This week on The Exit, host Steve McGarry sits down with entrepreneur, CPA, and wealth strategist Cecilia “CeCe” Leung for a candid conversation about one of the most overlooked parts of selling a business: what happens after the deal closes. Drawing from more than 20 years of experience in finance, Wall Street, and advising founders through complex transactions, CeCe shares why so many entrepreneurs focus on valuation and due diligence while overlooking the emotional, personal, and identity shifts that often follow an exit.
CeCe breaks down common mistakes founders make when preparing for a sale, from failing to think through post deal dynamics with private equity partners to overlooking succession planning and negotiating leverage. She also explores the deeper side of entrepreneurship, including founder burnout, setting boundaries, defining personal success, and why understanding why you want to sell may be just as important as the sale itself. Whether you are preparing for an exit or simply building toward one, this episode offers a refreshing perspective on creating both financial freedom and a meaningful life beyond business.

Cecilia “CeCe” Leung is a CPA, entrepreneur, and founder of Rich & Sassy Wealth Strategies, where she helps founders and executives navigate high stakes moments including exits, IPOs, and major financial transitions. With more than 20 years of experience spanning Big Four firms, investment banking, and CFO leadership roles, CeCe combines financial strategy with a human centered approach to help leaders build wealth, make smarter decisions, and create success that lasts beyond the business.

Arsenal return to the Emirates for what  is framed as “game one of five,” with the title race entering its decisive stretch. With Manchester City moving ahead on goals scored, the context is clear: results are now everything, but the debate remains around how Arsenal should approach these final matches. The episode opens with a look at the weekend's Premier League fixtures, including Sunderland vs Nottingham Forest and Wolves vs Tottenham, before attention turns fully to Arsenal's clash with Newcastle. The discussion sets the stakes around form, league position, and the pressure building on both sides heading into the fixture.Focus then shifts to the title race dynamic, including the impact of Manchester City's narrow win at Burnley and the implications for goal difference. From there, the hosts explore two contrasting tactical approaches — whether Arsenal should prioritise control and simply secure wins, or adopt a more aggressive, attacking mindset to maximise goal output.Team news and availability are assessed in detail, with injuries and doubts affecting both squads. Newcastle's absentees are outlined alongside Arsenal's ongoing concerns, including key players nearing returns and how that may shape selection decisions. The conversation moves into a detailed lineup debate, with particular attention on the right wing and left wing roles, and how Arsenal can best structure their attack. Kai Havertz's role is examined closely, including the argument for his importance across the remaining fixtures, while wider discussion considers attacking output, squad balance, and the impact of personnel on overall system performance. There is also a deeper look at Arsenal's pressing structure, highlighting the roles of Martin Ødegaard, Kai Havertz and Declan Rice in regaining control higher up the pitch, as well as how build-up play has been affected by absences in key areas such as fullback. The episode closes with reflections on what Arsenal need to deliver in this match, followed by an update on Mikel Merino's recovery timeline and whether he could feature again before the end of the season. One game at a time — the run-in starts here.Chapters:(00:00) - Arteta's Non-Negotiables & Intro(00:18) - Show Overview & Newcastle Preview Setup(00:55) - Farewell Liam(01:48) - Who Am I Game(03:44) - Predictions Game: Sunderland vs Nottingham Forest(06:18) - Wolves vs Tottenham(09:49) - Arsenal vs Newcastle: Match Context & Stakes(11:17) - Title Race Pressure & “Game One of Five”(12:52) - Man City Result & Goal Difference Context(15:30) - Tactical Approach Debate: Control vs Gung Ho(18:33) - Team News: Injuries & Newcastle Absentees(21:04) - Lineup Debate: Right Wing Options(25:19) - Havertz Role & Must-Start Argument(27:44) - Left Wing Debate: Eze, Trossard & Jesus Options(31:15) - Squad Structure & Attacking Output Concerns(33:51) - System vs Personnel: Getting Best Players on Pitch(35:48) - Timber, Calafiori & Build-Up Importance(38:54) - Newcastle Links & Transfer Discussion(41:46) - Pressing Structure: Ødegaard, Havertz & Rice Roles(44:02) - Declan Rice Role & Final Third Impact(45:43) - Closing Thoughts & Match Expectations(46:17) - Merino Injury Update Discussion(48:27) - Outro

In this episode of Bottled Up, host Andrew Allen sits down with Jourdan Derouen, owner of Oliver Scott Insurance, host of his own podcast, and co-founder of Carter's Champions. Jourdan shares his story growing up on the Gulf Coast, how he got into podcasting, and his passion for community service. They dive into the origins of Carter's Champions and the annual Pink Dress Run, which raises money and awareness for cancer patients. This year, thanks to years of hard work, the event will provide free mammograms through Memorial Hospital. Jourdan also opens up about overcoming personal struggles, the power of failure, and why real connections matter in both business and charity. The episode highlights the value of resilience, teamwork, and giving back to the community.       3 Key Takeaways     1. Embracing Failure and the Power of Persistence
Jourdan Derouen's journey highlights the importance of embracing failure as a part of growth. Both he and Andrew Allen discuss how failure is essential to learning and success—Jourdan shares personal experiences from dropping out of school to starting and evolving his podcast, as well as co-founding Carter's Champions. They both agree that being willing to fail, learn, and try again is at the heart of any self-made success.
   2. Community Impact Through Carter's Champions and the Pink Dress Run
A major focus of the episode is the Carter's Champions charity and its signature event, the Pink Dress Run. Jourdan explains the organization's origins, how it has grown (raising significant funds for cancer support), and the big milestone this year—offering free mammograms in partnership with Memorial, making cancer screening more accessible for the community. The event is depicted as a true community effort, supported by local businesses, volunteers, and heartfelt collaboration.
   3. The Value of Authentic Storytelling and Human Connection in Podcasting
Both speakers emphasize how meaningful conversations and storytelling are at the core of podcasting. Jourdan shares that the most impactful podcast moments come from genuine, long-form conversations where guests are comfortable and open, not just chasing popularity or clicks. It's these real, sometimes vulnerable stories that build connection, inspire listeners, and serve the greater good—be it in raising awareness, building community, or simply sharing life lessons.

My guest today is Zach Dell. Zach is the co-founder and CEO of Base Power Company. Base is a modern power company building a reliable and affordable home energy service powered by distributed batteries. We explore one of the most underappreciated machines in our world: the electrical grid. Zach walks us through the complex world of electricity infrastructure and explains why the 100-year-old grid is woefully unprepared for the explosion in demand coming from AI, electric vehicles, and industrial electrification. Base's approach involves creating a distributed network of home batteries that provide backup power to customers while serving as grid resources, elegantly solving infrastructure bottlenecks that plague traditional utility-scale projects. We discuss energy as the fundamental enabler of human progress, scaling distributed energy assets, and the vertical integration strategy driving Base's unit economics. My guest today is Darren Farber. Darren is a Managing Partner of Albion River, a private direct investment firm focused on acquiring companies that produce highly technical Defense Products & Services. He is a Former special advisor to the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense, a Former member of U.S. Department of Defense Task Force for Business and Stability Operations, and the list goes on and on. Darren is a wealth of knowledge in this space and someone I am grateful to have in the US corner. He shares his perspective on the changing role of the U.S. in global defense and how recent conflicts have shaped military technology and strategy. Darren explains his investment approach at Albion, focused on finding "one-of-one" suppliers and getting as close to the fundamental "molecules" as possible in defense technology. We discuss insights on evaluating the Taiwan situation, the lessons from Ukraine, how the defense budget is allocated, what investors can learn from defense primes, and why technological superiority remains America's greatest advantage. Please enjoy this discussion with Darren Farber.  Subscribe to Colossus Review.
