If you've been listening to Girls Gone Hallmark for a while, you'll know that Wendy was not a fan of "A New Year's Resolution" from 2021. But hold onto your popcorn, because now, after watching nearly 200 Hallmark Channel flicks, Megan and Wendy decided to give this movie another chance. Could it be that the tides have turned, and "A New Year's Resolution" is actually not that bad after all? Time to find out! Tell us what your favorite Countdown to Christmas movie from 2023! Email us at meganandwendy@gmail.com and be sure to check out the 2nd Annual Girls Gone Hallmark Best Christmas Movie bracket beginning on January 6, 2024 exclusively on our Instagram. About "A New Year's Resolution" The movie was originally titled “New Year, New Me.” Filming locations included Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and St. Ambroise Beach Provincial Park in Canada. It was reportedly filmed in October and November 2019. Aimee Teegarden plays Kelly. She currently has 38 acting credits according to IMDB. Aimee is probably most known as angsty Texas teenager Julie Taylor from “Friday Night Lights.” Since the conclusion of FNL she went on to star in “Once Upon a Christmas Miracle,” “My Christmas Family Tree,” “Heart of the Matter,” “Autumn in the City,” and “Christmas Class Reunion” for Hallmark Channel. Michael Rady plays Tom. He currently has 55 acting credits. We most recently saw Michael in this “Where Are You, Christmas?” Other Hallmark movies of his include: “Unexpected Grace,” “The Christmas Bow,” “You're Bacon Me Crazy” as well as fan-favorite “Love to the Rescue.” Kelly's friend group was played by Elise Bauman (AJ), Patricia Issac (Lisa) and Devon Alexander (Jackson). Devon Alexander is one of those faces that shows up a lot in our Hallmark movies yet he's never had a lead role. We last saw him in “Love in Glacier National,” “Where Your Heart Belongs,” “The Santa Stakeout” and “Chasing Waterfalls.” Sarah Montana is the writer of the movie. Most recently she wrote “Rescuing Christmas” which premiered exclusively on HMN on Dec 7th. She's also previously penned “If I Only Had Christmas,” “Two Turtle Doves,” and “Love to the Rescue.”  Lesley Demetriades directed. She has 11 directing credits, but only one since this movie and it was the CCB movie “A Christmas…Present” for GAF. Why Was "A New Year's Resolution" Pulled From the Hallmark Schedule - A New Year's Resolution was to air originally on December 28, 2019 as part of that year's Countdown to Christmas. However, on December 16, 2019 a tweet from @HotlineHallmark revealed that the movie had been pulled from the schedule.  A few articles I found didn't have many details as why the movie was pulled. Coincidence or not, but the movie's producer Kevin Duda also had another movie pulled from the Hallmark schedule earlier that year.  A recent conversation with some peers in the industry mentioned that this movie was pulled because Bill Abbott - the head of Hallmark at the time - simply didn't like the movie. Girls Gone Hallmark pulls this gem of a movie from the vault for Christmas in July! Megan and Wendy review the underrated "My Christmas Family Tree" starring Aimee Teegarden, Andrew Walker and James Tupper. This movie originally aired on November 13, 2021 and includes a nice surprise cameo from the King of Hallmark. Got a favorite movie starring your favorite leading man or woman you'd like Girls Gone Hallmark to review? Let us know! Email us at meganandwendy@gmail.com. Girls Gone Hallmark is a Hallmark movie review podcast hosted by Megan and Wendy. Listen in as they review "My Christmas Family Tree" starring Andrew Walker and Aimee Teegarden in this underrated holiday movie from 2021. About "My Christmas Family Tree" "My Christmas Family Tree" was written by Mark Hefti. He currently has 16 writing credits including "Unexpected Grace," "A Dickens of a Holiday," and "Beverly Hills Wedding." According to IMDb, Hefti has penned a holiday movies called "A World Record Christmas" starring Nikki DeLoach though it is unclear if this will air on Hallmark Channel. Jason Bourque directed. He has an impressive 58 directing credits including Hallmark titles "Game of Love" and "A Tale of Two Christmases." Fun fact: Bourque is also the director on the Hefti movie "A World Record Christmas." Related: "Beverly Hills Wedding" delivers one of the best lines, ever. Listen to the review from Girls Gone Hallmark. Aimee Teegarden plays daughter Vanessa. You might know her best from "Friday Night Lights" but has starred in several Hallmark movies including "Autumn in the City," "Christmas Class Reunion," "Heart of the Matter," and "A New Year's Resolution." Related: One of Wendy's least favorite movies - a review of "A New Year's Resolution" Andrew Walker plays Kris. Walker made it to the Girls Gone Hallmark 'King of Hallmark' final two. Who came won the title of 'King of Hallmark?' Some dude who had a small cameo in this film (psst...Tyler Hynes). James Tupper plays Richard. Tupper is currently starring as Cody in the Hallmark series "Ride." IMDb users gave this movie a 7.6/10 which is a pretty decent rating but not too many people talk about this movie as being a favorite. Girls Gone Hallmark hosted by Megan and Wendy have brand new movie reviews all summer long based on the suggestions from the Hallmark community!

The #1 TV network for the holiday season, Hallmark Channel welcomes you to Hallmark Channels’ Official podcast! In Episode 2, hosts Brennan Elliott and Nikki DeLoach give you an inside scoop on the Miracles of Christmas on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. The podcast kicks off with a special look at “A Godwink Christmas” with stars Kimberley Sustad and Paul Campbell. Based on author SQuire Rushnell’s “God Winks” book series, the movie is the real-life love story of the owners of The Charlotte Inn on Martha’s Vineyard. Along with stories from the set, Kimberley shares the special relationship she developed with her co-star Kathie Lee Gifford. Later, “Once Upon a Christmas Miracle” stars Brett Dalton and Aimee Teegarden join the show. Inspired by a true story, “Once Upon a Christmas Miracle” is the selfless story of Chris Dempsey, the former Marine who volunteers to donate half his liver to save a stranger. And later, “Memories of Christmas” star Mark Taylor joins the show to chat about the movie, his co-star Christina Milian, and learning to ice skate for the film.

It's prom season, y'all. The time of year when teenagers get all gussied up, tearfully reminisce about all those good high school times, and get underage drunk. Of course in Disney's PROM only two of those three things are going to happen. Vicky, Nolan and Jill may have grown somewhat cynical about this "greatest night of our lives" event, but our hosts still had a blast talking about this movie. How could they not, when the cast of high school students have age ranges from 16 to 28 and the presence of Aimee Teegarden gives them an excuse to talk about Friday Night Lights at length (again). They even do a little retrospective thinking on their own proms, and we know how much you D-sciples have been clamouring to know more about that. You don't even need to ask, We Want The D delivers.

This week's Brother Sister TV Time finds Dane doing the impossible - remembering every moment of Friday Night Lights S2 Ep. 3 ("Are You Ready For Friday Night") without any notes! That's easy to do with a memorable episode dedicated to scheming Buddy, Tim pondering life, and "The Slap Heard Around Dillon". Discussion Points - Buddy takes Tim under his wing and they share one of those hilarious/classic FNL scenes, Justine reveals insider knowledge after watching the ep with commentary by Connie Britton and Aimee Teegarden, and Lyla takes Tim to church (cue Hozier). Plus, Dane and Justine ask a very important question: who is a more adorable child actor - Jonathan Lipnicki or Jacob Tremblay? In the second segment, Justine was enlightened by the television portion of the CNN documentary "The Eighties". The siblings discuss 80s shows that they originally knew nothing about (Hill Street Blues, St. Elsewhere, Dallas) and how there has always been edgy TV pushing boundaries. Plus, Dane and Justine talk about their favorites from that era, including "very special episodes" of Growing Pains, Punky Brewster, and Saved By The Bell. Thank you for listening! On a side note: a sound issue was noticed after updating to Windows 10. Apologies! A new mic system is being worked out and the siblings will be back sounding better than ever. Until then, please continue tuning in (check out episode 17 again - that one was fun!) - Dane and Justine will be waiting on the couch.

Casey sits this one out to let Shiggins, Chris and returning guest Russ Seyfert to discuss the merits of The Voice, Casey's crush on Abbey Elliot, Russ asks the tough questions regarding whether or not Aimee Teegarden can even act, more talk of Downton Abbey, and a rundown of the new Sherlock Holmes based show "Elementary" which sounds terrible! Later on, the boys ask Russ, "What Are You Watching?!" with discussion of Justified, Luck, Shiggins compares David Milch to The Clash (which surprisingly works!). Finally, OSCAR TALK! Barbs against Billy Crystal, nobody saw The Artist, and The Muppets are still charming! Also, BLACK FACE IS NOT A GOOD IDEA!
