On this special episode, I have the pleasure of speaking with executive producer and showrunner Latoya Morgan and lead actress Rachel Hilson about DUSTER, the new TV series from JJ Abrams and Latoya Morgan now streaming on HBO Max. Set in the 1970s Southwest, the show follows the first black female FBI agent as she takes on a crime syndicate by teaming up with a gutsy getaway driver. I'm an FBI consultant on the show. DUSTER also stars Josh Holloway as the getaway driver Jim Ellis and Keith David as the boss of the crime syndicate. After my conversations with LaToya and Rachel, I talk briefly about my role on the show as an FBI consultant and the significance of accurate portrayals of the FBI in books, TV, and movies, a major theme of my mission. It's a battle royale at the box office this Memorial Day weekend, Ethan Hunt versus Stitch. Meanwhile the latest Hunger Games prequel drums up a lot of interest just off its spot-on casting announcements. We have a TV review round-up for The Last of Us, Poker Face, and Duster, followed by Kyle's comic book Picks of the Week (POW! if you will). Also, Randy Pitchford weighs in on the $80 price tag of Borderlands 4, not in a cool way. Fortnite gives the world a Darth Vader chatbot no one asked for or needs. This week on DtW, fast drivin', hard crimin' meets robot angst and action! Dan and Raul watched the first eps of Duster and Murderbot, a couple of shows with not a lot in common outside a toy-centric opening intro. Duster is an old school 70s crime series about a seasoned getaway driver played by Sawyer from Lost, teaming up with the first Black female FBI agent as they attempt to prove or disprove that boss Keth David had the Duster driver's brother killed. The pretty straightforward, pulpy yet breezy crime drama stands quite in contrast with Murderbot, the new AppleTV+ book series adaptation where a newly sentient security robot with a perfectly human face attempts to pass off as a perfectly normal functioning security bot, poorly. After the first two eps, it seems as though the self-named Murderbot (played by Alexander Skarsgard with the helmet off) might be finding a place among his hippie space community, though word of his autonomy spreading might endanger this. All in all, a good couple of shows worth finding out about, so have a listen and check em out!
If you've got a year's worth of 'froading fun (ie: dirt) crammed into every corner of your truck, reaching a "perfect" clean might not be a thing. Instead, aim for "maintenance clean" - the body is rinsed off, the two-bucket method is in overdrive, the dirt is gone, and the rig is neat enough that you can go back to work fixing what you broke on-trail (or wash it again to a state of "show detailed"). The Garage Hour discusses how. We also chat about the need for a good fabrication guy, and why a good can of Krylon can be essential to your truckly appearance. There's also fun times with worn out electronics, worn out tires for White Mark the Diversity Hire's Grenader, worn out hi-po factory parts, and worn out old Metallica.

The YaketyCAST crew is back with another episode for all of our MADEA MANIACS out there! This week we talk about the Madea's Destination Wedding trailer and literally nothing else. Nope, that's the ONLY THING WE DISCUSS. Alright, FINE. We also talk about the trailers for SUPERMAN, NOBODY 2, DUSTER, and LILO & STITCH. We also discuss MAX becoming HBO MAX, ESPN's new streaming service no one asked for, and how bad of a week it was to be a drummer in a famous rock band. So join us, for this and much more nonsense!

There are some shows that will go down in TV history as setting the bar for a specific genre. And when those shows have ensemble casts, it pretty much raises the status of every actor on the screen. When it comes to cop shows that viewers and critics collectively have loved, one specific police drama and its characters from the 1990's and beyond stands out. This is Still Here Hollywood. I'm Steve Kmetko. Join me today with Donna Abandando from NYPD Blue, actor Gail O'Grady. Fools Fest is KCSU's annual punk festival, always set to happen around April Fools Day! Every year, KCSU gathers local punk and punk-adjacent bands to play on Colorado State University's campus, creating a unique and exciting event for all to enjoy. KCSU's music directors, Mia Templien and Ria Janapati, had the opportunity to sit down with a few of the bands performing for some in-depth interviews.Slag got their name from an unhoused man repeating the word "slag" as he walked by Clay Childress at The Atrium; after having a conversation with him, Childress decided it was fate. This spacey/shoe gaze/noise rock/indie band consists of twins Clay and Coleman. Childress, Caleb Shaver, and Andrew Jussila. Much of their inspiration comes from the DIY scene, with bands like Duster, Fugazi, and Built To Spill being some of their favorites. Slag's next show will be at the FoCoMX music festival at the Art Lab at 8pm on 4/19.

Good evening, and welcome to another thrilling episode of Brett's Old Time Radio Show!
Alright people! the Oscars were last night, and we have got a LOT to break down about it. Mostly just the vast amount of celebrating that seemed to go down around this ceremony, truly making it feel like the first time in years that they were actually about the art form and not the politics. For the most part. First, Luk and Dom break down the second episode of Season 2 of Lost, Adrift, before Dom & Dustin break down the Oscars, compare their predictions versus who won, and then proceed to go on random tangents about Joker. All of that and much more coming up this year on the #talkintvpodcast
In this episode, we'll learn about the First Woman of Finance, Muriel Siebert; hear from Lori Evans Taylor about her life as a screenwriter in Hollywood, and how would you like to be a crop duster?
What's the power of taking just one step? That's what Petra Bagust looks into on this episode of Sunday Sanctuary. When the journey ahead is too big to comprehend, or you have more than one option available, what would happen if we took one step? In this episode, Petra talks to co-founder of the charity One Mother to Another and former 1News Europe correspondent, Joy Reid, about her journey with long Covid and learning to take one step at a time. In recent months, producer Sam has been wondering what it means to be a good treaty partner here in New Zealand. One step he took this year was to head to Waitangi for a week. Another step he took was to take a microphone with him to record a Waitangi diary for this episode. Haere mai! (Make sure you're subscribed/following on Apple or Spotify - it helps with the show a ton! :) Hey, y'all! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday (if you celebrate)! Scuyler and I watched all five Die Hards over two days - I had never seen a single one - they're really good! Y'all are going to LOVE today's episode with Colin Morrison. Colin was a legend in the 90s Motocross world, traveling with the Warped Tour, getting arrested in Germany, partying all night with the bands - basically living a rock star life...including all the drugs. Colin finally found sobriety and made a name for himself as a sober influencer, even resurrecting his motocross career - only to have it all crash and burn when he revealed he had been relapsed and lying for two years of his sobriety. I had a great time chatting with Colin, you can feel his kindness through the screen, he's just a super genuine dude. Can't wait to hear what y'all think!
