Prepare yourself for an extraordinary journey as we sit down with pop sensation, Kinsley, on this episode of Music Junkies. Kinsley, who wears many hats - a musician, an entrepreneur, and a beauty mogul, takes us on a whirlwind tour of her mesmerizing playlist, the stories behind her songs, and the transformative power of music in her life. From the heartbreak song born from a conversation with her ex to the anthem of self-love and acceptance as a black woman, Kinsley's music is a manifestation of her experiences and growth. We further plunge into Kinsley's creative world as she walks us through her music video-making process and her unwavering commitment to an all-black production team. With a dash of humor, she recounts the incident when she flashed the whole audience at the Best Bands 2022 show! From discussing her favorite soundtracks and concerts to her unique way of dealing with inattentive audience members, Kinsley's candid tales of navigating the music industry are both inspiring and enlightening. As Kinsley takes us deeper into her life as an artist, her admiration for Justin Bieber and his significant role in helping her find her voice weaves a fascinating narrative. She articulates the complexities of being an artist, the responsibility of having a voice, and her personal journey growing up in Hollywood. The episode concludes on a powerful note as Kinsley emphasizes the importance of embracing one's sexuality, the need for open conversations during intimate moments, and the healing power of breathwork and meditation. The best bands of the 60s is often a popular topic of discussion when old codgers get together. In this Camp Codger episode, we take a trip down memory lane to reminisce about our favorite bands and musical artists. We touch on the obvious great bands like the Beatles, the Beach Boys, and the Rolling Stones, but we also take side trips during our musical journey and recall other, lesser-known favorite artists. Richard reminded us of the prolific Leon Russell while Gary brought back one of his favorite bands, Blood, Sweat & Tears. Randy was spot-on when he added The Kinks to our list of great bands. It's impossible to decide which of the best bands of the 60s is really the "best". We love them all and relish the thought that we grew up during an incredible era of influential music. Would you like to hear when the old codgers are rambling on about something else? Subscribe to our weekly Camp Codger newsletter to receive an email notification each time we publish a new episode. There is something unexplainable that happens within us when we reach out and help someone whose needs are greater than our own.” Those words, said by Jared Hiner, the founder of “Kammy's Kause.” On this week's Life. Style. Live! Podcast, it's Jared's 20-year-old daughter, Kammy, taking center stage. At just a couple months old, Kammy was diagnosed with an extremely rare disorder called 4-P Minus—which means having a fourth chromosome. Now, there's an upcoming fundraiser called “Kammy's Kause” that's said to be the heartbeat of support, progress and love. And today, we're sharing all you need to know to join the worthy mission. *** Special Guest Alert!!! *** Mike and Nick tackle a different topic - bringing to light some of their fav bands that are decidedly NOT of the mainstream!!! If these bands were a play, it wouldn't Broadway or even "Off-Broadway"...more like, OFF OFF OFF Broadway in the basement of a Knights of Columbus play! Ok, maybe that is exaggerating, but they are bands that are important to a smaller group of fans. We will be joined by guitarist ADAM PHILLIPS (ex-Pro Pain, Indorphine) in the discussion! Join us!!! We also give a NAMM 2022 recap and also feature our regular segments including: - Preview of Friday's releases - DIS-Covered and of course... - THIS SONG SUCKS!!!

This week on the Country Music Media Podcast, how the pandemic has exposed the troubles in forming, marketing and maintaining a band. Nearly a dozen country bands or duos have underwent changes, quit, disappeared or floundered since early 2020. There's a reason for it and it underscores why moving forward bands are a bad bet. Billy argues that just one band active today will make the Hall of Fame and no band that starts in the next 10 years will come close.

In this episode, Ted and Andy are once again recording remotely, although this time it's logistics and not pandemic related. Most of the episode consists of Andy trying to explain the theme of the week which is simply this: A popular song from one of your favorite bands, but you think that particular song is garbage (See how easy that was, Andy?). They do cleanse the palate with a suggestion of an excellent, "lesser-known" song by those same bands. Along the way, Ted starts a new job, they introduce the "knee-cam" to the Patreon, and they invite everyone to play fantasy football with them. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/largelyunlikable/message

Madison Violet Hops In The Chair While On Tour!Aired Wednesday, 7 August 2019, 12:00 PM EST / 9:00 AM PSTOn March 8th 2019, Madison Violet released their latest album “Everything’s Shifting”. The album is a heartfelt examination of how memory can splinter a heart, how loss shapes perspective and how sometimes, no matter how hard you try, you can’t have love without regret. It is an album to be listened to on the open road, with the windows rolled down: a love letter to their fans, from two wanderers who continue to follow the melodies wherever they lead.We are so excited to have them in the chair and hear the stories around the songs and their career.THEIR FIRST MUSIC VIDEO “TELL ME” HAS ALREADY HIT 1,000,000 VIEWS!About Lisa MacIsaac and Brenley MacEachernAfter 20 years together, Juno nominated singer-songwriting duo, Madison Violet, are as much wanderers as they are musicians. It is a career filled with endless roads stretching into the horizon, winding through changing landscapes, each kilometer traveled carrying with it the promise of inspiration. Perhaps that is the secret of what has made Madison Violet such an enduring band. Because with each new town, each new venue, their curiosity grows, their love of music deepens, their desire to push musical boundaries expands. It is believed that the spark that ignited Madison Violet’s irrepressible curiosity came from an unlikely source; while sitting in Brenley’s grandmother’s kitchen in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, filled to bursting with family, friends, instruments (and maybe even a foe or two), and miles from their adopted home of Toronto, Ontario, two musicians looked at each over the flickering light of the old wood stove and knew that theirs would be an unconventional journey. Inspired by their heritage, emboldened by their vision, Lisa MacIsaac and Brenley MacEachern decided that they would create a sound that would have it’s roots in their past while continually exploring new sounds. From the beginning, the multi-instrumentalists have carried authenticity with them like a talisman, writing all of their own music and lyrics, believing that the best way to connect to their audiences was to treat them like old friends sharing a secret and a smile. As vocalists they have an innate ability to break your heart, slyly knowing that their soaring harmonies will mend it, often all in the span of one song. The shared belief in themselves and their fearlessness to follow their dreams did eventually pay off and accolades and awards soon became synonymous with Madison Violet; including a Juno nomination, a Canadian Folk Music Award for Best Vocal Group Album of the Year and a Critic’s Choice Award from Country Music People’s Magazine. Their songs have been featured in the notorious music magazine MOJO’s Top 10 Playlist, and received a mass of acclaim from outlets such as the BBC, the CBC, Maverick Magazine and NPR, and have earned the duo the Grand Prize in the Maxell John Lennon Song Writing Contest (which was voted on by a panel of distinguished artists including Elton John, Tim McGraw, Black Eyed Peas, Fergie, John Legend, Enrique Iglesias and Mary J.Blige). Madison Violet were on Germany’s WDR’s list of ‘Best Bands of All Time’ and with a bit of a departure from their rootsy sound, their single ‘These Ships’ was released in 2014 on one of the largest dance labels in the U.S., Ultra Records, garnering over 1,000,000 plays on Spotify. Madison Violet has 9 studio albums to their credit including the new Christmas classic “Sleigh Bells in the Snow” featuring their friend and collaborator Ron Sexsmith, singing on Frosty the Snowman. For more info, visit: https://www.madisonviolet.com/
