring revenue in your business and you want it, consider exploring these options. Of course, each business is different and the offer you create needs to align with your other programs and services. Figuring this out and helping you create recurring revenue is something that I work with my clients on inside of my upLIFT Mentormind. If you're at a place where you are already bringing in consistent revenue, but you'd like to uplevel what you are doing or create more time freedom, have more alignment, and be surrounded by fellow Christian women building an online business, then I'd love to invite you to check out upLIFT here. What if there was one skill that would transform your business? What if you could shift from confusion and spinning your wheels to traction and consistent income? Learn what it is and 4 benefits of this skill in today's episode. Full show notes here: https://estherlittlefield.com/78 We've been in a series about consistent income over the past few weeks. I talked to you about the key ingredients to consistent income in episode 76 and then Biblical money mindset in episode 77. Most of the women I talk to want consistent income, but some of them are struggling to get there. Here's why: There are hundreds of voices sharing their advice about how you should build an online business and it's hard to figure out who to follow; so sometimes you get paralyzed OR you try to patchwork a bunch of different tactics and approaches You might be multi passionate and you are FULL of ideas and potential ways to share your expertise - and you struggle with picking something - you want to do all the things or you fear choosing the WRONG thing You don't have a path to follow that allows you to stay aligned with your faith and values and reach your financial goals. So instead you feel like you are just spinning your wheels and going nowhere. It's no surprise that the majority of people who start an online business end up throwing in the towel. So what is the antidote to spinning your wheels, feeling scattered and trying to do all the things to grow your business, and jumping from idea to idea, thinking that the next one surely will be the one that takes off? What is the solution to finally earning consistent income in your business? Here's the truth: Creating consistent income in your business is not rocket science. But it does take one thing: FOCUS. What does the Bible say about money? And how can we operate our businesses (and our lives) in a way that aligns with this truth? Today, we're going to chat about developing a Biblical money mindset as Christian women entrepreneurs. What the world teaches doesn't always line up with our Christian values. Sometimes even ‘Christian' coaches talk about money and misuse Scripture or pull things out of context. Some of what the world teaches as it relates to a money mindset has elements of truth and some of what Christian leaders and coaches teach do line up with truth. It is so important to practice discernment as it relates to these issues. I'm going to share my thoughts and a few of my own money experiences, but as with everything, I want you to study for yourself and use discernment when it comes to this issue of developing a Biblical money mindset.
