In this episode, I have the pleasure of chatting with Timo Beke, an incredibly talented wildlife and bird photographer from Belgium.I first met Timo during the unforgettable Flock to Marion Cruise, where we connected over a shared love for seabirds, photography, and birding adventures. Since then, I've had the chance to learn more about his birding journey—and in this episode, you'll get to hear his story too.Timo talks about how birding became a passion during the pandemic, how photography shaped his journey, and how he's turning his love for nature into a full-time career. We also dive into topics like competitive birding, the growth of young birders, and the power of birding to impact mental health and mindfulness. And while this episode wasn't recorded on the cruise, the spirit of Flock to Marion and its mission is very much present. Today, we're joined by a Saturday night TV stalwart whose esteemed dance career has propelled him to stages and screens around the world, all without losing the cheeky glint he might as well have patented by now. It's the charming Anton Du Beke!Anton joins us just as he begins a mammoth tour across the UK. He chats about how the mistakes of his early days ended up paving the way for an overnight success, forty years in the making. We also talk about Anton's constant drive for greater success, the scarcely believable first impression he made on his wife and turning fascination into friendship with the likes of Bruce Forsyth and Len Goodman. It's a fascinating conversation with a national treasure who doesn't take himself too seriously - but takes his work hugely seriously. For all the latest news, click here to follow us on Instagram!***Please take the time to rate and review us on Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your pods. Jano Rošker in dr. Impresivnih znanstvenih in akademskih dosežkov dr. Bekešem pretresali v tokratnih Podobah znanja. foto: dr.

Succes. - ikwashier.live archiveert tradities en erfgoed, vooral immaterieel of ‘levend' erfgoed.

Welcome to Season 11! Kicking us off in style, we're joined by a dazzling duo who are set to waltz their way into your hearts, stars of Strictly Come Dancing, and heading into a second season of their much loved travel show Anton and Giovanni's Adventures, it's Anton du Beke and Giovanni Pernice. I spoke to Anton and Gio in London a couple of weeks ago, at a dance studio which was like something out of Fame - sprawling rooms filled with people singing and whooping and music blaring from every corner, so if you hear the odd vocal warmup or some echoey bits in the background, that's why. I've watched Strictly since Season 1 and Anton has been a part of the show since the very beginning, a seasoned dance floor veteran, first as a contestant and now as a judge. And then Giovanni entered with a bang back in 2015, reaching the final 3 times, and then winning with EastEnders actress Rose Ayling-Ellis in 2021.With Anton being half Spanish, half Hungarian and Giovanni growing up in Sicily, travel has played an important part of both their lives, and I hope you really have a laugh with us on this one.Destination Recap:Holly:COMO Alpina Dolomites Anton & Gio's Destination Recap:Sciacca, Sicily, ItalyTaormina, Sicily, ItalyPalermo, Sicily, Italy HungaryGalicia, SpainBilbaoSan Sebastian, SpainBenidorm, SpainBologna, Italy ThailandMaldives Pacific Highway 101, California, USACarmel, California, USASeville, Spain Ronda, SpainMadrid, SpainDoncaster, England, UKBangkok, Thailand Portofino, Italy Buenos Aires, Argentina, South AmericaNew York, USAEpisode 1 of Anton & Giovanni's Adventures in Spain will air on BBC One and iPlayer on Mon 18th March at 9pm.With thanks to my sponsors today - Citalia - Discover the real Italy with Citalia, the UK's leading Italian holiday specialists. It's grass court season and Liz and Michelle are excited for Wimbledon! In this episode, they are joined by tennis powerhouse Judy Murray to talk about her career reinvention as a fiction writer. Judy, (mum to champions Sir Andy Murray and Jamie Murray) has built an incredible career around tennis coaching and reimagined herself countless times including competing on Strictly Come dancing with Anton du Beke, appearing on Masterchef and winning the Slingsby Golf Academy to compete in the Pro-Am at the PGA Tour. Judy chats about women's safeguarding and inappropriate coach/student relationships in tennis, the future of Emma Radacanu, Judy's new golf hobby, the fantastic results of her non-surgical 'tweakment' and Liz & Michelle reminisce about playing tennis in the street growing up. They discuss her new thriller The Wild Card and how it's never to late to chase your dreams. KEY TAKEAWAYS Women in sports are always playing catch up, Judy felt like it was her duty to speak up for women and advocate for them in a world that is so often centred around the male perspective Judy never set out to become a tennis coach, she began working as support help at a club in her free time and the rest is history! Judy's book The Wild Card has a great underlying message about the power within relationships The pressure put on young tennis players is immense, Emma Raducanu has had a particularly difficult time through the media, receiving a lot of criticism when she is so young and had a lot of challenges There is a lot of expectation on all tennis players, especially if they do well quickly. It's not just about playing the game but everything that surrounds that including fitness, practice, training, sponsorship deals and more A good infrastructure of support and means are essential in helping many sports people succee Judy's book isn't based on a specific person or occurrence but tackles the theme of power imbalance in sports and how coaches need to be properly vetted and players supported Having to manage through difficult times often builds a special form of resilience and mental toughness that can help individuals achieve highly Judy recently had a non-surgical facelift. It helped plump her skin up and improve the appearance of sun damage and aging Being in the public eye, Judy has always been scrutinised much more than her male peers on her appearance. BEST MOMENTS “I can't remember a summer I haven't sat down and watched Wimbledon on TV” “Most of the decision-makers in the tennis world are men” “Tennis is a mental game, it's about problem-solving within the game, understanding the psychological side of it, adjusting your tactics depending on whom you're playing” If you enjoyed this episode, please rate, and review it on your podcast platform. This week's Monday Mile takes us out into a slightly different environment. You might expect this mile to take us into a ballroom, but no, we are in this particular individual's other happy place. He's the definition of a Gentleman, he's a multifaceted entertainer and an all round performer, a singer, an author and is most well known for his performances on the dance floor. However this particular individual now sits on the exclusive judging panel every Saturday night on one of our most well loved shows - yes you've guessed - it's Strictly Come Dancing, Anton Du Beke. We go for a round of Golf at the world famous Wentworth Course in Surrey. During our walk, we discuss Anton's passion for Golf outside of the ballroom as well as his NTA nomination this week, and what it would mean to him to win. We tap into the brutality of being knocked out of the competition on Strictly, as someone with a depth of knowledge and experience having had a professional career as a Ballroom and Latin dancer, and 18 years of performing on the show. Now on the other side as a judge, Anton gives us an insight into his empathy and understanding of what's going on and how he applies his critique. Anton also leaves us with some really strong takeaways which can be applied to everyday life, the importance of showing up and being ready when an opportunity presents, and his motto “The one thing you must bring to everything, is your best”. Aimee will be probing for answers from the full spectrum of routines; the early birds who have finely tuned Monday mornings, to the late risers who struggle to get up before 11am. How do elite athletes find the motivation to kick start their week come rain or shine? How do celebrities deliver no matter what the time of day? What knowledge can they pass on? Each episode drops on a Monday morning as a bitesize piece of content and weekly dose of motivation - right when you need it. Aimee will meet each of her guests for a walk and a chat and over the course of the mile she will find out how they cope on a Monday morning - their idiosyncrasies, breakfast routines, alarm noises - and how, when they need to, find the motivation to kick-on through the week. Sharing some of Britain's greatest athletes, entrepreneurs, doctors, authors and broadcasters ' secrets on self-motivation, candid thoughts on what they struggle with and a sideways look at some of their more unusual morning habits. Head over to IG to watch the visuals of our episode and what we get up to on our Monday Mile. https://www.instagram.com/aimee_fuller/ Filmed by Jon Moy
"Az erkölcsöt leginkább megtagadó diktátorok...jönnek, és mennek" - fogalmazott az író, tanár, országgyűlési képviselő, aki az Antall-kormányban másfél évig oktatási államtitkár is volt. Az 1993-ban készült beszélgetés idején már lemondott erről a pozíciójáról és függetlenként ült a Parlamentben.

Katie's back with a new series of Just The Tonic, the podcast that shines a light on the positive power of the arts. In series one, we looked at how music can help mental and physical well-being and in this series, we'll explore the benefits of getting involved in other arts forms too. For this episode, Katie's stepping back into the fabulous world of dance - she was in the Strictly final with Anton du Beke! Last year, Eastenders actress Rose Ayling-Ellis was the first deaf contestant to take part and, with her professional dance partner Giovanni Pernice, she waltzed her way from Walford to the Strictly crown. Rose did so much to break down the stereotype that deaf people can't dance and can't enjoy music and that's exactly what dancers Billy Read and Sarah from Critical Mass want to do. We hear from Billy about his Forbidden Identity performance at Birmingham's International Dance Festival which explores growing up as a Deaf child in a hearing world. Sarah talks about the huge benefits she gets from dancing with Critical Mass, an inclusive dance participation project bringing together young people from across the West Midlands with and without disabilities. And Katie chats to Cuban dance legend Carlos Acosta about his extraordinary life and his plans for the future as Director of Birmingham Royal Ballet. Plus we get a sneak peak of their fantastic show at the Birmingham International Dance Festival! We'll be following The People's Orchestra as they prepare for their performances at the Birmingham 2022 festival in the run-up to the Commonwealth Game and Chief Executive Sarah Marshall tells Katie what they have in store.https://thepeoplesorchestra.com/ Get bonus content on Patreon Hosted on Acast. My guest today is part of the Strictly furniture, he's also a singer, comedian, author and television presenter. His comical dance pairings in Strictly are what he is best known for: having been partnered with both Nancy Dell'Olio and former MP Ann Widdecombe. I am of course talking about the one and only, Anton Du Beke. Anton is an all-round entertainer and I was so thrilled to have the opportunity to speak with him about how Strictly brought the nation together during such a challenging time, my own Strictly faux pas, fatherhood and how he will tour forever. This was such an uplifting conversation and I'm so excited to share it with you all. A bit of light relief is what we all need right now! Make sure to read Anton's new book, A Christmas To Remember. *** Life and Soul is hosted by Emma Forbes, produced by Georgie Rutherford and Georgie Futong and edited by Steve Campen.
