The focal point and climax for the story for Jesus is his death, burial, and resurrection—it is the story of our redemption. But as important as that is, Jesus came to do more than that, to show us what true and successful humanity looks like. In this series, we go Beyond Redemption to see how Jesus shows us to live well as men and women created in the image of God. In our final week we get a lesson on humanity from an unexpected place—the little children.

Welcome to Episode 145, 'Beyond Redemption: Unraveling the Controversy of Euthanasia for Addiction.' In this episode, we're exploring an emergent and potentially contentious issue: the possibility of Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) for addiction. This exploration takes us to a crossroads of recovery, life-preservation, and assisted death, raising profound moral, ethical, and legal questions. Our discussion is informed by Tristan Hopper's thought-provoking piece in the National Post, titled 'One third of Canadians fine with prescribing assisted suicide for homelessness.' Join us as we probe the complexities of this nascent topic, which might significantly shape the future of addiction treatment. In our roles as addiction medicine professionals, we often grapple with the reality that our best efforts may not always yield the desired outcomes for some individuals. This only bolsters our commitment to relentlessly push for improvement and innovation in our approaches. The concept of introducing MAiD into these challenging circumstances opens up a whole new realm of debate. It presents an ethical paradox: our roles in promoting recovery and preserving life could potentially intersect with facilitating suicide. We acknowledge the deeply personal decisions some individuals make to end their own lives, and understand the enormous ethical implications of balancing the roles of recovery facilitation and potentially aiding in suicide. Our initial inclination is that MAiD should typically be linked with terminal illnesses, rather than being extended to mental health conditions like addiction. Yet, this is a budding discussion, and we're here to delve into this exploration and ongoing conversation TABLE OF CONTENTS: 0:00 - Former Addict's Thoughts on Euthanasia for Addiction 0:52 - Introduction to Topic 3:03 - Video: Tristan Hooper, National Post 4:56 - Understanding the Current MAiD Process 10:04 - Dr. Wip Addresses Limitations in Addiction Medicine 13:05 - Is Addiction a Treatable Condition? 16:21 - Maintaining Hope in Addiction Recovery 21:02 - Discussion: Slippery Slope Phenomenon and Patient Capacity 26:35 - Future Predictions: Is the Progression Unstoppable? There's a bit of Sodom and Gomorrah in all our hearts. The point of this story in the Bible is to show the depth of depravity of the human condition. Unless we have a deep understanding of our sin, we will not have a deep experience of grace.
Many of our problems come about through not bravely saying what we think to God. Our fallen natures make us hesitate to be honest with God because we're afraid of judgment. Only grace and the love of Jesus can persuade us that we can have a relationship with God.

Every show Kevin opens the crypt to exhume and dissect from his personal collection; an artist, album, or collection of tunes from the broad spectrum of rock, punk, and metal. Robert is forced to test his endurance and provide feedback, as he has no idea what he will be subjected to every week. Welcome to episode 042 of Choose Film: A Reel Retrospective podcast. Grab your sunscreen and flip flops as Rebecca and Gary are joined by actor Jamie B. Chambers to discuss Danny Boyle's underrated film - The BeachSynopsis Richard (Di Caprio) is an American backpacking through Asia with a handful of friends from Europe. While in Bangkok, he meets a mad Scotsman who calls himself Daffy Duck (Robert Carlyle). Shortly before Mr. Duck kills himself, he gives Richard a crude map to a place in Thailand that he claims is paradise on earth: beautiful, unspoiled, and uninhabited. For lack of anything better to do, Richard and his companions try to locate the spot, which, after a dangerous and taxing journey, takes them to a beach as beautiful as Duck said it would be. Richard and his friends settle in, but before long they discover that they are not alone; a large group of fellow travelers has already dug themselves in, and they have established a community with the same social evils that Richard was hoping to leave behind. Just as important, there is an army of natives who grow marijuana in the nearby hills and do not appreciate the presence of these visitors.Links in conversation Instagram: @jamiebchambersTwitter: @jamiechambers_Website: www.jamiechambers.co.ukWilson Easter Egghttps://www.reddit.com/r/eastereggs/comments/kemt1v/cast_away_wilson_easter_egg_in_danny_boyles_the/Creative Recommendations Breathe | Lockdown Short Film - Sarah Granthttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kvas91k8WjwJust Get A Real Jobhttps://justgetarealjobpodcast.podbean.comThe Critical Drinkerhttps://efap-podcast.fandom.com/wiki/The_Critical_DrinkerRoom 16https://www.imdb.com/title/tt13587192/Jamie's BioJamie is an actor, performer and film producer from West London. Wherever you are in your walk towards God, whether you are a person working on your individual faith or a ministry working out God's work in a group, we all need hope. Yet, it is often in the darkest times, that we lose that hope...like the Israelites of the Old Testament who were freed from Egyptian slavery, but were too afraid to enter Promised Land. That is what this podcast is about, finding and keeping the hope until we are redeemed. We often assume that the heroes we look up to, like our Founding Fathers, were full of hope and super confident. In reality, they had to develop that faith. They had to develop the confidence that even if the world around them was dark, scary, and confusing. They had to fight with the confidence that God will handle the rest. In this episode, Brad and Pastor Sam take a few moments over tea, to explore how we can develop that powerful faith in our lives. You'll hear how the Old Testament story of redemption and obedience played a big role in the founding of the United States...and how that influence is with us, even to this day. You'll also learn about the role of obedience, service, and patience in becoming the kind of leader that God calls us to be. They'll cover questions like: How do I develop a stronger faith? What's the “unpardonable” sin? What makes us lose faith? Can anyone (even with a bad past) be redeemed? How do I become a better servant of God? Is the Bible still relevant in our government? What kind of leadership should we be looking for? The Starling Tribune: An Unofficial Arrow TV Show Fan Podcast
Starling Tribune - Season 4 Edition – Episode 4: Beyond Redemption The Official Arrow Podcast of the Gonna Geek Network With Neil off this week Chris and Stargate Pioneer brave the Blab.im storm and thrown down over this week's Arrow episode. We give our feelings on the new Arrowcave/Quiver/Lair 5.0 (is it really 5.0?). We also talk about the AMAZING performances by Paul Blackthorne and Stephen Amell. And Captain Lance considering shooting Sara? Very powerful indeed. Now that Sara is loose is she on her own? Is she a captive of Damian Darhk? Is Thea her objective? We update who we think is in the grave and totally admit that Arrow is completely misleading us. Or are they? SP kind of called one! The Lair 5.0 is not in the basement of City Hall BUT it is in the basement of Oliver Queen's campaign headquarters! We loved the callbacks this episode including P-A-S-S-W-O-R-D. We tell what exactly Felicity is not wearing. We ogle over the fight scenes (again) as well as the trick arrows. WE GET A SHIRTLESS OLLIE SALMON LADDER SCENE! And the flashbacks are predictable but worth the time to watch anyway. Basically a job worth applauding the inexperienced Director/Writing crew (even though there were a few “plot requires” moments in the episode). Oliver needs a bit better armor based on the last two weeks. When is Damian going to find out Oliver is The Green Arrow? And what's in Damian's box? Caller Adam brings up the interns that are now working Oliver's Campaign and what “Ghosts”' may be among them.
