Jamie Murray, portfolio manager and head of research at the Murray Wealth Group, shares his outlook on global equities.
Jamie Murray is a 7-time Grand Slam Doubles Champion and a former world #1 with 34 career men's doubles titles. I set up a 15-minute interview with Jamie during the Dallas Open and we didn't talk about any of that. We also didn't discuss strategy, tactics, or mindset for improving your doubles game. I never asked about his story, or mentioned his brother Andy or his mother Judy.Instead, we talked about how to grow professional doubles. And the conversation lasted a full hour.Jamie is uniquely qualified to tackle this problem because of his success on the pro tour and his experience as the tournament director at the Queen's Club Championships, an ATP 500 Event.During this conversation, we dive deep into all topics related to making doubles better.Rule changesSchedulingMarketing & social mediaWhat the tours & tournaments can doWhat the players can and probably should doRoadblocks facing doublesand more...My hope is that this episode generates more conversations that lead to positive change for doubles. I think there is a larger market for doubles if it's delivered and broadcasted the right way.You can do your part by watching doubles on TV, engaging with doubles content on social media, and if you're a player, building your own brand by engaging with fans and media to get your story out there.Follow Jamie on InstagramFollow Jamie on XLearn more about JamieATP TourWikipedia-----**Join the #1 Doubles Strategy Newsletter for Club Tennis Players** New doubles strategy lessons weekly straight to your inbox**Become a Tennis Tribe Member**Tennis Tribe Members get access to premium video lessons, a monthly member-only webinar, doubles strategy Ebooks & Courses, exclusive discounts on tennis gear, and more.Learn More & Sign Up Here**Other Free Doubles Content**Serve Strategy CheatsheetReturn Strategy CheatsheetServe Strategy 101 - Video Course
Jamie Murray and John Peers are both multiple-time Grand Slam Doubles Champions. They reached the semifinals of the 2025 Dallas Open where I spoke with them after their quarterfinal win. They reflect on their crazy comeback victory from a set and 2-6 down in the 2nd set tiebreaker. By ATP standards, this is a huge deficit. We talk about resilience, adjustments related to the match, and more. How they climbed out of their big hole in the tiebreakerInsights on mental strength and key strategic adjustmentsAdvice for club players on maintaining focus during tense situations and 10-point tiebreakersReflections on the Dallas Open experienceHow to make doubles more popularI also spoke with Jamie for a longer podcast coming soon.Follow Jamie Murray on InstagramFollow John Peers on InstagramFollow the Dallas Open on Instagram-----**Join the #1 Doubles Strategy Newsletter for Club Tennis Players** New doubles strategy lessons weekly straight to your inbox**Become a Tennis Tribe Member**Tennis Tribe Members get access to premium video lessons, a monthly member-only webinar, doubles strategy Ebooks & Courses, exclusive discounts on tennis gear, and more.Learn More & Sign Up Here**Other Free Doubles Content**Serve Strategy CheatsheetReturn Strategy CheatsheetServe Strategy 101 - Video Course

Gigi Salmon looks back at the career of Sir Andy Murray - from the grit, to the glory and onto his legacy. Hear from Andy and Jamie Murray, as well as Serena Williams, Emma Raducanu, Tim Henman and Martina Navratilova. You can also watch this documentary on the Sky Sports tennis channel. We'll be back with some very special Sky Sports Tennis podcasts from the US Open soon.
The Andy Murray Wimbledon farewell ceremony has happened and boy was it emotional. There wasn't a dry eye in Centre Court as Jamie Murray and Andy Murray bowed out in the doubles first round. After the contest Sue Barker returned for one last time to lead a tribute to Andy Murray that featured Novak Djokovic, Venus Williams, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer. Joel asked Andy what could be his final ever press conference question at Wimbledon and Andy reflected on this tribute verses THAT ceremony at the Australian Open in 2019.Elsewhere Novak Djokovic's movement was tested and the knee injury looked bothersome but he survived in four sets against Jacob Fearnley. Cam Norrie won the battle of the Brits and knocked out British number 1 Jack Draper and Katie Boulter was also upset by Harriet Dart on No.1 Court in a final set tiebreak. In lighter moments we hear from Danielle Collins who did a 'bag check in press' (wear your SPF) and Taylor Fritz who aired out his on court drama with Arthur Rinderknech when he told him to have a "safe flight home" after the infamous Roland Garros shushing incident of 2023.They look ahead to a wet weather day on day 5 of the Championships and make predictions as to who will make it to R4 all before catching an 11pm Caroline Wozniacki press conference to end the day.SOCIALSFollow us on Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, plus email the show tennisweeklypod@gmail.com.MERCHPurchase Tennis Weekly Merch through our Etsy store including limited edition designs by Krippa Design where all proceeds go towards the podcast so we can keep doing what we do!REVIEWS***Please take a moment to rate and review the show on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or wherever you get your pods. It's grass court season and Liz and Michelle are excited for Wimbledon! In this episode, they are joined by tennis powerhouse Judy Murray to talk about her career reinvention as a fiction writer. Judy, (mum to champions Sir Andy Murray and Jamie Murray) has built an incredible career around tennis coaching and reimagined herself countless times including competing on Strictly Come dancing with Anton du Beke, appearing on Masterchef and winning the Slingsby Golf Academy to compete in the Pro-Am at the PGA Tour. Judy chats about women's safeguarding and inappropriate coach/student relationships in tennis, the future of Emma Radacanu, Judy's new golf hobby, the fantastic results of her non-surgical 'tweakment' and Liz & Michelle reminisce about playing tennis in the street growing up. They discuss her new thriller The Wild Card and how it's never to late to chase your dreams. KEY TAKEAWAYS Women in sports are always playing catch up, Judy felt like it was her duty to speak up for women and advocate for them in a world that is so often centred around the male perspective Judy never set out to become a tennis coach, she began working as support help at a club in her free time and the rest is history! Judy's book The Wild Card has a great underlying message about the power within relationships The pressure put on young tennis players is immense, Emma Raducanu has had a particularly difficult time through the media, receiving a lot of criticism when she is so young and had a lot of challenges There is a lot of expectation on all tennis players, especially if they do well quickly. It's not just about playing the game but everything that surrounds that including fitness, practice, training, sponsorship deals and more A good infrastructure of support and means are essential in helping many sports people succee Judy's book isn't based on a specific person or occurrence but tackles the theme of power imbalance in sports and how coaches need to be properly vetted and players supported Having to manage through difficult times often builds a special form of resilience and mental toughness that can help individuals achieve highly Judy recently had a non-surgical facelift. It helped plump her skin up and improve the appearance of sun damage and aging Being in the public eye, Judy has always been scrutinised much more than her male peers on her appearance. BEST MOMENTS “I can't remember a summer I haven't sat down and watched Wimbledon on TV” “Most of the decision-makers in the tennis world are men” “Tennis is a mental game, it's about problem-solving within the game, understanding the psychological side of it, adjusting your tactics depending on whom you're playing” If you enjoyed this episode, please rate, and review it on your podcast platform.

Lucy and Eugene are joined by friend of the pod Tumaini Carayol aka The Mentor. This episode is all about Wimbledon 2022! We celebrate girls' doubles champion Angella Okutoyi who put Kenyan tennis on the map after becoming the first Grand Slam winner from the country. We also talk about the women's and men's finals, paying particular attention to Tunisia's Ons Jabeur and what her run means to Africa and the Arab world. From a Black Spin Global perspective, icons Serena and Venus Williams both competed – Serena in singles and Venus in mixed doubles with Jamie Murray. Was nice to see Venus at the Centre Court centenary celebrations alongside all the legends but Serena's absence did not feel right. We discuss. We give props to the wildly underrated Heather Watson, our guy Frances Tiafoe and the ever impressive Coco Gauff. Watson broke new ground at a Grand Slam after reaching the last 16 – she was also the last Brit standing in the women's draw. Tiafoe, who was 0-2 on grass coming in, also put in a good showing and reached the fourth round for the first time. Gauff reached the third round in singles but went all the way to semi-finals in mixed doubles with Jack Sock. Don't forget to subscribe and share your comments!

This week's podcast comes from the Monte-Carlo Country Club and is presented by Seb Lauzier. The programme includes the following content...STEFANOS TSITSIPAS WINNER'S INTERVIEW - Speaking to Seb Lauzier on courtGRIGOR DIMITROV ON HIS BACKHAND SLICE - 'Slice is a volatile shot and it's one of the first shots I actually learned, I think it's the first shot my dad taught me and I think especially for one-handers it's vital. Against any opponent, if you're able to find the right way of using it and putting the ball in the right spot, it really gives you an advantage to look at the right shot' CRAIG BOYNTON ON PLAYERS TRANSITIONING TO CLAY - ‘It would be like running on wood and now you have to skate. It usually takes a couple of weeks for most to feel comfortable and not even having to think about movement, just more in strategy and you'll see this as the clay court season progresses'JANNIK SINNER ON HIS WITHDRAWL IN INDIAN WELLS DUE TO BLISTERS - ‘Well it's the most frustrating thing, because the worst thing for me is to lose without competing. We try to find solutions in the best possible way so it's not going to happen anymore, but I'm happy right now that I don't feel anything, the body is good, the body is safe and let's see in the next couple of months if something happens and if not, we have to change'STAN WAWRINKA ON HIS GOALS FOR THE SEASON - ‘I don't have right now the goal for the end of my career because I'm far away from the level I want to be. I still need a few weeks and months to be feeling good on the court and I think by the end of the year I will know what I want to achieve or what I want to try to achieve before the end of my career'JUAN CARLOS FERRERO ON ALCARAZ'S DEVELOPMENT - ‘He's growing up match-by-match, but of course he's surprising me week-by-week because after very important things happen to him and this level that he's doing, he's handling very good and it seems like everything is normal to him and he tries to do things as normal as he can, but life is changing for him and then team, but the good thing is that I have a lot of experience of that'FEATURE ON DOUBLES FROM THE WORLD TENNIS CONFERENCE - Contributions from Jeff Coetzee, Wayne Bryan, Louis Cayer, Craig O'Shannessy, Rohan Bopanna, Joe Salisbury, Jamie Murray and Luke Jensen

Welcome to another podcast and this week, although the tennis news out of the UK has been up and down, we are sticking with the Brits. There's been good news for Andy Murray, the former world number one has scored a morale boosting win against old rival Rafael Nadal at the Mubadala World Tennis Championship in Abu Dhabi. Great also to see Nadal back in action. We'll hear from Andy later in the programme and we also hear from doubles player Neal Skupski, but we start this time with Andy's brother, Jamie Murray who's had a frustrating week. It is no mean feat putting on any tennis event and as Tournament Director and player he would have been looking forward to the Battle of the Brits more than anyone until it was postponed on Friday, the latest sporting victim of Covid 19. The tournament will be pushed back to 2022, which, on the plus side, gives him even more time to pick up ideas and tips from other events, which is exactly what he was doing when he spoke with Barry Cowan at the recent Nitto ATP Finals in Turin.
Former world number six Wayne Ferreira, coach of America's Frances Tiafoe speaks to reporter Mike Cation, we're back in the Tennis United camp talking doubles with Jamie Murray and Bethanie Mattek-Sands, Dan Evans looks back on 2021 and Jill Craybas interviews the champion of Miami earlier this year Hubert Hurkacz, who's already beaten Australia's Alexei Popyrin in Indian Wells.
