We are in the midst of the NBA regular season, but the New York Knicks are still making moves as we speak. The Knicks needed to have 14 players at minimum on their roster to meet the NBA requirement. They had until today to finalize those deals so they wouldn't get hit with a penalty and the Knicks just did that by finalizing deals for Matt Ryan & Ariel Hukporti. But in a shocking move, NY added another guard in Boo Buie on a two-way deal to the team. NY arguably has enough guards on the team, so signing Buie now is a bit confusing but adds shooting NY has been looking for. The main aspect to look at here is the way New York structured the contracts for Hukporti & Ryan. Leon Rose and this Knicks front office continues to cook and add players that we need without hurting us in the process... Troy Mahabir breaks all of this down! Locked On Hoosiers - Daily Podcast On Indiana Hoosiers Football & Basketball
On today's episode of Locked On Hoosiers, Jacob Goins previews this weekend's game between the Indiana Hoosiers and Northwestern Wildcats, where he believes the season is on the line. Northwestern will be without one if its top scorers in Ty Berry, can the Hoosiers take advantage on the defensive end and focus more on Boo Buie? Offensively, Mike Woodson's squad should have a major size advantage down low. Then, we look at keys to the game for the Hoosiers as they look to keep the season alive. While this would not be a Quad 1 win for Indiana, Northwestern is still a NCAA Tournament team in the latest projections, and this would be a big win for Indiana's resume. Kel'el Ware and Malik Reneau have to have big days underneath the basket, and the Hoosiers have to slow down the shooting of the Wildcats. Finally, Indiana will have a top-20 player in the 2025 class in the building for the game on Sunday for an unofficial visit. Mikel Brown, the 16th overall recruit in the class, has an outstanding offer list that includes Kansas, Auburn, Texas, and dozens more. This is an important day for Indiana to show why players like him should come to Bloomington, and how they can help turn the program around. Wednesday presents us a good 52 game slate with matchups from the SEC, Big East, Big Ten, and more. The marquee matchup of the night is the Iron Bowl on the hardwood: Alabama at Auburn. Can Coach Bruce Pearl and Auburn get their revenge? Can Coach Buzz Williams and Texas A&M avoid a disastrous loss to winless Missouri? Also, Georgia and Mississippi State face each other and both are looking to stop losing skids. The Big Ten showcases a couple of solid games too. Wisconsin looks to bounce back after a tough loss to Purdue. The Badgers will take on Michigan as memories of Coach Juwan Howard's slap float through the air. Then star guards Keisei Tominaga and Boo Buie square off in a battle of surprising Big Ten teams. Providence has lost two games in a row and look to stop their slide when Creighton comes to town. Will Baylor Scheierman, Trey Alexander, and Creighton keep their own set of back to back losses from happening? Earlier in the night Villanova attempts to rebound from a slow start in conference play. The Wildcats will have to do it inside the Cintas Center against Xavier. This season the Musketeers only home Big East loss has been to UConn. The College Basketball Experience give out College Basketball picks for January 10th, best bets, and discuss all of the day's storylines and more on the episode. ===================================================== Support us by supporting our partners Gametime code SGPN - Download the Gametime app, create an account, and use code SGPN for $20 off your first purchase - https://gametime.co/ Underdog Fantasy code SGPN - 100% Deposit Match up to $100 - https://play.underdogfantasy.com/p-sgpn Discuss with fellow degens on Discord - https://sg.pn/discord SGPN Merch Store - https://sg.pn/store Download The Free SGPN App - https://sgpn.app Check out SGPN.TV ADVERTISE with SGPN Interested in advertising? For the second consecutive season Purdue came to Welsh-Ryan arena sporting the #1 ranking. For the second consecutive season Northwestern knocked them off their perch. For the second consecutive season the students swarmed the floor after the final horn to celebrate. Tonight we bask in the glory of what may be the greatest game a Northwestern Basketball player has ever played in the Purple and White as Boo Buie went off for 31 points, 9 assists and 0 turnovers. Oh, and did we mention that NU Football is on their way to Vegas?
Hard-fought game for #1 Purdue University, S/O to Boo Buie (31 & 9) and Northwestern for their impressive performance! Zach Edey's 35 points and 14 rebounds were outstanding but 17 turnovers for Purdue led to 20 points for Northwestern and that was the game. Keep your heads up Boilermakers, it is a LONG season! #PurdueBasketball #GoBoilers
Chris Collins was on the hot seat. If his team didn't vastly improve from the year before, he could be out as head basketball coach at Northwestern. Instead, he guided them to their second trip to the NCAA Tournament and was named coach of the year! But Northwestern isn't Duke where Jon Scheyer is the head coach. Scheyer broke Collins' scoring record at Glenbrook North High School in suburban Chicago. Then Collins helped coach him at Duke where he was Mike Krzyzewski's associate. They would win a national title in 2010.Collins has a challenge this season with six new players but he has four returning from the squad that made the Big Dance last March. One is Boo Buie who averaged 17 points a game. Collins says this team has to be hungry to pursue accomplishments with this team.In part two of this podcast, Collins also remembers how he was a ball boy for the Chicago Bulls when his father, Doug was coaching them. Collins also enjoys the fact he is the 8th person who attended Northwestern to appear on this podcast.Tell me a story I don't know is sponsored by Mr.Duct. ( mrductcleaning.com).
