Things Discussed: We believe MSU is likely planting diseases in Brian's kid's school. Michigan State preview: They can't shoot; they're 354th (I was wrong on the pod) out of 364 teams in 3P%. But caveat: Jase Richardson can shoot and has been playing more, Frankie Fiddler career-wise can shoot, Fears is at 35% and Kohler is at 34%. It's Hollomon and Carr and Akins who give them that profile, but when only one is on the court they're fine. They are physical. Purdue is physical too but MSU is that and DIRTY. MSU vs Purdue: great coaching job. Strategy was switching, throwing guard after guard on Braden Smith, getting the Purdue backcourt trapped down low and running on rebounds. Also got Breslin calls on Trey Kaufman-Renn. Szymon Zapala is the dirtiest player to come through the Big Ten since Brad Davison and whinier than his coach. MSU's process involves getting called (Zapala has 6 fouls/40) but they roll four-deep a the five when you include Kohler. Key: Do not turn the ball over against MSU. They're excellent in transition, in the half-court vs zone they have to take pullup 2s and go for rebounds. Tschetter's rapid elbow: he knew the head was there. By the way: change the wedgie rule. Wedgie should be defense's ball OOB. Sam gonna die on the hill that Bill Laimbeer was a "physical" player. He was dirty. Seth's quick study on teams that get more home calls (based on the idea that it's normal to get about 1 free throw per missed shot at the rim vs top-100 competition, and teams get about 10% more fouls at home): Purdue gets the worst whistle in the league, Michigan is 2nd, MSU gets the best whistle and at home it's off the charts. Does Dusty need to work the refs better? I think he just needs to get to know them better. Michigan strategy vs State: Wolf needs to take advantage of Kohler, Goldin needs to give it back to Zapala. Illinois? They shoot a lot of threes and go for rebounds. Craig's Baseball update: They're very good! 4-0 with an extra innings win vs #2 Virginia and wins vs Rice, Villanova and Stetson in the Puerto Rico Challenge. Jonathan Kim and Mitch Voight are hammering the ball, getting great pitching from Gavin DeVooght, David Lally and Kurt Barr, who've given up zero ER in 17-1/3 innings. Next is TCU, KSU, and Arkansas in Arlington.

This is a recording of their very first introduction which was taped during the pre-production phase of making SEX LOVE VENICE.I love it when the actors who are cast not only have amazing chemistry together, but actually become friends in real life. It makes the entire process more enjoyable. Because this was the first time Daniel and Suzanna met (even if just over the internet), it was a lot of fun to talk about the upcoming shoot in Italy, what got them started in acting, and witness their chemistry together (which ended up to be dynamite in the film!). I hope you enjoy the conversation.Get the Books:Filmmaking ConfidentialAccessing CreativityHow to Find InvestorsWatch the Films: DIKENGA Official Websites: SteveBalderson.comInstagram @dikengaTwitX: @sbaldersonFacebook
Things Discussed: Hoops: We are still fascinated by Mick Cronin, even as he turns a top-25 road win into just another bottom-of-the-B1G team. Wolf back next year? Musselman clearly trying to talk NBA into existence, but NBA is listening. Big Ten MBB looks like a Michigan-Michigan State race with Purdue and Illinois on the 2nd tier, though Illinois can beat anybody—they're weird because they rely on the three. Brian: MSU is a better shooting team than they look: Akins is at least, and they hit free throws. Craig: MSU is really good, unbeatable when Izzo can browbeat the refs into letting them be handsy. Counter: they don't take many threes, with three primary players on the court non-shooters: using Jaxon Kohler as a shooter, using Jeremy Fears as a shooter, Xavier Booker as a shooter. Booker is a frustrating guy, more evidence that Izzo doesn't develop guys. It's also weird that Frankie Fidler hasn't been that good, and Calipari turned Johnnell Davis into a bench player. Shoutout to Dusty May, and what he's done with Nimari Burnett. Seth: he's not the 5-star Texas Tech thought they were getting; he's the guy Alabama thought they were getting. It's about anticipation; the game is coming to him so slowly. Brian: He's Bobby Hull! We eat crow for saying the two big lineup won't work—in our defense… https://twitter.com/EvanMiya/status/1879650374128447983 During break: Effort to bring Brandon Graham to Michigan; now he's going to keep playing. The guys do math. Speaking of Eat Crow: Wink Martindale NFL interest? Sam says they'll have to pay him; Seth says someone will because he's too good of an idea for an NFL team: NYG are 28th in DVOA and blitzy/1-high again with out him, meanwhile he's beating OSU with QQH. He's the guy who invented the most popular defense in the league, regardless if people want to claim Mac and Minter's defenses are "Fangio-style." But they're going to have to commit to him: he's not taking a pay cut. Michigan would have to put an extension in front of him as well.

GDP Script/ Top Stories for November 8th Publish Date: November 8th From the BG AD Group Studio Welcome to the Gwinnett Daily Post Podcast. Today is Friday, November 8th and Happy Birthday to Margaret Mitchel. 11.08.24 - BIRTHDAY – MARGARET MITCHELL*** I'm Keith Ippolito and here are your top stories presented by Gwinnett KIA Mall of Georgia. 1. Back Home: Will Witherspoon in Familiar Spot as Berkmar Coach 2. Gwinnett Educators Nominated As Hidden Heroes 3. Suited Seniors Initiative Provides High School Students With Professional Attire All of this and more is coming up on the Gwinnett Daily Post podcast, and if you are looking for community news, we encourage you to listen daily and subscribe! Break 1: 07.14.22 KIA MOG STORY 1: Back Home: Will Witherspoon in Familiar Spot as Berkmar Coach Berkmar High School has welcomed back alumnus Will Witherspoon as the new head coach of its boys' basketball team. Witherspoon, a former point guard for Berkmar's first state championship team, was hired in late summer. Principal Durrant Williams emphasized the hire as a "family" decision, valuing Witherspoon's deep ties to the school. Witherspoon, who previously coached at Walnut Grove, is excited to return and aims to re-engage alumni and instill a winning culture in a young team. His staff includes former assistants and his brother, Wesley. The community is eager to support Witherspoon's vision for the program. STORY 2: Gwinnett Educators Nominated As Hidden Heroes The Hidden Heroes nonprofit campaign, run by the Georgia Leadership Institute for School Improvement, recognizes impactful educators. In its fifth year, the campaign features four Gwinnett-based nominees: Cassie Bro, Yasirah Powers-Kouassi, Jamil Matthews, and Alexandra Schlechte. Leslie Hazle Bussey, CEO of the institute, highlights the campaign's role in honoring teachers' contributions and boosting gratitude for their work. Voting for the nominees is open until November 22, with winners announced on December 3, receiving cash prizes from sponsors like Georgia Power. More details and voting are available at the campaign's website. STORY 3: Suited Seniors Initiative Provides High School Students With Professional Attire The Suited Seniors Initiative, a collaboration between the Gwinnett County Public Library and the Duluth-Norcross Kiwanis Club, provides professional attire to high school seniors in Duluth and Norcross for interviews and internships. Founded by Duluth City Council member Shenée Johnson Holloway, the initiative aims to boost students' confidence and readiness for the professional world, regardless of financial background. Donations of professional clothing and financial contributions for dry cleaning and logistics are being sought. Drop-off locations include local libraries and businesses. More details are available at suitedseniors.com. We have opportunities for sponsors to get great engagement on these shows. Call 770.874.3200 for more info. We'll be right back Break 2: 08.05.24 OBITS_FINAL STORY 4: Who Will Be Mulberry's First Leaders? What We Know In the new city of Mulberry, four out of five City Council races were decided in a special election, with a runoff needed for District 5 between Doug Ingram and Michele Y. Sims. Ingram received 40.65% of the vote, while Sims got 33.97%. Incoming council members Tim Sullivan, Michael Coker, Kyle Shields, and Michael Rudnick won decisively, with Sullivan, Coker, and Rudnick securing over 70% of the votes in their respective districts. The new council will convene in January 2025, taking over from a transition team, and will select a mayor and establish the city government. STORY 5: Charitable giving part of end-of-year tax decisions As 2024 ends, many consider donating to charities for tax benefits. Dr. Benjamin Akins from Georgia Gwinnett College explains that while most people use the standard IRS deduction, itemizers can benefit more by donating, especially if their income rises due to bonuses or required minimum distributions from retirement accounts. Donor-advised funds (DAFs) offer a flexible way to donate and claim deductions. Donating appreciated stocks or property can also provide tax advantages. Akins advises verifying a charity's tax-deductible status and keeping records for deductions. He has extensive experience in tax law and nonprofit policy. Break 3: STORY 6: 'American Pickers' Is Coming To Georgia The documentary series "American Pickers" is set to film new episodes in Georgia this December. The show, which airs on the History Channel, follows expert pickers as they search for valuable antiques and unique stories. They are seeking leads on historically significant or rare items from private collections, not public venues like stores or museums. If you have a unique item to sell, you can contact them via phone, email, or their Facebook page. STORY 7: GET OUT THERE: 5 things to do this weekend in Gwinnett County — Nov. 8-10 Join the fun at Snellville Towne Green this Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. for a day filled with delicious food, live music, and a kids zone. Enjoy sample-sized dishes from vendors like Ionies Caribbean Kitchen, City BBQ, and more. Tickets are $1 each, available at the "Food tickets" booth. In our latest episode, Executive Editor Kara Hansell Keehan interviews lead author Dr. Michaela Patterson and first author Kaelin Akins (both at the Medical College of Wisconsin) along with expert Dr. Ana Vujic (University of Cambridge) about the new study by Akins et al. Given that the heart has limited regenerative potential, repairing damage to cardiomyocytes after a heart attack is particularly challenging. Cardioregeneration researchers worldwide are searching for potential targets that can stimulate cardiomyocyte proliferation and cardiac regeneration. However, because cardiomyocytes can undergo incomplete cell division, multinucleation, and polyploidization, it is difficult to study true cardiomyocyte proliferation. Akins et al. examined the effect of Runx1 on cardiomyocyte cell cycle during postnatal development and cardiac regeneration using cardiomyocyte-specific gain- and loss-of-function mouse models. Listen now to learn more about how the authors determined that Runx1 is sufficient but not required for cardiomyocyte cell cycle activation. Kaelin A. Akins, Michael A. Flinn, Samantha K. They detail the path that took them from the Appalachian foothills to the Kansas prairie and back again. They included lessons in generational transfer along the way. The couple shares what they expect from their cows, how they built their customer base and why they think it's so important to get involved in organizations that will help them protect their way of life. HOSTS: Mark McCully and Miranda Reiman GUESTS: Jason and Paige Pratt and their family operate Pratt Cattle Co. near Akins, Va., with Jason's parents C.W. and Shirley. When they married in 2011, they both brought cattle upbringings and advanced degrees in agriculture (Jason with his master's in ag business and Paige with her doctorate in animal breeding) to make their mark on the herd that had started as C.W.'s FFA project. They share responsibilities on the farm where their children Elizabeth and Garrett make up the next generation. The Final Four Is Not On The Schedule - A Michigan State Basketball Podcast.
December 30, 2023: Michigan State defeated the Indiana State Sycamores 87-75 in their final non-conference game of the season in what was the first rematch of the 1979 national championship game. Despite a blistering shooting performance from 3 for Indiana State, the Spartans pounded the Sycamores on the glass with over 45% offensive rebounding rate and 46 points in the paint. The domination on the boards was led by Mady Sissoko who snagged 12 including 4 on the offensive end. Akins only had 4 rebounds but they were all on the offensive glass. Finally, Hall pulled down 7 boards (3 offensive) and scored 18 points. Perhaps most importantly, Michigan State neutralized Indiana State's do-everything big man, Avila, who played only 18 minutes because of foul trouble. Are you looking for collegiate apparel including Spartan gear? There's only one place we recommend you go to get your MSU T-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts — Nudge Printing. (https://www.nudgeprinting.com) Nudge is owned and operated by Gabe and Brittany, two MSU alums. The business is operated out of Michigan and screen prints super high quality products. They also have a large assortment of apparel for other schools as well as stickers for your wall, car, or computer. If you have a home in Michigan you know the importance of clearing water efficiently away from your home off the roof. Unfortunately, the outdoor beauty of Michigan means you have to deal with leaves and debris that pile up in your gutters. Sometimes, those gutters also can't keep up with the rain or leave puddles by your foundation. If you live in the Grand Rapids area (Muskegon to Saugatuck to Rockford to Lowell) contact Kurt Stauffer at the Brothers that Just Do Gutters. (https://www.brothersgutters.com/grand-rapids-mi/). If you're anywhere in the metro Detroit area the Brothers have you covered too! (https://www.brothersgutters.com/metro-detroit-mi/). They are real professionals who will clean, repair, or replace your gutters and protect your home quickly and efficiently with friendly service. Mention Final Four to get 10% off your gutter work. Have you wondered why the world no longer looks clear out of your windows? Maybe you need a professional to clean them. There's no better option for your window cleaning than your neighborhood window cleaners at the Squeegee Squad. They clean residential, commercial, and high rise windows. Also, if you need power washing on your house, the Squeegee Squad will treat it with kid gloves with their gentle wash that uses low pressure and surfactants. You won't find a better team to care for the exterior or your house or business than the Squeegee Squad of Grand Rapids (https://squeegeesquad.com/locations/grand-rapids-mi/). “I still haven't processed it. I haven't celebrated at all, I had to go back to work and take care of my daughter. Actually, I woke her up from her nap to watch Josh win because I was like, ‘He might do it, so let's wake her up just so she will remember'... Even yesterday [at the 5th Avenue Mile] they had the camera on Josh and they replayed his last 200m and I still got goosebumps. It's been three weeks, so I don't know if I'll ever process it. I hear people say this and I know what they mean; it's like you just get humbled by it. You're like, ‘Man, that was really hard to do.'” Danny Mackey has been the coach of the Brooks Beasts since the team started in 2013 and can now say that he's the coach to a world champion after Josh Kerr's stunning 1500m victory in Budapest. The Beasts have put together a strong year with Nia Akins winning the U.S. indoor and outdoor 800m titles before finishing sixth in the World Championship final. Marta Freitas and Isiah Harris also competed at the World Championships. Henry Wynne is running strong with a fifth-place finish at USAs and then a 3:53.70 mile PR at Falmouth this summer. It's been a culmination of more than a decade of hard work, learning and adapting for coach Mackey and his meticulously scientific training perspective and approach. He's vocal about doing things the right way and not operating in any gray zone. You'll learn much more in this episode that goes beyond just the making of a world champion. A quick note before we start the interview, this has also been the most tragic and difficult year of Mackey's life. As reported by LetsRun.com, back in March, his fiancee died by suicide and he is now raising his five-month-old daughter on his own. He took a few days away from the team and coached remotely from the U.S. while the team was in Budapest. The pain and loss is still felt by Mackey and he's been resilient for his fellow coaching staff and athletes all along the way.
