Hop on our flying carpet — today, we're all Disney princesses (crowns optional). This week, Trevin is officially ordained and struggling to write a wedding speech that's somehow harder than crafting petty crime stories. Meanwhile, Amanda's mind is blown at Disney on Ice, where four-legged characters are skating their hearts out in front of her family. In trivia, Amanda dishes on a Disney princess with surprisingly few lines, while Trevin introduces us to Glynn “Scotty” Wolfe — the Guinness World Record holder for most marriages ever (yes, seriously). For storytime, Amanda pulls off a full Disney bingo with the arrest of Caleb Albers in Oklahoma City, just around a Disney on Ice tour stop, while Trevin dives deep into the drama of Angela and David Voelkert — a messy custody battle fueled by 2011 Facebook antics. Both stories feature perpetrators whose problems go far beyond their viral petty crimes. Get ready for an episode packed with childlike whimsy, unexpected gasps, and just the right amount of heartbreak. It's true crime, comedy, Disney magic, and divorce chaos like you've never heard before. Once the highest-grossing animated film of all time and certainly a cultural phenomenon that revived Disney with a hefty almost "re-renaissance" as Michael puts it, 2013's Frozen is a trope-subverting musical-movie that had the entire world belting "LET IT GOOOOOOOO" in both appropriate and inappropriate social settings...so why did it take us 185 episodes to finally bring it to the couch? The movie is good, and has a pretty wild twist that was novel for its time, but it isn't a perfect movie either, and experiences some missteps in its villian, consistency, and narrative that newer musical-movie entries like Moana and Encanto deftly avoid. Does this film stand the test of time? Should the gang see Disney on Ice? Does Olaf get worse or better in Frozen 2? Guess you'll have to listen to our discussion to find out. Content warning: strong language.

We begin this week's episode with a little Built Puff bar drama. Kelly is obsessed and now Lizz is jumping on the bandwagon and taking one too many bars from the Stumpe stash. Could this cause a major riff between the sisters?  Kelly spent some time this week doing a little Facebook snooping and realizing that parenting is the great equalizer. The cool kids in high school are also changing diapers and going to Disney on Ice and it feels so satisfying to see. Meanwhile, Lizz is getting ready to finally feel settled by the end of 2025. But first there is a whole host of home projects that need to be done that will require them to move out for a little while. In the end, Lizz says it will be all worth it.    It's time to check in with Last Three Transactions. Lizz is all about buying stuff to make her life easier this week, like a belt hole puncher and glue traps for the bugs that get in her house. Plus, popsicle molds to made some easy sweet treats this summer. Kelly is on a health journey and bought some weights for her garage workouts. She also got more of those Geometry dish towels she's obsessed with and a headband and bow combo to tame some unruly child hair.   Finally, in Ditch the Drive-Thru Kelly is giving you some easy dinner ideas based on what she is eating this week. Who wants flank steak, nachos or barbeque chicken sweet potatoes?

In this episode, Dave and Jamison answer these questions: A listener named Steven says, Long-time listener of the podcast here—it always brings me so much joy! Should I prioritize title over salary? I'm currently based in Europe, working as a Senior Engineer at a big company that pays really well. The problem is, there's almost no chance for promotion due to the economy and budget constraints. Plus, because of the organizational structure, I'm stuck solving small problems that don't have a big impact. It's frustrating—but again, the pay is great. Recently, I got an offer for a Staff Engineer position at another company. The catch is, the pay isn't as good (30%+ cut), and I'm not sure about their culture or structure yet. However, the title could potentially open more doors for me in the future. Should I take the offer, accept the pay cut, and hope it's a step forward for my career? Hello! Long time listener, first-time caller :-) I'm on the final stretch of classes to finish my BS in computer science at WGU, most of which I've done while working. I'm now 40, and I have had 3 previous occupations and employers: aircraft mechanic for 5 years at a small shop, figure skater with Disney on Ice for 6 years, and most recently a partner at an environmental remediation/heavy construction firm for 10 years where my primary responsibilities were field crew management and technical writing for ecology reports. I would love your advice on how I could use these experiences to stand out on a resume or in a job interview. How can I indicate that I'm a hard worker and that I know just enough to know that I know nothing and am ready to learn? Thank you for your time, keep up the good work!

Here at The Loudini Rock & Roll Circus podcast we love horror films and we love great rock and metal. Put the two together and it you  have two great tastes that taste great together. For this years Halloween "Spook-tacular" we will take you on a haunted tour of some of our favorite horror sound tracks that feature great rock and metal bands   What we did this week:   Lily: Kennywood, Disney on ICe,   Loudini: Azrael, Snakes on a plane Retrospective (Minty), Joe Brown on Ike & Tina (Art of Dialogue), Bands shooting themselves in the foot with YouTube (Rock Feed), The early days of MTV (polyphonic), Japanese words that Americans don't understand (Mrs Eats), Adams Family Retrospective (Minty), Joe Rogan OMG!, R.I.P. Phil Lesh & Teri Gar, A.I. and Loudini   1. Trick or Treat (1986) Synopsis: Eddie Weinbauer, a high school outcast and heavy metal fan, discovers that his favorite rock star, Sammi Curr, has died in a mysterious fire. When he plays one of Curr's unreleased albums backward, he unwittingly resurrects the rocker as a supernatural force seeking revenge. Soundtrack: The soundtrack features Fastway, a British rock band that composed most of the music for the film, giving it an authentic 80s heavy metal vibe. Background: This cult classic explores themes of rebellion and the "Satanic Panic" of the 1980s, with cameo appearances by rock icons Ozzy Osbourne (playing a conservative talk show host) and Gene Simmons. 2. Queen of the Damned (2002) Synopsis: Based on Anne Rice's novel, this film follows vampire Lestat, who awakens from slumber to become a rock star, attracting the attention of other vampires and the ancient Queen Akasha, who wishes to rule alongside him. Soundtrack: Korn's Jonathan Davis worked with composer Richard Gibbs to produce tracks, with contributions from bands like Disturbed, Deftones, and Marilyn Manson. Background: The soundtrack was a defining feature, creating a unique, moody soundscape that reflects the gothic and seductive qualities of Rice's vampire world. 3. The Crow (1994) Synopsis: Eric Draven, a musician, returns from the grave to avenge his and his fiancée's murder on the night before Halloween. Guided by a mystical crow, he confronts the killers in a stylized, gritty urban landscape. Soundtrack: The dark and atmospheric soundtrack includes Nine Inch Nails, The Cure, Rage Against the Machine, and Stone Temple Pilots. Background: The Crow became iconic, partially due to its haunting soundtrack, and remains influential for its combination of rock music with the film's themes of love, vengeance, and loss. 4. Bride of Chucky (1998) Synopsis: Killer doll Chucky is resurrected by his former lover, Tiffany. After a ritual goes awry, she's trapped in a doll's body as well. Together, the murderous dolls embark on a chaotic journey to find new bodies. Soundtrack: The edgy soundtrack features Rob Zombie, Slayer, Judas Priest, and Type O Negative. Background: Known for its dark humor, Bride of Chucky refreshed the Child's Play series, and its soundtrack added a gritty, punk-rock feel to the horror-comedy. 5. Return of the Living Dead (1985) Synopsis: When a chemical leaks at a medical supply warehouse, it causes the dead to rise and wreak havoc in a nearby town. A group of punk teens finds themselves at the center of the chaos. Soundtrack: The punk-driven soundtrack includes The Cramps, T.S.O.L., and 45 Grave. Background: Blending punk culture with zombie horror, this film is notable for its humor, gore, and punk soundtrack, which complements its rebellious, chaotic spirit. 6. Demon Knight (1995) Synopsis: A mysterious drifter named Brayker seeks refuge in a rundown hotel while being pursued by a demonic entity called The Collector, who wants a relic Brayker holds. Soundtrack: The soundtrack includes Pantera, Megadeth, and Ministry. Background: Part of the "Tales from the Crypt" film series, this movie's soundtrack and horror-action elements captured a blend of supernatural horror with hard-hitting rock. 7. Freddy vs. Jason (2003) Synopsis: Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees, two iconic killers from horror franchises, come face-to-face in a battle, with teens caught in the crossfire. Soundtrack: The soundtrack features Ill Nino, Slipknot, Sepultura, and Spineshank. Background: Featuring a high-energy soundtrack, this crossover slasher appealed to metal fans and is known for its adrenaline-filled music. 8. House of 1000 Corpses (2003) Synopsis: Two couples on a road trip through rural America stumble upon a bizarre museum run by a man named Captain Spaulding. Their curiosity leads them into the lair of the Firefly family, where terror and madness unfold. Soundtrack: The soundtrack, curated by director Rob Zombie, includes songs by Zombie himself along with Buck Owens and The Ramones, adding a gritty, Southern rock vibe. Background: Rob Zombie's directorial debut is heavily influenced by grindhouse films and 1970s horror. The music complements its chaotic and disturbing tone, with Zombie's own tracks amplifying the twisted atmosphere. 9. Resident Evil (2002) Synopsis: Alice, an amnesiac security operative, teams up with a group of commandos to investigate a deadly virus outbreak in a high-tech facility known as The Hive. Their mission pits them against reanimated corpses and mutated creatures. Soundtrack: The soundtrack features Slipknot, Marilyn Manson, and Coal Chamber, creating an industrial, high-energy backdrop for the action-horror elements. Background: Known for its intense action sequences and blend of horror with sci-fi, the soundtrack's industrial metal sound contributes to the futuristic, menacing feel of the film. 10. Dracula 2000 (2000) Synopsis: In this modern adaptation, Dracula is accidentally revived in New Orleans, where he targets the daughter of the man who once tried to contain him. The story intertwines classic vampire lore with contemporary themes. Soundtrack: Featuring bands like Pantera, Slayer, System of a Down, and Linkin Park, the soundtrack is heavy with rock and metal tracks. Background: This retelling of the Dracula story embraces a darker, edgier approach, with a soundtrack that enhances its themes of immortality and rebellion against tradition.   New & Notable:   Loudini: Trope; Planes Lily: Blacklist Union; Hey Mr. Superstar

What do all great brands have in common? They create a meaningful experience for their customers–something Stu Synder is an expert in. Stu is the Founder and President of Snyder Media Group, LLC., creating content and providing strategic guidance to media, live entertainment, and start-up companies.  Chances are, you're already familiar with Stu's work. Maybe you watched Cartoon Network or Adult Swim during his long tenure at Turner Broadcasting System. Perhaps you've seen a film he helped bring to screens, such as Terminator 2: Judgement Day or Reservoir Dogs. Or maybe you've attended Disney on Ice or a Ringling Brothers show. Most recently, Stu is the co-owner of Beal's Lobster Pier, an iconic restaurant and lobster pier on Mount Desert Island, Maine. The one thing that all of Stu's projects have in common is that they offer people memorable experiences. Exceed Your Customers' Expectations Stu lives by the rule of over-delivering. When someone walks into his restaurant, he aims to put a smile on their face–whether that's with great customer service, decorations on their takeout box, or an extra gift with their order. It might even involve taking the customer for a walk to show them where the lobsters come in.  It's all about the experience and making them feel connected to your brand. When you exceed expectations, that's what turns customers into advocates.  Equally important is how you deal with customers when things go wrong. Stu personally responds to every review of his restaurant, positive or negative. If it's positive, he thanks them for coming in. If it's not, he uses it as a learning opportunity and lets the customer know how he plans to correct the issue. The most important thing is to make your customers feel heard and taken care of. Building an Entrepreneurial Team As any business owner knows, building a team comes with its fair share of challenges. It can be difficult to keep everyone on the same page moving toward your vision. Stu takes a unique approach, encouraging his team to think like entrepreneurs–to look for out-of-the-box solutions, be creative, and take calculated risks.  If you're the leader, it's your job to give your team direction. But you should also listen to their input on that direction. Set targets together so everyone stays accountable. In the hiring process, Stu recommends focusing on personality just as much (if not more so) than their work experience. Get to know the person, their communication style, and their interests. Would they get along with the other people on your team? Does their communication style work well with yours? Look for people who want positive relationships with their professional peers. Strong connections within your team make for a healthier business. Enjoy this episode with Stu Snyder… Soundbytes 17:13-17:37 “If someone comes in expecting this, I want to over-deliver and exceed their expectations, whether that is the time that they hit Beal's or they get a little thing, someone orders from deals a box of lobsters, or Lunchable kids. How do we over exceed that expectation and put a smile on their face? What do we put in the box? How is the box decorated? How do we deliver on that experience?” 18:47-19:01 “You're not going to take care of 100% of the people and satisfy everyone. It's also when things go wrong or they're not perfect, how do we respond to them? How do we take care of them? Because that's critical to me.”  24:13-24:35 “I like to keep growing. I like working with different teams and learning, because I personally feel that if you if one stays too long in one place, you're only learning one set of disciplines. This is the way we did it. Well, what I wanted to learn was different ways of doing things and then apply it to my overall skill set. “ Quotes “Making people feel special, making people become advocates for your show or advocates for your brand is very important.”  “Over-delivering is critical.” “How do we make people feel special, especially in a world that we're living in, where I think people are looking for that.” “Being a leader was encouraging my team to think as entrepreneurs.”  “Never take yourself too seriously.” “Your team needs direction. They need to know where they're headed.” “If I'm making a hiring decision after one hour, I'm not doing my job.” Links mentioned in this episode: From Our Guest Visit Stu's website: https://stuartsnyder.com/  Connect with Stu on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/stuartsnyder/  Connect with brandiD Download our free guide to learn 16 crucial website updates that attract more leads and convert visitors into clients: https://thebrandid.com/website-tweaks/ Ready to elevate your digital presence with a powerful brand or website? Ever find yourself enchanted by the sparkle of a circus? Not just the outfits (which I've always admired)—but the incredible dedication behind the scenes? Well, today's podcast is a must-listen as I delve into the fascinating world of the Circus Ring of Fame in Sarasota, Florida, with my brilliant guest, Bill Powell. Funny story: this whole conversation started because I stumbled upon an old photo of myself doing one of my first celebrity interviews—with a monkey from the Royal Hanneford Circus! (Yes, a monkey. It was as hilarious as you can imagine.) That quirky blast from the past sent me spiraling down an acrobatic rabbit hole of circus research, and, wow, did I uncover some incredible stuff! Bill, who's the Chairman and CEO of the Circus Ring of Fame Foundation and a circus industry veteran, joined me to share insights into Sarasota's vibrant circus history and the resilience of this amazing community. Sarasota, as it turns out, isn't just another sunny Florida spot—it's the Circus Capital of America, a place where legends have performed and lived since the Ringling Brothers made it their winter home. Bill's expertise runs deep. Before leading the Circus Ring of Fame Foundation, he built an impressive career at Feld Entertainment, the company behind iconic productions like Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, Disney on Ice, and Monster Jam. His background gave him a unique understanding of the art, business, and enduring legacy of the circus world. But not everything has been bright lights and applause. The Circus Ring of Fame was recently devastated by hurricanes that tore through the area, leaving their iconic home in St. Armand's Circle Park in need of major repairs. The damage was so extensive that the much-anticipated 2025 Circus Ring of Fame Global Awards Show has sadly been postponed to 2026. Bill shared how this setback has fueled the community's determination to rebuild. As he put it, “This isn't our first rodeo hurricane.” Despite the challenges, the Circus Ring of Fame under Bill's leadership is finding innovative ways to keep its magic alive. They've incorporated QR codes into their legendary plaques, so visitors can scan and dive into the incredible stories, photos, and videos of circus legends who've shaped the art form. Bill also gave me an insider's view of what makes circus performers so special. He described the circus world as a place where people dedicate their entire lives to creating “six minutes of perfection.” Think about that! From trapeze acts to being shot out of cannons, these performers are the ultimate pros, bringing joy to audiences through unmatched artistry and effort. If you're ever in Sarasota, visiting the Circus Ring of Fame should be on your list—especially once the community's hard work restores it to its former glory. In the meantime, you can support their mission and learn more about these incredible artists. Listen to the full episode of The Debbie Nigro Show and get inspired by the magic of circus legends.
