Starting with a Criminal Minds cast panel, Paul walked all over the festival map to get to everything he wanted to see and do. A chance to interview Bridget Regan and the creators of a proof-of-concept pilot, Savage, popped up and after watching the pilot competition, he made it in time. From there, he went to the Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed red carpet, screening and panel. Although that sounds like a lot, Paul still had two more panels to go: The Everybody Still Loves Raymond writer’s room panel with Phil Rosenthal and Ray Romano and the big bash of the evening with Bill Lawrence and Friends. This is just a very short bonus episode, it was part of an assignment for a class I am taking. This is the full interview I did, for class I had to do a video and edit it down to under 3 minutes. Enjoy this quick interview with Sam about being an influencer on TikTok and Instagram. Side note, I met her and her boyfriend James almost two years ago randomly in Austin while I was there for the ATX TV Festival and they were there for one of her comedy shows. I will be seeing her perform in Dallas in just a few weeks. If you don't know who she is, look her up, you will thoroughly enjoy her videos. They are both very kind people and actually have their own podcast called Weird and Proud, which is great content, so go check it out.Party In Your Mouth Shot (from Spirits Cocktails):Ingredients:1/2 oz Midori Melon Liqueur (green layer)1/2 oz Orange Juice or Pineapple Juice (yellow layer)1/2 oz Grenadine (pink layer)Optional: Colored sugar or pop rocks for rimmingIce (optional for mixing)Directions:Rim the shot glasses by moistening the rim of your shot glasses with a bit of lime juice or simple syrup. Then dip the rims into colored sugar or pop rocks for a fun, festive touch.Layer the shot, start by pouring grenadine into the shot glass as the base. Grenadine is heavy, so it will naturally sink to the bottom. Next gently pour orange juice or pineapple juice over the back of a spoon to create the second (yellow) layer. And finally, layer Midori Melon Liqueur on top, using the same spoon technique to avoid mixing with the juice.Serve Immediately.Encourage your guests to drink it all in one go for the full "party in your mouth" experience!Drinking Game:Just take the shot at the end of the interview, but try to make your mouth as wide as you can to see how big your gape can be.Or...make 5 shots for the five questions. As always, drink responsibly and with others. This week I am joined by Danielle, a formal journalist, who I met at the ATX TV Festival, and she wanted to cover one of her favorite movies, Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead. If you don't know what the film is about, here is the synopsis: Sue Ellen Crandell (Christina Applegate) is a teenager eagerly awaiting her mother's (Concetta Tomei) summer-long absence. While the babysitter (Eda Reiss Merin) looks after her rambunctious younger siblings, Sue Ellen can party and have fun. But then the babysitter abruptly dies, leaving the Crandells short on cash. Sue Ellen finds a sweet job in fashion by lying about her age and experience on her résumé. But, while her siblings run wild, she discovers the downside of adulthood. White Wine Spritzer: Ingredients 3 parts Sauvignon Blanc 1 part club soda Lime wedge Directions Pour wine into an ice filled wine glass. Top with club soda, and garnish with a lime wedge. Or you could always make a martini & rossi on the rocks, that is both sweet and dry. Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead Drinking Game (drunkenme.com): Drink when... Gus is hit on by Sue-Ellen. Walter is seen watching TV. someone gives a reason why the babysitter isn't there. Kenny is seen drunk or stoned. Sue-Ellen lies. something is bought with the "borrowed" petty cash. one of Sue-Ellen's fashion "designs" is shown. "Clown-Dog." If you don't know what that means, I just clowned you, dog. Caroline acts like a bitch. As always, drink responsibly and with others. Follow or subscribe wherever you listen to the podcast. ATX Season 13 Day 4 For ATX Season 13 - Day 4 and our shortest day of coverage, the team's schedule was still full up until the moment of our departure from Austin and back into our everyday lives. Paul attended a career retrospective and Q&A with actor Toby Huss, who was in attendance at ATX thanks to his role in Halt and Catch Fire and the cast reunion held earlier. You may not like all of his characters, but you have to love his skill and dedication to artistic expression. Mike had the first of two true "ATX moments" at the panel for The Way Home. He explains how he went into the panel with no information about the series and after hearing the passion the cast and crew have for their show, came away wanting to seek it out. Paul attended the "Breakout Award" ceremony and presentation to Devery Jacobs. Mike's second moment came at a "mystery guest" panel. Not every ATX season advertises the moments when celebrities show up and interact with fans - but those moments still seem to happen every year. This year they made it an official panel with guests Austin Nichols and Adrienne Palicki. Paul's final panel of the day and for the show was a SUITS retrospective with key members of the cast in attendance. Join us for a detailed and entertaining recap of Day 4 at the ATX TV Festival. 2024 ATX Season 13 Day 2 For ATX Season 13 - Day 2, our coverage continues with a jam-packed day of events and exclusive insights. On May 31, we experienced the rich diversity and talent within the TV industry, and we're thrilled to share it with you! We started the day with the Presidential forum, where industry leaders discussed the current state and future of television. This was followed by the festival's first-ever "roundtable" session, offering a unique opportunity to hear from real Hollywood producers about their experiences and insights. One of the standout panels was "From Book, to Script, To Screen," where producers shared their journeys of successfully adapting novels into hit TV shows. Their stories of creativity and persistence were truly inspiring. Paul had the opportunity to interview Tom Blyth and Donald De Line from the MGM+ show Billy the Kid. Their conversation delved into the making of the show and the challenges they faced. Mike attended the panel for Resident Alien, which featured star Alan Tudyk. Mike provides an in-depth look at the panel discussion and Tudyk's engaging presence. Mike also attended a panel for showrunners, while Paul explored the art of monologues in Mike Flanagan's work. These sessions offered valuable insights into different aspects of TV production and storytelling. The day concluded with Pod Clubhouse's exciting evening at a reception arranged by Universal Studio Group. Highlights included karaoke with the actresses from Girls5Eva and a lively happy hour with the actors from Hotel Cocaine.
