There's a moment in every business when you realise the way you've been working can't keep working. The harder you push, the smaller the world around you gets. The more you "scale," the less you actually live. This week on The Flow Lane, I'm sitting down with Abigail Brown, a serial founder who has built and exited three values-led businesses, including the plant-based superfoods brand Sari Foods and the organic childrenswear label The Simple Folk. Today, alongside her sister-in-law Amy Wilson, Abi co-runs Rebrandr, where they're quietly pioneering what they call the Slow Business Model. Last year, that approach grew their revenue by 181%, and they did it while staying present, healthy, and very much in their own lives. What I love about this conversation is how honest it is. We talk about the part of scaling nobody likes to admit, that the founders who reach the next level aren't the ones working the hardest, they're the ones who finally let go of doing it all themselves. We talk about why systems are the unsexy thing that actually creates freedom, and why most of us avoid them anyway. We talk about scaling without losing yourself, your team, or the soul of what you built. If you've been quietly burning out trying to grow your business, this is the conversation I want you to hear. It's a reminder that there is another way, and that the women living it are already among us.You can find Abi at rebrandr.co.uk or on Instagram at @rebrandr.creative.studio, and listen to her podcast The Slow Circle wherever you get your shows.Work with Emma: https://go.flowstatescollective.com/soulful-strategy-sessionOpus 4.7 AdaptiveTo apply for the 1% Club click hereThanks for supporting The Flow Lane with Emma MaidmentIf you like the show be sure to leave us a 5 star rating and review. Send us Fan MailIf selling has ever felt like a betrayal of who you are, this episode will rewrite that story.I sat down with Justin Janowski, founder of Faith to Influence, where he helps Christian entrepreneurs master high-integrity sales. Over thousands of sales calls and millions of dollars in deals closed, Justin has built a reputation for something rare: a sales approach that is generous, honest, and genuinely win-win, whether the prospect buys or not.Justin's journey wasn't a straight line. He launched two businesses that didn't survive. He quit a stable job with a newborn baby and a wife who had left her career to support the family. And on his third attempt, armed with a system rooted in high-integrity sales principles, he did over $250,000 in revenue in year one, against a goal of $60,000.What you'll hear in this episode isn't theory. It's the real cost of conviction, and the proven framework for building a business that doesn't require you to compromise who you are to grow.If you've been doing all the right things but still feel stuck in your sales process, this conversation is for you.Books MentionedThink and Grow Rich by Napoleon HillThe Ruthless Elimination of Hurry by John Mark ComerPracticing the Way by John Mark ComerThe Anatomy of Peace by The Arbinger InstituteTo learn more about Justin and the Christian Coaches Academy Live event happening July 15–17 in Milwaukee, click here. What would you trade for the perfect life? Fame? Love? Power? And more importantly… who's writing the contract? This week on Code Noir, CJ and Jamaal dive into Bedazzled (2000) — the glossy, chaotic, and surprisingly philosophical remake of the 1967 British cult classic. Starring Brendan Fraser and Elizabeth Hurley as a devil who knows exactly what you want before you do, the film takes the classic Faustian bargain and drags it straight into the early internet age.We break down the seven wishes, the twisted outcomes, and what they reveal about ego, identity, and the illusion of control in a world obsessed with self-reinvention. From its roots in Swinging London satire to its Y2K transformation into a slick Hollywood morality tale, Bedazzled becomes more than just a comedy — it's a mirror of a culture learning to sell itself.Along the way, we explore:The evolution of the Devil from sardonic trickster to seductive brandWhy every wish fails (and what that says about us)Early 2000s obsession with image, success, and “having it all”Whether Elliot is the problem… or just the symptomBecause in the end, Bedazzled isn't really about the Devil. It's about us — and the deals we keep making with ourselves. No pitchfork required.

In this episode, Lex chats with Marc Boiron — CEO of Polygon Labs. Marc shares his journey from law to blockchain, discussing the challenges of navigating crypto's evolving legal landscape and the complexities of structuring compliant DeFi projects. He explains Polygon's strategic pivot to focus on stablecoin payments, leveraging its proven blockchain and global partnerships. Marc highlights Polygon's real-world adoption, competitive edge, and vision to become the leading platform for on-chain payments. The episode offers insights into regulatory hurdles, industry trends, and Polygon's mission to transform digital money movement. NOTABLE DISCUSSION POINTS: The Labs-Foundation Structure Is a Frankenstein - and Its Creator Knows It: Marc helped architect the legal frameworks behind major DeFi token launches but openly calls the outcome a “complete Frankenstein.” The arm's-length separation between labs and foundations was necessary to survive regulatory hostility, but makes coherent execution nearly impossible. He argues projects still copying this structure today are doing so out of habit, not legal necessity. Generalist Blockchains Are Dead - Polygon Is Betting Everything on Payments: As chain architectures converge, Boiron believes differentiation through speed and low fees is over. Polygon analysed its actual usage, found stablecoin payments was the standout vertical - $2.3 trillion already moved, fintechs across LatAm, Africa, and Southeast Asia already on-chain - and went all-in. The thesis is binary: if all money moves on-chain within a decade, even the 50th-best payments chain wins big. Polygon's Real Moat Is Enterprise Trust Built During the NFT Era: The 2022–23 enterprise NFT push looked like a dead end after FTX collapsed, but it left behind institutional due diligence and credibility. Fintechs evaluating payments chains find that Polygon has years of live production use, Fortune 500 relationships, and Stripe already defaulting to it - a trust advantage no newly launched chain can replicate. AI is officially in the workplace, on the group chat, and probably drafting someone's “thought leadership” while they're still in the shower. In this episode of This Is Woman's Work, Nicole Kalil goes toe-to-toe with the thing that's equal parts fascinating and mildly rage-inducing: AI and the future of work. Enter Katie Fortunato, Co-Founder and EVP of Platform Innovation & Strategy at Hire Innovations, a global leader in human-centered AI talent technology. Together, they unpack how to use AI as a tool (not a personality), how to avoid “automation without accountability,” and why the future belongs to humans who can still think, judge, and lead—aka the “skills” no bot can fake convincingly for long. In this episode, they get into: Why AI feels like cheating… and when it actually is The difference between using AI for productivity vs. outsourcing your identity “Brand choices” (aka: how to lose audience trust in one easy AI avatar) How to start using AI if it's intimidating: repeat-task lists, tiny experiments, and momentum Picking AI tools without spiraling: ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude—and why it's like joining a gym AI in hiring: what “responsible AI” actually looks like in talent tech The uncomfortable truth: there is no 100% guarantee—so you need guardrails Vendor trust, data privacy, compliance, and why downloading random tools at work is chaos behavior Why protecting critical thinking is urgent—especially for kids (and honestly, adults too) The core takeaway: let AI handle repetitive work so humans can double down on context, curiosity, judgment, and care Wrap-up (because the point is the point): Nicole and Katie land on a clear line in the sand—AI can boost productivity, but it shouldn't replace human thinking, discernment, or authenticity. The future of work won't just be shaped by what AI can do; it'll be shaped by what people choose to protect while using it. Thank you to our sponsors! But what happens when eternal life becomes boring? We break down the episode's themes of mortality, greed, and existential dread, along with a deep dive into the performances of David Wayne as Walter Bedeker and Thomas Gomez as the unforgettable Mr. Cadwallader. Is "Escape Clause" one of the most underrated early Twilight Zone episodes? How does its dark humor compare to the more somber morality tales of the series? If you love classic television, vintage horror, and morally twisted storytelling with Rod Serling's razor-sharp moral irony, this deep dive into "Escape Clause" is for you.

This talk explores Right Livelihood as a living inquiry rather than a rigid moral rule, asking how we can earn a living without gradually betraying our values, vitality, or sense of dignity. Grounded in the Buddha's teachings and everyday work life, the talk examines the ethical foundation of do no harm, the importance of inner congruence between what we do and what we feel in our bodies, and the often-overlooked relational impact of our work—how it shapes our patience, speech, and capacity for care. Rather than idealizing purity, the talk brings a grounded, compassionate lens to the real tensions people face around money, responsibility, and meaning.   You'll learn how to recognize subtle ways work can create inner fragmentation, how to listen to bodily signals and conscience as guides to integrity, and how to assess whether your livelihood is making you more humane or more armored. The talk also offers a wise, practical approach to compromise—showing how to live in the world as it is without collapsing into cynicism or self-betrayal, and how to take small, sane steps toward a livelihood that supports both survival and awakening.

Key Takeaways from this EpisodeYour digital presence is portable. You may not stay at one company for 30 years, but your platform goes with you — and it compounds over time.Social is a “rented” platform (this is a brilliant point!). Think owned, earned, paid — and rented. Algorithms change, and you don't control the land you're building on.Brands are losing lift; leaders are gaining it. At Qualcomm, Jess saw corporate campaigns decline while executive voices gained traction — because people want a human point of view.LinkedIn is no longer just a resume. Jess shares why it's become a writing platform and an editorial home for experts — not just job seekers.Pick 3–4 narrative themes and repeat them. The strongest executive brands aren't random — they're built on an editorial strategy that consistently returns to a few clear territories.Your voice matters (especially now). Many leaders think they have “nothing to say,” but your experience and point of view are valuable — and the world needs more constructive voices. Addressing Relevant IssuesAlgorithmic amplification and polarization: We discuss how feeds shifted away from chronological and toward “what keeps you engaged,” fueling echo chambers and intensity. The ethical wake-up call of social media: Jess describes the internal pivot moment — realizing the space had become toxic in corners, and questioning how to use her skills more constructively.Mental health and unintended consequences: I reference a stark data point Jess brings up — a 65% increase in the suicide rate for high school girls from 2010 to 2019 — and we talk about responsibility and systems.AI and the rising importance of trust: In an AI-dominated age, credibility, warmth, and real human presence become competitive advantages, not “nice-to-haves.” Next StepsGet Jess's free LinkedIn Audit: Jess offered to review both your profile and your editorial strategy and give actionable next steps. Mention you heard her on Live Like a Leader.Define your 3–4 “narrative pillars.” Decide what you want to be known for — and build content around those themes consistently.Publish what you already say internally. The Ethical, Time-Saving AI Framework Every Woman Entrepreneur Needs I'll be honest… I've had at least three separate panic spirals about whether using AI makes me less authentic. Turns out, I'm not the only one losing sleep over this. That's why I brought in AI expert Natalie MacNeil for a conversation about how women can use AI in a way that protects their voice, values, and integrity. In this episode, Natalie breaks down why so many women feel resistance around AI, and why that hesitation is actually a strength. We talk about the real benefits: getting your time back, having support through busy seasons, and scaling without burning out or hiring a massive team. Then we get tactical. Natalie walks through her frameworks for prompting, building an AI dream team, and using AI to handle productivity, creativity, and decision-making without losing the human parts of your business that matter most. HERE ARE THE 3 KEY TAKEAWAYS FROM THIS EPISODE: 1️⃣ Using AI With Integrity Is a Leadership Skill – Women aren't anti-AI. They're pro-integrity. You get to decide what stays human, what you protect, and how AI supports you without replacing your voice, values, or creativity. 2️⃣ An AI Dream Team Gives You Your Time Back – When AI is set up intentionally, it can save hours every week, reduce decision fatigue, and support you like a full team would. That time can be reinvested into your zone of genius or your life outside work. 3️⃣ The 3 C's Framework Unlocks Better AI Results – Clarity, context, and cues are the foundation of effective prompting. When you give AI a clear role and goal, meaningful business context, and strong supporting cues, the output becomes dramatically more useful and aligned. Jenny Kassan, CEO of Opportunity Main Street, is proving that crowdfunding can be a powerful tool for revitalizing communities while offering investors a meaningful way to make a difference.Jenny is raising capital through a regulation crowdfunding campaign on SmallChange to renovate a historic building in Baltimore. This project, called Community Commons, will serve as both a hub for local businesses and a space for community-building activities. The first floor will feature a gathering space, coffee shop, and retail area, while the upper floors will house luxury furnished apartments for short-term rentals.Jenny explains her motivation: “I've believed for a while that it's really important to create a place-based ecosystem to grow this movement to move community capital into small business.” She has already raised $2.5 million for the project but is turning to crowdfunding to close the final gap. What makes this project stand out is its intentional focus on Baltimore. After hosting a women entrepreneurs' event in the city, Jenny fell in love with its historic charm and resilient spirit. “Baltimore is a beautiful, scrappy city,” she says. “There's a renaissance going on… it's a place where you can make a significant impact.”Jenny's choice of SmallChange as the crowdfunding platform is no accident. In this powerful and heart-opening episode of The Money Lighthouse Podcast for Spiritual Entrepreneurs, host Michel Ai Reavis continues the July series, "Transforming Your Money Relationship Through Your Soul Gifts." This second installment, titled “The Alchemy of Abundance: Monetizing Your Gifts Without Selling Your Soul,” invites listeners into a sacred reframing of wealth, value, and soul-led service. Michel reminds spiritual entrepreneurs that abundance is not something to hustle for — it's something they're meant to embody and channel, naturally and joyfully.Through three grounded, soul-nourishing concepts, Michel helps listeners shift old money stories and dismantle the fear of "selling out" their spiritual gifts. She gently guides them to recognize the spiritual significance of being visible, being valued, and being paid — not as betrayals of purpose, but as affirmations of it. With wisdom and warmth, Michel speaks to the common inner conflict spiritual entrepreneurs face: wanting to serve deeply while simultaneously fearing judgment for charging. She offers a new, empowering perspective — that monetizing one's gifts is an act of sacred reciprocity, not spiritual compromise.Listeners are also invited into visualization practices and journal prompts that deepen their connection to this week's message. Michel illustrates how prosperity and service are not mutually exclusive, but rather, mutually sustaining. The episode closes with a soulful affirmation and an intuitive action step to help listeners begin crafting offers that light them up from the inside out. It's a loving, truth-filled reminder that receiving abundance is part of one's divine design — and that when the circuit of giving and receiving is whole, everyone thrives.Contact:michel@moneylighthouse.com
