Sad Boys For Real! Chicago artist, D2X, slides to PVTSTCK to discuss his album "Hotel 1105", giving up basketball and pursuing music, healing from previous marriage, and forgiving his parents & himself. In the song, "Route Paradise," D2X says, "I'm getting older, I release resentment from my shoulder / forgiving my dad, myself, my mama, I was chosen." Often, instability while growing up instills feelings of anger and resent. D2X is reflective of his past-experiences, and the things that have instilled both positive & negative qualities within him. He soon realized these negative qualities were impacting his mental health; thus, impacting the people around him. D2X had to learn to forgive his parents, so that he can begin to forgive himself. Also discussed, changes from "The Color Blue" to "Hotel 1105," starting to write "Hotel 1105" as a celebration and ending in tragedy, and understanding that he doesn't have to have all the answers.

“Walk with me and be thou perfect”. The sky is the next perfect thing to Jesus. This episode is an exposition - in less than ten minutes about what we conceive to be perfect. In the episode, I described our conception of perfect as "whopped" and sold to us by Disney and the "Happily Ever After" storytellers. "Your Instagram page is perfect, yes because it's carefully curated. That's why people have nothing on their page until they have something Instagram-worthy, therefore something perfect for Instagram." Perfect doesn't exist, there's improvement, there's better, there's the best possible outcome but pure roses and sunshine forever is a lie and a fantasy. As we get older, managing our expectations of perfect and the best possible outcome is crucial to what we reach for as success. It's always easier said than done, but the best answer is a process. Goodness, we're starting to take this podcast so personally. That's right, it's time for another episode of the Mad Men Men podcast, and this week we're folding laundry and uncovering some secrets behind Don Draper's talent for leaving a room. And you know what they say. You can't frame a podcast. In case this is your first time digging into Mad Men Men, our humble little baby podcast recaps Mad Men from the perspective of someone who hasn't really watched the show, someone who went through it once a long time ago, and a superfan who watches excessively it instead of having a functional social life. EXTRA CREDITS Matthew Weiner created Mad Men, which aired on AMC from 2007 to 2015. Michael Uppendahl directed this episode, “The Color Blue,” and Kater Gordon and Matthew Weiner wrote the script. The show stars Jon Hamm, January Jones, Elisabeth Moss, Vincent Kartheiser, Christina Hendricks, John Slattery, Robert Morse, and many more. The opening instrumental theme heard at the beginning of this podcast is “A Beautiful Mine” by RJD2. Podcast illustration is by Jon Negroni. In this episode of the pod we are doing a deep dive into the topic of Climate Change. More specifically we take a look at “Weather Modification”, an obscure subject that is well documented but seemingly never referenced in relation to the topic of Climate Change. We look at some examples of how weather modification was developed and the myriad of applications in which it is deployed. Later in the show we look into the wildfires in Canada and Hawaii and make an attempt to discern what is really goin on. This is a crazy episode filled with tons of conspiratorial ideas. That being said, it is deeply necessary to engage with ALL ideas from a rational and intuitive mind, truly asking yourself what YOU believe, instead of accepting what you are told to believe. I have grown to believe, through the research demonstrated in this episode, that much of the modern “Climate Change” movement is a hoax. Enjoy. Lots of Love

Here's a philosophical question for you. If a color doesn't have a name, can we still see it? Many years ago, the human eye evolved to give us the ability to see about a million colors. That's a lot. Then how come, until very recently, nobody saw or even heard of the color blue? Well, it's because blue just -- didn't exist yet. Let's find out why.

Humans have sought new materials to make elusive blue pigments for millennia—with mixed success. Today, scientists are tackling this blue-hued problem from many different angles. Host Sarah Crespi talks with contributing correspondent Kai Kupferschmidt about how scientists are looking to algae, bacteria, flowers—even minerals from deep under Earth's crust—in the age-old quest for the rarest of pigments. Also this week, host Meagan Cantwell speaks with Andrew Whitehead, associate professor in the department of environmental toxicology at the University of California, Davis, about how the Atlantic killifish rescued its cousin, the gulf killifish, from extreme pollution. Whitehead talks about how a gene exchange occurred between these species that normally live thousands of kilometers apart, and whether this research could inform future conservation efforts.
