Angela Kim is a professional figure skater, contortionist, aerialist, and Founder of Balanced Skaters. She is recognized for her versatility, but it's the blending of disciplines that sets her apart. We talk to Angela about her unique career, a comeback after double hip reconstruction, and how she's made a professional career on the ice and under the big top! Angela Kim is a Professional Figure Skater, Circus Artist, & Founder of Balanced Skaters. Angela comes from an eclectic background: she began skating at the age of 6 and competed until age 18. She's been performing ever since. She started her professional career back in 2000 with Ice Theatre of New York, Inc.® and has held principal positions for Holiday on Ice, Disney on Ice, Royal Caribbean, Art on Ice, and Cirque du Soleil since then. Her long-standing success stems from years of experience working with the body in many different disciplines. She discovered circus arts in 2006, and has been studying traditional Mongolian contortion and aerial acrobatics for over a decade. During this time, she also opened and co-owned a successful pilates studio called Studio Blue in Portland, Oregon, where she began to develop the Balanced Skaters program. After several years of coaching and running her studio, she began mixing circus with figure skating, putting her on the map as one of the few pioneering skaters to mix disciplines. In 2015 Angela received her certification as an Functional Range Conditioning (FRC) mobility specialist. She began coaching full-time on and off the ice in Oakland, CA, and opened her second pilates studio, Pilates Loft Oakland. After 2 years of being away from performing, she received an offer from Cirque du Soleil to perform as an inline skater and aerialist in their new creation, Volta. During her time in Cirque, she continued to coach as well. She was asked to teach for Acrobatic Arts and was thrilled to be a part of a program that helped young dancers build strong, capable, and healthy bodies. Angela saw a disconnect in the skating world and wanted to make a larger impact in reaching broader skating communities. She teamed up with Acrobatic Arts to create Balanced Skaters. Knowbody, an amazing hip hop dancer from Sacramento, CA. He has represented crews such as Press PLAY, Flexible Flave, Fallen Kings, Academy of THUGS, Second Nature, and Peace Makers, and now the owner of The GREATHOUE OF DANCE. This guy is one of the most musical dancers I know and has taught countless dancers that have gone on to appear in large productions with the Jabbawockees and Cirque Du Soliel, and in music videos with artists such as Bruno Mars. You guys, I’m gonna use a word that I don’t think I’ve ever used before to describe a guest. Are you ready? Debonair. That’s right, today’s guest, Jeremy Kushnier, is best described as… debonair.....He’s handsome and charming and has one of those, like, gorgeous deep voices. And he’s funny and humble and is just one of those guys who has great insightful stories and ideas who you could just talk to for hours.Anyway, Jeremy made his Broadway debut in the starring role of Ren McCormick in the 1998 production of "Footloose"—the story, by the way, of how he got that job will knock your socks off. He went on to star in "Rent", "Jersey Boys", and the stunning 2012 revival of "Jesus Christ Superstar" in which he understudied both Jesus and Judas and yes, we do talk about how on Earth he was able to pull that off. He was recently in the original New York company of "Shear Madness", a show that I’m sort of obsessed with from Boston. It’s that’s a hilarious, improvey who-done-it, and we talk all about it. Jeremy can currently be seen starring in Cirque Du Soleil’s first ever Broadway show—"Paramour"—which is playing at the Lyric Theater. I loved talking to this guy. Enjoy!

Branca Ferrazo is the executive producer of the new film "Petunia". She stars alongside Thora Birch, Brittany Snow, and Academy Award winner Christine Lahti.  The Brazilian born beauty who trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in NYC, is the founder of RAW Productions; Raw Authentic Wisdom Productions, and also works as a Director, Producer, and writer.
