This session will review the different opportunities to make data-driven decisions in law firms and the challenges that go with them. Ideally the session, will differentiate between organizational/enterprise applications and client facing/legal advice applications. The goal is to map when data-driven decision-making is a good idea and when it is not. Further the session, will explore what to look for in terms of actions taken from data alone (bias, available data) and give tips how to get started and where to find structured data within your organization/firm to get started for a quick win. Questions Christiane will ask Andrew: • How can data enhance decision making? • When is it not appropriate? • What are the limitations: Bias, Data Hygiene • What needs to happen to make better use of data in the future? Moderator: @Christiane Matuch - Manager, Axiom Consulting Partners Speaker: @Andrew Medeiros - Director of Innovation Solutions, Troutman Pepper Hamilton Sanders LLP Recorded on 04-21-2022

Meghan Dornbrock and I explore the shadow-filled world of The Watch and look at how the move Blow Off Steam gives deep meaning to downtime. This move mechanically helps you reduce Weary and gain Camaraderie, two tracks that determine how strung out or connected your character is. Narratively this move helps give guidance and importance to downtime activities that might otherwise go overlooked. For the GM, we talk about how giving control of the story to the players in these moments can pay off big. For the 2015-2016 winter season, there were a total of nine IBC members sign contracts in the Capital Territory State League based in Canberra, Australia. This is one of six state leagues in Australia that regularly import baseball players from abroad. This interview is with Graham Vickers, the president of the Ainslie Bears, a club who have utilized the website to import players over the past couple of seasons. Here is an earlier interview from 2015 with Andrew Medeiros, an IBC member and former Ainslie Bear from the 2014-2015 season. Between the two interviews you can get a good idea of what the life of a baseball import to Canberra may be like on and off the field.

Andrew Medeiros was a standout in his NCAA III conference as a speedy catcher who hit for average with power for Westfield State College. After an all to familiar story of a talented player slipping through the pro baseball cracks in the U.S. Andrew decided to start looking for a 9-5 job. Before he really even got started looking, a friend told him about the International Baseball Community website and Andrew threw up a profile immediately and contacted me. Within two weeks he was on a plane to Canberra, Australia to play for the Ainslie Bears in the Capital Territory State League.
