Thyroid Talk with Dr. Angela Mazza, DORecorded: 4-19-2024SHOW NOTES EPISODE 30GLP-1 DRUGSHost: Dr. Angela Mazza, DOCo-host: Dawn SheffieldI'm Dr. Angela Mazza, D.O., a thyroid, endocrine, and metabolism specialist with a private practice in Central Florida. My goal forthis podcast is to define and demystify the thyroid gland, and thyroid-related medical conditions. By providing information in aneasy-to-understand format, we hope to help patients better understand the ways in which their bodies work, and to help them thrive. My goal is to help us live more fulfilling lives by taking control of our health, to feel our best.I do this podcast to provide life-saving education and encourage patients to see a doctor in time to prevent or minimize damage. That's deeply fulfilling. I enjoy helping folks understand how all aspects of their lives are tied to both thyroid and overall health. That's why I went into endocrinology. It's a medical art that combines science with the study of our lives—and all that theyencompass. Here's some of what we covered, not necessarily in this order: What is GLP-1? What does it do? How does our body make it? What are the class of meds called GLP-1 agonists? Who may be a good candidate for GLP-1s? Who is not a good candidate for GLP-1s? What are the potential benefits and risks of these medications? And best of all, we learned that we CAN impact our thyroid health! My book, Thyroid Talk: An Integrative Guide to Optimal Thyroid Health, is available on Amazon. Doco came ready to pod today! This week was something similar to what one could call th3rapy and damn did we need it. Just to update the listeners on the structure of Th3 Us3d podcast, we wont be talking about current events, hip hop happenings or sports unless the topics form organically. Scoli opens the pod asking which region has the worst accents. Lovelace provides a hot take as his weekly mission. What's your medical etiquette? Do you prefer a male or female staff? The guys give their weekly updates and Scoli is still claiming to be bald on purpose. @16 min we have a conversation about securing your DNA. Reach out to the guys or email TWIYPOD@gmail.com if you want to submit questions or complete the homework.

Lovelace encourages Doco to speak out about his journey and a great conversation was had. @21 min- Transition to Weekend plans and Wrestlemania. In true Used podcast fashion we get distracted by The Rock and his bad movies and Scoli tries to break down his IMDB...This is nasty work by the way. Doco has never been to a luxury movie theater. Thats not crazy to you?@49 min We start the discussion of the legendary Soulja vs Nip$ey Hussle.

Famed USA Video, Film, Doco and TV Director, Mark Pellington joins INXS: Access all Areas to dive deep on his fantastic video for 1993 INXS single “Beautiful Girl” amidst many other broader conversations. Having gotten his start via MTV in 1983, Mark was at the forefront of when the video clip explosion was at the epicenter of the watching audience zeitgeist. Working initially with artists such as Leonard Cohen, De La Soul and PM Dawn, it was his future work with Pearl Jam's “Jeremy” video that brought Mark's unbridled talents into the forefront of the music industry heavy hitters. As such, he went on a peerless run Directing for U2 (One), Public Enemy (Shut em Down), REM (Drive), Alice In Chains (Rooster) plus Springsteen, Keane, The Flaming Lips and obviously our beloved INXS. Interestingly, it was INXS that would bring him his sole Grammy nomination eventually losing out to Peter Gabriel's “Steam” video (Urghhhh). Mark generously opens up how personal grief informed much of creative ideas and we get to dive deep on his work with other artists, feature films and his love of the Australian music industry culminating a cliffhanger moment regarding INXS' lack of recognition by the Rock Hall of Fame Committee that shall leave you clamouring for an early release of Part Two. So sit back and enjoy the iconic words of Mark Pellington. https://www.inxsaccessallareas.com/

If you thought the leaky building crisis was a thing of decades past, John Gray and Roger Levie want you to think again. The pair were the heads of their respective body corporates when they had to deal with their own leaky building issues. Their experience would eventually see them form HOBANZ - the Home Owners and Buyers Association - to provide guidance and support to others in similar situations. John and Roger filmed a documentary series in 2021 called A Living Hell: Apartment Disasters and a second season has just been released. In it, they continue their investigation into building problems: how they're being remediated, the toll it has on owners and residents - and concerningly, the defects that are still cropping up. John and Roger join Bryan to talk about some of the solutions and examples of what's worked well overseas, including a newly-created regulatory body in New South Wales, which came into being in December.
